OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from ⭐️⭐️

Here we are with our LOSE IT! Superfood September 2026! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!
I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Checking in for September 👋🏻
Thanks for the new thread!!

I am back at my start weight 🙃 when I joined the threads in June. So here we go again!

ToddlersAreBananas · 31/08/2026 21:03

I'm checking in too!
Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife

TealSloth · 31/08/2026 21:05

Checking in September thankyou

LemonDrizzle23 · 31/08/2026 21:17

Thank you @TheRealHousewife
I hope you’re enjoying your time away!

Looking forward to September - I’m a big autumn fan 😍 DS heading back to school always feels like a good excuse to have a bit of time to work on myself. The last three weeks of August have been pretty poor from a health (and eating!) perspective. Tomorrow’s WOW is def going to be a gain, which is annoying.

New start September…

moondip · 31/08/2026 22:22

CostcoFanofThree · 31/08/2026 23:39

checking in as well and fingers crossed my mojo shows up soon.

Oopsupsideyourheadache · 01/09/2026 00:19

Id love to join please. Unemployed as of 2 weeks ago and my mental health is in the gutter. I'm very overweight. This sounds like a wonderful thread to join.

I want to move my body more, and nourish it with better food.

Plumstrum · 01/09/2026 04:13

I would like to join - I’ve been trying to lose a stone for about a year with no success so hopefully this group will help!

Mash88 · 01/09/2026 06:23

Checking in for September. Thank you for the new thread @TheRealHousewife. I need to start posting more on here.

It should all be back to “normal” this week. Everyone is back at work this week so less covering for people. More chilled and not so mentally draining that food & exercise takes a back burner.

Good luck everyone with the new month.

socks1107 · 01/09/2026 08:18

Just checking in.
i saw goal weight on Sunday so I think Im moving to maintenance but will double check tmrw on official weigh day.

DandelionPockets · 01/09/2026 08:24

Hello September!

SummerHols2026 · 01/09/2026 08:34

Hi everyone! Joining for September. I followed this one in August:

  1. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
And I lost 4lbs. I would love to lose 3lbs this month to take me to half a stone.

I’m also focusing on sleep. August I let myself lie in for the first time while the kids got up and got breakfast. The getting breakfast themselves had limited success but those extra minutes in bed were divine. Headed back to work this week so won’t be able to lie in like that in September so going to try really hard to head to bed at 10 most evenings. The difference the extra rest made to my mood was really noticeable.

Good luck everyone!

CinnamonSweet73 · 01/09/2026 08:56

Checking back in for September! Thanks @TheRealHousewife ❤️

Looking to lose about 2kg this month

Good luck everyone!

PatienceOfEngels · 01/09/2026 09:14

Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife

Starting the month as 77.1kg but fx for a drop for tomorrow's wow!

Noticing that having an evening off tends to spill over into the next day and then I don't make any progress (Saturday had takeaway and then went to cinema (2x drinks plus popcorn, then finished the takeaway on Sunday!). I need to learn when to stop and when to say no I think.

Otherwise been a good week snacking wise - no crisps, cheese/crackers, biscuits or cakes. 3 square meals, homemade dinners/lunches, fruit for snack, very little eating after dinner.

Can definitely up the movement this month - that's my goal.
Back in the groove of school already and finding my rhythm.

Will be back tomorrow for wow and a proper check-in.

Plan for today
-boiled egg and slice rye toast with butter, 2 x coffee w milk
-aubergine parmigiana with one slice of bread/butter
-chicken bhuna with rice

-walk during DC extra curricular

@LemonDrizzle23 I love autumn as well. Already people complaining about about rain but after the heat I really don't mind.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 01/09/2026 09:17

Morning all! Starting September at 14 stone 4lbs which means I've lost exactly 4 stone now!

Last day of the summer holidays here so back to work tomorrow. I'm looking forward to getting more walking done.

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

LegoTherapy · 01/09/2026 09:45

Happy September!
Checking in at 53.45kg.
I’m back for some accountability for healthier eating and some resistance training. My youngest starts high school on Thursday and I’m going to have more time to both cook better meals and get some exercise other than walking in. I’m going to lose 25 miles a week of walking with not taking him to school and I need to find a way to replace that with equal cardio. I’ve not walked much over the summer and not gained weight so I’m not too concerned about the effect on that but walking keeps me relatively sane and is good for the soul. It will be interesting to see how much I walk the first full week to get an idea of how much less I’ll actually be doing. I’ll still be walking him to two after school clubs each week and up to my mum’s 4 times a week. I’d like to go on a bike ride once in a while but mainly I want to get a good tone up routine. I’ve avoided all tops that show my crepey upper arms this summer and haven’t worn a dress once. I’ve felt really down about my arms. I had terrible bloating after a change in medication and it took a month to go away which made me feel rubbish too.

I hope you all had a lovely summer and are now looking forward to things like homemade soups, shepherds pie, and apple crumble type things. I’d love to find a good veggie shepherds pie recipe that uses red lentils. Quorn mince now upsets my stomach so I can’t use that anymore. I made an amazing lasagne but my stomach objected. Lasagne would be my death row meal so I was very disappointed.
Yesterday I made broccoli and cheddar soup, and lentil, carrot and celery soup. I made a loaf of bread with a seeded crust on Sunday. I’ve blitzed together chia, poppy, sunflower, pumpkin and linseeds and I press it into the dough. I had planned to add some to porridge for extra protein but I’m not sure I’ll like it. Chia seeds always, but maybe not the mix. I’ll be brave and try it.
I’ve beaten my Yazoo banana milk addiction. Going on holiday sorted that as I couldn’t get it. I’ve not had it since. I’m eating actual food instead now although I still need to work on the protein upping.

