We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

I’m out tonight on a work event. I’ve counted for three small wines and no pudding. It won’t happen but I can try 😂

Determinedloser · 09/09/2025 22:13

@biscuitcat did you do your C25K? If it helps with motivation any, my next run will be my last run of the programme and I am just in awe of how I have progressed in these 9 weeks. I keep saying to my running buddy ‘we couldn’t even run for a minute 9 weeks ago and look at us now’ pretty easily doing 30 minutes barely even checking how long is left anymore. Tonight nearly killed me though as we chose a hillier route than usual! I started to try and help my mood as suffer from terrible mood swings but have fallen in love with running.

@TealSloth hope things get easier for you very soon.

@LemonDrizzle23 the weighing food is just tedious isn’t it? I really do believe it has to be done though as like you experienced - what we think just a small portion ends up being way more than we think. I have so many photos in my phone of food on the scales so that I can then input it into my calorie counting app later on.

Looking forward to WOW in the morning. I’m not expecting a huge loss as my deficit is only geared to half a pound per week but am always secretly hoping for a bit more!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 10/09/2025 06:35

Morning! WoW is 74.2kg - up a bit, likely as my period is due, but fine. This is, lord willing, the last week of back-to-school disruption, so I’m hoping that will help a little bit too. It’s been two weeks since I was last at my initial goal of 75kg, so I think/hope that I will soon have 74kg as a new ceiling.

Off to work now, on coffee, first meal will be at 1pm or so.

Good luck Wowers!

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 10/09/2025 06:57

@Marshmellowbunnya bedtime hot chocolate is a good idea instead of grabbing three Hobnobs for sure 😊👍🏻👍🏻 I’ll have to try it!

I weighed myself this morning and am coming in at 10 st 3lb which is really upsetting - heaviest I have been in the last two years and completely undone all my good work from this Jan - May, I’m just so flabbergasted that I’ve put that much back on though when I really don’t feel that my eating habits were that bad from May to now but I suppose it just shows how easy it is to slip back into bad habits, extra glasses of wine, a little chocolate most nights and bigger portions in general, also I know we were eating out more and having more takeaways - argh so annoyed though! Feel like I will just have to calorie count for the rest of my life to stay at my GW if I ever get there 🙈🙈🙈 just finding it a bit crazy because I really don’t snack tons or eat like that unhealthily in general and I don’t drink loads of alcohol yet still to have such a weight increase in like four months? It seems mad to me, I’m not an inactive person either I walk everywhere and I do regular yoga.

Anyway, it’s happened so I have to get a grip and deal with it!

Today’s plan -

B - Coffee and oat milk
L - Soup (Noodle Laksa)
D - Chilli with a small portion of roast baby potatoes and guacamole

PatienceOfEngels · 10/09/2025 07:12

Weigh-in at 75.2kg. -0.1kg from last Wednesday (+0.1kg from yesterday!) but since I started my cycle yesterday I'm taking that as a half kilo loss 😂

Looking at my weekly averages over the last month I can really see the change.
7-13 August 77.1kg
14-20 August 76.3kg -0.8kg
21-27 August 75.5kg -0.8kg
28 Aug- 3 Sept 75.5kg -
4-10 Sept 75.2kg -0.3kg

Slow and steady!

September goal to get under 75kg seems manageable, though heading away for work at the end of the month so may have some work to do in October when I get back.

2kg down, 7kg to go to a healthy BMI.

Day off but lots of errands to do in and out of the house.

B-boiled egg and rye toast w butter, coffee with milk
L - spicy pumpkin soup
D - quiche Lorraine, hash browns and spicy pumpkin soup

Didn't manage to get my yoga in yesterday so will try again today.

biscuitcat · 10/09/2025 07:16

Good morning WoW-ers! I’ve stayed the same this week which was not unexpected - I’d love to blame faulty scales but it’s actually biscuits which are the cause… I find being tired makes an enormous difference to how well I eat, as I really noticed a couple of good sleeps resulted in much better eating without very much effort.

@Determinedloser I did! And actually enjoyed it which was nice. Well done for finishing the programme, that’s amazing! I’m hoping I can say the same in a couple of months.

Plan for today:

B - Greek yoghurt with fruit and honey
L - leftover carrot soup with bread
D - Mexican rice with avocado, salsa and some tortilla chips

Fellsbells · 10/09/2025 07:31

Good luck Wowers.

