⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT!⭐️Fit & Fabulous February 2025⭐️

Let’s keep the momentum going in Move it More in March!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 2lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

I appear to be 2lbs heavier than last Wednesday. I’m hoping there’s water retention at play, I’d be really disappointed after being pretty good this month so far if I actually put weight on tomorrow.

Trying to have more water today and minimal calories!

Welcome to the thread @Magnolia82 - as you’ve probably seen, we are a supportive bunch and all have our own diverse weight-loss goals. Although it sounds as if we are at a pretty similar stage from what you’ve said.

You asked whether I follow any particular diet and the answer is not really. I just try and eat sensibly, lots of veg, not too much UPF, and keep an eye on sweet treats. That’s the aim, but it can go wrong, usually due to potatoes and puddings!

I’ve been on these threads on and off for 2 years now, and dropped from 128 lbs then to just under 120 lbs today, so I’m a slow loser - which is fine. Last summer I got down to 114 lbs but then went on holiday, took my eye off the ball and didn’t really rein myself in until after Christmas, so I need to think of how I’m going to manage maintenance once I do get back down to those numbers again.

Are you following any particular way of eating? As you have a similar goal to me, does that mean you are fairly short too (I’m just under 5 foot)?

Thank you to everyone who welcomed me to the thread last week. It's helpful to know that I am welcome (after definitely not being welcomed on some other weight loss threads!).

It sounds like you are all really supportive to each other - well done for the progress lots of you are making.

@NothingTraLaLa Thank you for your reply. Well done for your progress. Yes, I'm also short. It sounds like I eat in quite a similar way to you. I'm struggling as I can't seem to lose these few pounds. I am aware I'm officially a 'healthy' weight but I'm definitely too heavy for me. I keep getting confused about how low to go on calories - I want this to be sustainable, but all online calorie calculators tell me my calories need to be really low, due to being short.

I'm open to any ideas from anyone if anyone can relate to being short/not much weight to lose and has been/is being successful? (Also open to ideas from anyone who can't relate but has any thoughts or suggestions.)

LighterSpring25 · 11/03/2025 11:11

@Magnolia82 that is awful that you didn't feel welcome on other threads.

I don't think it matters how much you want to lose or if you are just maintaining here.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 11/03/2025 13:21

@LBB2020 hopefully we can both get back on track 😊💪💪 before the inundation of Easter eggs begins as well 😂😂🙈🙈🙈

socks1107 · 11/03/2025 13:39

I'm also a touch heavier today but have noticed I always am on a Tuesday and I'm 2lbs lighter than last Tuesday so hoping tmrw is a good wow.

There were pastries at a meeting today, and I had one! First time since Xmas and it was sooooo nice 😊

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 11/03/2025 14:07

@Magnolia82 have you tried nutracheck? It’s a paid for app, but you can get a free trial. Put in your weight, height etc. and how much you want to lose. I found it to be better at working out a recommended calorie goal for me. I have lost maybe 3 stone in total over a looooooong period, but when I have had sustained periods of loss it has been calorie counting that works for me. I find nutracheck easier to use and a bit more accurate - lots of uk products and not so heavy on user generated content like you get in MFP. It’s really helped me think about what a sensible portion size is and opened my eyes to how much protein and fibre I was (or wasn’t) consuming. I find slow and steady is the most sustainable way to lose for me. I try to focus on eat less (but better) and move more. Still have treats, wine etc.

I’ve been off the boil in recent months for various reasons, but I didn’t pile on the pounds, I think because my body has learned what’s enough of a portion size for me.

Just been out for a 15 minute lunchtime power walk to get some steps in and loosen off the legs after yesterday’s strength class.

Today’s menu

B - boiled egg & toast
L - homemade tomato and lentil soup, falafel, humous, quavers, apple
D - Thai spiced fish with noodles

no snacks so far, I’m doing a good job of resisting cakes in the office.

exercise - planning a bodycombat class tonight, which will hopefully help the scales tomorrow!

SprinkleOfSunak · 11/03/2025 14:48

Hi all, I wasn’t part of the February group and have only just noticed this one for March.

