We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Ouch @Jecstar that's a real pain (literally!)

Just to test out a theory, I got on the scales again this morning and I'm up 0.3kg from yesterday and because I normally weigh in the bathroom upstairs, I also tried downstairs on the kitchen floor and that's another 0.3kg over the upstairs. Guess the moral of the story is choosing one spot and sticking with it!

Hope you feel you make progress before you go away, but just try to enjoy the holiday regardless @socks1107

HOpe you're doing OK @TheRealHousewife and welcome on board @wherewillwegoto - off to a great start!

Marshmellowbunny · 18/09/2025 16:24

@socks1107 I'm glad you're feeling better. Annoying about the nutritionist. Did she apologise? I'm with you on the frustration of trying to meet a goal before a holiday but it seems like she goosed it up for you good and proper. Enjoy your holiday regardless. Life really is too short not to have a good time!!

I weighed again today and I'm at 10:1.2. sooo close. Going to hold off weighing until Saturday morning and I'm hoping a bit more will be gone! I'm so close yet I feel so far away! 🤣🙈

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 18/09/2025 18:12

Glad you’re feeling a bit better today @socks1107 An active holiday will definitely help maintain at least, ours did. I meant to weigh this morning to see how it compared to yesterday but I forgot before breakfast. I like to weight at same time and spot @FridayNighFeeling so I get a fair comparison even if the scales are a bit off. No exercise today, I’m easing off cardio until some congestion eases off and focussing on strength which I’ve done twice since Monday already. I’ve been really congested for weeks, which leaves me out of puff quite quickly, I really must do something about trying to clear it.

Jecstar · 18/09/2025 21:28

@FridayNighFeeling my scales are the same, they vary depending on where on the bathroom floor they are.

WearyAuldWumman · 18/09/2025 23:42

Have been trying on clothes.

When I started, I had to get size 22 trousers to accommodate my waist, though the rest of me wasn't quite as big.

Have tried on a couple of pairs of size 20 zip-up trousers. I still need that for the waistline, but they look ridiculous on me: the thighs are noticeably baggy at the front and the crutch is all puffy. (One of the pair has never been worn - the label is still on - they haven't been stretched out.)

I can get into size 18 trousers and shorts (!) with elasticated waists, so I'm taking the size 20 zip-ups to a charity shop.

Brilliant! And someone browsing the charity shop will be happy to find them.

Welcome @wherewillwegoto

Not sure what I’m up to today, food wise. I have the last of the fresh ready meals I’d ordered in, so the easiest thing would be two meals no snacks today, but let’s see how I get on. I have my younger kids at home today and usually end up in the kitchen stress eating biscuits.

Emmadaily · 19/09/2025 07:20

@WearyAuldWumman
Well done you are doing great
Good you are getting rid of the old trousers and ready to replace with a new pair till those are no longer fitting to .
I shall be doing a trying on some jeans this weekend and will see what needs to go .
I have my eating plan sorted for today ( i do a weekly chart one)
Extra good today with a gentle exercise thrown in.
Weigh in tomorrow morning at my Slimming world group
If i lose one pound i will have lost 10 per cent of my body weight.
Another award to come my way ☺
Fingers crossed i do it .
Have a lovely happy weekend folks
Xx

Finally lost some weight after putting weight on over the past couple of weeks:

SW 13st 3.6
CW 12st 12.6

So 5lbs this week! I’ve cut down on calories and been walking more. Hopefully this continues into the next week!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! 😊

biscuitcat · 19/09/2025 09:15

@Marshmellowbunny I haven’t tried those, thanks for the suggestion!

I weighed in this morning and am in the 13s! First time I’ve seen it so I don’t feel I own it yet, but moving in the right direction. We’re having homemade (ish - I bought the bases!) pizza tonight so will decide carefully on my other meals to keep within my target.

Onionringswithasideofgravey · 19/09/2025 09:30

I'm 3 weeks in with a PT, going every day. Diet is good ( I think!) .... and I have only lost 0.8 body fat and 4lbs. I am focusing on fat loss. Doing weights with PT and cardio.

At this rate it is going to take forever ....😭

PreetyinPurple · 19/09/2025 11:57

My weight is slightly up again. Went to a hard class on Wednesday and been to the gym this morning.
I did eat slightly more Wednesday because I was absolutely ravenous from long session at gym on Tuesday.

I will admit I am smaller. I really want to get to under 80kg as I promised myself a big treat!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 19/09/2025 15:41

Must do strength class later. And DH and I are refraining from Friday night wine. I’ve had no loss in the three weeks since I set my ‘6lbs in 6 weeks till holiday’ goal, so I need to be stricter with myself. Hoping to get back to some cardio next week in addition to strength classes. I went over my calories by about 200 yesterday, but doing better today so far.

Good luck with the weekend distractions everyone!

socks1107 · 19/09/2025 20:20

Cutting down to 1200 calories hasn’t worked. I was so hungry earlier I felt ill. I’ve sort of accepted I’ll be 11.7 for my holiday. I’m sad, really sad and feel such a failure and a bit broken.
9 months of counting and I’ve only done 2.5 stone - feels like everyone around me is much smaller and my weight seems a bit stuck.

anxious about coming home back in the 12s and frightened I’ll get stuck there. But I think some time off will do my head good I’ve become a bit obsessed so having no scales will
probably do me good for a week. Just wish I was 11stone, I wanted to be 11.7 early July and am
only just there and it feels every time I lose 5lbs I then get stuck for a month.

ahh enough of my moaning!!

