Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

@WearyAuldWumman Well done on attending Pilates 🧘‍♀️. I bet you felt great afterwards … all stretched out and more svelte 👍

I certain feel stretched out...As for the 'svelte'...Yes...I feel stretched out.

LegoTherapy · 29/12/2025 18:10

@biscuitcatits unlikely to be all fat you’ve gained. A little fat perhaps but mainly water and food weight. Plenty of water and things with fibre to get it moving through will soon shift it.

I’ve got round to making ds’s favourite broccoli and cheddar soup today and I’m just waiting for it to cool so we can eat it. He’s got baguette with his bit I’ve gone off that. I do have a batch of mashed potatoes cooking outside for fried potato butties though. I need the comfort food after a very stressful week. I’ll have one for supper while watching Death In Paradise. I’ve decided to see if I can watch it from the beginning. I remember it being new years ago but forgetting to watch so I never got into it. I enjoyed last nights episode so this is going to be my me time from now on. Fried potato butties are limited to until the mash runs out though. I imagine a regular habit might not be friendly for my weight.

We are going to a party on NYE hosted by our favourite band. I weigh around 5lbs less than last time we saw them and I feel more confident wearing a skirt to the event as a result. I don’t like new year but I couldn’t resist a party with our favourite guys. Going to be a very late one for Ds but worth it.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 29/12/2025 18:19

Actually managed OMAD, albeit a large meal. Done by 1.30 or so, then just black coffee etc.

I’ve started doing some light weightlifting (just at home with what we have) for some “prehabilitation”. I will need surgery come Jan for this bloody cancer so the more strength etc in advance the better. Weights in the kitchen, I just pick them up and do a minute of exercise whenever I pass / something is in the microwave.

FridayNighFeeling · 29/12/2025 20:08

I had about 3 000 Blush calories today - about 1000 over my maintenance, but I thought I'd track and shock myself into a bit of reality! Tomorrow definitely needs to be more controlled!

(((hugs))) @TheWayTheLightFalls

Fellsbells · 29/12/2025 22:05

Last four days calories each have been 500 over maintenance. Compared to previous years I’ve not eaten that much. Still managed to gain 3.5lbs.

Today has been good. 8km run and well under calories. I should be back to where I want soon.

B- yoghurt, flax, chia, granola, fruit
D- pesto pasta and salmon with green bean.
S- tortillas and salsa

2 days left of 2025.

TheRealHousewife · 30/12/2025 09:12

Good Morning Peeps

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m ready for some sunshine and I’m looking forward to the lighter mornings (8 weeks and counting down) It’s so grey and grungy 🌧️

Menu
Meal 1 - Home made quiche and salad.
Meal 2 - Cod, butter beans & leeks.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea (read it was good for inflammation) & water.

Only 2 days left of 2025 … how are you going to spend yours? I’m starting to take down Christmas decorations and have a thorough clean up. I still do house work but you can’t get stuck in when the decs & trees are up. I know it isn’t traditional but my new tradition is to pack away Christmas before midnight of the 31st as I don’t want to face all that in the New Year. I’m also having a fridge/larder clean up and setting the stage ready to prep healthy whole food meals.

New Years Day - Everything clean and tidy ready for a Fresh New Start to 2026🙂

Sounds like a good plan @TheRealHousewife.

2lbs off this morning so back to goal.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 30/12/2025 09:41

Hats off to everyone tracking their calories at the moment!

we have friends staying over new year, so a bit of housework is on the agenda today. Decorations don’t come down till after the new year here, but I will be ready for them to come down by the weekend!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 30/12/2025 13:16

We still have Orthodox Christmas to come, tomorrow through 7 (?) Jan. So tree is still up, more presents, large meal... yikes. Luckily I hate all the food so that's something Grin.

OMADing again here today, had a healthy ready meal and done. Will weigh in the morning. Bit surprised at my willpower but going with it.

FridayNighFeeling · 30/12/2025 14:01

Well I had a chance to jump on the scales and took it. 2kg/5lbs up from last WI pre Christmas, but some of that is my period, some of it the Dominos consumed last night. Today has definitely been more controlled.

I will see all of you awesome folk on the other side and on the new thread, thanks @TheRealHousewife for setting it up for us.

biscuitcat · 30/12/2025 17:57

@LegoTherapy - you’re quite right! Already about 500g down today from yesterday so hopefully I’ll be rid of the excess and more besides in the not too distant.

