Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️ Juicy July 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Weight still stuck. Thinking of dropping my calories. Gym induction in an hour after a horrible hot sleep!

Fellsbells · 14/08/2025 10:48

My Weight is still slowly creeping upwards. So annoying that anything other than constant vigilance means a rise. I snacked after dinner last night which was a mistake.

socks1107 · 14/08/2025 11:10

Mine has crept up again today. I’m so down with it. I’ve got into a loop about what steps to take next. I desperately want to make my September goal but it’s highly unlikely looking at today’s weight.
I had a swim last night, stuck to calories, slept well and still put on half a pound. Been going around the same weight for two weeks. Am feeling really angry with it all tbh

PatienceOfEngels · 14/08/2025 12:16

Almost the end of the summer holiday here and wanted to give my boys a treat lunch (as DH is out for lunch!). usually I would go to McDonalds with them but I really didn't want to put myself in temptation's way so we made our own Big Mac wraps instead. Really yummy and healthier than McDonalds (plastic cheese aside!) but again....did I need 2?! This is our dinner as we're heading to the cinema right around dinnertime so will probably just have a sandwich or cheese/crackers/salad bits later.

So bloody hot 😰

Determinedloser · 14/08/2025 13:16

Seems a few of us are hanging onto our weight this weather! I was down a lb this wow from last wow but actually had dropped most of that lb by Thursday last week and have just hovered since then.

Am going to stick with it though because a lb or more could come off tomorrow and set me back on an even keel. My prediction for my stone loss has gone from early October to into November which is annoying but it will hopefully change again.

We all just need to stick with it.

PreetyinPurple · 14/08/2025 13:55

Went to my gym induction and they couldn’t have been nicer. I did an hour on my own and I am shattered!

WearyAuldWumman · 14/08/2025 16:37

Had two classes yesterday and a short gym session today - 2 min warm-up on the SPARC; 4X10 side bends and twists using a 6kg kettle bell for my obliques; 5 25kg and 35 20kg lat pulls with 'angels' in between; 3X10 22.5kg calf raises.

Got a shock when I saw myself in the mirror yesterday at the first class yesterday - I've lost 2 stones and feel better in myself, but I still look like an elephant in comparison to the other women at the class: my height is definitely a contributing factor, but the main problem is the weight I'm carrying on my middle.

I've had a look at photographs of myself when I was 20 and I definitely don't look elephantine there, but I'll never get back down to 9st 6lbs!

On the plus side, the combination of weight loss and exercise means that my old lady boobs are definitely not so droopy...

My weight is currently sticking, so I'm concentrating on building muscle and hoping for the best.

Alwayslearning25 · 14/08/2025 17:42

I haven't been as hungry past few days. Had a load of chocolate though yesterday as I was feeling periody. I also haven't weighed myself recently so will try to remember tomorrow. But today have only had one meal and no snacks. I Overslept so didn't have time for breakfast but didn't feel hungry, but did feel a bit jittery and emotional so won't make a habit of skipping breakfast. I am a bit hungry now.

PropertyGeek525 · 14/08/2025 20:45

Well done everyone! I forgot to update with my WoW yesterday.

I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 1lb, I hoped it would be 2 but I am due on my period tomorrow so any weight loss this week is a bonus, plus with the heat I have indulged in a few magnums.

I have lost cm’s around my waist and my underwear fits nicely rather than being a bit snug so I’m going to take that as a non scale victory.

SW 161lbs
CW 158lbs
GW 154lbs by 1st September

Good Luck

Looked at my BMI and I need to get to 11 stone 4 to be in the green zone. Think I’ll focus on that initially.

Did think I would feel a difference with being 8 lbs down but don’t feel any slimmer

Skyglimmer · 15/08/2025 06:51

I lost 0.5kg this week. I was a bit disappointed but when adding it to last weeks big loss I have lost 1.9kg in under 2 weeks. I still don't think my stomach is going to be much slimmer when I get to goal weight but 5.2kg is still a lot of fat.

ThrivingIn2025ing · 15/08/2025 07:56

I’m doing really well 🙂 finally got my mojo back. Logging everything on MFP is helping to keep me focussed. Not so much looking at the totals at the end but seeing everything adding up over the course of the day. Adding every coffee and snack. It’s helping me see where I’m going wrong.

