Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

Morning all. Good day yesterday, stuck to my plan. Today is
B overnight oats
L either steak or beef stir fry
T - soup and half a sandwich.

It’s DH’s birthday so there will be homemade cake at some point too. Will go for a run today.

readyforsunshine · 04/11/2025 07:49

Morning all, Sunday excess gone after a good day yesterday.
b - tomato, bean & mushroom & egg
l - tuna salad
d - chicken curry w cucumber yoghurt & a chapati.
Restarted my daily yoga after a while off with a sore shoulder & followed up with 10 mins arm weights.

out for book club tonight so hoping it’s not pasta on the menu!

Fellsbells · 04/11/2025 09:23

Really frustrating weigh in this morning, highest it’s been for ages despite me thinking yesterday was a good day! Hopefully it’s water weight.
I’m going to make some soup for lunch and going on a very reluctant run.

PatienceOfEngels · 04/11/2025 09:33

Morning all!

@LegoTherapy sorry to hear you're having a hard time. ND household here too and sometimes everything just gets too overwhelming for all of us (and I'm the one trying to manage everyone).

@LemonDrizzle23 lovely to have something to look forward to.

Main meals and planned snacks good yesterday:

-boiled egg, 1 x rye toast with butter, 2 x coffee with milk
-small fruit/veg plate
-small jacket potato with light creme fraiche.
-greek yoghurt with dribble of coffee syrup
-spaghetti bolognese, cheese

Unplanned snacks - homemade cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting x2 (1 in morning at school - made for my students - and 1 after dinner). A very big oops!

Drank herbal tea and water.

Only a short walk outside to hobby and back as working all day. Almost 10K steps.

For today,

-DH had the last egg 😪 so only 1x rye toast with butter, coffee w milk
-apple with slice of cheese
-red pepper omelette
-banana and strawberry smoothie
-chicken bhuna with rice and broccoli

30 minute walk and a 5 minute meditation.

Weighed in at 74.4kg (0.1kg down from Wow so fx I can hold onto this for tomorrow and the next week).

biscuitcat · 04/11/2025 11:16

Welcome @Gingercar, @Ionacat and @mumofoneAloneandwell!

I’ve been snacking too much the past few days, youngest DS not sleeping well and the turn in the weather are making me want to cosy up and hibernate! But I’ve had multiple people recently notice I’ve lost weight which is really lovely - I’m back to work after maternity leave in March and I want there to be a real ‘wow’ difference by then for colleagues who I haven’t seen. We’ve also got a wedding at a fancy venue in March and I want to feel amazing in whatever I wear - so that’s my motivation for the next few months!

Today‘s menu:

B - Greek yoghurt with plums and nectarines
L - tbc, but aiming for a higher protein choice
D - Mexican rice

SW:10st13
CW: 10st11

Miserable day here and my body is aching from last night's work out, but I'll take that as a positive sign that I was working hard.

I'll probably miss exercise tonight to give muscles a rest. Plus I'm taking injured cat to the vet - she's come off worst in a fight, poor thing. Think she may need stitches.

Will try and have smaller portion for tea and try to squeeze in a walk to get steps up to 10,000. Although that is trickier with darker evenings

Fellsbells · 04/11/2025 18:29

Closing the kitchen significantly under calories so I’ll probably weigh even more tomorrow! I’m 90% sure this is all hormonal bloat. I’ve had to move up two holes on my belt because my middle is so puffy and my boobs are huge!

fingers crossed for WOW in the morning.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 05/11/2025 06:11

Morning! WoW is 72.7kg here - staying the same. Have a good day everyone Brew

Fellsbells · 05/11/2025 07:03

Happy Wow.
1lb down, still 4 up from early October though.

good luck fellow wowers.

readyforsunshine · 05/11/2025 07:07

Managed my 1lb loss this week so a total of 5lbs since I started the week before.

biscuitcat · 05/11/2025 07:11

Good morning WoW-ers!

My weight this week is technically down 3.5lbs! But last week’s WOW was artificially high and I’d dropped 2.5lbs the next day, so 1lb down is more accurate - and that has me at my October goal 5 days late.

SW - 15st10.5
CW - 13st6.5

Sadly there’s not a nice round number goal for November as I think getting into the 12s this month is unrealistic, but low 13s would be lovely.

DH’s birthday today (this time of year is a nightmare, in 3 months we have 5 family birthdays plus Christmas), so out for brunch then probably steak for dinner.

LemonDrizzle23 · 05/11/2025 07:12

@CatPawprints your poor cat - hope it wasn’t anything too serious in the end.

Morning WOWers! A good week for me - stuck pretty religiously to my calories and added in a couple of extra workouts and have had a bit of a whoosh of 2lbs off! Good change after a stuck October.

SW: 15 st 8
CW: 13 st 11.8
15% lost: 13 st 4

13 st 8 will see me reach a two stone loss and I think a BMI of 31, down from 36. So that’s my next mini goal.

Good luck to everyone WOWing.

Marshmellowbunny · 05/11/2025 07:18

Morning all,
And hello to all the new joiners 👋🏻
I hope that today goes okay for you! But remember, it's just a number, one that ever changes because of random stuff! So try not to fret about it too much.

