⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT!⭐️Fit & Fabulous February 2025⭐️

Let’s keep the momentum going in Move it More in March!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 2lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

I've just registered for the 7 day trial for Nutracheck. I agree it's so much better than Myfitnesspal. It's £34.50 for the year or £5.99 a month. I'm tempted to pay for it. I'm tracking protein aswell as calories starting from yesterday and I will have reached 60g both days. Which is what Myfitnesspal told me to aim for when I entered my starting weight on 1st March which is only 4 lbs more than I am now.

Hi @belnding, good luck on your weight loss journey.

StealthyBMI · 12/03/2025 14:36

@LighterSpring25 I have Nutracheck and paid for it in Jan when it was on sale (I think £27/year.) I think I've just PM'd you a link to get a 30 day free trial if you want it for longer! Anyone else want one just let me know. (I'm not getting anything back from them but apparently I might win a prize in a draw la la la....)
I like it but 2 months in I'm finding I can just estimate my calories now, plus less fussy about sticking to the 800 I was aiming for at the beginning. I like it for weight tracking though, and the web version has a good graph showing weight lost against your target line.

LighterSpring25 · 12/03/2025 14:40

@StealthyBMI Thank you so much. I hope you get a prize.

StealthyBMI · 12/03/2025 14:44

If I win a prize I promise to spend it all on cottage cheese and eggs.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 12/03/2025 15:52

It’s worth paying for @LighterSpring25 I’ve mentioned up thread that I too found it better than MFP.

i like the easier days feature too - it gives me more of a cushion at the weekend but cutting my allowance during the week. Over time, I’ve saved loads of the meals we regularly have (also helps with meal planning as a handy reminder!).

Yes, it was you who inspired me to take a look so thank you.

Hey all,
Still slow as a 🐢, but going in the right direction. Have had an up & down week, but still staying mindful. I missed 3 days walking due to renovations & I missed it so much- it's become a habit & I'm glad of that.

SW (1st Jan) 14st 2 lbs
CW 13st 4lbs
TW 11st 7lbs (to start with)

Well done for all the losses & welcome to lovely, new peeps. Spring has sprung! 🌼 🐑

happytobemrsg · 12/03/2025 22:43

After dramatically falling off the wagon after several colds, I’m back! Reluctantly stepped on the scales this morning & pleasantly surprised.

SW: 10st 1.8lb (end July)
GW: 9st 2lb
CW: 9st 2lb!!!

Now this is dangerous territory! I feel like maintaining a weight can sometimes be harder than working towards a goal (they say the worst half time talk you can give is “keep doing what you’re doing”).

My aim now is to:

Eat more healthily. More fruit & veg. Less UPF. Might give up crisps again as I seem to have no will power & can’t just eat one bag. My hair has thinned after having DS9.5m & I’ve started getting spots (I never get spots) so I’ve booked a blood test to check if I’m deficient in anything before I go gun ho with all the supplements. I’m spending a lot of time & effort ensuring weaning DS is getting only fresh, healthy food & I should show myself the same consideration I think.

In a similar vein to the above, I want to be kinder to myself & look after my body & mind. I’ve booked some yin yoga classes & I intend to get back into the home gym (we have a new machine & DH is currently figuring out how to use it). I’d like to tone up & a regular gym routine stops me reaching for the naughty food quite so often.

I hope everyone is doing well & I’m going to read through everything I’ve missed 😬

AnonymousMum37 · 13/03/2025 07:30

I've slipped a bit this week, we have builders in and I'm stressed and keep reaching for sweet things and share a bottle of wine with DH last night as both stressed.
I was down to 160.4 on Monday but this morning says 162.6 😔
.

socks1107 · 13/03/2025 08:00

My weight has gone up every single day this week. I’m in a deficit and not cheating so I’m beyond frustrated as now I won’t reach a goal for an event in ten days.

StealthyBMI · 13/03/2025 09:10

@socks1107 if you're in deficit every day then you will see a drop soon. I've been on the same sort of plateaus a number of times since I started and what always happens is my weight stays the same, wobbles, goes up slightly....then suddenly a massive drop overnight. So yesterday I weighed in at 78.4 and today the scales jumped down to 77.9. I had a good day yesterday but certainly didn't exercise/diet half a kg off in a day. No doubt the same will happen to you - keep the faith! I didn't realise until I started weighing regularly how much water affects the number on the scale.

TheRealHousewife · 13/03/2025 11:14

Good Morning

I’ve caught another cold/flu virus … I have had more infections this past 12 months than at any other time. I think I’m over the worst but still have tight chest and coughing.

I did WOW yesterday to find my weekend away gone but another 1lb.

I hope to be more present next week … ❤️

Any tips for stress? I'm having a very stressful week and my weight has gone up. Is it cortisol? or food choices? I've been keeping within my calories but the quality has gone downhill, including half a bottle of wine yesterday.

I don't want to derail my progress as that'll only cause more stress!

Thank you.