Let’s do this! No matter your starting point, no matter how far you’ve come or how far you’ve got to go, you can do it! Small changes for the win. I’ve been on these threads years and started off at 68.58kg. I lost it steadily and apart from a couple of kilos that goes on every now and again I’ve stayed at around 54-56kg for around 3 years. I don’t have anything that’s banned from my diet. I believe in eating what you want but to add healthy stuff in. Porridge with a shit ton of golden syrup? Add chia seeds. Make your own cakes, biscuits, bread if you can to cut out the UPF crap. Add extra veg to your plate. Carbs are not the enemy. I’m not a huge protein pusher but as I need it for my ADHD medication I try to be better with it. I eat a babybel for a protein boost snack and have a thing for Snickers lately. Better than a Crunchie with the nuts being there. I’m having spicy bean burgers for some dinners and melt cheese on top. I don’t have anything like chips with it, just the burger or a roll, or on its own with some veg. I want to get back into proper Greek yogurt again, and my usual red pepper hummus and breadsticks although I swapped out some breadsticks for carrot and red pepper sticks.

Small changes make a difference so if your new to these threads and feeling overwhelmed don’t panic. Choose one thing you know you can change and are likely to stick to. I’m all for adding rather than taking away. I don’t go for deprivation although at the start I didn’t eat after 7pm and was often going to bed hungry. I learnt to ignore it though and in the morning I was never extra hungry so I knew I didn’t need that bedtime snack. During lockdown I was eating big bags of lentil chips, or kitkats, or big bags of popcorn, or Revels in bed most nights. Having that 7pm/after dinner cut off helped massively to reset my habits. I should probably go back to that habit. I’ve been terrible for late night chocolate this summer. Brushing your teeth after dinner helps with not eating in the evening. If snacking while watching tv is a sticking point I highly recommend bouncing on a gym ball whilst watching. Or building Lego. No one wants sticky or greasy Lego bricks and it’s not wise to bounce and eat the same time. You can clock up a few miles of activity on a Fitbit by bouncing as the bounces count as steps. Great for the thighs and core.

I’m 50, post-menopausal, a single parent of 3 dc, one has left home and to my youngest I’m a lone parent. All 3 have additional needs and I am a carer for my lovely mum. I walk a lot but nothing else currently. Walking has been less over the summer and I’m looking forward to getting back out into the woods even though I won’t be walking Ds to school anymore. I’m going to go and watch the trains and listen to the birds on my app. Might take a flask of tea on cold days.

So welcome new people and hello to existing familiar faces. We’ve got this! Let’s do it!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 01/09/2026 10:29

@LegoTherapy there's a Slimming World veg cottage pie recipe that uses red lentils, it's lovely. I make it a lot.

WearyAuldWumman · 01/09/2026 10:31

Reporting in. Back to 14 stone 1lb and have a meal out tonight... (Must be all that muscle I'm building...Ha!)

RoseInAPot · 01/09/2026 10:36

September finally!

August has not been great for weight loss but I think I have at least managed to maintain so will see what the scales say tomorrow on WoW.

As per previous thread I'm using Happy Scale to track weight and calorie counting on Nutracheck. I think I may restart intermittent fasting this month as it has helped in the past.

SummerHols2026 · 01/09/2026 11:54

@LegoTherapy what a friendly and uplifting post ❤️ I really enjoyed reading that! My death row meal would be lasagna, garlic bread and chips!

I’m also all about cutting out the crap and focusing on what I really want rather than mindless stuffing. The evenings used to be deadly for me. Packet after packet of crisps. Now the DC are a bit older and staying up later I’ve managed to stop that because I don’t want them seeing that as normal or worse letting them join in. I highly recommend a bowl of mixed nuts in the evening if temptation creeps in! Or a bowl of natural yogurt with some chopped or frozen fruit added.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 01/09/2026 13:51

Signing in!

Keeping up with my gym routine is my September goal. Lots of muscle incoming (hopefully!).

Thank you @TheRealHousewife

Positivepositron · 01/09/2026 14:26

Signing up for September!
The youngest is back in school tomorrow so we've been out for a treat meal today, pizza and tiramusu at a local Italian. Skipped breakfast and aiming for a small dinner to partially make up for it. But felt like a worthwhile treat.
Hopefully won't blow tomorrow's weigh in. Full routine won't be back to normal until next week. But been for an hour long walk today and some paddle boarding tomorrow followed by weights. Me and DH are also possibly doing 30 days of 100 sit ups. I'm on day 3, he's on day 4. We will see how it goes. Hoping to up the weight loss to 1lb a week as its going painfully slowly at the moment, nearer half a pound a week.

HeboreoMaltian · 01/09/2026 16:16

Please may I join?

I can (and want to) commit to everything you've listed above, apart from good sleep.

I had a big BH weekend so have avoided the scales today. I'll weigh myself tomorrow and check-in. I think I want to lose about 4-5kgs. I'm not overweight but I feel chunky and loose. I want to tighten and tone up.

ToddlersAreBananas · 01/09/2026 19:56

@LegoTherapy that was wonderful to read, thank you! Very inspiring too ❤️

Bufftailed · 01/09/2026 22:03

Checking in.

Got to 4kg off in September (over 3 months), but plateauing again despite loads of exercise & not eating v much. I think my body clings on as long as possible! 2 x 10 km runs this month and hoping for another 1 kg off.

V focused on sleep like others.

Will weigh in tomor!
