⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT!⭐️Fit & Fabulous February 2025⭐️

Let’s keep the momentum going in Move it More in March!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 2lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

How’s everyone’s weekends. I’ve had to buy some new clothes as I looked like a bag lady. I’ve done a mix of vinted and M&S and am off out to the rugby today feeling good in them!
wont be counting calories today but will track everything I eat and just wind it back a bit next week

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 23/03/2025 07:50

I’m having a good weekend but I’m very tired - me and DH have had a very busy couple of weeks doing work on our house on top of all the usual life stuff and it’s caught up with me, had two very early nights in a row and I still feel pretty knackered but we’ll see how today goes - though he’s at work all day and I’ve got the kids AND house jobs to carry on with so suspect I should get another early night tonight! Though my early night last night meant I didn’t have the couple of glasses of wine I’d planned to have and also skipped dinner which made up for my takeaway splurge on Friday, so it’s all good - and I weighed myself this morning and the scales showed 9st 4 for the first time in I don’t know when! 9st 4.75lbs exactly but I’ll take it 😂 So it’s all going well and in the right direction which gives me a lot of motivation to carry on calorie counting! My aim for this upcoming week is not to let my tiredness and stress get on top of me and make me snack/go for unhealthy options.

AnonymousMum37 · 23/03/2025 16:01

Hi 👋🏼 I'm also feeling really tired and have a cold. We had friends over last night and had pizza and some drinks, but stuck to healthy-ish pizza and didn't go overboard. I'm so tired today though. I haven't lost anything really in 2 weeks which is depressing. I'm feeling low in general.

LighterSpring25 · 23/03/2025 16:33

I feel like the last week it's all gone wrong. I'm not going to weigh on Wednesday. I'm going to try and be good and will weigh next Wednesday. Good luck everyone.

Friartruckster · 23/03/2025 19:55

Just checking in. I set myself the intention of no snacking in the evening, could easily consume 600 calories of nonsense. It’s good to post and remind myself. Very pleased to report I am on schedule. Very happy to continue as is.

Lem0nTang0 · 24/03/2025 09:39

Perimenopaus is fun isnt it!?!
Especially when you are counting calories and trying to reaach a target. The last 2 weeks has seen me gain 8lbs and lose 9 with bloating, constipation, wine to make me feel like bloating isnt happening and the period which will never properly end.
However, OH says you can see the difference, I am still walking daily and I miss it if I dont go, which is very unlike me and I am doing proper weigh in tomorrow.

The mental struggle is the worst part. I know I am in my calories, I know I am exercising but I still panic with the extream rise and fall on the scale. I weigh daily so I can now identify the pattern in cycles in relation to weight and this is the way I keep on track.
It took me nearly 4 decades to realise that the scales are not weighing just fat but all the water weight and fluctuations that come with being alive. 6 months ago this kind of fluctuation would have kicked me off the waggon but now I have learned to breathe deep and keep going. It is working.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 25/03/2025 11:12

Morning on. I think I’ve been doing pretty well on the calorie deficit front, so I am hopeful for a modest lost tomorrow. Some trousers that were a bit tight a couple of weeks ago are definitely more comfortable today!

belnding · 25/03/2025 13:42

I had a bit of a splurge at the weekend. I ate 3 full meals on sat. All full of protein and felt absolutely great- and cruised through a really busy day feeling on top of the world.

but had a bad night sleep due to lots of disruption in the night from children and pets. So felt awful on Sunday- absolutely sick of eggs and had a cake for lunch- which made me in a crazy bad mood for the rest of the day.

Monday and Tuesday sticking to my plan but feeling and looking absolutely ginormous.

planning to switch up my lunches a bit to be less carbs (currently a jacket potato and tuna)

Fellsbells · 25/03/2025 15:27

Same old rollercoaster for me. It’s driven by hormones, but this week is a good week so hopefully it will set the course for the next few months now.

Why is being a woman so difficult? Hormones are a the difference between a great week and a terrible week for me.

StealthyBMI · 25/03/2025 16:06

This afternoon I have eaten a wagon wheel, two chocolate biscuits and a bag of pop chips. Oh and a big handful of nuts that I ate BEFORE finally giving in to the chocolate craving. It's terrible, I've been so good but I just really really needed chocolate and don't have any dark stuff left. Here for accountability to stop me going back for more!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 25/03/2025 19:56

Hormones are a bugger @Fellsbells

good luck with refraining @StealthyBMI

a bad night’s allied is a killer @belnding I go for soup for lunch along with something protein to go with it.

I’ve just done a bodycombat class. Still finding them a lot harder than they were a year ago. It feels like my cardio fitness has fallen through the floor these last few months BUT I keep reminding myself that a few years ago a half hour class was a struggle, now it’s an hour long class and I know that with consistency it will get easier. Bloody hard though.

Fellsbells · 26/03/2025 06:52

Good luck Wowers
I’m down for the week, but still the most I’ve weighed since last summer.

Jaderz · 26/03/2025 07:45

Hi all, hope you are well. I was on the earlier threads but was having a shit time (literally). I had some kind of gastric bug for a whole month but it’s better now - so I then hurt my ankle and my back! I’m so pissed off! I got down to 10st 4 with a goal of 10st but tbh, I think I am going to just stick where I am for now. I’m more bothered about my back pain than my weight right now! 4lbs isn’t really that important. Off on holiday in a couple of weeks and I was determined to be in good health so that’s my focus 🧘

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 26/03/2025 07:50

Take the win @Fellsbells , well done!

