Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

Hi everyone
Well what a fab loss you are all having ( me to) ☺
So pleased for all of us .
Well done and let's keep this going so by Christmas we should feel more comfortable around food and enjoying all the festivities
I weigh on Saturdays at Slimming world and hit my target last Saturday tho I am still trying for another 3 pound loss for Christmas so can have some Lee way over Christmas and new year.
👏

Take care and hopefully another fabulous week xx

LegoTherapy · 05/11/2025 14:18

Despite barely eating due to being ill I’ve gained 1kg thanks to salty crisps and not pooping 😩

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 05/11/2025 16:47

I haven’t weighed - I’m on my period, going to give myself another week of being good after all the birthday excess before I do weigh - but happy that I’ve had a good couple of days under my calorie count and feeling good in myself too!

L: Chicken, lentil and butternut soup with a slice of sourdough toast
D: Halloumi, kale, pesto, tomato and Butterbean bake

Snacks: Coffee and tea with oat milk, herbal teas and some mini shortbread biscuits!

FridayNighFeeling · 05/11/2025 17:37

Well done for getting to target and a good idea to build a bit of a buffer before Christmas @Emmadaily

Feel better soon @LegoTherapy

Fellsbells · 05/11/2025 18:16

Well done wowers, some remarkable total weight losses.

I’m closing the kitchen a few calories over, but nothing too bad. It would have been under, but stupidly I baked a ginger cake and a slab of it fell in my mouth.

Happy Bonfire night too.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 05/11/2025 18:59

Hello! Two pages in already.

i am completely off the boil, and have been for ages. I really need to find my mojo. I haven’t lost anything this year really and my exercise has gone out of the window. But I wanted to get this on my threads I’m on so I don’t lose track on you all.

work is super busy and stressful just now. I’m working late all the time. I am busy imparting and dealing with bad news all day every day just now. It should get much better at the end of this month so I’m hanging on in there.

but just now, when I finish late and it’s dark I just don’t have the energy for exercise. The saving grace is that we have healthy home cooked low calorie meals throughout the week.

Alwayslearning25 · 05/11/2025 20:45

@HappyLittleTreeFriend I was going to weigh myself tomorrow but I'm due on this week so like you, I'll leave it. I'm really unhappy with how fat I am at the moment, but don't have the motivation to stick to calorie counting....yet. today I did a trial excersice class. A dance style work out, targeted at mums. One where you can take your child. There was a baby and my nearly 3 year old, but he was good and enjoyed watching. I thought most/all would have kids with them but the other 4 women didn't have their children with them. I'll book myself in. I did feel fat found the curtsy move hard to balence as I have hypermobility and my tummy was in the way for some of the moves. But most of it was ok and she said how I can do it slowly. I need to buy good leggings though. Any recommendations? I live in dungarees and wore and old pair of joggers that I had to pull up a few times.

Captainladder · 05/11/2025 21:06

@Alwayslearning25 check out Rainbows and Sprinkes for really cool patterns, or I like snag ones for plain.
(and m and s ones usually good too!)

Witnesstheshitness · 05/11/2025 21:52

Meeting with people I havent seen in 17 years and was about a stone lighter - not planning to be healthy just lose the weight so aiming to cut out 400 cals a day for the next 10 days then keep in deficit after that. Good luck all

socks1107 · 05/11/2025 22:57

Kept under again today. After ten months I do a lot of it with my eyes shut now.
i do love a cheese sandwich but am mixing it up with tuna tmrw!

Nichebitch · 06/11/2025 06:59

Forgot to post yesterday- I weighted 76 kgs. A bit frustrating as I can see my pre-ozempic weight coming back, and I ended up having a pizza last night. Quite demotivated atm 😞

LegoTherapy · 06/11/2025 07:06

Nothing wrong with pizza @Nichebitch. Life’s for living and pizza is probably my favourite meal along with lasagne.

The salt weight has disappeared and back to 8st 8lb today so I’m happy with that.

WhitegreeNcandle · 06/11/2025 08:07

Oooh, Lasange is my all time fav comfort food!

I forgot to post yesterday but my weigh in this morning was 10st13.5 so about a 1lb down which I’m pleased with.