I’d down again, past my goal weight and ideally need to maintain now.

socks1107 · 10/09/2025 07:43

I wont be down!
I ate my meal, pudding, five glasses of wine, a whole tray of petit fours, then a McDonald’s hamburger and milkshake!

I never go over calories so its ok but my tummy was so uncomfortable last night with it all I’ll avoid it in the future

Determinedloser · 10/09/2025 07:46

You can do this. Just keep consistent and you’ll get there.

Well done everyone who has weighed so far!

WOW for me is 1.2lbs down since last WOW. 0.2lbs to go till half a stone!

Marshmellowbunny · 10/09/2025 08:19

Morning All,
Idk what's going on really. I feel so down about everything hah. What a waste of living.

I'm currently reading Confessions of a 40-Something Fuck Up. Has anybody read it? I'm really enjoying it. It's making me feel a bit better.

Anyway WOW.
I'm not longer on my TOM and my partner is away so it's been a bit easier not to eat everything. I wanted to go out for a run this morning but then the binmen arrived and there was chaos and I feel all flustered. I might go out later but it's probably too hot to run...so idk.

Anyway WOW:

SW: 67.85kg
CW: 64.9kg
GW: 59.4kg

SW: 10 Stone 9.6
CW: 10 Stone 3
GW: 9 Stone 5
Next goal - be in the 9s by my holiday!

@happylittletreefriend I hope it works. I'm relying on it at the minute so don't I don't dive for the chocolate. Touch wood, it seems to be working.
We're at the same weight today! Strange. Don't worry about that too much, you can get it back off if you want to. I know it's so upsetting to see the scales go up though! Don't lose hope 👍🏻😀

It's going to be so close on my next goal. I go away to an all inclusive in a week and 4 days. Gives me that long to lose 3 pounds (or 5.5kg - I still haven't decided which units work best for me 😂🙈 is that even right? Idk how it works 5.5kg seems a lot more than 3pounds though I know it's the same) anyways, it'll be close! I CAN do it! Wish me luck people.

And good luck to those WOW today! 👍🏻😀 The posts already are inspiring even if you've stayed and same! At least your trying. And if you've put on, then it's okay too! Tomorrow is a new day. It's a bit annoying but you have a whole new week to try again! 👍🏻😀

Marshmellowbunny · 10/09/2025 08:26

Okay, something has gone wrong somewhere. 3lb is 1.361 kg so I have that much to lose 🙈😂

PreetyinPurple · 10/09/2025 08:28

Doing loads at the gym and I am changing shape, not really reflected on the scales. Oh and we are going for cake today, oops.

SW: 89kg
CW: 84.5kg
GW: under 70kg

never known weight loss to be so hard, I guess this is what menopause is really like! I’m going to try and go to an exercise class later too. Still desperately want to be under 80kg as I know it will help in the gym.

SummerOak · 10/09/2025 09:48

WOW

SW: 69.6 kg
CW: 68.2 kg
GW: 55 kg

Pleasantly surprised by my weight today. I was sure it wasn't going to be budge much as I usually gain 1 kg while on period. But when I went to the shops I didn't buy any crisps or cookies, so basically didn't eat anything 'bad'.

Today's menu:
B: Latte
L: Bagels with chicken
D: scrambled eggs with 1 bread slice

@HappyLittleTreeFriend it's frustrating how fast the weight piles back on. I also think IF I ever reach my goal weight I'll have to keep track of everything for the rest of my life as I just look at some food and gain weight 😅

CarrotVan · 10/09/2025 10:13

@PostpartumMum have you got a baby carrier like an Integra? They make getting out and about a lot easier with little ones (and act as weight vest…) and you can still be more active with your 2yo.

LemonDrizzle23 · 10/09/2025 10:16

@Determinedloser things like cheese, mayo, chocolate etc. so easy to double the calories you think you’re eating without even noticing 😩

Pretty much stay the same for me this week, which is fair enough given the extra chocolate that snuck in. I just went out for a very soggy walk! We’ve had 4 months of good weather and have been for a walk after drop off most mornings. Looking at the weather, I think it might sadly be time to head back to the gym. I did 3.7km out of 5km, but when I couldn’t see through my glasses anymore it was time to head home!

Well done to everyone WOWing today!

FjordFancier · 10/09/2025 13:31

Please can I join for this month?
Not sure how much I weigh at the moment but my jeans are horribly tight. Been very stressed with family issues, having to leave my job and surrendering one of my dogs tomorrow to a rescue centre :(
my weight has crept up and up and I also drink alcohol most nights since moving to my partners house.
i would like to lose between 0.5kg and 1kg by the end of the month.