I started following more sensible eating habits at the beginning of January and weighed 16 stone 7 pounds and as of Monday I am now 15 stone exactly! I’ve always been one to weigh on a Monday.

The goal I’m working on currently is to lose another 1 and a half stone in time for the last week in May when I go to a concert, and also to start going back to the gym once a week at first to help this. I have always walked a lot, but last week I walked to work twice and home once, so this was an additional 1.5 hours of walking at a fairly brisk pace.

My overall goal is to get my weight down to at least 12 stone by October, but I’m ideally hoping I can get down to around 11 stone by then.

I’ve been eating mainly Japanese food, have decreased portions, have stopped eating cakes, biscuits and crisps (except for a small bowlful here and there) have reduced sugar in hot drinks by half, have decreased my carbohydrate intake by half and I’m eating more vegetables, and have reduced my alcohol consumption, drinking only 1 bottle of wine per week or a couple of beers.

TerroristToddler · 11/03/2025 16:48

Eugh have been on and off the scales all week and so far I haven't seen a single oz of movement! Am hoping the weight-loss gods and goddesses are looking down on me tomorrow when I step on for WOW!

I've been logging all my food, but did eat out once this week so I guess not totally unexpected that I haven't shifted anything. Bit annoying though.....hmmpf

TerroristToddler · 11/03/2025 16:49

@SprinkleOfSunak Wow, you've done fantastically since January!! You should be really proud of yourself :-)

SprinkleOfSunak · 11/03/2025 17:11

@TerroristToddler

Thank you so much, that’s so kind of you to say!

StealthyBMI · 11/03/2025 19:25

Evening all... I've been quiet. Last week was all birthday cake and wine and pub lunches, combined with still feeling under the weather so no gym for me. Still managing a lot of walking but I've felt so run down I've been less committed to eating healthily. Dreading WOW tomorrow but I'll do it and try to regain my focus. The cake is all eaten now and no wine open! Going away for a few days in the sun in April so that's my new focus. See you tomorrow hopefully with a good, or not too dire, update...

Ethiopianflower · 11/03/2025 22:11

we have this. Just got to keep plodding on. I had a shocking week last week where I was like the Cookie Monster eating and drinking all round me. This week much better. Welcome to our thread @Magnolia82 all good vibes here - has been a fantastic help to me. Down 22lbs since new year’s and these monthly threads have kept me so motivated and feeling I’m not the only one on this journey

LighterSpring25 · 12/03/2025 07:24

I've just weighed. I'm 10 st 6.6 which means I'm down 1.2 lb from last Wednesday.

It's coming off but very slowly.

goldendragonbiscuit · 12/03/2025 07:56

A few weeks since I've posted, I've been maintaining due to lots of social things going on and work stress which meant not getting into a big enough deficit, but finally got a loss this week down to 68.3kg last weigh in was 68.8kg

Sw: 73kg
Cw: 68.3kg
Gw: 60-58kg

under60kgbyJuly · 12/03/2025 08:08

Still noodling around the same area here, though actually if I squint at the three month chart it is trending ever so gently downwards; today's weight is the highest for a few days. Reason is that yesterday I was at a work meeting where boxed, named lunches were provided and it would have been rude not to take mine (ETA and I wanted it...I wouldn't ever eat just to avoid being rude, those days are past)... I brought it home and had it instead of supper, not as well, but even so, it was much more carbs than I would normally eat so now I suppose I have a bunch of water onboard too. Still it was tasty, and free :-)

SW: 63.4kg
CW: 62.6kg
GW: 60.0kg

IDareSay · 12/03/2025 08:17

SW: 72.5 kg beginning January (I was as high as 74.9kg last year!)
GW1: 70 kg end January (achieved and reset to 69kg)
CW: 67.7kg (4.8 kg lost) 12th March
GW2: 65 kg 26th March (in time for weekend away)

100g loss, every little bit counts but goodness this is like pushing water uphill at the moment. Again I have been down to 67.4kg but it just isn't sticking there.
I am keeping up the walking 30 minutes a day minimum and generally moving more as it was a good weekend for being in the garden.