Im trying fasting today (for religious reasons, not dietary!). I’m a bit of a regular eater so am a bit nervous. I tried las week - aim was no food after sundown on Wednesday to sundown on Thursday. I only made it to lunchtime as I was doing such a physical job I was worried I’d faint! Much less physical today.

so today’s menu is just baked potatoes with tuna and coleslaw for tea.

@WhitegreeNcandle hope all goes well with your fast. I've been thinking of doing similar for religious reasons too. My DH does a mini fast on Tuesdays (no food until tea time) to pray for our church. I've only ever fasted a couple of times bit would love to use it more often as a spiritual discipline. Hope you are blessed today!

I'm feeling quite pleased with myself. Went for a run yesterday for the first time in ages. Only had a clementine as an evening snack instead of chocolate. And have not had my usual evening 'wind-down' glass of wine all week. Really trying to keep alcohol to weekends only.

Don't really have a plan for today except its chicken wings and homemade sweet potato wedges for tea. My legs are very stiff today so won't be doing exercise

Determinedloser · 06/11/2025 10:19

Found you all!

2.6lbs off this week.

SW 31/7 11 stone
CW 6/11 10 stone 3.4

Would love to hit 10 this month. Have cut my cals on my non running days as the losses were just so slow.

Keep going all of us!

Ionacat · 06/11/2025 17:59

Some fab weight loss!! I will retry my jeans next week as I need to give it a bit of time between attempts to see if there’s any difference.

I am still keeping going. I do not like these dark evenings as it’s very hard to go out for a run. I need to invest I think in a decent head torch and some very bright leggings. I’ve got a bright running jacket and the plan things afterwards like a luxurious hot bath!

socks1107 · 06/11/2025 18:04

@Determinedloser I’ve started lowering calories on wfh days too for the same reason: I’m more sedentary those days even though I do a weight routine so hoping it’ll shake things up a bit

It’s definitely worth a go isn’t it

PatienceOfEngels · 07/11/2025 06:55

Just weighed myself and back up to 74.9kg (so +0.8 in 2 days!). Think I just need to keep plowing on (resisting evening snacks is going well) and weigh myself next week.

Yesterday:

On plan - egg and toast, fruit, soup with bread/spread, greek yoghurt, pasta bake
Off plan - too much bread at lunchtime, piece of cake after lunch (colleague celebrating).

readyforsunshine · 07/11/2025 07:30

B - banana porridge w nuts & seeds & yoghurt
L - tuna salad stuffed pitta
D - baked sweet potato & chilli, yoghurt, apple & nuts
couldn't resist adding 2 glasses of red which not only left me wanting more to eat but disrupted my sleep! I just can’t drink anymore 😢

biscuitcat · 07/11/2025 07:38

Good morning all! My little victory for yesterday was not snacking after the kids were in bed with DH away.

Today’s menu:

B - Greek yoghurt with fruit
L - maybe eggs
D - steak and chips with spinach and tiramisu for dessert (possibly - a celebration dinner and we’ll delay it until tomorrow if I run out of time to make the tiramisu!)

socks1107 · 07/11/2025 08:21

Good morning all! Happy Friday.

Im down on the scale again today and consistently all week so fairly sure that plateau is broken. I’ve lost 3lb recorded weight this week and 1.5lbs moving average! Pretty happy.

doing a few things differently like calorie cycling and watching my macros and it’s kickstarted it all again luckily

FridayNighFeeling · 07/11/2025 08:22

Having the same issue @PatienceOfEngels - up a lb/ 0.5kg but probably just because I went a bit mad on the carbs.

B: hot chocolate and cake (outing with friend)
L: chicken and new potatoes
D: salmon, wild rice mix & broccoli

Need to try and avoid the snacking too.

Well done @biscuitcat

FridayNighFeeling · 07/11/2025 08:23

Good to hear @socks1107

Had friends round last night for a movie night and succumbed to a few handfuls of popcorn and a mini chocolate roll. But overall yesterday was a good day.

Hoping to get in a walk this evening with DH. Will have to bring the torches out. The scales hovered on 10st9 this morning for a brief second before settling on 10st10 so that's given me the push to keep on it this weekend
