OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from ⭐️⭐️

Here we are with our LOSE IT! Superfood September 2026! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!
I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

I’m 2lbs down today too. Day 2 back on the wagon.

Positivepositron · 03/09/2026 14:46

Today has gone well so far.
50 minute brisk walk done.
50 minutes weights and 10 minutes abs done.
Eaten two weetabix and milk for breakfast, salad with meatballs and mozzarella for lunch and a turkey and veg tray bake planned for dinner. Total of 1,143 calories. So I can have a boiled egg or something if needed before dinner.
There will be less activity tomorrow as need to go to the office but hopefully do some yoga, a bit of walking and complete day 6 of my 100 sit ups a day challenge.

SummerHols2026 · 03/09/2026 15:47

Back in the office today, I forgot how painful it is to watch everyone else eating 🤣

I take enough food for myself but it’s just so tempting, especially when there’s a box of cakes on the side or an open packet of biscuits.

Was really glad to stay strong and I’m heading to an exercise class later tonight. Might weigh myself in the morning just to see how I’m doing and hopefully give me that motivation to resist tomorrow as well.

Fellsbells · 03/09/2026 17:47

The kitchen is closed for today and it’s only 5:30pm. I’ll go to bed early to avoid eating. I know I can happily eat 1600 calories a day and not be hungry, I just need to get into the habit again and get over the sugar cravings from all the junk I’ve eaten recently.

Mash88 · 04/09/2026 07:08

Forgot to post my WOW - gained a pound.
CW 11.4
GW 10.0 (maybe just an interim)

Well done on the lovely losses everyone. Starting some weight sessions from Monday instead of focusing on swimming. Hoping this helps with general body shape and tone up.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 04/09/2026 07:33

Period is here this week so I'm not weighing myself until it's gone.
Managed 21571 steps yesterday, and can feel every one of them this morning!

Have a great day everyone!

FancyKitten · 04/09/2026 07:40

I’m joining! Weighed myself yesterday.

I know everything… Just need to do it.

Fellsbells · 04/09/2026 07:59

Another 1lb off today. Getting the food/water weight off after a blow out is satisfying! It would normally take me a month to drop 3lbs.

Wow what did you do to get that many steps?

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 04/09/2026 08:49

Positivepositron · 04/09/2026 08:27

Wow what did you do to get that many steps?

Walk the dog 30 minutes before school, walk the school run, walk back home, walk to work, on my feet all day at work, walk the school run again, walk the dog again!

Positivepositron · 04/09/2026 10:12

Impressive you must be walking miles and miles, even when I was running half marathons I'd rarely get to 20,000 steps. Hard to fit into the day I imagine while working.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 04/09/2026 10:34

@Positivepositron 16k yesterday. Walking at work certainly helps. I'm in a kitchen so there's no sitting down, we don't have any seats!

Positivepositron · 04/09/2026 11:25

Yes definitely. My job is mainly office based so very little in the way of steps. No wonder I was so slim when I worked in a cafe in my youth, being young helped too of course!
Random breakfast/ lunch for me today. Cobbled together in a hurry. Two boiled eggs, some sweetcorn and tomatoes and a bottle of Huel. Dinner will be haddock and lentil Dahl. So totalling 1100 if nothing else. Imagine I will tip it up with something though and end on about 1250.
Half hour dog walk completed, hopefully squeeze in a half hour of yoga too but doubt there will be more activity than that done today unfortunately.

HeboreoMaltian · 04/09/2026 14:55

54.2KG this morning.

I'd like to drop 2KG in September.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 05/09/2026 07:24

Checking in for Sept I’ve been calorie counting again for the last week after a more relaxed August! Need some inspiration for low cal meals and accountability so I'm back - if I can get to 9st by Christmas I will be made up!

PatienceOfEngels · 05/09/2026 09:50

Morning all! Hope everyone has had a good back to school week (in England & Wales? I know Scotland is earlier, not sure about NI). Over here in NL our area has already been back 3 weeks and it feels like the 6 week holiday never happened 😂Last period of the day yesterday I almost succumbed to a hot chocolate (even though I know it'd make me crash half way through the lesson) but the drinks machine was smiling on me and would only spit out lukewarm milk so had a satsuma instead 🍊

Went food shopping last night and picked up a few treats for the house but managed to swerve a snack when I got home. Scales are looking good and on track for a small loss this week if I can stick to my rules (specifically no snacking after dinner!).

Today:
-boiled egg, rye toast, 2x coffee
-soup & bread
-spaghetti bolognese

Getting some air watching DC play sport and might go for a walk after dinner.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 05/09/2026 10:08

Morning all! I had a period-induced attack of the sweets last night but didn't go overboard and I'm back in the zone today.
Going to make mushroom and barley soup today and the child wants to cook beef stew (she's very very restricted in what she will eat so I'm encouraging her to cook things in the hope she'll eat them- she actually made and ate veg pasta sauce last week)
And a big walk with the dog later.

Fellsbells · 05/09/2026 11:15

0.6lb off this morning. I’m back on track and into good habits again.

Positivepositron · 05/09/2026 13:07

Not sure what happened yesterday after being on track for a sensible low calorie day I went completely off plan and had loads of snacks, was just starving.
Today I haven't eaten well or sensibly but hoping to just be strict now for the rest of the day. I haven't gone over calories today just eaten not very filling food like white toast and butter.
Still I'm 6 days into my 100 sit ups a day challenge. It's pretty ouchy!

SummerHols2026 · 05/09/2026 13:14

Soup for lunch here too! Stir fry for dinner. Going to do a half week weigh tomorrow, hopeful for a small loss as have been really good all week!

This is my go-to low calorie meal. It's delicious and filling. I halve the butter. If you're not dieting or if you're cooking for others, it's easy to make it bigger with vegetable sides and bread

I’m a massive fan of prawns. Decent sized ones are so expensive in the uk. I need to get back to Costco and get some big frozen bags of them. They’re fabulous protein apparently.

We were out for dinner last night which was very tasty. Today has been good choices and I have a plan for tomorrow. The scale is bouncing all over the place, so I assume I’m somewhere between 13 st 5 and 7, and will settle now we’re back into a more regular routine.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 05/09/2026 22:06

@HeboreoMaltian thankyou for the recipe! Looks awesome I will deffo try it as I love prawns 😊💪💜 I got on the scales earlier and just cannot believe they are reading 9st 11 when I was 9st 5 at the start of June - I didn’t think I’d gone off the rails that much!!! I’m hoping some is water weight surely from eating salty stuff.

10kstepsaday · 05/09/2026 23:37

I have stuck to my calories for the last few days hurrah!
Feeling positive.

I love prawns too but I am a bit scared of eating them as bad terrible food poisoning once from them 😥 scarred me for life!!

Fellsbells · 06/09/2026 07:45

Went off piste yesterday afternoon, not too badly, no broken legs! Back on it today.

Also prioritising my mental health this month. After a difficult summer I’ve got anxiety and all sorts of perimenopause symptoms wiping me out.
