OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from ⭐️⭐️

Here we are with our LOSE IT! Superfood September 2026! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!
I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

SummerHols2026 · 09/09/2026 21:24

Happy Birthday @DreamingOfGeneHunt! Birthday calories most definitely do not count!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 10/09/2026 09:02

Morning all! Such a beautiful autumnal day here. I do love this time of year.
Back on it today, I've got a nice day of meals planned out -
Yoghurt and muesli for breakfast
Spicy rice, tuna, cannelini beans and cherry tomatoes for lunch
Vegetable crumble, new potatoes and pineapple jelly for dinner.

Hope everyone has a great day!

LemonDrizzle23 · 10/09/2026 16:00

@DreamingOfGeneHunt definitely no weighing on your birthday! Hope you had a good one.

Welcome @CanIRunYet it’s really annoying when injury puts you out of exercise. I hope you find a good balance over the next few months til you can get back to running.

Reasonable start to the week. We’re away for the weekend, but only having one meal out. Determined not to let the weekend run away from me!

Rosetime · 10/09/2026 18:40

✨️Happy Birthday, @DreamingOfGeneHunt !!!!
Hope you had a lovely day.

10kstepsaday · 10/09/2026 20:10

Food sounds yummy @DreamingOfGeneHunt

I have been having protein thin bagels with cream cheese for breakfast, smoothies for lunch and then my normal dinners (DH cooks so they usually just rotate). Snacks have been minimum - sometimes a babybel cheese or an arla chocolate pudding.

PatienceOfEngels · 11/09/2026 06:40

@Rosetime thank you for your self care tips. When I'm doing things like this I feel so much better but everything seems to have slipped! Going to make a self care plan for more moments of stillness for my mind and movement for my body.

@DreamingOfGeneHunt I love autumn as well! Hope you had a good birthday.

@CanIRunYet welcome! My running days are unfortunately behind me. I ran all the way through my 30s then the pandemic hit and life got even harder than before and it fell by the wayside. Stress related pelvic issues a few years later meant my physiology advised lower impact cardio and I've never managed to get back into it.

Bodies are funny old things. On Wednesday I put on 1.1kg with wow, and just weighed myself this morning to find I've lost 1.4kg! Swings and roundabouts. Going to try and make good choices this weekend, even with my overnight stay. The evenings are my danger time. last night I resisted the pull of nuts/cheese/bread and had a red grapefruit instead.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 11/09/2026 07:13

I’ve been doing well this week and I’m happy that I’ve banked plenty of calories to enjoy my family gathering tomorrow evening! I’ll still be counting but I know it’ll be within my weekly count so that’s great. It’s been a lot easier to make good choices being back in the full routine of work and school as well!

Dinner tonight is tuna pasta bake, broccoli, peas and salad - I’ll have a small portion of the bake and larger portion of veg and salad 😊👌

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 11/09/2026 07:42

Weighed myself this morning and was 14 stone 5, which considering the amount of cake I've had over the last two days is something of a miracleGrin

HeboreoMaltian · 11/09/2026 10:17

I fear the next few days won't be brilliant for the diet.

Today I've sorted out my freezer and having a chicken tender roll for lunch to use some stuff up. I can't eat a roll without crisps so there's that too. My usual lunch is about 350cal but this will be about 500cal. Normal evening meal though, so should still be under calories overall.

The weekend will be fine because we have a rotating cast of calorie counted/controlled meals.

Monday to Wednesday next week I'm away with work. It's so hard to count calories when you're eating out or grabbing food at foreigner shops. Plus, being away from home and travelling is shit so I don't want to add being bloody starving on top of that. I'll be sensible and make good choices where possible though.

I have a training session booked tonight then I might do a circuit class in the morning. But then I'm exercise-free until next Thursday. The hotel I'm at next week has a gym but I don't want to hump gym kit with me too.