LemonDrizzle23 · 19/09/2025 21:02

@socks1107 sorry you’re still struggling. 2.5 stone is an amazing amount! I hope you find a way to enjoy your holiday in your current body, even if it’s not quite what you wanted.

Well my body celebrated being grams away from the 13s, by giving me a mild stomach bug. I always think it will make me lose weight, but it never does as I just spend the day eating bread and salty things! Haven’t moved off the couch today either as legs have felt like lead. Hopefully can get back to normal by Sunday.

How is everyone spending their weekends? I’ve cancelled plans so I don’t spread the joy…

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 20/09/2025 07:21

2.5 stone is great @socks1107 it really is. Like @LemonDrizzle23 says, I hope you find a way to enjoy your holiday as your are.

i woke up really early this morning, so i have been idly surfing for inspiration to increase my fibre and protein. Particularly at lunch time. Apart from anything else, i hope it fills me up so I’m not hungry after dinner. I thought I did ok on the protein front, but looking over recent data, I can see it could be better. I struggle with consistently getting enough fibre though.

Marshmellowbunny · 20/09/2025 07:48

@socks1107 as @LemonDrizzle23 and @whatwouldthedoctordo said 2.5 stone is amazing! I really hope you can find it in you to enjoy your holiday especially considering what you've done is such a massive achievement.

@LemonDrizzle23 I hope you feel better soon 👍🏻

Going away today and I just weighed again. 2lbs off 10stone. Not too far off my goal but still frustrating. Oh well. I'm going to just try and enjoy myself...I never go all inclusive so it's probably not going to be good for the old weight but oh well. It's rare that I do it so I'll enjoy it and deal with the consequences when I return.

I won't be around next week but I'm wishing you all all the luck in the world.

You can do this 💪🏻

WearyAuldWumman · 20/09/2025 10:43

Weighed myself this morning and for one brief shining moment had lost another half pound. Moved the scales slightly to another part of the floor and was back up again.

WearyAuldWumman · 20/09/2025 10:49

Have been reading online articles about weight clinging to certain areas. They seem to agree that weight in women hangs around the buttocks and thighs.

In my case, my boobs have gone down, my buttocks have gone down, my thighs have shifted to an extent.

All the blubber is clinging to the front of my stomach - the sides have gone in a bit.

In other news - if you ignore the stomach (!) to paraphrase one of my husband's favourite expressions, Sweaty Betty leggings would make a woman out of nothing. Honestly, I'm 65 and my arse hasn't looked this good in years. The legs don't look bad either. That is all.

Onionringswithasideofgravey · 20/09/2025 10:57

Weighed in with the PT today. Body fat is greater than when I started and I've lost about 2oz in a week

Absolutely devastated. I have worked so hard in the gym.

We went out last night for curry and drinks. I had tikka, no rice, salad, shared 2 popadoms with dips. Around 4 glasses of wine. Could this be the increase from last night ?

Feel like giving up. But I'm not

WearyAuldWumman · 20/09/2025 11:20

Honestly, I'm not certain that these body fat monitors are that accurate. My body fat percentage is supposedly up 1 or 2 per cent, but I know that it's not - based on appearance.

I can tell you that my boobs are better than they were and my backside is definitely firmer.

FridayNighFeeling · 20/09/2025 12:09

I agree that these things are notoriously inaccurate unless done in lab conditions, but I'd leave it a day or 2 and have another look or it's even recommended to do daily and then do an average @Onionringswithasideofgravey

For the sake of being honest, yesterday went very badly. Hot, stressy day with everything getting on top of me and I ate both chocolate and ice cream and take away pizza.

Today won't be great either as it's birthday celebrations, but planning to draw a line tomorrow when I get back to normal eating/fasting.

I made a lovely butternut squash and butter bean chicken soup which I had for lunch yesterday and will today - with a slice of rye. And some for the freezer.

wherewillwegoto · 20/09/2025 12:55

Great to read how everyone's doing.

I'm trying to weigh once a week so I'll weigh myself tomorrow. It's not been a bad week, although I'm struggling to stick to 16:8 but have eaten low carb most of the time.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 20/09/2025 13:26

@Onionringswithasideofgravey - I never weigh the morning after alcohol, it adds several pounds.

biscuitcat · 20/09/2025 14:26

Oh @socks1107 it’s so frustrating - but do reflect on just how far you’ve come!

I’m hosting 10 for a roast today so I expect calories will be slightly over - but there are homemade dauphinoise and brownies so it’s worth it, and I ate less earlier in the day to compensate for some of the likely excesses!

Scales were down about 500g from yesterday for some reason - I think that’s probably a bit of an anomaly but if I can equal it for my ‘official’ weigh in on Wednesday I’ll be pleased - it has me 1.5lbs away from 2 stone lost in total.

Emmadaily · 20/09/2025 14:48
