OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from ⭐️⭐️

Here we are with our LOSE IT! Superfood September 2026! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!
I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

I’m back at WoWing. This is the 3rd time I’ve tried to rejoin the thread since things went off-kilter for me at the start of summer. I really hope I can keep this up again this time :(

SW (01/01/2026): 102.1kg
CW: 90.85kg
Next GW: 85kg

I had reached that GW around May but had a horrible summer for undoing my efforts. I really hope things go well from here on out… 🙏

Well done to everyone for all your progress 💕

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 24/09/2026 08:55

Morning everyone! I missed weighing yesterday but was feeling confident I would have lost - nope scales this morning showing my initial weight when I rejoined the thread 😅😅😅 I am hoping my being ill is causing me to somehow retain every drop of water I consume 😂🙈🙈

SW: 9st 11.2
Last week: 9st 10.2
CW: 9st 11.1
GW: 9st 😮‍💨

SummerHols2026 · 25/09/2026 09:56

It’s quiet here this week! I weighed in this morning to give myself a couple more days because of my blip at the weekend. Very relieved to report that I stayed the same Grin

Not sure how but I’ll gratefully take it. Hoping this will help me refocus for this weekend and finally shift that 1lb for next week!

IceLollly · 26/09/2026 09:23

I have been absent since July. We had a holiday and various illnesses and I missed the gym for weeks.
Im only just getting back to it.
Today I weighed myself and I have put 1.1kg on. However recently I have been eating whatever I like, biscuits, the odd ice cream, extra bread?
I still have loads to lose, 9kg, no idea how to approach it now. I was struggling before to lose weight and now I’m not trying it’s not even made a massive difference.

SummerHols2026 · 26/09/2026 10:04

@IceLollly getting back in the swing of it is really hard. What I’ve done is go back to mindful eating. Just thinking about what I’m eating, how healthy it is, do I really want it etc

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 26/09/2026 16:42

I’ve been poorly this week with a cold and water comfort food but I have managed to do that in a mindful way - that’s a good tip @SummerHols2026😊👍🏻

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 27/09/2026 09:40

I'm 13 stone 13 this morning!

FridayNighFeeling · 27/09/2026 12:49

Well done @DreamingOfGeneHunt

I haven't weighed in about a month and I'm pleased to say that I'm down 1.8kg and in total -30lbs. My trousers all feel a lot looser, but having measured my waist with measuring tape, it hasn't gone down?! Who knows.

Trying to eat sensibly, busy with a new job, exercising where I can.

Hope you are all well!

LemonDrizzle23 · 28/09/2026 19:30

Hello! We are back from our long weekend away. So many tasty dinners and cocktails 🍸 September has been mayhem (in a good way) but life calms down a bit now, so I’m hoping to bring some focus to October.

Stepping on the scales feels like it might hurt 😂 so I will leave that joy for WOW I think.

TealSloth · 29/09/2026 07:59

This year it has been very hard to loose weight or stop eating junk. My binge eating and stress eating has become a habit to eat junk. Ive tried my level best not to over eat. Before I end this year I need to stop eating all junk food. Even a smallest issue or a problem. Even if i sat down to watch tv I would over eat.

I have sat down. Thought over and over again why am I doing this. Finally ive realised it's because of previous and pass experience of eating crap food. But I really need to be strong and let go of the bad habit. And it will start from now.

Hopefully with the willpower I will stop some of it I hope.

Plus the fizzy drink again bad habit.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 29/09/2026 08:27

You can do it @TealSloth- is there a certain food/flavours you really like that isn’t junk that you could have instead as a treat? I really love kimchi because it’s tangy and spicy so I have that as a snack a lot because it’s low in calories but has that sort of ‘junky treat’ feel?

TealSloth · 29/09/2026 08:38

@HappyLittleTreeFriend I have no favourites. I some how need to stop all junk. This group has helped me alot to control my cravings.

For some reason this year ive not been able to stop.