Fellsbells · 12/09/2026 08:54

Checking in, still not sticking with calories, but haven’t completely lost the plot so it’s not all bad. Can’t work out why I’m suddenly so hungry. Probably a combination of medication, hormones, stress and eating badly.

Today is a new day, Just need to try again.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 12/09/2026 09:20

Back to 14 stone 4.

TheRealHousewife · 12/09/2026 10:53

Good Morning All ❤️

I hope you’re all doing great and seeing the results you deserve 👍👌👏

We had to cut short our holiday as I developed a bad case of sciatica. This year feels like I’ve gone through one health issue after another. I’ve not been posting or keeping up as pain kinda messes with your concentration and confidence. I am looking forward to easier/healthier times and generally being more involved and supportive 😊 (I have been reading one of the Royal threads that’s been a welcome distraction 🤭)

On another note I must be the only user of a GLP1 that’s gained weight. Yes really. One issue is I have to eat more often in order to take pain meds plus the meds make my body hang onto water/waste etc. The other theory I have is I had to have a GLP1 break when I got an infected insect bite and I had a long course of strong antibiotics that I’m sure has affected my gut lining. (I realise they strip your microbiome and I’ve been mainlining probiotics, live yoghurt, kefir and kimchi etc). Pre antibiotics I was getting some appetite suppression and post antibiotics absolutely none. At the end of this prescription I’m switching to the injection 👍

Ill try to catch up with you all but my attention span has reduced to that of a goldfish 😅

PS - I do miss ‘chatting’ with you all but at the moment my tanks a bit empty xx

PPS - I’ve been craving home made minestrone soup and my goal today is to make a batch. This is some I previously made.

@TheRealHousewife , hope you are back to your normal self soon. Really lovely to read from you.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 12/09/2026 12:24

@TheRealHousewife hello! Sciatica is bloody awful, sending you loads of sympathy x

FridayNighFeeling · 12/09/2026 18:57

Hi all, just a quick check in, have not had a chance to weigh and period now arrived Hmm

@Fellsbells can you just try and prioritise protein to help you feel full without worrying too much about calories?

I'm sorry to hear that @TheRealHousewife you've certainly had your share of health woes!

ToddlersAreBananas · 12/09/2026 21:39

Hope you're feeling better soon @TheRealHousewife and that soup looks really good!

I'm weighed myself this morning and I'm the same as the past 2 weeks. This is actually a surprise
because
(oh, confession time I suppppppose)
...
on Wednesday DH brought home from work a large selection box of dark choc M&S biscuits (I'm the only one in this house who likes dark choc AND they were finished by Friday), and on Thursday I went to a local artisan bakery and bought a sourdough loaf and a brownie and a cinnamon swirl and a "duffin". Oops.

TealSloth · Yesterday 11:06

Hi all hope your all well. This year has been a tough year for me. Am hoping before this year ends I have some pounds shreaded off me. Health wise am not doing too bad. But keeping a track of what am having has been bad

I've not been able to stop eating junk food but am hoping this week coming I have a better start and a better ability to avoid all crap eating.

Cardio wise ive done good. Only area I need to work on is count them calories and stay away from all junk food.

SummerHols2026 · Yesterday 11:30

I had a Krispy Kreme yesterday and it wasn’t worth the calories 😭 it tasted completely stale in the middle. Other than that, doing ok. Sticking to all my other food related targets so hoping for at least one pound off on Wednesday.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · Yesterday 12:05

14 stone 3 today! Only 3lbs to my first goal.

LemonDrizzle23 · Yesterday 19:03

@TheRealHousewife sorry to hear about your sciatica. I had it when pregnant and i can still clearly remember the pain. Horrible times!
@DreamingOfGeneHunt you’re doing so well - very consistent losses, I swear that’s the trick. Just slowly keep it ticking down.

Definitely no calorie deficit here this weekend 😬 We were in a vaguely crappy air bnb all weekend and apart from Saturday night dinner, I think I’ve been living on cheese sandwiches, crisps and fruit pots since Friday afternoon….
