Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

I've just downloaded the Royal Canadian Air Force exercise plan for women. I remember reading it ages ago when Helen Mirren mentioned it in an interview and an article about Prince William of all people reminded me of it. 12 minutes, no equipment, stretching with some strength/cardio exercises. Going to give it a go!

Today:
-2x boiled eggs with 1x rye toast butter, coffee with milk x2 (have been so hungry this week, thought I'd pre-empt hunger with an egg-stra egg)
-fruit, bit of cake
-mushroom soup with bread/spread (leftovers from yesterday)
-greek yoghurt
-Hairy Dieter's chicken and chorizo bake (with potatoes, onions, tomatoes, garlic, peppers).
-Friday night 0% alcohol beer (x1!)

Planning on getting outside in the fresh air this weekend. Watching DC sport, trip to the woods and clear the garden.

TC2023 · 07/11/2025 09:29

Happy Friday all 😄

Some great losses this week, well done. I think the Christmas season looming is a bit of motivation for us all.

Got my gym session in this morning and will hopefully go for a walk on my lunch break.

Meal plan for today:

B: smoothie
L: soup & toastie
D: omlette

And hopefully no snacks, the snaking is my downfall.

PersistentRain · 07/11/2025 14:07

my weight always shoots up when I lose weight and then creeps back down again. I’m nearly down to the lowest weight again.
been to a class this morning and I am shattered and starving!

LemonDrizzle23 · 07/11/2025 15:23

Sounds like everyone is doing well. The Christmas motivation is strong!

My dad brought me a giant toblerone back from the airport, which is lovely, but one triangle is nearly 200cal! Having to exercise some restraint with that in the cupboard 😂

Bought some new clothes in a size 18 today. Admittedly the jeans are a bit tight at the waist. But very nearly there. Also ordered myself a sparkly Christmas top and the 18 was right, the 20 was baggy. If I can start 2026 as a comfortable 18, down from a tight 22, I will consider that a good start to the new year.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 07/11/2025 17:15

Happy Friday everyone! I’m on another night out tomorrow but feeling happy about having a few drinks safe in the knowledge I’ve banked calories for it 👌👌 had a really nice day today in general and so happy that the jeans I’m wearing today that we’re feeling a bit tight a couple of months ago are now back to fitting really well again 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻😊😊😊

L: Chicken, lentil and butternut soup
D: Cod and chorizo fishcake, potato wedges (small portion) and broccoli
Snacks: Coffee and tea with oat milk, cherry tomatoes, going to have a couple of G&T cans tonight as well!

LegoTherapy · 07/11/2025 17:31

I’m being a good girl and having a salad tonight. Baby leaves, red pepper, pomegranate, olives, beetroot, feta, cucumber and tiny star shaped pasta with a small portion of baguette on the side because I’m not a tiny sparrow and need carbs of more than the equivalent to 3 penne tubes.

Marshmellowbunny · 08/11/2025 07:20

Well done @LegoTherapy
I have the things for a salad in the fridge. I think I'll make one today. I didn't do so well yesterday. Ended up getting a chippy tea. I didn't finish it, but still. Lots of carbs. And just high high high calories. And I had a non alcoholic beer 😢

Oh well, positives eh? I didn't drink all of the alcoholic beers and I didn't finish all of the unhealthy food. I really don't think I'll make goal weight at this rate. Annoying because I've been thinking about it, and if I can get to 9.5, I think I'll make that my maintenance. Hmmm.

Need to try harder.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 08/11/2025 07:40

@Marshmellowbunny you can also get to maintenance and see how it feels / reassess. My initial goal was 75kg. When I got there I realised that it didn't feel quite right (mostly because it left me awkwardly between clothes sizes) so I've carried on, but much more slowly.

I have a "I'm craving something but I don't know what" problem the past few days. Sigh.

socks1107 · 08/11/2025 07:48

I enjoyed my refeed day yesterday, I didn’t go over maintenance but I did have a doughnut which was delicious!
back to it today with a work out planned

Marshmellowbunny · 08/11/2025 08:41

Thank you @TheWayTheLightFalls yeah, I need to be not so fixed in my goals. I tend to hyperfocus on things and not in a good way! I've been restricting from June and it's just depressing now. I really want to make 9.5. I think I just need to recommit. But it's such a hard time of year with Xmas and stuff.

I had the similar craving and thought a chippy would solve it, but it hasn't! 🙈🤣 I also ate some of the Thornton's caramel brownies thinking I needed chocolate. But that wasn't it either! 🤣🙈 At least we're in this together I suppose!

LemonDrizzle23 · 08/11/2025 08:52

Woke up to another low weight this morning, which is making me happy. More clothes arrived late yesterday - most of which I will have to send back as too big! Haven’t quite nailed down my current size. They are “party season” clothes, which I don’t think I’ve bothered to buy any of in years. Have just worn a stretchy black dress where necessary for literally years.
Good times!

LegoTherapy · 08/11/2025 11:01

@MarshmellowbunnyI have a chip barm lunch about once a month or so. It’s ok to have things that aren’t very healthy occasionally. It’s all about balance. I was craving noodles from the Chinese on Thursday . Just noodles. I thoroughly enjoyed them along with some veggie spring rolls. Dd loves the spring rolls so I couldn’t not get them. Then I balanced it with salad yesterday.

biscuitcat · 08/11/2025 12:41

Echoing what others have said, the odd chippy tea will absolutely not undo months of hard work @Marshmellowbunny! Enjoy it and feel no guilt.

I’ve been having a brunch of eggs and bacon with a piece of sourdough toast recently instead of breakfast and lunch and it’s delicious - feels like such a treat, actually fairly low calorie, and filling enough to keep me going until dinner.

