Good luck for Friday pink!

Ria - lol @ your swimming theory. I like your thinking! Glad you are enjoying WW!

Nothing much to report this end. Went to the gym again today and that's about it really!!

Work tomorrow. Booooooo!!!!!

ameRIAcansmooth · 22/10/2009 15:08

day 2 going better than day 1...

RGPargy · 22/10/2009 23:02

Glad to hear it Ria!!

We just had a Seven Pound Special from the chinese and i had to squeeze in the last few chips. Now i feel sick tho - that'll teach me!!

I listened to Paulie last night - i wonder if that might have had something to do with why i'm so stuffed now?!

ameRIAcansmooth · 22/10/2009 23:08

RG. I just had a WW blackbean ready meal but I am within points today even with a small glass of wine

I made delish soup earlier, the recipe was on the WW thread (I was lurking earlier) - butternut squash, an onion, a pepper (should have been red but I only had orange) and 2 pint stock, boiled then whizzed up. I added some chilli flakes for a bit of oomph! Very nice amd enough for a couple of days.

It's nice to have a change, hope the enthusiasm lasts until I lose something!

Good luck for tomorrow Pink.

RGPargy · 23/10/2009 13:04

Well done on staying within points, Ria!

The soup sounds lovely! I have some homemade soup in my freezer that i made the other day - butternut and carrot. It's lovely and i think would be zero points too (at 1 point at the very most). Good idea about the chilli flakes - i'll bear that in mind for next time.

What's this i hear about pink cakes??

ameRIAcansmooth · 24/10/2009 16:46

rthe pink cake. DS2 is in year 1 and Yr1 and 2 were going up to the church yesterday for a "christening" and then having a party (how not to do any lessons on the last day of term), so I made a cake and iced it in pink and put the dollies name on it. Sadly the icing in the middle was a bit soft and it slid in the car and looked slightly more crap by the time we got to school, went down well though (and I didn't have any!)

why are men such arses? I had a short nap earlier while DH was on his break (I have earache) and he has given DS3 lucozade in a "sports bottle" that DS3 obviously doesn't like because he has just shaken it all over the floor (10 mins after DH gone back to work), there is no wonder this house is such a mess.

think I'll put carrots and celery in my soup next time, would have put sweet potato in but didn't want to waste the points

made a grave error with the boys lunch - I made them chicken broth, and sent DS1 to the shop for crusty bread...

ameRIAcansmooth · 25/10/2009 18:35

gah, am having crisis of faith. Feel like a big fat lump and don't know whether to stick with WW or try and get back into SW.

I did only have a tiny sip of wine last night because we were finishing the bottle and DH splashed his all over (I think he lost feeling in his hand again) so I gave him mine (it was white morelot and disgusting)

RGPargy · 27/10/2009 21:52

Sorry to hear about your slipping icing Ria! I've had that problem too with DD's 1st birthday cake, but only because i put hte icing on the cake when it wasn't quite cold and it ended up looking like it had melted! I had to make another one because it looked so pitiful! It tasted spectacular tho!

Sounds to me like you are getting a bit impatient for some weight loss Ria. I know exactly how you feel but you really must stick to one or the other. I've been going to the gym 3 times a week (now upped to 4 times a week) since April and it's not been until the last week or so that i've started to notice my body slowly but surely shrinking in certain places. It's all down to perseverence at the end of the day and that's what you must do with either WW or SW. Do whichever one you feel most comfortable doing as this will undoubtedly be the one you stick to.

ameRIAcansmooth · 27/10/2009 22:00

that's half the battle - working out which one is likely to become a long-term lifestyle change. Half term is always a bed time for decisions!

I need to get it into my head that I need to put myself first more.

No swimming this week as have hurt my shoulder. And no dance class because it's half term.

RGPargy · 31/10/2009 23:13

How you doing Ria?

Chicken kebab last night, takeaway curry tonight. Oopsie!

I came on today tho so when i went shopping i bought ten tons of sweet crap, but i didn't even realise it til DP pointed it out to me when i got home! Start again on Monday?

ameRIAcansmooth · 01/11/2009 10:08

I'll be there!

ameRIAcansmooth · 03/11/2009 11:04

how's it going RG?

I did OK yesterday, today going well so far...

RGPargy · 04/11/2009 20:25

Hi Ria!

Not too bad thanx, although i have got through most of the sweet crap that i bought....

How are you doing?

ameRIAcansmooth · 04/11/2009 22:14

hi RG. I was doing OK...

bad morning, flat tyre and stuff, no time for proper slimming world breakfast. Had toast. The rest is pretty standard

TOM so that explains it. Plan to be back on track tomorrow as I'm still feeling good about it all.

RGPargy · 04/11/2009 22:27

Ah what a bugger Ria. Back on with it tomorrow! Onwards and downwards (scale-wise!). Good luck for the rest of the week.

RGPargy · 06/11/2009 21:45

How are you Ria?

ameRIAcansmooth · 06/11/2009 23:26

hi RG. is it curry night?

