OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from ⭐️⭐️

Here we are with our LOSE IT! Superfood September 2026! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!
I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

I have stuck to my calories for the last few days hurrah!
Feeling positive.

I love prawns too but I am a bit scared of eating them as bad terrible food poisoning once from them 😥 scarred me for life!!

I've done that recipe without the prawns before and it still worked - I added more cannellini beans for bulk and doubled the lemon and parsley for a bit more flavour.
I tried it with chicken thighs once too. The taste was lovely but I wasn't keen on the texture of chicken with beans.

10kstepsaday · 06/09/2026 10:27

@HeboreoMaltian I will give it a try without the prawns! Sounds delicious!!

SummerHols2026 · 06/09/2026 11:25

Currently chomping on an apple, had a banana already and 2 wheetabix. I’m not calorie counting, I’m just trying really hard to make mindful choices and for some reason I feel ravenous today!

I weighed myself this morning and another pound off so hoping that will still be the case on Wednesday 🤞

Rosetime · 06/09/2026 19:00

I lost 600g in the last two weeks (I weigh sunday morning). I am now 200g away from my target weight!!
I have not been great with exercise, sleep and water intake recently but have kept to my calories.

Congratulations to all losers.

@Fellsbells , prioritising mental health is great. I always get depressed this time of the year. I have already started doing all my supportive measures.

@10kstepsaday , food poisoning is horrendous. I had one as a teenager, i have been forever cautious till this date no matter how hungry i am or how much i like the food etc.

Wishing everyone a lovely week ahead.

FridayNighFeeling · 06/09/2026 19:07

You've done amazingly @Fellsbells look after yourself Flowers

Fellsbells · 06/09/2026 21:29

@Rosetime if you’re happy to share what are your supportive measures?

I’m over maintenance calories today, but not by too much. It’s been a busy day and I needed some Lemon drizzle cake to get through it.

LegoTherapy · 07/09/2026 07:02

Morning all, here’s to a successful week. I was worrying that my step count/mileage would be significantly down with not walking Ds to school. I’ve just checked my app and my average over the year is 6 miles/14,500 steps a day so I’m happy with that as it takes into account the days I’ve had a pj day or done very little and the days I’ve walked 12-14 miles. An average of well above the recommended is not to be sniffed at. I guess this is why I didn’t gain weight over the summer despite the lack of school run. In fact I lost a little.
I’m still eating too much chocolate. Porridge is prepped for breakfast and I’ll be walking a fair bit today. Tomorrow very little as I have an all day meeting from 9-5. Joy.
Have a great week and remember the little things count and there’s no such thing as a bad food, it’s just that some are less healthy than others. There’s no moral value to a snickers over an apple. My stomach is full of acid after some fruit but never after chocolate and a snickers would actually satisfy my hunger. I’m making apple crumble today/ the crumble bit is prepped but I need to stew the apples. That’s the kind of apple I can get behind. I love it cold for breakfast. On its own if cold for breakfast, or with vanilla ice cream or custard if for pudding. I’m not a fan of pie though. Dd wants to make butter pie. It’s a Lancashire thing apparently. Potato, onions and butter in pastry. I’ll try and make it but I’m not a pastry lover. Crumble on the other hand. Oh yes. I wonder what a savoury crumble topping would be like instead… She mentioned gravy. The devil’s diarrhoea 🤮 No thank you.

LemonDrizzle23 · 07/09/2026 11:27

@LegoTherapy butter pie sounds incredible!! I have left over cooking apples, so will also be making some stewed apple.

I’ve been back listening to Zoe podcasts this week. An interesting one about stress and another about insulin resistance. It doesn’t entirely boil down to “make sure you’re a healthy weight”, but no matter what they’re discussing, it always seems to be a large part of it. Gives me motivation to keep plodding on!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 07/09/2026 16:25

I'm having a couple of days off the diet. I'm knackered, I'm hungry, I've got the period from hell, I've got a bloody cold sore now as well, and I'm fed up with all of it!

So I'm going to just have two or three days without any calorie counting.

Hi @Fellsbells .

I can share. A lot of it is just self-care but i take particular time to do these things consistently and routinely. I usually start as August gets to the end.

  • In the mornings, first 30mins sitting quietly by myself - i check in with myself and indentify one thing to look forward too. I don't start doing anything for the day without first finding that quiet check-in time.
  • String up fairy lights in parts of the house i spend the most time (this really helps alot)
  • A 6 session counselling block
  • Start Antidepressants (used to be the big ones but eventually settled on St John's Wort)
  • 15 mins decompress alone time when i get in from work (i absolutely need this. That time of the day is a trigger)
  • Plan fun things/things i enjoy every few weeks/long walks in certain places
  • Deep tissue or sports massage (that's what the GP recommended)
  • 30 mins end of day quiet me time (i sometimes have a cup of tea or listen to music or read or just sit quietly decompressing)

Nothing fancy. But i think the intentionality of it is what makes the difference for me.
By December, i am usually feeling better and do not need as much. But that end of August/early September and transitioning into winter can be brutal.

Do you have the same thing? SAD.

Fellsbells · 07/09/2026 22:19

@Rosetime thank you for sharing. The way you approach this is very impressive. I will take it onboard and borrow some tips.

I don’t have SAD. Mine is hormone driven. For whatever reason I am particularly sensitive to the rollercoaster of my hormones and recently it has triggered a level of anxiety that is impacting every day life.

(today has been a calorie right off, but hormones)

SummerHols2026 · 07/09/2026 22:34

Checking in. Today has been quite tough in terms of resisting picking whilst making food. Tonight I had some pieces of chicken satay with no sauce. It was really tasty and made a nice change to the nuts and yoghurts I have been having in the evenings.

