you are obviously a living saint, the temptation ofthat cliff would have been too much for me

nothing wrong with my outfit as far as I'm concerned, but "it isn't what you usually wear". Actually got changed out of the lovely jumper as I didn't go out with DH after all, I have been blitzing my kitchen cupboards instead.

RGPargy · 14/10/2009 22:34

Hello ladies!

Bee - blimey, you are deffo a saint for putting up with MIL doing that!! What a cheek!!

Ria - shame you cant get to the other dance class, it's frustrating isn't it.

Well i'm on day 3 of no wine (shock, horror) and so far so good. I went to yet another step class today and i didn't feel aerobically knackered as i usually do. My legs were feeling heavy and tired today tho because of all the exercise no doubt, so because of that i found it a little difficult, but i didn't feel like i was going to die, which is a good thing!

Did a yoga class on Monday night too. First yoga class ever and it was quite challenging, i have to say! Think i will be going again next week (it's immediately after step lol).

I'm trying to convince DP to join the gym too because he's feeling lots of aches and pains and i'm convinced it's because he smokes (not in the house!!!) and doesn't exercise. Hopefully he'll do it and then we can take it in turns to go to the gym lol.

I'm looking forward to my weigh in next Monday when i find out how much weight i have hopefully lost!

sarahken · 14/10/2009 22:51

Can I join up here, started my diet in May this year was 15st 2lbs- want to be 10st 1 lb so I have a healthy BMI.

I'm now 11st 6.5lbs have lost 3st 9.5lbs so far. Have 19.5lbs to lose- I figure 2lbs per week & 10 weeks till xmas I may just get there although I know things don't always work like that

I have to lose the 19.5lbs by mid jan at the latest as I'm back at work and won't be able to get to weight watcher meetings, so need to get to gold so I don't have to pay for missed weeks. I'm dying for a chocolate muffin and icecream out of my cupboard, but at 20g of fat in the muffin alone I think I may just go to bed early

GrimRIAper · 14/10/2009 22:54

well done sarah, that is a fantastic achievement, deffo put me to shame. welcome to the thread.

sarahken · 14/10/2009 23:02

Thanks grimRIAper- fancy something savoury and have 1.5 points left but nothing to eat in my house. May have to eat a small tin of beans out of my cupboard- but no toast- boooo!. Usually have wednesdays off and get a chippie for dinner- but didn't today as too busy so feel I can't be bad when I have been good all day if you know what I mean. If I'm going to fall off the wagon- I like to fall off it big style

RGPargy · 15/10/2009 21:06

Hi Sarah and welcome! Well done on your weight loss so far, that's a great achievement!

Well, i've decided to go back to traditional old calorie counting. So far this week i've been under my calorie allowance for the day (around 2,400 i think) so hopefully, what with being off the booze for a while, i'll have a loss by Monday. Fingers crossed!!

GrimRIAper · 15/10/2009 21:22

LOL RG, I bought a WW cookbook yesterday. I think it's good that we are both willing to try all the diets on offer

wish someone would come up with that wine and takeaway diet...

so, is it possible to learn to walk in high heeled shoes? I need heels for my dancing...

RGPargy · 15/10/2009 22:16

lol Ria, yes at least we are still willing! It just seems that i've been allowed to eat alot more than i would have done, had i been following WW! It doesn't matter what you eat, as long as you stick to your calorie limits and that's what i like about it. I know you can do that with WW too but you seem to get alot less for your "money" than you do with calorie counting. That's my theory anyway. Obviously the less calories i eat the more i will have to watch what i'm eating, but for now i'm just enjoying eating quite a bit and knowing i'm still within my limits!!

GrimRIAper · 16/10/2009 08:08

I like that about calorie counting too, but I do find it hard with home-made stuff.

I don't know what to do for best really, but I need to stop wondering and start doing! I need the aches to go away, I need more energy ( though there could be a bug going round causing those TBH) and I need to lose some weight so I can be better at dancing.

Why is it all so difficult and frutrating and exhausting?

Did I mention we are having a wartime-themed food weekend at home? (DS1 is really into the war, and we are going to a "wartime weekend" themed event over the weekend if the weather is good. I thought it would be fun to eat "in-period". Tonight is "pre-war" so we are having cottage pie and trifle.

GrimRIAper · 17/10/2009 08:57

there I was last night, stuffing takeaway and thinking, ah well it's the weekend, start again Monday...

sneaky step on the scales this morning = with myself

so back on the SW wagon today. I'll give SW a week and see how I go, before contemplating WW or anything else.

RGPargy · 17/10/2009 20:15

I think home made stuff is easier to calorie count because you know exactly what you are putting in it, IMO.

I know what you mean about stopping thinking and starting DOING! The more weight you lose tho, the more the aches go - trust me!

How was the pre-war dinner?

Dont be too hard on yourself about having the takeaway. Another day is a new start.

ameRIAcansmooth · 19/10/2009 17:57

quick question RG - when you are following WW do you sometimes get really annoyed/disheartened with their "propaganda"? ("you need never feel hungry" "losing weight is easy" etc)

Am having a bad day in myself, never mind hinking about food!