A now near impossible 2.7kg loss needed in 2 weeks to meet my end of March target of 65kg, even getting into the 65's seems unachievable, but frankly anywhere in the 66's will be a relief as it will mean I am off this plateau.

Putting my head down and digging in for a strict 2 weeks ahead. All meals are planned as there is a lot of meat and fish in the freezer, so I just need to stick to my guns!

ForestDragon · 12/03/2025 08:22

Welcome @Magnolia82 - this really is a lovely thread, I think it helps that we're all doing it our own way! So great advice and tips but always as suggestions, not dictating the "right" way. It's really helping me to stick to it.

So WoW for me too:
SW 94 kg (1/1/25)
CW 87.8 kg (am so happy to see that 7)
GW 70 kg

0.6kg off since last WoW which is pretty much what I'm aiming for! And I'm 10kg exactly off a healthy BMI which now feels so much more achievable! Goal weight beyond that is subject to change, but I do want to dip a bit under the 24.9 BMI at least. Might end up being more like 75kg but I'm going to leave it for now.

Good luck to all weighing in today!

TerroristToddler · 12/03/2025 09:14

As expected, WOW was exactly the same as last week (scale literally hasn't budged at all this week each time I've sneakily weighed). So its a maintain/stayed the same for me this week.

SW - 140lbs
CW - 131.2 lbs
GW - 125lbs

Going to add in some extra Peloton rides and runs this week to see if I can nudge those scales a bit!

socks1107 · 12/03/2025 09:39

1 1/2 lbs off this week for me.
I had a goal for in two weeks time that I'm not going to make, I'll be out by a few pounds so trying not to be too disheartened and remember that what I've lost so far is great.
But the urge to binge is there today!!

Ethiopianflower · 12/03/2025 09:41

3.5lbs down this week which I am delighted with as I had no loss the past 3 weeks.
SW: 12st
CW: 10st 6.5lbs
GW: 10st
i watched and saved this great short video by a weight loss coach about how the scales go flying up and down for us ladies and not to get too stressed and trust the process. Helped me when things weren’t shifting, but ridiculous that I still get a buzz when they do.

alluphill · 12/03/2025 10:18

SW 11ST 2.5LBS
CW 10ST 12LBS
GW 10ST

loss of 3.25lbs since Saturday. Presume alot of that is water weight but delighted I'm heading in the right direction. Started weight training once a week.. Hope to increase that once my body allows. And walking every day at least 5km. Much better with my diet this week too. Can't wait to see under 10 10 as have been stuck near 11st for well over a year now. Going to continue weighing wed and sat every week as think it will help stop me slacking off midway through the week.

NothingTraLaLa · 12/03/2025 10:19

Morning all!

A loss since last Wednesday, but the same as I weighed last Friday. Happy with this.

SW 122.6 lbs
CW 119.8 lbs
TW 112 lbs

StealthyBMI · 12/03/2025 11:45

I'm also pleased to report a loss! Down to 78.4 which is 0.6kg less than a fortnight ago, I'll take that as my weight was wobbling all over and with the amount of cake I ate, I'm happy to lose anything. Back to daily weighing now for a bit. Just warming up my soup for lunch...

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 12/03/2025 13:09

Disappointing 1 1/2 pound gain this week. So annoying, given I’ve been really on it with the calorie tracking and have done lots of exercise. Hoping it’s water retention and maybe I’ll have a whoosh next week. Will stay focused, it’s a marathon, not a sprint etc.

congratulation for all the losses!

belnding · 12/03/2025 13:37

I'd like to join this thread- it sounds right up my street.

I'm currently 75kg, up from 72kg in June when I thought I was at my peak.
Having a weekly weigh in on Wednesdays sounds great- and a good way to stay accountable.

The diet I'm following is:

  • no UPF
  • no snacking
  • no eating after dinner

To be fair I've followed that for about 9 months with no improvement. The big change I'm slowly implementing in March is:

  • small dinner in the evening

And I'm considering calorie counting soon.

I'd like to get below 70kg as a minimum, and to around 65kg or below.

Moving more is going well- I run 3 times a week. It will be reducing the quantity I eat which will be difficult.

Good luck to everyone!
