It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

I find weighing more than once a week and looking at the average, or weighing every 2-4 weeks (if you can stand the wait!) more helpful. I find my cycle affects my weights, as well as a difficult stressful day at work or a special occasion. Just one weigh in doesn't give the whole picture.

Today:
B-boiled egg, rye toast with butter, coffee with milk
S-fruit and a piece of chocolate cake (couldn't resist it in the staffroom!)
L - spicy pumpkin soup with bread and butter/cream cheese
D - surprise! DH is cooking. I predict some kind of pasta dish.

Onionringswithasideofgravey · 11/09/2025 10:45

Been on it with the PT for almost 2 weeks now. I am working my ass off at 5.45am every.single.bloody.morning. I have still lost nothing - no loss of lbs/BMI/fat loss.

I am not drinking alcohol, no crap/junk, eating lean meats/protein, don't drink fizzy drinks as I don't like them .. and NOT ONE SINGLE RUDDY LB HAS COME OFF AND THERE HAS BEEN NO FAT LOSS. FCK this (but still carrying on). I don't care about being healthy or strong ..I just want toned and slim

I am doing lots of cardio and weights with the PT.

I am beyond frustrated.

Edited to add the next strategy will be to start eating like a sparrow .. and a baby one at that ..

SummerOak · 11/09/2025 13:05

@Onionringswithasideofgravey that does sound frustrating. But something must budge eventually and the weight should start to come off.

I have a pretty busy week and a half coming up with lots of food. I'll try to eat sensibly but we'll see how that actually goes. My goal will be to not gain any more weight.

FjordFancier · 11/09/2025 14:09

Weighed myself at my mum’s 10.1 st
I was dreading being 10.7 as I was earlier this year so not such a bad surprise.
I am doing the Slimpid trial and am finding it helpful so far. I am a bit hungry at the moment but don’t really want to eat yet. I had 2 eggs and sausages for breakfast.
My dog was collected this morning and went off to a foster home. Lots of tears shed and I would’ve eaten a ton of sugar as a coping mechanism but I don’t want to. I just feel sad and actually that’s okay.

FjordFancier · 11/09/2025 14:11

Slimpod sorry ^^
I hadn’t heard of it before but like the premise and I have had good success with hypnotic type things previously

PreetyinPurple · 11/09/2025 14:51

@Onionringswithasideofgraveysame. I joined the gym a month ago, I have a programme with weights which I’ve been increasing and I’ve started doing more and more cardio. I also go to a class once a week.
I’ve lost almost nothing in that time. I have hugely reduced what I was eating over this time.
I have more muscles and have tightened up/shrunk. I have lots of weight to lose though. I keep thinking I’ll jump on the scales one morning and a bunch will have come off.
Incredibly frustrating.

Marshmellowbunny · 11/09/2025 15:28

@FjordFancier
I didn't want to just read and then disappear. What you have going on sounds really terrible but good for you for recognising that it's ok to just be sad 👍🏻 have you planned in something like a movie in bed where you can just have a good cry and forget about everything else for a while?

Hope things improve for you and you're in my thoughts. I'm really admiring your maturity 🩷

dayslikethese1 · 11/09/2025 19:41

Was on a work night last night so a lil too much beer may have been consumed 😳(though I did switch to zero beer after a certain point so could have been worse). Food was OK; I had breakfast in the hotel so skipped lunch, might have soup for tea since it's so grim today and I want something warming.

FjordFancier · 11/09/2025 22:18

@Marshmellowbunny thank you so much. That’s really kind of you 🙏 and a movie in bed is a great idea 💜 the rescue have been in touch to say my dog is settling in at his foster home so this was lovely to hear

biscuitcat · 12/09/2025 11:04

Yesterday was a bit of a disaster! The dinner I was cooking went wrong in about 6 different ways, and all three kids were being a nightmare so neither of us felt up to making something different. Got a takeaway instead which we couldn’t even enjoy as the baby wouldn’t settle, and hardly did all night 😩

My aim today is not to overcompensate for being knackered and frustrated by eating too much!!

The menu for the day is:

B - Greek yoghurt with strawberries and honey
L - tbc depending on how I feel! Baguette or omelette I think
D - carbonara
Snacks - likely to be my downfall if anything is! The plan is grapes and maybe a biscuit as I have homemade ones at the moment

LemonDrizzle23 · 12/09/2025 11:19

Have started reigning things in and weight is going down again. 1.5lbs away from seeing a 13… Need to not ruin things over the weekend!

socks1107 · 12/09/2025 13:26

I’ve lost just over 1lb that 4lb gain I had in two days. It’s ruined my moving average and im shocked at how one meal can do that but I keep going.
drinking water and reduced my calories today. Will bounce back to up 1600 on Sunday

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 12/09/2025 17:21

Keeping on keeping on! Even though I’m out for dinner tonight I’m going to be mindful and have a salad option, alcohol will be consumed but I’ve budgeted for it so will finish the week well under my goal calorie count as long as I don’t give in to a takeaway option on Saturday night!