I had a very pasta heavy day today as friends cooked us pasta for lunch (Jamie’s sausage pasta, which has chickpeas in - very nice indeed!) and we had already planned carbonara for dinner so I didn’t have anything else in. But actually that, alongside a banana for breakfast, has me within calories with a bit spare for a piece of Christmas cake after the kids are in bed.

Hope everyone has a lovely new year tomorrow! Ours is very low key and I’m not totally convinced we’ll even see midnight!

Fellsbells · 30/12/2025 19:19

Well done everyone.

Average day for me. Just about in calories, but I have had chocolate today. My fuse is short this evening. No idea what WOW will look like, my weight fluctuates so much.

LemonDrizzle23 · 30/12/2025 21:02

I think the scales are going to be atrocious tomorrow (she says as she enjoys another piece of Christmas cake 😬). But it will be good to have an accurate marker going into the new year.

LemonDrizzle23 · 31/12/2025 08:14

Happy final WOW of 2025! Recording here for posterity and moving over to the January thread tomorrow.

Started 2025 at 14 st 13.
Finishing 2025 at 13 st 12.
(Put on an extra half stone back on late spring when mum died, so ended up having to lose some of the weight twice….)

Happy Scale is giving me angry red numbers as I’ve gained over Christmas 😂 but overall since I’ve started these threads I’m down 24lbs, so that’s a very positive change.

A further two stone off is the goal for 2026. That would take me very close to my goal weight and lighter than I’ve been in about 20 years.

Wishing every one the best for the end of the year. 2026 tomorrow!

biscuitcat · 31/12/2025 08:49

Good morning WOWers! Checking in here to see out 2025.

I’m 1lb up since Christmas Eve, so have dropped about 3.5lbs in 3 days - which definitely does show how salt and a few glasses of wine can impact weight! I think that’s probably the actual weight gain remaining, and I’d like to see it gone within a week.

Since joining you all in June, I’ve lost just over 18kg which feels mad - I’ve still got some way to go, but that’s definitely the most I’ve ever lost. Obviously the extra calories I have because of breastfeeding help, but I think my focus on reducing UPFs has made a massive difference - and having more than usual of them in the house over Christmas confirmed to me that curating my environment so I don’t really need to exercise too much willpower at home, as everything there is pretty good, is really helpful.

Beginning of June - 15st10.5
CW - 12st12.5

Hope everyone has a lovely new year!!

Fellsbells · 31/12/2025 10:43

Last WOW of the year and I forgot to weigh myself before I got dressed. I was at goal yesterday so we’ll go with that.

Positives from 2025, I’ve lost a stone. Maintained roughly around my goal for 3 months. Exercising more than ever in my life. Eating better than ever. IBS is very stable. Feel more energetic and less moody. My skin is probably the best it’s ever been. Feeling positive about maintaining in 2026.

Mostly, thank you to everyone on these lovely threads for supporting and sharing this year. I appreciate our non judgemental community where whatever works for you and however it’s going is encouraged.

You’ve have made excellent progress @biscuitcat, well done 👏👏👏. It’s definitely a long term way of eating rather than a ‘quick fix diet’.

NSV-I’ve just tried on my denim skirt for tonight and it’s now loose round the waist so I’m happy with that.

Congratulations to all the posters who have shown up, checked in, kept going, come back after a break, lost weight, gained a bit and lost it again and made healthier changes in 2025. I hope 2026 sees you continue and become healthier as the year progresses. Thank you to you all for your support.

TheRealHousewife · 31/12/2025 22:02

Hello Everyone

Heres hoping you’re all having a peaceful and reflective New Years Eve!

I did it! My trimmings are down and our home is spic & span ready for the New Year 2026 🎇 Even my other half said he’s glad all the trimmings are away and going forward it will be our new tradition.

In other news I’ve Joined Zoe for one year. Several years ago I went on the wait list for the Study but was refused at the gate due to being Celiac. Now it’s been restructured it doesn’t matter if your celiac or not. It tracks your logged foods and awards a health score between 0-100. You can also photo a food and it calculates its macros (I added weights/amounts to make it fully accurate) It steers you away from UPFs although I don’t have many of those. You can scan stuff when shopping and it’ll give you a score to help you choose the healthier options. I’ve also ordered the Gut Micro Biome test to see where I’m at gut bug wise.

WOW - 9st 1lb (1lb loss) My aim for this year is to return to the 8’s and stay there 🤞

Menu
Meal 1 - 2 Boiled Eggs & 3 Brazil Nuts. ZS 84
Meal 2 - Spicy roast veg, sweetcorn & coconut milk soup. ZS 77
Drinks - Tea ZS83, black coffee ZS100, hibiscus tea ZS100 & water.