Do other people still eat treats? Since I started MFP I've kept it to one treat a day (which at the moment is an ice cream). Does anyone manage with nothing, no treats?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/08/2025 08:12

Hi there everyone. I am back after a busy two weeks off work. Lots of socialising and eating and drinking out on a staycation, but I’ve managed not to put on weight which I’m pleased about. So still coming in at 10st 9.

Would love to get nearer to 10st by my October holiday. Though hard to concentrate on healthy eating and exercise when the weather is so nice!

I definitely still eat treats. If it’s within my calories, I’m having it!

Determinedloser · 15/08/2025 08:57

i am 1.4lbs down today from yesterday! Skipped the 10.10s and straight into the 10.9s but I’m sure I’ll see them at some point when my weight fluctuates a bit.

After being the same weight yesterday as I was last Thursday I’m really happy that’s off Grin

I am so loving reading everyone’s updates here.

Yup, welcome! There’s always room, one of the perks of everyone getting smaller Grin

realistic goal - size 12 clothes comfortably

biscuitcat · 15/08/2025 09:59

@ThrivingIn2025ing I absolutely still have treats! There’s no way I’d be able to maintain long term (or to be honest medium or short term…) without, so even if it slows my losses down I’d much rather do it in a sustainable way.

Welcome @CarrotVan! I’m the same height as you and just about the same weight, with a similar goal too 😊 this is such a supportive group, I’ve found it so helpful

LemonDrizzle23 · 15/08/2025 10:40

@PatienceOfEngels sadly a very dodgy birth here - hence only the one DS! But I generally maintain it very well. And you’re right, it’s always the first thing to “go” whenever there’s a problem! Positive thinking and going with the exercises and I’m sure I’ll be back to my “normal” in a few weeks.

Had a pleasant surprise on the scales this morning, as they have actually moved and I hit a new low. I’m now only 0.2lbs off my first 20lbs, so I might actually hit that goal by the end of August after all!

CarrotVan · 15/08/2025 10:56

My husband is also dieting so hopefully that will help. My mother in law (lives with us) is also allegedly dieting but she tends to do three days of juicing and then give up and complain that it’s our fault because we cook too well. And then tells us that we are too fat.

it is wine and stress not food that has caused my weight gain

WearyAuldWumman · 15/08/2025 11:49

Having a coffee at the gym.

2 min SPARC warm up. 3x10 sit to stand with 6kg weight. 4x10 side bends and twists with same weight.

3x10 low row - 30 kg plus a couple at the next weight up.

Leg press - 3x10 at 50kg.

I’m hoping that I’m building muscle.

ThrivingIn2025ing · 15/08/2025 13:18

@biscuitcat thats good to hear! I had a shocking July, that’s the reason I joined the thread. Almost out of control. It’s taken a lot to reign it back in.

The other thing I find really hard is watching the kids eat an ice cream and have nothing. Or they have a pudding after dinner (at 5.30), if I also have pudding I then put them to bed and have 3 hours in the evening with nothing to eat, or just one treat. I’m struggling with that.

I eat loads of fruit during the day so thats out. Although last night I had a second banana just to eat something!!!

I don't eat after the kids are in bed anymore. If I fancied a snack I prepped breakfast, my favourite is trying out different varieties of overnight oats and that satisfies a craving, anticipating breakfast. Then after a week or two of no evening snacking it Didn't feel hungry.

biscuitcat · 15/08/2025 14:01

@ThrivingIn2025ing I really struggle when other people have stuff I want!! My kids are little enough that I can get away with only having snacks/desserts in for them that I don’t get too excited by, so I don’t feel I’m missing out. I’ve also really reduced UPF and definitely tend to binge less on homemade treats - I find they typically have more calories than bought, but I can eat a reasonable amount so overall it’s less as I’m not snacking half a pack of biscuits or whatever, when I only planned to have two.

would something like some full fat Greek yoghurt with grated dark chocolate satisfy an evening craving? It’s filling, not too high in calories, and nice to eat so it doesn’t (to me anyway) feel too ‘diet-y’. The other thing I like is making ‘Eton mess’ with Greek yoghurt, a meringue nest and berries.
