⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

I logged onto MFP for the first time this week in ages. And remembered why I find it such a faff. Seems designed to be useful if you're just scanning labels but when you cook from scratch it's such a pain to add in all the individual ingredients or recipes (which are not working for me atm so can't add any new recipes).

But checking how many calories there were in my flatbreads yesterday (50g of flour per flatbread) has made me realize that 1 would have been enough so going to lower my lunch intake for today!

socks1107 · 12/08/2025 08:07

I’m up on the scales 3lb from Saturday?! I’ve been in a deficit so I assume it’s heat related and not real gain. Trying not to obsess about the actual figure

Determinedloser · 12/08/2025 21:04

Went out for ice cream tonight and had to kind of guesstimate calories. I think I am still within my daily limit though.

Looking forward to WOW tomorrow. It’s sad how excited I am to weigh every day Grin

LittleCarrot12 · 12/08/2025 21:27

@socks1107 Frustrating when that happens. Hopefully will balance out

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/08/2025 07:34

WoW here is 74.4kg / 164lbs. I'm happy. It's TOTM but I think after I will set a gentle goal of 74kg, so aiming to get reliably under that. I'm between a size 12 and 14 for a lot of clothes and I'd love to be reliably 12.

I am happy with how I managed food on holiday - I didn't feel deprived and I ate lots of hearty food, not all of it very healthy, but the 16:8 approach really worked for me.

Still school hols here which brings its own stresses but let's see.

Good luck anyone else weighing in today.

Raindancer411 · 13/08/2025 07:48

So I am a happy bunny this morning when I weighed. After a holiday and putting some on, and a BBQ at the weekend, I am back to the not eating between 6pm-10am, this was the scales:

SW: 134.4lbs
CW: 127.8lbs
GW: 114lbs

So my current weight at its lowest in July was 127.7lb, so hopefully back to losing some now. Plus I look reasonably trim this morning, and the belly doesn’t look as sticky out 😂

socks1107 · 13/08/2025 08:03

I’m up this week. Had hoped it was the heat but looking at your losses it clearly isn’t.
after 8 months I’m now bored, bored of counting calories, weighing food, missing stuff even in moderation. Bored and fed up and back at my third stall. I’ve lost 2stone 3 in eight months and I expected a lot more by now. It’s so disheartening and I’m wandering shall I just give up go back to a bmi of 30 and take the injection? I won’t be under 11stone for holiday anyway at this rate

Marshmellowbunny · 13/08/2025 08:07

SW: 10 Stone 9.6
CW: 10 Stone 6.4
GW: 9 Stone 5

SW: 67.85kg
CW: 66.40kg
GW: 59.4kg

Just back from holiday so it's better than expected. Still down overall! Ate and drank what I want while travelling and it was amazing. Possibly the best holiday I've been on.

Bought some collagen powder when I got back. Just had my first spoonful in my brew and it is actually tasteless 😲
I didn't expect it to be even though it says it is!

Well done everybody whose sticking to their goals 🩷

Determinedloser · 13/08/2025 08:10

SW 11 stone (31/07)
CW 10 stone 11.2
Total loss 2.8lbs

That’s such an amazing loss in that space of time. Well done. Just keep on going and it will come off eventually. Have you recalculated calories for your new weight?

frostedshreddie · 13/08/2025 08:56

WOW this week is 9 st 13.6 lbs, clinging to the 9s for dear life 🤣 no I am happy with that after the birthday cake that has been munched. Got another lot of big birthday celebrations this weekend (for a family member) and so will have to be very mindful to stay here.

Hope everyone is doing ok in this heat.

SW - 10 st 8.0 (April 25)
CW - 9 st 13.6
GW - 9 st 7.0

biscuitcat · 13/08/2025 09:03

I’m 2lb down this week, which is welcome after a couple of really slow weeks. To meet my goal for August I need to lose about 3.5lbs more which I think (hope!) is manageable.

@socks1107 you’ve done absolutely incredibly, huge well done - 2 stone is amazing! I’m still a good stone within eligibility for the jabs but I can’t lie and say I’ve not wondered, once I get close to that weight, am I best maintaining for a bit until I finish breastfeeding and then restarting with the extra help they provide - a couple of months for me to make the decision at least. There’s absolutely no shame in deciding that is the right path for you - maybe give it another few weeks or a month and see if you get a whoosh then make the call?

PreetyinPurple · 13/08/2025 09:50

Went out for lunch yesterday and went way over my calories but weight is only up a tiny bit, hopefully down tomorrow.

Fellsbells · 13/08/2025 10:09

Forgot to Wow this morning so I’ll Wot tomorrow.
My positives are I’ve been for a run. Negatives are I didn’t track yesterday and probably went well over calories.

LemonDrizzle23 · 13/08/2025 12:03

@PatienceOfEngels you feel my pain! It is frustrating. I’ve had a few days of rest and it is feeling a little better. As we go away next week I’m going to keep erring on the side of caution instead of throwing myself back into exercise.