B: Coffee with oat milk x 2
L: Sausages, an egg and a slice of toast
D: Falafal salad

No snacks today other than a few baby plum tomatoes

SummerOak · 13/09/2025 09:39

We're going to a friend's for coffee and cake so I need to be extra careful with rest of the meals.

B: Cappuccino+ 2 biscuits
L: Chicken with a bagel
S: coffee+ cake
D: courgette soup

Also we'll go for a longish walk so hope it counters the cake a bit.

PreetyinPurple · 13/09/2025 10:00

Couple of days over my calories, I actually thought it might kick off some weight loss. Instead little difference.
I suspect I will have to drop my calories but I’m struggling as I do so much in the gym, on those days I am starving afterwards. It never used fo be this hard

frostedshreddie · 13/09/2025 10:06

Hi all I'm still here in the background. Well done for losses and well done for carrying on through the frustrations if no loss.

I didn't weigh this week. Not in the right headspace. We are moving house soon so lots going on and hard to keep any sort of routine when house is in chaos!!
I am trying to just be mindful and focus on healthy where I can. I had a lie in this morning as it was 2am before I fell asleep last night. I just had such a gorgeous breakfast which was protein seeded bagel, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs with a side of raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and blueberries, tiniest drizzle of honey 🤌🏻
Coffee and massive drink of water. Sat in the garden watching the birds. 😌

Onionringswithasideofgravey · 13/09/2025 10:53

Weigh in today with the PT... and I've lost body fat!

Pleased With that. Slow and steady wins the race

Keep going everyone.

Determinedloser · 13/09/2025 11:29

Hit half a stone today! It will of course go back up but it’s the first time I’ve hit that goal on the scale. So 50% of the way to my initial goal of a stone.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

LegoTherapy · 13/09/2025 12:01

Finally a loss here. Down to 55.55kg this morning after being over 56kg for what felt like ages.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/09/2025 12:03

Well done @Onionringswithasideofgravey , @Determinedloser , @LegoTherapy . Some great results here!

Ate a late breakfast here, so going for a two meal no snack day I think.

Fellsbells · 13/09/2025 13:17

I’ve lost a stone in 8 weeks purely through stress. I don’t recommend it as a weight loss technique, but it is effective.

Ironically I don’t feel any better about my body than I did before. My clothes are a bit baggy and I look a bit deflated. No doubt the weight will go back on at some point and I need to remember that happiness isn’t found in a goal weight. I am much more than my weight.

FjordFancier · 13/09/2025 14:18

Well done everyone! Lovely to read your updates.
I’ve drunk wine on Thursday and Friday nights and might do so tonight but I’m definitely eating a lot less overall this week. The wine will negate this but really counting the no snacking as a major win for me.
I think Slimpod is helping to reprogramme my brain! I am also waiting for my Invislyn trays to arrive at the dentist which will also cut down on the random eating throughout the day I hope.

Emmadaily · 13/09/2025 16:05

Hi everyone Hope all is well with you all.
Some nice updates here congrats to all
@Fellsbells
I'm sorry that you are having such a stressful time and your weight loss is not being celebrated as seems you are quite unwell and I wouldn't like to lose weight in such circumstances.
Hopefully you are feeling much better very soon Xx
I have now lost one stone exactly with Slimming world and I recueved my 1 stone award this morning which I'm very pleased about
Decided to treat myself to a pair of Jean's from New Look ☺
They are a little tight but I know by goal weight they will fit perfect .
Quite happy about my new found healthy eating and my weight this morning.
Happy week to everyone and good luck xx

WearyAuldWumman · 13/09/2025 16:28

Well, have had a few glitches.

Lost the 2lbs holiday weight, but I'm sticking. Currently lacking the willpower to cut my calories even more.

Have tried to increase my gym time. Currently doing a teeny bit of work in the gym on Mondays plus my pilates class. Pulled my left hamstring getting off the floor last Monday...Think it's settled now.

Tuesdays, I've joined the 20 minutes stretch class plus doing a teeny bit of gym work.

Wednesdays, I have the 45 minute senior flex class - weights are involved, plus cardio. I don't attempt the squats - I do sit-to-stand with a 3.75 kilo weight instead whilst everyone else is squatting. Later, I have the hour Active for Health class - I take that easy.

I've been in the gym today. Warm-up and then managed only 8 lat pulls at 30kg; 3 sets of 10 for triceps and biceps.

2 sets of 10 at 21kg for the calf machine and one set at 28kg. Tried 40kg for the leg press, but had to cut to 30 after the first set - felt my left knee going.

I'm trying to remember to do stretches.

I'll have to bit the bullet and cut my calories if I want to lose more weight, I know.

I'm remembering to "engage the core" when I'm exercising - more than I did, anyway. I think my sides have come in a bit more, but I could do with liposuction for my belly and thighs.

My thighs and knees look so much fatter than my lower legs now. I don't think it's lipoedema - I think it's just the way my old lady fat is hanging!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/09/2025 21:13

Today was breakfast - baked eggs, cheese, bacon
Snack - bubble tea, no sugar no milk but I can never quantify the calories in them
Dinner - Tuna wrap, no mayo.

And coffees here and there. OK for a Saturday.
