Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

Happy Monday everyone.

Didn't have the best weekend, had a takeaway on Saturday night and just lots of snacking so going to try cut the snacks today.

Went to the gym this morning before work too and hopefully get out for a walk at lunch if it would ever stop raining.

Fellsbells · 03/11/2025 08:51

Love reading everyone’s updates. Well done whatever is happening with your scales.

Yesterday was a good day. I came in well under calories because of a 7km run. Showing the restraint of monk I didn’t have a McDonald’s with the DC or curry leftovers with DH. I was rewarded this morning by the scales going up! However it’s probably hormones and will shift in a week.

Plan for today is a 5km dog walk. Sensible eating, keep busy so I don’t snack.

readyforsunshine · 03/11/2025 08:54

Good morning! Well done on some great losses & to those sticking at it when going through tough times. Happy Scale user here too PersistentRain & not surprising showed a slight raise this morning following a pub roast & 2 glasses of wine yesterday. Still hoping to be 1lb down from last week by weds weigh in. Have a good week all!

magicmermaid · 03/11/2025 09:29

Morning All
Plan for today:
20 min madfit workout
B: Fritters
L: mushroom fajitas
D: carbonara

Last day of half term for us and hopefully going to see some fireworks tonight 🎆

biscuitcat · 03/11/2025 10:06

@CatPawprints SA snacks are lethal, don’t do it 😂

Back to school for my eldest today as well which means the house is marginally less chaotic.

The menu is:

B - Greek yoghurt with plums
L - carrot soup
D - baked potato with crème fraiche chicken

Not one for the Marmite haters, but my current favourite thing is a swirl of marmite on top of soup like you might do a swirl of cream - I can eat the stuff off a spoon though, so any excuse for more marmite is fine by me!

LemonDrizzle23 · 03/11/2025 10:20

Loving the sound of all the South African snacks!

Half term is officially over here, so we’re back to some semblance of a routine! Have continued to enjoy my Body Project workouts, so have started the week with a hour of those.

Movement downwards on the scale and I have now seen 13.12, so slowly heading the right way again.

LemonDrizzle23 · 03/11/2025 11:18

Have just agreed a family holiday in southern Europe next June, so that will officially begin our summer I guess!

8 months to make sure I’m feeling fabulous by the time I go, instead of a bit “meh” like I did this summer.

FridayNighFeeling · 03/11/2025 11:33

Bit of an ac acquired taste @CatPawprints Wink

Well bit of a surprise this morning - rather than bouncing up from eating out etc I was 0.1kg down from the last recorded WI on the 28th. So will be interesting to see what happens by Wednesday.

Good luck all.

Nichebitch · 03/11/2025 12:26

I had a good start, having peppers omelette instead of my usual biscuits for breakfast and doing strength training.
I haven’t weighed myself in ages so a bit apprehensive for Wednesday.
menu today: chicken and salad for lunch, sea bass and veg for dinner. I’m so hungry already though 😖

CinnamonSweet73 · 03/11/2025 12:31

Signing on for November after a very poor effort in October! I have bought some clothes for Christmas that fit but would look better with a couple of kgs off, so here goes!
I'm 80.6kg this morning, would like to be 75, but get back into the 70s first.
Had my overnight oats and a tuna and chickpea salad prepped last night, and salmon ready for dinner tonight.
Best of luck everyone, you're all inspiring me ❤️

I’m so rubbish at keeping up with the threads. I’m struggling with most aspects of life at the moment and still off sick after going into autistic shutdown. Still trying to hold my ND kids and my physically disabled mum together as well as myself so my weight is the least of my worries but I’m here and thankful for the new thread. Starting November with a weight of 8st 8lb or 54.5kg. Hope everyone has a great month and is doing ok.

Hi, hugs from me. My dd had a huge meltdown today because it’s first day of term and she couldn’t cope. Subsequently I had one myself, and I ended up having some chocolate. It’s very difficult to put your long term goals first in a ND family, I feel you x

I have been dieting for most of the year and .now at the top end of the healthy weight but I want gomlose.amother half a stone before Xmas to give myself a bit of leeway and that last half a stone is so hard to lose?
I was averaging a pound a week but now it's much less and I'm finding it hard to keep up my motivation so this thread will.be very useful!

