Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

Following. Good luck everyone!

Fellsbells · 02/11/2025 07:23

Welcome new joiners 👋🏼

Aim for today is to eat the protein and veg at lunch, but avoid the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. Also on the cards is a 7km run and back to school prep.

Yesterday wasn’t ideal. There’s too much Halloween chocolate hanging around and a takeaway for dinner. However tracking it all is keeping it within a sort of limit. I haven’t totally fallen off the wagon.

CatPawprints · 02/11/2025 07:23

Please can I join. Last year I lost nearly 2 stone and felt fantastic. Since then I've gained nearly all of it back. I want to get it under control next year but might as well start now, right?

SW: 10st13

Trouble areas:
Evening glass of wine
Endless supply of sweets and snacks at work

Plan:
Try to stick to 2 meals a day instead of 3
Exercise 30 min each day
Up my steps during the day
Daily weigh in - I lose focus so quickly otherwise
Reporting in here

WhitegreeNcandle · 02/11/2025 07:30

Morning all.
Right, that's all the Halloween sweets and chocolate cleared out. Weighed in this morning at 11st 3lbs which is 2lbs more than I was expected. November aim is to lose 6lbs. Today's plan - 2 x 30 min dog walk. Watching a lot of kids rugby! food wise:
B- Scrambled eggs & mushrooms
L - Roast Beef with Roasties, kale, cabbage, brussels.

Have a good day all

olivietolivie · 02/11/2025 08:17

I’m in please!!

I have been losing weight well this year (nearly 4 stone since Christmas by August) but a combination of work stress and a relationship ending has caused me to put on EIGHT pounds since August.

really disappointed with myself.

I would like to lose those 8 pounds by Christmas but that means losing 1lb a week which I know is tough.

I need to get my portion sizes back under control and cut out the mindless snacks and glasses of wine / beer.

Marshmellowbunny · 02/11/2025 12:54

Thank you @biscuitcat and @GrannyTeapot

@GrannyTeapot have you NC or are you someone new? Either way, I love the name!

Lots of people setting goals for Christmas/January. Good luck!! I really wanted to achieve mine but I have totally gone off the rails 🙈 I know I said I was feeling good at the start of the month, but that's all come crashing down now and it's only the 2nd. Haha. I shouldn't laugh. I just feel as though my whole life is topsy turvy hah. I don't know how people go through stuff and come out of it looking all strong and stuff. I want to be strong haha. I always thought I was...but apparently not!

Anyway, back to weight. I weighed myself this morning and I'm apparently up 3lbs 🤣🙈 hoping it's just a blip but I have been just doing what I want the past few days...so that's my excuse.

Eurgh.

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend. Sorry for the ranty post! 🩷

LemonDrizzle23 · 02/11/2025 13:47

Loving the universal attempted swerving of the Halloween candy 😂 We only bought a small tub, so we gave all ours out thankfully.

Cooked a ratatouille this morning and it’s gaining flavour in the fridge. DS will be fed at a party this afternoon, so chicken and ratatouille for dinner for me and DH.

Have been on a walk this morning. Scale is slowly shifting downwards again, so I will try and keep up the exercising and extra veggies!

PersistentRain · 02/11/2025 13:53

So another 0.2kg down so I am exactly 1kg away from my next Happy Scale target. That tells me will take a month, hope not.
went to the gym even though I didn’t feel well and had to leave, at least I tried!

biscuitcat · 02/11/2025 14:19

Hahah the Halloween sweets are a nightmare aren’t they! I think we can hopefully bin the rest now without the kids noticing…

We’ve had an English breakfast this morning and koeksisters (like a doughnut, manna from heaven, an anti-diet food!) for my mum’s birthday so will have a very light dinner and hopefully come in more or less in my calories for the day.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 02/11/2025 14:29

@biscuitcat I lived in South Africa for years and looooove koeksisters! Especially dripping in syrup and so on. TBH South African food/snacks are probably my biggest impediment to weight loss - if I order some in I inhale them.

Halloween was a washout here - one of my DC had an infection and we spent a week in hospital, only just home. I bought a few packs of discounted Halloween sweets at the shops yesterday evening to cheer us all up. Very happy to be home. Supposed to be OMADing tomorrow but I may be easier on myself given the week I've had.

GrannyTeapot · 02/11/2025 14:53

Why do some Sundays feel like they are a week long?? Sunday afternoon time stretches. I’m in the middle of making a wool rug for the fireplace so have done some of that, will do some yoga in a while, but all I want to do is eat crumpets. 😂😂😂

biscuitcat · 02/11/2025 14:58

@TheWayTheLightFalls South African snacks are dangerous aren’t they. My family is from there, most still live there, so I’ve grown up with them despite always being in the UK myself. They were homemade too - I didn’t even bother limiting myself as they’re such a rare treat now! I can inhale biltong too, and droewors. That’s high protein at least, so basically a health food!