I’d like to drop another half stone before Christmas which will have me into the 12s and is a weight where actually I look pretty good - definitely still as though I could still lose a few pounds (and I’d actually like to end up in the 10s), but not very definitely overweight which I was before.

Today’s menu:

B - banana
L - eggs and bacon
D - lentil curry (with the remaining homemade tiramisu for dessert!)

Emmadaily · 08/11/2025 13:02

Hi everyone I'm not long back from my weigh in at Slimming world.
Really enjoyed tue meeting and with good ideas for the oncoming festivities.
I have lost half a pound which I was quite pleased about as I am aiming to drop another 3 pounds for Christmas so can enjoy the extra eating over Christmas and New year .
When go back after the festivities if put on over my target I will know exactly what to do and not be stressed about it.
I enjoy reading everyone's posts on here and think it is great for tips and encouragement
Have a fab week everyone xx😊

CatPawprints · 08/11/2025 13:20

I need to stir myself and go do the big food shop but I'm putting it off by updating on here.

I was surrounded by food yesterday and had more treats than I intended on having. DM brought round an almond blondie from my favourite bakery. But I did a walk in the evening and another walk first thing this morning to balance it out.

My feet are done in now. Got soaked in the rain and had to have a shower first thing when we got back. All i want to do now is lie about and read my book.

But any minute now I'm going to get up. Do food shop and maybe plant some bulbs in the garden. Then I'm giving myself license to veg out all afternoon

Ionacat · 08/11/2025 13:20

I had pizza last night as I figure odd thing like that won’t make a difference. I took 4 x 8 year olds to do an escape room and then for pizza. (It is the youngest’s birthday next week.) I definitely earnt it as they were very excited and loud! I’d been pretty good the rest of the week - so I think it balances out. However I do need to make her birthday cake and hoping that will not be my downfall! Loving hearing the stories about clothes being too big - that’s my motivation!

Just finished a 7.5k run. Aiming to finally do 10 at some point - I keep getting to 8.5/9k and then giving up, but I think I just need to be more patient. The weather is finally sunny which helped no end. And I then have stupidly volunteered to take the youngest swimming. My treat then will be a bath and book.

Hope the sun is now shining for everyone else!

Fellsbells · 08/11/2025 18:23

5km run this morning- good
curry and magnum icecream- not ideal

LemonDrizzle23 · 08/11/2025 19:10

13,000 steps today, but everywhere I went, I could smell people grilling meat. So planned dinner went out the window and we got a burger! Very satisfying it was too. Back on it tomorrow….

FridayNighFeeling · 08/11/2025 20:32

All about balance ladies! I had a very rare day where DH and I could go to brunch and I've been for a hair cut...

Alwayslearning25 · 08/11/2025 20:55

@Ionacat I have my DS birthday, (3 years) with birthday cake. I am not doing very well with my diet, but I am focusing on excersice. I am signing up to a weekly dance class I did a trial of and am doing the c25k. However, I'm on my period and not sleeping well. I've ordered some 2nd hand rainbow and sprinkles leggings.

Vapeaddict · 08/11/2025 21:25

So many of you are so good with exercise! It's the first thing to go out of the window for me as soon as there's a slight change in routine- I must get back into the swing of it.

Absolutely off the rails this week, so far off the rails I can't even see them any more 🙈 pizza, fish & chips and a burger all within the last few days. I'm also dreadfully dehydrated. Everything just kept going wrong this week and I took the easy way out. Very cliche but, proper fresh start on Monday when (hopefully) everything is back to normal!

CatPawprints · 09/11/2025 07:37

SW: 10st13
CW: 10st10

Morning all! Sunday is officially my day of rest so trying to gracious with myself today. Remembrance service at church, then lunch out with the family. I didn't get round to planting bulbs yesterday so will do that this afternoon whilst listening to my audiobook.

I'd really like to lose 2lbs this coming week as 10st9 is where I gave up last time I was trying to lose weight. Want to get past that and will hopefully feel like I am getting somewhere.

LegoTherapy · 09/11/2025 09:13

Humph. 1lb up today. That might be the onion ring crisps, Starbucks and bubble tea I had yesterday 😩 we went to the big, dirty city and ds wanted the bubble tea and the onion ring crisps. They are my new favourite crisp but I can still taste them this morning so good job I’m single!
Best news is that I’ve been taking cosmocol for chronic constipation and I think I might be back to regular! I’ve been in such discomfort and had a UTI too.
No idea on diet today but we are heading back to the big, dirty city on a Lego mission so another caramel latte is on the cards. No doughnuts or onion ring crisps though. Or bubble tea.
This afternoon will be a Lego and film afternoon and figuring out dinner.

socks1107 · 09/11/2025 09:19

I went over again yesterday. I was starving and we had work men in all day and then a takeaway. Scared to get on the scales

Marshmellowbunny · 09/11/2025 09:43

Morning all,
Thank you for all of the messages. I read them but then had to focus on not feeling guilty and giving up. I gave up a little and had cheese, ham and bread yesterday!
And I'm now 4lbs above my lowest 🙈

I've got myself into a panic about 'where will this end' I've done it as a lifestyle change, rather than a diet so I need to change how I view things and not feel guilty for having a good weekend/day. I really wanted to be 9.5 when I go away on the 19th of December but 🤷🏻‍♀️

I need to realise that I still have quite a while and it's fine and like @biscuitcat said...it's not going to undo all the months of hard work. I just need to not throw in the towel.

@legotherapyyou are totally right. Just need balance!

Just wanted to say well done @LemonDrizzle23 and yay for buying party clothes! I bought one glittery skirt last year! 😂🙈 But maybe I'll follow your lead and actually be fancy sparkly party this year.

Hope you're all having a good weekend 🥰