The thought of weighing in on Wednesday morning should keep me focused tomorrow and I have made a big salad for lunch.

HeboreoMaltian · 08/09/2026 17:48

This morning I was 0.6kg down since Friday morning. Woohoo.

10kstepsaday · 09/09/2026 06:21

1.4 lb loss this week, and body fat is showing at 0.6% less (not sure how reliable that number is on the scale!).

Pleased with that :-)
Have been very strict with calories staying at 1400, have said no to foods I sometimes really wanted though and gone to bed hungry :( it's not been that fun but I know I want to finally lose this last stone/stone and half more than I want the junk foods etc.

SW: 10 st 8.0 (1st June)
CW: 10 st 5.0
GW: 9st 7

Good luck everyone and well done!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 09/09/2026 06:31

Morning! Maintaining here at 67kg exactly. All good. Good luck wowers!

AuutumLeaves1983 · 09/09/2026 06:38

Good morning. Well done, everyone.

After my panic last week when I hit my heaviest ever weight (apart from pregnancy), I’ve thankfully not gone over 9st again since last week.

SW (02.09.26): 9st1
Current (Happy scale moving average): 8st12.6
Target weight: 8st0

LemonDrizzle23 · 09/09/2026 06:54

Morning WOWers!

Weighing in today looks like a 1.6lb loss, which gets rid of most of the gain of the last few weeks. Still bouncing around a bit, so not sure quite how accurate any of the last few weigh ins have been. But I’ll take it!

SW: 15 st 8.5
CW: 13 st 5.4
Next Goal: 12 st 12

Good luck to everyone weighing in. I know being back in a routine is helping me after the summer holidays.

PatienceOfEngels · 09/09/2026 07:37

Having a bit of a blip this week, but self-inflicted! I broke my rule of no eating/snacking after dinner on 5 nights out of 7 (even though it was a small snack each time). Need to get back on it and be more consistent. Have an overnight hotel stay this weekend (so lunch/dinner/breakfast out of routine). Will be doing lots of walking to make up for it.

Wow = + 1.1kg

SW 79.1kg 10/08/26 (BMI 29.1)
CW 77.8kg (BMI 28.something!)
GW1 67.9kg (for a BMI under 25)
GW2 63.5kg (BMI 23.3)

10/08/26 79.1kg
19/08/26 77.1kg
26/08/26 77.1kg
2/9/26 76.7kg
9/9/26 77.8kg

Fellsbells · 09/09/2026 07:59

Well done wowers. Good luck if you’re yet to weigh.

I’ve maintained which is a miracle considering the yo-yo behaviour I’ve shown in the last week. Things are more stable now so I’ll be more consistent.

Need to get refocused on what works for me. Higher protein. Eat more veg. Ditch sugar and mountains of carbs. Don’t get hungry.

SummerHols2026 · 09/09/2026 08:00

Weighed in this morning and stayed the same as this time last week, which is… baffling? Because when I did a midweek weigh I was 2lbs down and I haven’t done anything differently since!! If anything I’ve upped my exercise and eaten pretty much the same.

The thing is, I feel great! My energy levels have improved significantly since I started cutting out sugar and highly processed foods, so needless to say I’ll be continuing.

My aim for this time next week is 1lb down. In the meantime, I’ll just carry on doing what I’m doing.

ToddlersAreBananas · 09/09/2026 08:30

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 09/09/2026 08:58

Morning! Not weighing myself until next week. It's my birthday today and birthday calories aren't getting counted!!
I'll be back on it next week, I want to be 13 stone 4 by Christmas and 1lb a week should get me there.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 09/09/2026 09:27

Morning! My approach this time is to be weighing every day if I remember and hopefully getting a better picture of trends etc, so I have weighed in this morning -

SW : 9st 11 point something 😂
CW : 9st 10.7
GW : 9st

the nearest I have got to 9st was back in May when the scales said 9st 3.5 but that was the start of me relaxing on my calorie counting which didn’t affect me toooo badly until it got more summery, I was going out more for dinner and drinks with friends etc and taking the kids out and going away on hols - it’s so crazy how the weight comes back on though, I admit I wasn’t calorie counting and was eating more takeout and having more drinks etc but not to an outrageous amount! Or so I thought 😂😒 anyway back on it now, and I do feel brighter and better in myself in general for the past couple weeks being back on thinking more about what I’m eating and also cutting back on alcohol - though I will miss my midweek glass of wine tonight! 😭 We’ve got a family social event on Saturday so I’m banking calories to ‘spend’ then - will deffo enjoy some Prosecco at the weekend 😂👍🏻👍🏻

Mash88 · 09/09/2026 15:12

Maintain again this week. Happy with that. Slight blip at the weekend and melt down comparing myself to my partner who can eat what he bloody wants and stay stick thin.
We move onwards.

CanIRunYet · 09/09/2026 15:57

Can I join - I suspect I need to lose ~10lbs that has crept back on since January. Managed to lose 1st end of last year but its sneakily made its way back.

I am a runner usually, but have buggered my ankle and physio says I'll be out of the game for a few months minimum, so I fear the weight is gonna skyrocket without running to keep some calorie burn going.

Plan of action - calorie counting, limited to 1,300/day. I am short at 5ft 2, so my daily burn is quite low generally if not exercising (1,700). Usually I'd go to 1,200 but physio is keen for me to ensure I have enough calories to get adequate protein in to help healing, and avoid stressing my body during this phase. It's gonna be a slow but hopefully steady slog! Hoping to have shifted most of it by Xmas!

Will weigh in tomorrow, as didn't do it this morning!