Also after not having chocolate for ages I ate a mini mars bar yesterday and it has given me the taste for chocolate again which is hard.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 03/11/2025 17:12

Checking in! I had my birthday celebrations over the last couple of weeks (it was the big 40 hence why there were multiple celebrations 😂) which resulted in several nights out and obviously cake so I’ve been off the wagon a bit - but happy that I’ve stuck with calorie counting for the most part and not gone too off the rails! I’m staying away from the scales until I’ve had a couple of solid ‘good’ eating weeks though!

mumofoneAloneandwell · 03/11/2025 17:13

Hi everyone

Joining - got loads to lose but want to make a start 😪 xx

Ionacat · 03/11/2025 17:27

Can I join you? I’ve been reading but now plucked up the courage to post. I’ve been looking after myself as I call it since the beginning of August now. I’m not weighing myself but keeping track with clothes instead.

I’m not calorie counting, but I’ve cut out most sweet stuff (except fruit/yogurt and odd full sugar coke if I’m out) and I’m not snacking - just three meals a day. I’ve also kicked my Pepsi Max habit as the aspartame was causing migraines. Plus running at least twice a week plus tap and other dance. It seems to be working far.

Aiming for my size 12 jeans to do up without quite as much of a mushroom top! The too tight skirt now fits so next step - jeans!

Fellsbells · 03/11/2025 18:32

Solidarity with the parents of ND kids who are struggling. Back to school meltdowns are the worst.

Closing the kitchen a couple of hundred calories over, but by the time my evening steps and exercise have been counted it should be fine. Dinner included a large
portion of cabbage which has really filled me up.

B- probiotic shot
L- curry and rice
D- pork and cabbage
S- biscuits

TheWayTheLightFalls · 03/11/2025 18:33

Welcome @Ionacat !

OMAD done here - omelette, mushrooms, beans and toast around 10am, then just a good quantity of coffee, herbal tea and a Diet Coke. I’m on my period so I don’t expect miracles on the scales come Wednesday but happy to have powered through. Miserable weather today, it rained every time I stuck my toe out!

Gingercar · 03/11/2025 19:35

Hello! Could I join your group? I’ve been doing WLI for five months and have done well by cutting out all refined sugars and processed foods. But it doesn’t make me feel full like it does most people, so not as easy as it is for lots of people, and the losses have slowed a lot. I’d love to lose 10-12lbs by Xmas, but think I’ll be lucky. I need to bump up the exercise, I think.

PersistentRain · 03/11/2025 19:57

Lost weight yesterday, so it was right up today. I was unwell yesterday so I ate!
back to the gym tomorrow. Seeing as I missed yesterday I am hoping for a good session.

Captainladder · 03/11/2025 20:39

My first day on the fast800 has been done and the kitchen is now closed.
things I liked about today - having set guidelines about what to eat (I'm using the app so it gives you quantities and calories all worked out and takes the maths out of it!)
not feeling icky from eating all the snacks
Things I found hard today - not eating all the time!!!
luckily I was quite busy so it wasn't awful, and tomorrow I am back at work and out the house.
I won't lie. I am hungry. And totally trying not to fall at the mere thought of how I will cope at Christmas because I don't want to put in all this effort and then it all go to waste (my waist!!!!).
one day at a time.....

Welcome ginger! You need to find what works for you as it’s so personal - but for many people weight loss is achieved in the kitchen, not the gym (whatever the other benefits of exercise).

Thank you. Yea I hear that. It’s been going ok so far, I’m 44lbs down. But it’s slowed down a bit lately. I guess upping the exercise is also to do with improving all my habits for the other end. Which is a long way off!

GrannyTeapot · 04/11/2025 01:56

Lovely couple of hours of yoga Monday, didn’t eat much as I wasn’t hungry …will try and do better.
