⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from LOSE IT! Joyful June 2026

Here we are with our July Jumpstart LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Hi Everyone

Thank you for the well wishes. I’ve had to visit GP again as overnight the swelling and redness spread over an 1inch all the way around the pen line plus the area swelled outwardly considerably. Cellulitis and skin splitting is now present too. Prescribed a different higher dose antibiotic for a week then have to recommence the 3 week Lyme disease protocol. 4 weeks of antibiotics 😭. Also all manner of lotions and potions to treat the skin.

Hoping you all have a good WOW tomorrow 🤞❤️

Oh that sounds horribleSadglad you're getting it sorted but it must be bloody miserable x

oatybiscuits · 28/07/2026 14:47

@TheRealHousewife so sorry you're not well!! Hope the antibiotics work quickly

BreakingBroken · 28/07/2026 16:40

@TheRealHousewife positive thoughts and 🙏 on the jet stream coming your way. Hopefully all the drugs and tx kick in soon.

LemonDrizzle23 · 28/07/2026 17:24

@TheRealHousewife that’s a real bugger! Hopefully the antibiotics are a short term pain for long term wellness.

@DreamingOfGeneHunt I hope you enjoy your break!

Cruising through the second week of the summer hols here. Have avoided the usual holiday weight gain so far, due to walking and yoga every day and keeping the number of sandwiches to a minimum I think! But we’re only a week and a half in, there’s still time 😂

FridayNighFeeling · 28/07/2026 18:46

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this @TheRealHousewife I hope that things are starting to settle with the right kick butt ABs. It's a shame when you need to take them and start again with gut health.

I'm down 1kg/2lbs, so about -26lbs in total and a more accurate read on the scales. Will take that for this week's WI.

Osteo adjusted everything from knees to skull, so sore last night and today and had stupidly booked gym for this evening, so a bit ouch.

Going to do a look round at the dreaded uni to buy list - IKEA here we come!

I’m so sorry to read your update, you’ve really been through it! Hopefully new antibiotics willl work soon x

ChunkyMonkey36 · 28/07/2026 20:57

@TheRealHousewife

That sounds truly awful, hope you’re feeling better soon! Hopefully the antibiotics start doing their thing ASAP 🤞🏻 x

This morning’s daily weigh was 1.5lbs down on last week, 15st 2lbs. I’m under absolutely no illusion it’ll stick, but it was nice to see.

I’ve just ordered some clothes in 18s and 16s. Call it optimistic, or summer-holiday-stress-spending 😂. Some of them will be “target clothes.” It’s just nice to be able to buy clothes from “normal shops.” I was a size 20-22 a few months ago, and that wasn’t always the easiest to shop for!

10kstepsaday · 28/07/2026 22:37

Today was
B - chia seed pudding
L - on the go from Tesco : 2 hb eggs, a protein pouch, and some mango.
D - chicken sandwich
Snacks - 2 m&s choc rice cakes, black bean brownie

Did 40 mins of yoga stretches

Not confident for WOW tomorrow. When I weighed the other day I am exactly the same weight as starting July. So hoping for even a small decrease or movement in the right direction! 🙏🏻

Sunflowers83 · 29/07/2026 07:08

Good morning all.
@TheRealHousewife Hope you start to feel better soon.

Check-in today using my Happy Scale ‘moving average’.
SW (16.06.26): 8st13
Last week: 8st13.1
Current: 8st13.4
Target weight: ??8st?? (Lose tummy fat!)

None of this is ideal!!!

However, my actual weight this morning was 8st12.5 and I’ve not tipped back into the 9s again since my post & panic last week.

LemonDrizzle23 · 29/07/2026 07:16

Morning WOWers. Good luck for the last WOW of July!

I have a loss this week of 0.8lbs, taking my July loss to 2.2lbs over all. I think Im ok with that after a long weekend away, and the start of the school hols.

SW: 15 st 8.5
CW: 13 st 5.4
Next goal: 12 st 12 (6.4lbs to go…)

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 29/07/2026 07:20

14 stone 13 this morning. So I'm ending the month weighing more than I started!

Fellsbells · 29/07/2026 07:34

I’ve maintained this week. I’m sure I’m due a whoosh soon as I’ve been in a deficit.

good luck wowers.

10kstepsaday · 29/07/2026 07:43

Well I said I would take any such small decrease or movement in the right direction, and that's what I got so I'm happy with this. Loss of 0.8lbs this week.

Start Weight 1st June - 10 st 8.3 lbs
Current Weight - 10 st 5.0 lbs
Goal Weight - 9 st 7lbs

Also I'm not sure I trust the body fat percentage on my scales but this last week it has consistently shown 1% less than last week. Hoping that is a good sign!!

Well done WOWers for all efforts!!

Sending kind thoughts and best wishes for a speedy recovery @TheRealHousewife 💕

11st today
A little up in weight but a big down in emotions. I'm writing down my 'whys ' and giving myself a bloody good talking too. Reminding myself that I'm sick to death of looking and feeling like this.

I might do that!

TheRealHousewife · 29/07/2026 10:34

Good Morning All

Thank you for all your well wishes. The inflammation isn’t as red today but has slightly spread. It’s about 8 inches round and is still protruding but not as much. That said in my mind it’s starting to look better and I was able to sleep last night.

@mermadeincornwall What a lovely post & thank you. You can do it beautiful mermaid 🧜‍♀️ 👍

Well done on your losses @10kstepsaday @LemonDrizzle23 @Sunflowers83 For those unintentionally maintaining or had a little gain, congratulate yourself that you’re still being mindful & accountable. The hot weather doesn’t help (heat oedema) and then there is the natural fluctuations. Try not to worry 👍

WOW - 3lbs ⬆️. I must be the only person who’s been on a GLP1, eating in deficit and GAINED WEIGHT😅. As I’d only been taking it an around week before I stopped I need to start again at 1.5mg for 30 days before moving up to 4mg. Joking apart I’m sure the 3lbs is all the swelling etc.

First day of our holiday and my period turns up for the first time in two months! Which I daresay had something to do with my weight being up and down.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good Morning Everyone

I hope I’m not speaking too soon but I feel I’ve definitely turned a corner. The Cellulitis is only on a tiny bit of the inflammation and the inflammation itself has really subsided to a soft pink rather than fiery red. I have developed what looks like bruising. Still very bloated but antibiotics can do that to you. All in all feel great! Thank you NHS 😊

Menu
Meal 1 - Scrambled egg and avocado on gf slice toast.
Meal 2 - Spicy Chicken balls & salad.

Drinks - Tea, black coffee, green tea and water.
