OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from ⭐️⭐️

Here we are with our LOSE IT! Superfood September 2026! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!
I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Signing in for September.
Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife .
I have not been present here for a few weeks, life just chucking lemons, oranges, mangoes etc and me just running around trying to make smoothies. I enjoy working out but had to spend all available time sorting out some stuff.
This month, I would like to get back into strength training and body recomposition. That will be my focus.
Enjoy your holidays @TheRealHousewife . You have completed your antibiotics course, i believe. Hope you are feeling better.

Fellsbells · 02/09/2026 06:32

I’ve put 4lbs on in the last 10 days due to a holiday and celebrating. This morning I’ve cut my calorie allowance down slightly back into a small deficit. I’ve been so hungry for the last few days and have fallen severely off the wagon. I need to stop the junk food and get back into the good habits I’ve had all summer.

sodoffbeforemycupofcoff · 02/09/2026 06:51

Thanks for the thread!
I will definitely be interested in this.
I have been trying not to eat from 7pm-10am which worked great for me but with the colder mornings I’m struggling again now so I am trying to eat eggs if I do eat. Trying being the key word.
I can’t stop eating bread at the moment. Garlic bread, bread with butter etc. it needs to stop. My issue is that I let myself get so hungry that wild cravings start! I am off sugar though although I have had a couple cheeky treats this week which I’m trying hard not to have more of! Any pointers would be great.

ToddlersAreBananas · 02/09/2026 07:02

I'm going to weigh in in a bit: I'm hoping for a loss, but even if I don't get one this week it doesn't matter as I've enjoyed this week...
This past week I've been trying to make lifestyle improvements - small changes which make my everyday feel a bit more special. The biggest has been my walks - I don't like doing exercise for exercise' sake 'to be healthy', and I realllly dont like the idea of doing exercise to loose weight. I want to enjoy it - so I've been going a little further away to do some very pretty walks in the valley - when it's not been chucking down! Its time consuming and a faff to do this - esp when my walks are only a couple of miles, if that 😅

10kstepsaday · 02/09/2026 07:04

WOW = 10 st 6.4 lbs
Goal = 9 st 7.0

LemonDrizzle23 · 02/09/2026 07:07

Morning WOWers!

Right, first WOW of September (and for several weeks…) and it looks like I’ve put on nearly 2lbs in the last few weeks. Not a shock at all as I know what I've eaten, but still annoying.

SW: 15st 8.5
CW: 13st 7
Next goal: 12 st 12

Last day of summer hols today, so back to routine tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone weighing. New school year, new us!

PatienceOfEngels · 02/09/2026 07:09

Morning all!

-0.4kg off this week🎉

SW 79.1kg 10/08/26 (BMI 29.1)
CW 76.7kg (BMI 28.2)
GW1 67.9kg (for a BMI under 25)
GW2 63.5kg (BMI 23.3)

10/08/26 79.1kg
19/08/26 77.1kg
26/08/26 77.1kg
2/9/26 76.7kg

Feeling good that I'm chipping away, even though a long way to go. No nights out/events in the next 10 days which should help.

Today -
-boiled egg, slice rye toast w butter, 2x coffee
-something out of freezer - maybe soup with a slice of bread.
-breaded fish with jacket potato, broccoli and carrots

Movement - walk round town in a bit and cycle to pick up DC later.

@ToddlersAreBananas I find being in nature really helps me relax (which soemtimes involves a 10 minute car drive as we live in the suburbs), or fitting in a short urban walk round the leafy expensive neighbourhood next to me or canal.

Positivepositron · 02/09/2026 07:13

So had a little bump from eating out at the Italian restaurant, hopefully water and food volume only.
SW: 62kg
CW: 58.9kg
GW: 50-54kg
Had a low of 58.7 yesterday but still a loss from last Wednesday.

AuutumLeaves1983 · 02/09/2026 07:38

Good morning.

Time for a September reset as my weight this morning was the heaviest I’ve ever been (apart from pregnancy). I’m fairly short and very small framed. I was 9st1 this morning and there’s something psychological about tipping into the next stone that has really frightened me. I’ve spent my whole adult life around 8st and it’s really scary how I’ve just gradually gained a stone over a year. It’s the slow creep that has panicked me. I’m still (just) a healthy BMI at the moment, but I need to reverse this gain. Step 1 is to stop the gradual gain. I genuinely feel quite panicked this morning at seeing a weight I’ve never seen before but I’m going to take a breath and move forwards.

I was on the last couple of threads (with a different username) but I’m going to post my stats as today as Day 1.

SW (02.09.26): 9st1
Target weight: 8st0

Plumstrum · 02/09/2026 07:42

Wow today 74 kg
hoping to get to 64 kg
I want it to be achievable so just half a kilo per week would be fine for me

socks1107 · 02/09/2026 07:45

So… 2lbs this week which takes me to goal!!
20 months, 3.5 stone lost, a lot of plateaus the longest being this last six months and last 6/7lbs but I am here. After the plateaus I feel I can manage maintaining by cc Sunday to Friday and being a little more free on Saturdays. Not mad just a bit easier and still weighing and logging everything but with a glass of wine or a meal out.

SW 13.13
CW 10.5
GW 10.5

could not have done it without these boards I’m so so grateful to everyone and @TheRealHousewife

ill stick around for the chats, the maintenance and just being accountable. Maybe I can help others with any tips they need.

Well done @socks1107 ! That's amazing progress. Stick around to inspire me to keep going 😅

SummerHols2026 · 02/09/2026 08:02

Congratulations @socks1107! Chipping away certainly does work over the longer term.