Completely forgot today was WOW. Or even that it was Wednesday 😂 Based on the last few days, I continue to stay the same. I think that might have to be my new August goal….

ThrivingIn2025ing · 13/08/2025 14:01

Weight stayed the same, which I’m grateful for as I haven’t been doing too well. Reloaded MFP this morning so I can track what I’m eating because I’m grazing far too much throughout the day. Hoping to lose 2lbs by this time next week IF I can stop eating rubbish in the evenings.

What one are you using? I was debating some as my knee has started to hurt and my mum is on her second month of it and her joints and stiffness has improved.

WearyAuldWumman · 13/08/2025 15:47

Back to my regular gym routine. Heading out to classes today.

The woman who measured me at the local orthotics department informed me that I have stiff ankles and should ask my trainer for exercises for them. Am now using the calf stretch machine at the gym. Thought I was using 20kg, but apparently the weights on that one machine are in 7.5kg increments, so I'd only been doing 15kg, around the same amount of weight that I've lost - so no heavier a load than when I was trying calf stretches without weight. Now using three plates, so 22.5kg.

I got the willpowders one because there was a discount on it 🤣 I was going to get the Ancient and Brave one but I changed my mind at the last minute!

PreetyinPurple · 13/08/2025 20:38

Walked for an hour this morning and did 40 minutes on the bike.
and I finally relented and joined the local authority gym scheme. 4 different gyms, pool and classes. Scared though!

Medee · 13/08/2025 21:36

First weigh in for 4 weeks, a period which includes a holiday, so I was delighted to have broken the stone marker!

Start 14/5- 14 stone exactly
4/6 - 13st8lb
25/6- 13st4lb
16/7- 13st 2lb
13/8 - 12st 13lb

Blinkingbother · 14/08/2025 06:36

Still haven’t dared weigh myself - just don’t have the confidence to do it. About to go away somewhere glam and know I’m going to be the frumpiest there and don’t want to make it worse! I’ve been running almost every day except for 5 when I had totm…. Feeling much better in myself and definitely think my stomach is a bit flatter and less bloated but tried on a pair of trousers yesterday and they’re still very (very!) tight…will hope the next week makes a bit more difference…

Good luck blinking! It’s absolutely fine to measure yourself on trousers, inches etc if scales don’t feel right just now.

Jecstar · 14/08/2025 07:31

Weighed yesterday and then life got busy so forgot to check in.
SW - 13st 7
CW - 13st 5.5lbs

That is a lb loss this week. Thank you to all the very kind posters who reassured me when I had a wobble after weigh in mid-week when I thought I’d put on weight.

Think being strict with the IF has helped this week along with trying to be more accurate tracking calories as well as getting out for at least a 30min walk everyday.

PatienceOfEngels · 14/08/2025 08:11

Absolutely melting here. 34 degrees yesterday and today as well. After 4 days of 30+ temperatures it's so warm in our house. It's set to dip a bit tomorrow to 30 and then to 25 for a few days which will feel blissful. Keeping my fingers crossed it won't go above 30 next week as I'm back to school.

Was so warm yesterday I couldn't even bring myself to cook some chicken for salad in the evening so we had tuna wraps. Used up the last of my flatbreads yesterday with some homemade hummus and raw broccoli. Yoga done and 5 minute strength workout before breakfast. Greek yoghurt and peach snack. One million ice collies and lots of water.

Had a swim on Tuesday for the first time in ages. Even though I'm really slow, it felt so good (especially in the heat). I might go again either alone tomorrow or at the weekend with DC2 (DC1 is being very teenagery atm - doesn't want to do anything)

Heading out for a walk in the woods shortly to get some steps in and then a supermarket dash for some soft fruit and picky bits for dinner tonight. I absolutely hate it when it's this hot, can't wait to be cooking properly again.

Finally have a loss on the scale! 76.6kg this morning - down half a kilo since the weekend. I think I need to measure myself as well, haven't done it for a while.

Going to do the best to enjoy the rest of my holiday and not feel guilty about not doing any school work (I usually go in for a day during the last week of the holiday but it's been too bloody hot!). Still, have some free time on Monday's inset to get sorted for week 1.

Well done @Medee ! That must be a great motivation boost.

@PreetyinPurple well done for being brave and signing up. I get anxious about that sort of thing as well.

@LemonDrizzle23 I was feeling so lucky that I'd managed to get through 2 pregnancies with no pf issues (youngest DC is now 10) and then stress of finishing my master's thesis what pushed my pf to it's limit. I have to be mindful of it all the time now. It's like my canary in the coal mine for stress. As soon as it starts twinging I know I need to slow down and try to be calm (which is really hard with my job and with my ND family). It's why I prioritize stress relief and relaxation as well as diet/exercise. Everything is linked together with me.