RGPargy · 19/10/2009 22:47

It does get annoying, doesn't it Ria. If losing weight is easy i would be stick thin by now. Losing weight is bloody hard!!! I did used to end up sitting there feeling like shit because i'd "cheated" or not had a very good week.

Hope your day got better this evening Ria.

ameRIAcansmooth · 20/10/2009 01:22

I was reading the SW mag this afternoon and I felt no motivation at all, and was looking at the recipes thinking "who would eat that".

still feeling, but have tried to tell DH how I feel, so he might make an effort tomorrow

RGPargy · 20/10/2009 08:47

I know what you mean. Some of the recipes are just awful both in WW and SW! Alot of WW is promoting all their gash products too, which in itself is awful because they are just full of sweeteners and such other horrible fake stuff.

Hope you feel better today Ria.

PinkChick · 20/10/2009 10:31

oooooooooooooooooooooooohhh Ello girls .xxx

ameRIAcansmooth · 20/10/2009 11:16

hey Pink! How ya doin'?

am leaning towards WW today (for tomorrow of course)

PinkChick · 20/10/2009 11:40

still fat LOL..can i come back?.x

RGPargy · 20/10/2009 12:54

Hi Pink! How are you? You still on those awful tablets or have you seen the light? ;)

Good to have you back!

ameRIAcansmooth · 20/10/2009 12:55

course you can! would that be down to the parmos? (I always wonder what the hell they are when I read your FB status!!!)

are you still on the tabs? (get me - nosey cow!)

Our favourite kebab/pizza takeaway is closed now (I think for a month), so that should give me incentive to try a bit harder due to lack of temptation - while I could happily eat chinese several times a week I can't afford it., and the pizzas DH makes and sometimes brings from work aren't quite the same.

we're losing a stone for xmas by the way

RGPargy · 20/10/2009 18:16

Ooooo i forgot to say yesterday!!! I lost 3lbs this week!!!

PinkChick · 20/10/2009 19:52

Well done RG ...and yes...im taking those tabs again...im fine on them, not for everyone i know..they just stopped affecting me all together last year!?..but can 'feel' them helping again now ..so fingers crossed!

Ria...LOL..a parmo..LOL..is originally pork fillet, now more commonly chicken...baked in bread crumbs (or deep fried if you order instead f making own), with bechamel sauce and grated cheese on top..they are the nicest food in the world LOL...although one of my mindee's tonight begs to differ..i knocked up an ever so quick chicken casserole today and she anounced it was BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE!!! LOL...ive had a good day today, good week really despite stress wobble on sunday night!, couldnt get on wii fit today as back too painful so hoping to get on in morning b4 work..love the boxing and tennis, can really feel those helping the flabby bingo wings LOL...off for me hi lights now.xxx

ameRIAcansmooth · 20/10/2009 22:23

well done RG good old calorie counting!

I've been out tonight. I had a mini strop about how often DH has all 3 DCs on his own (never), and had a bloody awful night with them last night getting them to bed, after a very intense and full-on weekend, so I said I was off out before tea and not coming back til after bedtime... I did tea, and then I went... SWIMMING!!!

swimming is not and never will be my favourite thing, but I did 30 lengths, must be a small pool. In November and December it is only £1.50 to swim in the afternoons. am quite excited, though would have to work out somewhere free to park , and it would defeat the pbject of child-free time

I don't think parmo is quite me pink, but I'm sure it's lovely, I may get DH to make one sometime,

PinkChick · 21/10/2009 09:33

they are nicer and much healthier made yourself Ria, mine are fab, dp actually prefers them to take away ones and dd loves mine too..shes getting so good with her eating now, lots of new food and more importantly lots more veg..they all enjoyed my chicken casserole..even mum of mindee who hinted that much i prepared her a tuppaware dish of what was left this morn LOL.

well done with the swimmin!..im not a strong swimmer, prefer aqua fat but hard to summon up any effort once ive finished work lately LOL...was enjoying the wii fit before my back went yesterday ..will try a bit of gentle step this morn before i start work at 11.30.

Had a relativly good day yesterday but got a bit snacky last night..had a bag of beef n onion crisps..but my day was fab and my 'treat' was hi lights...my god ive just realised i DIDNT have a bar of choc yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...> ..wow, im impressed with myself LOL...am logging my days on food focus again, i think thats easy to understand and keep track of...am at nurse fri morn to get weighed..will have some explaining to do as ive been cancelling and re making all my apointments but been having nightemare with work last 2 months so not been botherd with dieting...i know i hadnt put any on though and according to my erratic scales i have lost 'some'..how much i will find out fri as these swing from one extreme to another LOL

well am off to submit tax return and try to have 20 mins on step, hope you all have a good day girls, take care.x

ameRIAcansmooth · 21/10/2009 14:10

am almost enjoying day 1 of WW, though DH bought me a wrap for luch and it has affected my plans for this evening a bit!

Had a brilliant realisation about swimming earlier - if I go again in the evening we can have indian takeaway! (I have to go to town to swim, 15-20mins away, and it is the town where I went to the lovely indian restaurant with Dsis, and they do takeaway!)