I am down again! I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. Although yesterday I did have a bacon butty and half a box of Swiss chocolates, and I refuse to feel bad about it! Life is way too short so 🤷🏻‍♀️

CW: 9, 8.4
SW: 10, 6.8
GW: 9, 5.

Maybe I will actually make goal by Christmas. We will see! I do have a city break before then and I don't want to have to restrict when I'm there, so we will see! I think the not drinking is definitely making a difference. Even though at first I thought it wasn't 🤭

Good luck everyone 🥰

socks1107 · 05/11/2025 07:57

Morning everyone!

so I am a 1lb down today (2lb on recorded weight) that’s the lowest I’ve been yet and maybe I’ve broken the plateau? I won’t believe it until next week.

anyway
SW 13.14
CW 11.5.4
GW (2nd) 11

hoping for 11 at Xmas

Vapeaddict · 05/11/2025 08:14

Morning everyone, I fell off at the end of Oct thread and only just picking up Nov! It's been a busy time at home and work with illness, deadlines and half term but I'm back.

I can't remember what my last WOW was but I know I started October at 10.7.

SW: 10st7lbs
CW: 10st4.75lbs

I think that's a gain- I remember seeing a 3 at some point in October!- but I'm pleased not to be back to square one. My digestion and hormones are absolutely all over the place as well.

We go away early Dec so my ideal would be to hit 10st before then but it'll take a lot of consistency and willpower that I'm not sure I have in me 😆 there's a night out and two family birthdays to fit in there too but I'll try! Lovely having you all to do this with- weight loss threads usually just grind to a halt so I love that this one keeps momentum! Off to catch up on everyone's news..

CinnamonSweet73 · 05/11/2025 08:17

Morning all, seems to be good news all round so well done everyone!

I'm exactly 80kg this morning, from about 80.5 last week. Hoping to be back in the 70s by next week! Goal is 75kg.

Have a great day everyone!

TC2023 · 05/11/2025 08:27

Morning everyone.

I am down to 71.6kg today, which is 0.9kg this week! Can't believe it. I think that's nearly 2 pounds so I am very happy today.

Aim to do the same this week now as last week and hope for better losses in November!

CW: 71.6kg
SW: 74kg
GL: 65kg

Well done everyone 💪

CatPawprints · 05/11/2025 08:35

SW: 10st13
CW:10st10
GW: 9st

Congrats on the losses everyone.

3lbs down this week for me but I'm in week one of this new effort and I find I always lose the first few quickly and then struggle so I'm not feeling smug yet.

I am proud of myself for wining a staring contest with a bottle of wine last night. There is just enough left in it for a large glass and was very tempted to have it to wind down the evening, but I left it on the counter and grabbed a glass of water instead 😇

@LemonDrizzle23 thank you, happy to report the cat is OK. Wound hasn't reached muscle so we just have to keep it clean and she has some anti inflammatory medicine to take. Very relieved that she is OK.

FridayNighFeeling · 05/11/2025 08:42

Morning WOWers - some great posts. I'm joining in to say 0.3kg/ 0,5lb ish lost this week so 20lbs down in 21 weeks with you all. Depressingly, this puts me where I was in 2019 before I lost weight Hmm but I will take it!

Gingercar · 05/11/2025 09:07

-1lb for me this week, taking me to 3stones 3lbs loss since the end of May. Started off quite quickly but now seems to be a steady lb a week. Still loads to go.

PatienceOfEngels · 05/11/2025 10:20

Morning all.

-0.4kg to 74.1kg. A big drop after 2-3 months of not much change.

Making Jamie's veggie casserole today with butternut squash and chickpeas.

chalkyc2 · 05/11/2025 10:31

Joining you a little bit late!

introducing myself as yoyo dieter of the year.

I won’t elaborate but I have some work to do before a feb half term ski trip. If I want to fit into my ski clothes that is! Christmas goal is to be under 80kg. This morning weighed in at 86.7kg.

The food noise is unreal and is consuming me (well errr I wish it was literally…!!) so trying to stay really focussed on the prize..

Goid luck everyone and thanks for having me!

PersistentRain · 05/11/2025 10:54

SW: 89kg
CW: 82.4kg
GW: around 70kg

Im actually 82.8kg but I’m taking my lowest weight!

Captainladder · 05/11/2025 12:23

hello lovelies!
sw 100.45
cw 98
gw 65
(kgs!)
back on track.Keeping on with the fast800, loving the initial weightloss - it's very motivating!
planning is taking a lot of the stress of dinner time away - no more standing in front of the fridge wondering what the best thing to make would be.... highly recommend (though hate planning. Am using the app to make it easier. It's worth the subscription fee!!)
have a great day all.

Cheesewhatcheese · 05/11/2025 12:47

My first weigh-in! So this is me being accountable 😊

SW: 71.5 (though I weighed on Monday and was 73.5..??)
CW: 71.5
GW: 67

First fasting day yesterday - baked salmon and an amazing ratatouille (BBC Good Food 'Next level Ratatouille') - very tasty, put the rest in the freezer for my next fast days. Just had some lovely smoked mackerel and avocado salad for my lunch 😋Think I'm maybe appreciating my food more now that I'm restricting it??