@ToddlersAreBananas it’s interesting what you said about wanting to enjoy your walks. Last night I got off the sofa and went for a walk around the neighbourhood at 8:30 and it was dark and I really didn’t enjoy it. I just felt really vulnerable on my own and although I know the area well it’s different at night.

I weighed in this morning and I am another 2lb down. That’s a total of 6lbs over the summer break. I’m hopeful my work clothes will look and feel a bit better.

Aiming for 1lb this week, which will take me to half a stone.

Bufftailed · 02/09/2026 08:16

Congrats @socks1107 inspiring us

Have hit a plateau and nothing is shifting. Any tips? I read if you go too far your body responds in kind, maybe it is that. The 4th kg I lost took weeks. Am not eating much and exercising loads. Am going to focus on sleep and early dinners this week. Want to be at 79 kg by end of month. Happy scales says I have lost 0.2 kg this week

SW 84 kg (May)
CW 80.1 kg
GW 72 kg

Good luck all.

ToddlersAreBananas · 02/09/2026 08:26

@socks1107 - well done, that must have taken a lot of will power!
@SummerHols2026 - darker nights are horrid - well done for getting out but be careful too xx

ToddlersAreBananas · 02/09/2026 08:33

SW - 10st 4lb

22.7.26 - 10st 4lb
5.8.26 - 10st 5lb
12.8.26 - 10st 4lb
19.8.26 - 10st 2lb
26.8.26 - 10st 2lb

CW 2.9.26 - 10st (and perhaps a half a pound, but hey, who's counting...)

Pleased with this - feel like everything is moving in the right direction, albeit slowly.

Goal - 9st 3lb by 1st December (pre-pregnancy weight)
Height - 5' 5"
Baby - 13 weeks old (ebf)

socks1107 · 02/09/2026 08:33

@Bufftailed thank you!

the only thing I’ve found with plateaus is either do a few weeks at maintenance or just keep riding it out. My last years loss has averaged a 0.3lbs a week. So slow and frustrating but it has come off eventually. I’ll be honest though the last 6lbs and six weeks has been in wegovy tablets. I’m not planning to stay on them but it did finish my weight loss and crack a six month plateau for me

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 02/09/2026 08:58

@socks1107 that's fab well done!!!

I haven't weighed myself today because we had a back to school Chinese for dinner, and I didn't go mad but I know I'll be up a bit this morning and it would annoy me so I'm waiting till tomorrow.

RoseInAPot · 02/09/2026 09:31

Well done to the losers, however slow, and empathy to the gainers/maintainers, I have clearly been doing nothing more than treading water over the summer but back to school (not literally!) for me after today.

Had a very bad night's sleep due to acid indigestion which only happens when I seriously overeat like I did yesterday so that has concentrated my mind this morning.

I’m using my Happy Scale trend weight, and started on 24th June (10 weeks ago) with a weight of 66.5kg.

I hit my first milestone (65.2kg) on 13th July but went back up to 65.4kg.
Trend weight 65.2kg this morning so a smidgeon up on last week's 65.1kg, but my actual weight this morning was 65.9kg, which was to be expected after yesterday's over indulgence.

Exercise continuing to go well, but have had a couple of niggling muscle injuries in calf and shoulder so my average steps over the last 7 days was 10100, and only one weight session. I am faithfully logging every calorie on Nutracheck and if I wasn't exercising I would certainly be gaining.

According to the trend then I’ve lost 1.3kg in total in 10 weeks; not much to show for my efforts but as many of us know even one day of indulgence can negate a whole week of being careful.

My next goal is to break the psychological barrier of 10 stones (63.5kg) and break through this self-inflicted sticky patch. I'm starting IF again tomorrow.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 02/09/2026 12:07

0.5lb gain this week, and honestly I’m really frustrated. I got down to 14st 12lbs on Monday. Today - 15st.

I know it’ll be water or retention of some sort, but those extra scale pounds have really got my back up today!

In other (completely unrelated 😅) news - we’re going to Tunisia at the end of this month, and having dropped 2-3 dress sizes, I gambled on some bikinis. Tried one on this morning - hate it. I cannot find a way to make it cover my stomach, I’ve got stretch marks peeking over the top of it. It’s been thrown back on the holiday clothes pile to be readdressed later.

May try again on a day I’m less irritated by my body!

LegoTherapy · 02/09/2026 19:19

Wow of 53.4kg. Broccoli and cheddar soup for dinner tonight and the porridge with chia is in the fridge ready for cooking in the morning.
Well done on the losses and equal well done to everyone who shows up regardless and carries on trying to be healthier.

FridayNighFeeling · 02/09/2026 21:01

Well done @socks1107 !

Bringmebacktothe90s · 02/09/2026 21:06

Checking in for September. My goals for this month are to bring a packed lunch for work everyday that I know the exact calories for, 10k steps a day, weights 3x per week and no takeaways. Would like to lose 4-5 pound.

Starting weight 19 stone 2
Current weight 18 stone 9

Positivepositron · 03/09/2026 09:19

I weighed this morning and was 58.2kg. So cleared the extra restaurant bump and an extra 500g overnight. Think it was hormonal water retention but it's the biggest loss I've had in one go on what's been very slow progress ( probably bump up again tomorrow!) But very pleased nonetheless. Closing in on 9 stone and that will be matching my lowest weight this year which was in February.

LemonDrizzle23 · 03/09/2026 10:41

Well this morning I am 2lbs lighter than yesterday morning - also my lightest weight ever 😂 so neither I, nor happy scale know what the hell is going on. I’m going to have to go back to daily weighing I think as I’m somewhat at sea after the last few weeks.

Got dressed for the school run today and put jeans on for the first time in about three months. They are all too big! Which is great, but not wildly helpful to find out at 8:25 on the first day of term 😂 so some shopping needs to be done!