My downfall is the chips that stain your fingers for a week - NikNaks, or anything tomato sauce flavoured. I'll stop now!

magicmermaid · 02/11/2025 15:42

Happy Sunday All!
This time of year is so treacherous for weight loss, with Halloween treats and then Christmas just around the corner! I've got the 3pm munchies and trying to convince myself not to tuck in to the sweetie supply! Already been given a tub of quality street too!
Got a spearmint tea and had a banana....

No workout today as so exhausted.
Breakfast was cheesy pea Fritters with cherry toms
Lunch was leftover mushroom fajitas 👌🏻
I think dinner will be green Thai curry

Stay strong everyone!

Captainladder · 02/11/2025 16:28

Oooops. Fallen off the waggon quite spectacularly! I feel rubbish for it though so hopefully I can remember that sweets and wine make me feel rubbish!!!
I've decided to go all in for the next 7 weeks and have signed up to the fast 800 app (there is a free one week trial so I'll try that for a week and see). Tonight my DH is making homemade pizza as a final hurrah and he will semi join me on my diet as he also wants to lose a bit of weight. I'm going to have A mess about on the app and try and plan my weeks meals tonight.
good luck for November all!!!

Emmadaily · 02/11/2025 19:31

Thankyou for the new thread @TheRealHousewife
Ended October very well
Yesterday's weigh in at Slimming world I hit target I recieved my awards which was a certificate and a badge ☺.
Anyway I'm going try for a further 3 ànd half pounds off which Slimming world allows with Christmas not so far away .
So my 1st Christmas Dinner out with friends Monday the 1st of December I will enjoy a 2 course meal with no guilt .
Good luck to everyone for November xx

FridayNighFeeling · 02/11/2025 19:38

Hi all, had a fabulous weekend - if a stressful motorway journey and I think I ate roughly maintenance cals Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but of course sitting in the car and also eating out will probably be interesting on the scales tomorrow morning.

Just had a look back at October and I lost just over 5lbs, so I'm pleased with that. I don't think at more or less 20lbs down that I will get to 28 by Christmas to get my 2nd stone off, but I will be doing my best to keep going.

Thank you for the new thread @TheRealHousewife

Good luck to all and stop talking about SA snacks because it reminded me that I have a box of Ouma rusks to eat Wink

socks1107 · 02/11/2025 22:00

I found you! Checking in for month 11/12. Ready for the last 6lb to come off and this ten week plateau to break. Tightened macros and increased exercise and my average has slipped to its lowest. Not hopeful it is broken yet as I’ve seen drops before but I’m trying, Im a stone off a healthy BMI so got to keep going.

been to the gym today and well within calories

WhitegreeNcandle · 03/11/2025 06:52

Wow, there’s some good losses on here, well done all! Not too bad for me yesterday all though I did make myself 2 cheese muffins at 6pm. Very hungry with PMT but managed to avoid the late night snacking so not so bad.

Today:
B - peanut butter and banana on toast
L - bubble and squeak
T - mushroom soup

Hoping to fit in a strength workout but it’s the first day back at school for the kids so a lot of work to plough on with

Captainladder · 03/11/2025 07:35

Morning all! Checking in for November at exactly the weight I was 2 weeks ago- lost 2 kgs and gained it again through pretty hardcore snackage!! Have swung the other way and today is my first day of fast800 - there is a delicious looking omelette for lunch and a haloumi and Mediterranean veg thing for dinner. Last day of half term for us (well one dc back today the other off) and I've got loads of bits to do before school starts for me tomorrow, which should keep me busy!

Alwayslearning25 · 03/11/2025 07:44

Morning. I am on week 5 of couch to 5k and in November started using home workout app. Just did say 16 of lower body challenge. It works well doing this one daily as it varies the muscles it excersises to give others rest. Food wise I'm not overthinking yet, just trying to eat healthy, allthough had some lovely homemade cake yesterday.

CatPawprints · 03/11/2025 08:33

Morning all,

SW:10st13
CW: 10st11

Very tempted to start googling SA snacks because you lot are making them sound amazing

Trying to get my Monday head screwed on. Didn't manage exercise before work so I'm going to do 30 min on rowing machine straight after work and I'm banning myself from using the lifts. My office is on 3rd floor so lots of opportunities to use stairs will be good for me.

We're on homemade lamb kebab in pitas with salad tonight and I've brought fruit to snack on today. Although just seen there's an office bake off on today. I'm going to be surrounded by cake