@AnonymousMum37getting outside for a good brisk walk for at least half an hour works wonders for me especially if it’s near water or the woods/trees. Even better if there’s a good view. Is that something you could do? Or blasting out music and dancing and singing along.

I’m stuck too and feel rubbish today. I’m so tired and feel queasy. I’ve got a loaf of bread rising and oatmeal cookies baking to make a healthier snack plus much needed fibre. I have endometriosis pain which explains the queasiness and I just want to sleep. Once these cookies have finished I’m going to go lie down with a hot water bottle.

let’s keep plodding on. We’ll get there eventually.

Thank you, I usually run out in nature but had to manage with a quick run around the blocks near my house today so I wonder if that's had an impact. I'll try and get out in nature later. First I have flat pack furniture to build... 🤦🏼‍♀️
I'm sorry you're in pain today and feeling rubbish, definitely make a hot water bottle and curl up. Maybe watch something comforting on TV?

FairyBloodyMary · 13/03/2025 12:23

Oooh flat pack furniture! Lego is much more fun but less useful. I’ve just put the Tuckers on to see if it’s funny.

StealthyBMI · 13/03/2025 15:01

Feel better soon @TheRealHousewife I sympathise, this has been my most poorly winter too. I wonder if our covid vaccines have worn off and we're all just getting covid back to back without knowing. Also best wishes to @FairyBloodyMary and @AnonymousMum37 I hope you both feel better soon.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/03/2025 15:52

I’ve not been able to get out for lunchtime walks this week, and it’s definitely affecting my mood and energy levels. I feel sluggish and reached for a chocolate biscuit last night.

But after a disappointing WOW, I was down half a poind today 🤷‍♀️ Will keep plodding on…

Sympathies for all with colds and viruses. Same in our house, although I feel mostly fine just now, I’ve been a bit congested for around a month and keep getting a random (very) runny nose.

AnonymousMum37 · 14/03/2025 17:47

How do people manage other people's comments and expectations around eating?

Today I got in from a run and my husband had made me a bacon and egg sandwich. Which was lovely, but I was going out for lunch with a friend so I really wanted something light to save calories but he was offended when I said I hadn't planned a big breakfast so I had to eat it.

Then, out for lunch I tried to pick something light (not ridiculously, a smashed avocado brunch dish about 600 calories) and my friend made comments about me "ruining the fun" and said she couldn't get what she wanted if I ate healthily and badgered me into getting tapas to share. So I had that and tried not to have too much but she kept commenting and putting more on my plate and saying I would make her over eat of I didn't have "my share".

Now it's evening and husband opened a cider and went to pour me some and I said no thanks, I haven't got the calories and he got super frustrated and said "fine then I can't either, it'll go to waste, I'll pour it away". I ended up having a glass because it was easier. We're already having burger and chips because kids "have to have chips" on a Friday. I've made sweet potato wedges for me and DH to try and make it a bit healthier. But arghh.

I just feel like everyone is annoyed at me and sees it as my judging them if I try to be healthy. Everyone seems so relieved on days when I slip and eat/drink too much. Does anyone else have this? How do you deal with it?

Ethiopianflower · 14/03/2025 19:33

@AnonymousMum37 I have to say that I would find that head Wrecking. You are doing your absolute best and it’s been taken out of your control. The way I deal with it is I say to myself if I am on plan most of the time so it’s grand. I find it hardest with friends - who i don’t want to insult. My husband knows not to give me anything off plan. If you are eating healthy the majority of the time it will all work out. Also unfortunately this journey is a marathon and not a sprint so we have to live a little too without guilt - easier said than done

Skyglimmer · 15/03/2025 07:03

Weigh in day for me today and lost 0.9kg (I'm weighing in every two weeks now) getting close to goal way but feel I look a long way off. I hate holding all my weight in my stomach.

TealSloth · 15/03/2025 08:19

Morning everyone. Hope you all are well. Because of my fasting am not counting my calories. But I am watching what I eat not long it's my 14 fast another 16 days to go then back on to it. I have gained half stone but it will come off. Am not worried.

Fellsbells · 15/03/2025 08:56

Hormones sent me AWOL for a few days, but this weekend has lots of healthy options to choose from.

belnding · 16/03/2025 09:40

Sorry to hear that @AnonymousMum37
i definitely find it hard in social situations, as it does feel like I’m ‘ruining the fun’. But at the same time I usually eat much more than everyone else anyway, so surely cutting back a bit isn’t too bad.

re your DH, could you really clearly communicate your eating plan for the whole week with him?

then he’ll get his grumpiness out in one go, but will probably let you get on with it for the rest of the week- and may even start supporting you with it?

My DP is the healthiest eater I’ve ever met- and even I find it hard to slim down, so I know how hard it must be.

at least you’ve got this group to support you!

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 16/03/2025 16:59

I’m happy because I braved weighing myself and I’m still in the 9st 7lb zone yay! 9 7.75 I think so that’s good, no max gains from my more relaxed weeks - calorie counting has gone well this past week, and I’m feeling positive going into next week 😊😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