Normally a hot drink helps.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 29/09/2026 13:25

I also find hot drinks are a good sub for food when you feel like a snack! It’s helped me to keep my calorie count down having herbal teas for most of the day and just tea/coffee with oat milk and sugar in the morning - obvs the sugar adds up otherwise! 😊

PatienceOfEngels · 29/09/2026 15:17

Wowing a day early! - 0.3kg. and a BMI under 28 for the first time since February.

And NSV - wore a t-shirt to work yesterday that I've been avoiding all spring and summer because it felt too tight.

SW 79.1kg 10/08/26 (BMI 29.1)
CW 76kg (BMI 27.9)
GW1 67.9kg (for a BMI under 25)
GW2 63.5kg (BMI 23.3)

10/08/26 79.1kg
19/08/26 77.1kg
26/08/26 77.1kg
2/9/26 76.7kg
9/9/26 77.8kg
16/9/26 76.8kg
23/9/26 76.3kg
29/09/26 76kg

A few restful weeks with not many social activities has helped. Getting to bed on time, no evening snacking and very little of any kind of snacking. Still need to work on moving more though.

SummerHols2026 · 29/09/2026 21:09

@TealSloth I used to be the same in the evenings. Packet after packet of crisps. Open some biscuits and struggle not to finish the lot. Mini or fun sized chocolate bars, one after the other. I would get a headache and feel hungover the next morning.

I stopped buying food I liked, so crisps I only got the ones in for the kids. Packets of biscuits I just stopped buying and the chocolate bars I put in the fridge because I don’t like them cold.

That obviously helped but for me I started drinking a really large mug of tea each night. I swapped the unhealthy snacks for dried nuts, yogurt and fruit. Sometimes dry crackers. And once I made that swap I started to cut down on the quantity. Now I can have my tea and some crackers in the evening and nothing else, without too much difficulty.

I’m pleased to report I’m back to full focus. Just started HRT which is exciting because I’m so desperately hopeful it is going to help with some weird symptoms I’ve been having and my perpetual low mood. Keeping a journal for the first 6 weeks for the GP so that should also help me stay on track.

This sounds so like me. Am hoping my bad habits stop very very soon. For me its become a habit of eating bad food. Like you I just get them snacks for my kids but end up eating myself.
Thats something else I need to stop.
Thankyou foe sharing your experience

Good morning.

Well done @PatienceOfEngels on your lowest BMI since February and your NSV.

SW (02.09.26): 9st1
Current weight (Happy scale moving average): 8st12.3
Target weight: 8st0

Very, very slow but my Happy Scale trend is at least showing a very slight downward trend. My main aim is body recomposition (losing tummy fat) and stll a long way to go with that (far too much tummy fat!). But I know it will be slow as I’m trying to build a bit of muscle at the same time, doing home dumbbell workouts (I also average 20,000 steps a day, so feels a tricky balance to eat enough to fuel my body but still with a deficit to lose fat).

SummerHols2026 · Yesterday 06:42

@TealSloth I started this first day of the summer holidays and was initially looking to cut down on sugar. Then once I started to feel better in myself I kind of switched to mindful eating. So no calorie counting and no harsh exclusion diet just really thinking about was I actually hungry? Did I actually enjoy that food? Thinking hard about better food choices.

Waiting for the bathroom to be free so I can weigh in. Will be happy to stay the same this week as haven’t managed to exercise as much as I would like.

Good morning.
I do hope you stay on track. I count my calories every day or shall I say I try. Plus I weigh myself every day which helps me to stay on track on my number what I am. Today I weigh 14.5 my aim is 9.13. Again due to my bad eating ive not been able to reach my target.
Hopefully before this year ends i hope i pick up on good habits and stick with them.

Alot of areas will ease before 2027.
Hope tou have a positive day today.

I'm still 10st : I've been stuck at this weight for the whole of September. I need a new plan...

Diet: only eat whilst sitting down. No eating whilst standing up.

Movement: do movement every day. This can be: proper walk, run, decent gardening session, or body weight session. This will make me feel less like a slug (current feeling).

Fellsbells · Yesterday 10:01

Well done everyone. Really good to hear how everyone else is doing and what struggles we all face. I find it very easy to over eat and then stay in that habit.

I’m being kind to myself at the moment. Weight is up, but I’m still in my buffer area. I don’t want to go up any further though.