Thank you for letting me join in and thanks for the tip about looking in the cupboard for bags of rice etc. I can’t believe how weighty a kilo of rice is. No wonder I feel so tired as I’ve put on at least 5kg in the past few years. No more stress at work now though so hoping I can knuckle down and stop burying my head in the sand.

dayslikethese1 · 10/09/2025 14:38

Welcome fjord I have issues with drinking too many nights a week as well so trying to work on that.

Normally weigh Fridays but was feeling light this morning so decided to go for it 😆 Up 1lb which I'm so happy with since, as previously mentioned, the last 2/3 weeks haven't been great. I think I'd like to lose another 4/5 lbs and then I'd have a little leeway.

Since I'm apple shaped though, I feel like I always have a belly no matter what I lose. Right now for example, I've lost over a stone since June; my boobs have shrunk and even my fingers are skinnier but my belly still looks big 😳

FridayNighFeeling · 10/09/2025 20:21

Well done WOWers. I didn't get on the scales today. It's been horribly stressful here, but I think I kept food in control.

FjordFancier · 10/09/2025 20:46

Thank you @dayslikethese1 and congratulations on not having gained much at all! That’s brilliant.
i have managed not to drink anything this evening which is a good start! Greek yoghurt and chopped banana for breakfast. I had 3 poached eggs with a few cherry tomatoes and rehydrated seaweed for lunch.
i then made a frittata with a ton of veg and some chilli salmon so had 6 bantam eggs today but I made do with what we had. We have chickens so always have eggs :)
I also made an apple crumble of which I’ve had quite a large portion of…not ideal but I have done 20,000 steps. I haven’t drunk enough water so going to top up now.

we have a tasting dinner tomorrow night- I’ll try to eat small amounts and just sip the wine (I don’t like wine too much unless it’s fizz!)
and drinks out on Friday, dinner out on Saturday and a Sunday lunch out. This is a very unusually busy week. My partner is v sociable. I am much more an introvert so tend to drink when I’m out to relax. I’m considering saying I am on antibiotics or something to avoid alcohol this weekend. Our friends are lovely but do drink a lot so I need to be prepared. I felt quite unwell last time after a boozy dinner with them

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 10/09/2025 23:13

I maintained this week. A little disappointed, but at the same time, not unexpected - big birthday celebration, and I’ve been frustrated in my exercise attempts due to a health issue. I’m going away for the weekend, so this next week isn’t going to be brilliant. It’s frustrating that after losing three stone, this goal of another half a stone has eluded me for a year now! But I’ll keep on trying!

socks1107 · 11/09/2025 07:56

My one night off in months and months saw a couple of pound increase yesterday which was ok, today however I’m 4lbs up.
4 bloody pounds from one meal. So now I’ve 9lb to loose again in two weeks and not 5. I’m back at my July weight. I am such a slow looser it’s ridiculous. Month 9 and I’ll likely lose nothing with a holiday factored in.

Jecstar · 11/09/2025 08:22

Weighed yesterday but then forgot to post. A gain of 1 3/4lbs. So disheartening - I was perhaps not so strict with weighing and calorie counting but I would say I’ve eaten relatively ok, walked 30mins a day and only alcohol at the weekend.

It all seems so easy when I put everything into nutracheck in the morning but it always seems so hard in the moment.

Will be back to tracking everything this week.

FridayNighFeeling · 11/09/2025 08:33

I think all we can do is keep going and focus on the positive changes and how good it is to nourish our bodies with proper food rather than junk (in my case anyway) Now trying to follow sort of 80/20 and I do feel better in my clothes even if the scales haven't budged in a couple of weeks.

I really wanted to dive into a sharing bag of pop corn last night, but decided not to and I'm pleased this morning.

Fellsbells · 11/09/2025 09:32

@socks1107 it’s probably 4lbs of mostly water and a bit of food in your system. It’ll be gone in a day or two.

Determinedloser · 11/09/2025 10:18

Up 0.8lbs this morning. Why can’t it just be linear!!!

But in seriousness so much affects our weight on a daily basis. Eg @socks1107 there is simply no way you’ve gained that weight from that one meal - it’ll just be water so don’t let it throw you off and lead you to giving up. You’d need to eat well over 10000 extra calories to gain that weight so unless you really went for it then it’s not possible. I try so hard to keep the ‘science’ and maths of it in my head. Same when I’m slightly disappointed to only lose 0.5lbs in a week - that’s what the maths allow for so why am I surprised?!

Good luck everyone!