I’m around 1.5 - 2lb down from last week, which I am delighted about, weighing in at a smidgeon over 10st 9lb.

i don’t think I’ll get to my GW of 10st by the end of June in time for my summer holidays, but getting to last year’s summer weight of 10st 4lb now feels achievable (so at least last year’s clothes will fit).

today’s plans:

B - scrambled egg with toast
L - I’m out and about for lunch today, will hopefully get some soup and will take some bits with me so I don’t buy crap while I’m out
D - a pork, lentils & veg dish

exercise - either a strength or stretch class depending on how muscles feeling later in the day.

Oh, I’m so pleased to have a loss. Despite good efforts this month, I haven’t really been losing until now. I just need not to sabotage it this weekend with two MD lunches. DH and DS are taking me someone really lovely that I’ve wanted to try for ages (I think because I had so many plans spoiled earlier in the year), and it’s not somewhere for watching the calories!!

IDareSay · 26/03/2025 08:06

SW: 72.5 kg beginning January (I was as high as 74.9kg last year!)
GW1: 70 kg end January (achieved and reset to 69kg)
CW: 66.6 kg 😈 (5.9 kg lost) 26th March
GW2: 65 kg 26th March (in time for weekend away)

300g loss, now weighing 66.6kg so nowhere near my original end March goal of 65kg. I am consoling myself with three things; one, I reset my January target and if I hadn't I would only be 600g short of my original target which (would have been 66kg). Two, I have lost 10cm (4") off my waist! Three, I am very happy to be heading for my weekend away almost 6kg lighter than I was when I started posting on here Grin

I will reset my goals when I get back, taking into account that I am losing fairly slowly but that it seems sustainable. I suspect I will have a significant gain to report, but I will be doing a lot of steps to mitigate the eating and drinking!

LighterSpring25 · 26/03/2025 08:44

I said I wasn't going to weigh but I have and I'm up 1lb since last week which I'm actually pleased with as I thought it would be more. Holiday in 7.5 weeks so would love to lose at least 6lbs to get to 10 stone.

Hopefully April is my month.

socks1107 · 26/03/2025 09:10

I’ve stayed the same this week, I had a boozy Saturday and ate more than I should Sunday so not surprised. I am loving wearing the next down in trousers though and have also moved into the 70kg bracket and also overweight on bmi charts. So it’s all positive and I need to stay focused.
I had a goal for this week and I’m 2lbs off but ok with that I think

belnding · 26/03/2025 09:10

SW 72kg
CW 72.7kg
GW 68kg.

I’ve switched to weighing first thing in the morning, so for that reason alone I’m lighter than last week.

we didn’t have scales in the house until this month- as I thought it was bad to weigh yourself. But I May have been more thinking of the dangers of getting obsessed and an eating disorder. But given that I’m 45 and no longer impressionable teenager I think I’ll be ok, and I read something recently about the importance of regular weighing.

would really love to see the scales dip under 70kg.

Ethiopianflower · 26/03/2025 10:18

Stayed the same this week at 10st 4. Happy with that . Hoping to lose 5 more pounds but it’s very very slow. Not a big deal if I don’t manage it - happy where I am. 24lbs down since new year

under60kgbyJuly · 26/03/2025 10:23

Still marking time here: maybe I should never have imagined I could lose given how life is in this chunk of time. Will fairly soon go on holiday for two weeks...if I can come back from that without having gained, I'll take it, and then attempt to gear up for a proper attempt at losing. See you then!
SW: 63.4kg
CW: 62.7kg
GW: 60.0kg

TerroristToddler · 26/03/2025 11:56

Exactly 1lb off this week for WOW.

SW (2 Jan) - 140lbs
CW - 129.2 lbs
GW - 125lbs

Have got exactly a month until I attend a wedding, and am hoping to be ~2lbs lighter by then ideally which will bring me within a couple of lbs of my target. Am due to go on holiday in 7 weeks and would be lovely to fit into some older summer clothes I've got stashed away...

As I get closer to target I am starting to think about maintenance. I put on weight very easily these days, so I think I'll have to stick to a kind of 4:3 diet - where twice a week I calorie count and stick to 1,200cals and then the rest of the time eat normally, but more mindfully than I was before!?

belnding · 26/03/2025 13:35

I’ve just calorie counted for the first time in a long time today- and yesterday came in at 1500. Which I think is really good!

there was an obvious place I could have cut out - which was eating nuts.

going to keep tracking and keeping around 1500 or below - not above, and see how that works out for me.

im my biggest ever at the moment- but really active- I do an exercise class every night after work- which is light years away from what I used to do. I’m sure age and menopause play a part- but I really want to slim down now. Can’t get on my size 14 jeans right now- but in my head I’m still size 10-12

Lem0nTang0 · 26/03/2025 13:45

Start weight 15.11 (22/07/24)
Current weight 13st 1
Loss this week 2lb
Total loss so far 38lb
Target 11st (68lbs to lose in total)

Still plodding on with my 1lb per week focus. Have been up and down the last week or two with hormones but eating mindfully with nothing off limits as long as i count it, walking, sticking to approx 1600 kcals and taking my time. Been at it for 36 weeks.

Keep thinking its taking a long time, but thats the way you keep it off, or so I have been told.

belnding · 26/03/2025 15:09

Just put my stats into my fitness pal and it recommended 1420 cals per day for me- sounds achievable! So will see how I get on!!

StealthyBMI · 26/03/2025 19:43

Forgot to weigh this morning so I'm logging yesterday's weigh in at 77.2, 0.5kg down from last Wednesday. No doubt up again today though after my uncontrollable chocolate cravings yesterday which resulted in the Christmas chocolate Santa coming out.... Much better today though so hopefully just a little blip....