I'm buggered! Been a long day. I made fizzy traffic light jellies today! and DS2s friend didn't like it, had a nice cuppa with her mum when she came to collect her though. So that means I actually got the downstairs of the house almost fit for public admission!

not been a good day diet wise, but I don't think I've enjoyed/savoured anything I've eaten. So will consider it a learning experience as there's no point eating it if you don't enjoy it.

I am going for my first ever facial in the morning. And then taking my niece for her birthday present of a mini facial and manicure later on (a charity event at the salon), and she and her brother are coming to play with the boys afterwards. I plan to be very good with food because I will surely need wine after all that!

Have hidden the grey hairs tonight too, so hopefully will feel better about myself wish Ihad the nerve to go for something other than medium brown!

how's things with you?

PINK! if you;re lurking, hope you are OK and your back isn't too bad. DO you have TENS?

ameRIAcansmooth · 06/11/2009 23:28

am also pondering vitamins/herbal supplements as it's the general exhaustion that makes me give up on the healthy eating (frozen pizza being so much easier than finely dicing veg). Do you recommend anything, or is it all commercial hype doyou think?

RGPargy · 07/11/2009 21:31

Hi Ria

Curry night has now moved to Saturday nights because by the time i got home from work on a Friday at gone 7pm, then put DD to bed etc, we weren't eating til about 10pm!!! Plus i refused to stand there cooking dinner for that long after a day at work lol.

Had a curry tonight and had HALF of the rice I would normally have, plus HALF of the curry i would normally have, plus HALF of a naan bread! Go me!! Was bad tho because i had two toffee yum yums after! Plus i've been picking at biscuits today too. Oops!! Getting really cross with myself for eating so much crap, ggrr!!

How was your facial?? I've got a voucher for a treatment at my local Clarins place so i'd be interested to hear if you think your facial was worth my £50 voucher!

I tend to go for peroxide on my hair so that it blends in with the greys

As for vitamins etc, personally i would be inclined not to use them but would be more inclined to eat a better range of foods, including loads of fruit and veg, etc, etc, yadda yadda yadda lol. Having said that, if it's complete exhaustion, maybe you should see the doctor for a check up??

ameRIAcansmooth · 07/11/2009 21:55

it is indeed total exhaustion (as even though I do eat a lot of crap, I do eat varied crap), but GP usually puts me on ADs (so then there's the side-effects to cope with too), and the MHN has said she doesn't think (based on 4 half hour counselling sessions each a month apart, where I pretend everything is "fine") I need to be on them. I just want to get through the first couple of weeks until the "increased energy" promised ny all the success stories in the SW mag kicks in!

my mini facial (15 minutes) cost a fiver ( = a charity open day offer),so I would expect quite a lot for your voucher, apparently the standard facial at my salon lasts an hour, and I have been looking at their website just now trying to find out the price, but it's not on as the beauty bit is quite new, I think it's maybe 20-ish? sadly my bloody sciatica kicked in during the treatment and I couldn't get up or get my shoes on and could hardly walk

well done on eating half!

ameRIAcansmooth · 07/11/2009 22:26

oh, I forgot to say, my facial made me very aware of how fat my face is

RGPargy · 07/11/2009 22:33

Well do YOU think you need the ADs?? Why do you pretend all is "fine" at your counselling sessions if it isn't fine? She's there to help you and can only go on what you tell her so if things aren't right, you really should be more open with her if you're not being open already. The increased energy is very alluring isn't it lol. I have found that exercise does it for me more than eating well.

Sorry your sciatica spoiled your treatment - what a bummer. I still dont know whether to have a massage or a facial! Think i will probably go for a facial as i dont want someone to rub their hands on my flabby back! Yuck!!

ameRIAcansmooth · 07/11/2009 22:49

TBH I've tried that (not pretending) the last couple of times, and she didn't seem to be listening, so I suppose I'll carry on as I am for these sessions, and then end up getting re referred next time I go to the GP as a last resort. I am not very good at opening up in RL, I probably give more away on here than I do in RL.

It was the back thing put me off having a massage! A couple of years ago my friend gave me a voucher for xmas, for her partner to give me either a massage or a reflexology treatment, and I have never had it because I couldn't face the idea of being so close to someone while I am so fat.

deafworm · 11/11/2009 09:37

hi all, can i sneak back in? we have moved now and finally getting settled. rejoined slimming world last night and came away full of energy. giving extra easy a go today, cant for the life of me see how its going to work but enjoying it anyway! i havent read back on here yet and have to go out in a minute so will catch up properly later on but just wanted to give you all a wave and say hi

RGPargy · 12/11/2009 10:23

Oh Ria, that's a shame that she's not listening to you. Alot of people aren't good at opening up in real life - myself included. Sometimes when DP knows something is wrong, inside my head i am talking ten to the dozen but my mouth just doesn't move and it wont come out!! I've always been like it, even as a child.

With the regard to the massage thing, people in that business see all shapes and sizes of people and are so used to everyone's wobbly bits, it really doesn't phase them. I do know how you feel tho - it's all i can do to get myself to the salon for a waxing "down below"!!

Deafworm - hello and welcome back! Glad you are feeling invigorated by your return to SW. I wish you every success!
