⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT!⭐️Fit & Fabulous February 2025⭐️

Let’s keep the momentum going in Move it More in March!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 2lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Morning all. Belated check in from me as it was my birthday this week (which has been my motivation for losing weight).... I've weighed a few times and just wobbling up and down the same weight so no real change from last week. WOW last week was good but by Thursday for no real reason I'd jumped up half a kg so I'm discounting last Wed as a scale blip! Whenever I drink my weight shoots up for a few days then drops a pound or so a few days later so I've learnt to see that as water retention. Foodwise I've enjoyed some wine and cake this week and celebrating again this weekend, but overall I am so pleased with my progress since 1st Jan to get to where I am now, that I'm happy to let myself have a few days off and know I'll be back on it from Sunday.

Annoyingly though I am ill AGAIN! For 11 days now too, I think I've got a sinus infection and I lost my sense of smell earlier this week - maybe it's covid. I wondered if my low calorie diet is contributing to a low immune system as this is my third bout of illness since Christmas.
Happy belated bday to @TheRealHousewife my fellow Piscean!
This sunshine is certainly helping, I just wish my cold would go so I can really enjoy the fresh air and not feel so groggy all the time. Currently sitting at my desk with my diffuser pumping out Olbus oil!

LighterSpring25 · 07/03/2025 09:56

I'm tired and achy today. Weather is not so good here so I'm not walking at lunch. I've got a tuna and boiled egg salad to eat at my desk (not open plan office).

The weather looks better tomorrow here so I'm going to do a long dog walk in the morning. I'm also not going to think Oh, it's the weekend so I can chill out with the diet. It's only 10 weeks to our holiday. We have a party to go to on the 29th March and I'd love to lose 7lbs for then.

Happy Friday!

NothingTraLaLa · 07/03/2025 12:54

Welcome to the thread @Magnolia82 - as you’ve probably seen, we are a supportive bunch and all have our own diverse weight-loss goals. Although it sounds as if we are at a pretty similar stage from what you’ve said.

You asked whether I follow any particular diet and the answer is not really. I just try and eat sensibly, lots of veg, not too much UPF, and keep an eye on sweet treats. That’s the aim, but it can go wrong, usually due to potatoes and puddings!

I’ve been on these threads on and off for 2 years now, and dropped from 128 lbs then to just under 120 lbs today, so I’m a slow loser - which is fine. Last summer I got down to 114 lbs but then went on holiday, took my eye off the ball and didn’t really rein myself in until after Christmas, so I need to think of how I’m going to manage maintenance once I do get back down to those numbers again.

Are you following any particular way of eating? As you have a similar goal to me, does that mean you are fairly short too (I’m just under 5 foot)?

Friartruckster · 07/03/2025 16:07

This strikes as a very diverse and supportive thread. Would appreciate being able share the journey to better health with you all.

I need to lose 14lbs to move into the upper end of a healthy BMI but it’s proving to be a bumpy ride.

So going forward I’m setting myself the simple but challenging task for March of no snacking in the evening. That’s when my mindset goes haywire and I become a crazy emotional eater. I can easily consume 600 calories of nonsense.

Look forward to reading your posts with a keen eye on the alternatives people have when dealing with cravings. For me eating an alternative just escalates the problem. I need to find a way to ride the wave of the craving. 🌷

AnonymousMum37 · 07/03/2025 17:06

We've been away to London overnight to see a show, and I had a burger and chips last night and some cocktails, and a hotel breakfast this morning, but also walked 50,000 steps across the 2 days so I am hoping it evens out! 😅

Puffalicious · 07/03/2025 20:17

Hey all,

Birthday wishes abound for a few🥳.

Still plugging away here. 1lb off this week- slow progress, but keeping on. Everyday walking is definitely helping fucus.

Had a hungry day yesterday & today (mid way through bathroom renovations & I think I'm tired!), so feeling annoyed with myself.

SW 14st 2
CW 13st 5
TW 11st 7 (to start).

socks1107 · 07/03/2025 20:20

I had a great nsv today, a colleague pulled me aside to mention how great I looked and the weight I'd lost. Really nice and boosted my motivation and mood! Thank m wearing a dress I've had a while and suddenly noticed today my huge shelf bum has disappeared Grin.
Happy weekend everyone

FairyBloodyMary · 08/03/2025 09:21

A loss of 0.3kg today. I'm going to bake some bread today along with some breakfast muffins.

@TheRealHousewife please would you post your chia cracker recipe again? I never got round to making them.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 08/03/2025 12:25

afternoon all. I totally blew my calories yesterday at a posh black tie dinner, but I’m ok with that, and it hasn’t spurred me on to blow the weekend! Though I am a little hungover and in need of chocolate…

Lovely day here, but a sluggish start for me after my late night. I’m north of the border so not quite the temperatures being enjoyed elsewhere, though I might put a wash on the line later.

I’m going to be a little lazy today and watch the rugby from my sofa, but a walk and some gardening chores planned for tomorrow which should set me up for an active week!

Puffalicious · 08/03/2025 13:43

A great NSV socks. Laughing at 'shelf bum' 😄, I know what you mean!

WhatWTDD I'm North of the border too & it's 17 degrees! I cannot believe it! I've just put a washing on the line- it's amazing (I've put a 2nd in, but that maybe too ambitious).

I'm grouting the bathroom - tedious, thankless task 🙄.

socks1107 · 08/03/2025 14:24

It's gorgeous here! I've cleaned everywhere and will get ready soon for a pub afternoon. I always allow for wine on a Saturday and never feel guilty. It's part of my weekends so I've accommodated for it in my diet

You’ve prompted me to check the weather app and apparently it’s 15 outside here - I’m going to get a wash out! Might have to drag myself away from the rugby and get outside for a bit!

alluphill · 08/03/2025 19:49

SW 11st 2.5lbs
CW 11st 1.25 lbs
GW 10st

Started strength training this week and currently can barely move 😅 but hoping to keep up with that and get more walks in too. Bit of a loss so happy with that. Slow and steady.

Ethiopianflower · 09/03/2025 11:11

@socks1107 you are motivating me to start my spring clean - badly needed. My DS hasn’t been well for nearly a month and a half now so the house has gone to pot.

I have plateaued for the past 3 weeks and stood on the scales this morning and…..whoosh……I have lost 3lbs. That’s a stone and a half down for me since new years. I’m beyond thrilled and it has done so much for my overall wellbeing.

SW: 12st
CW: 10st 7
GW: 10st

FairyBloodyMary · 09/03/2025 11:59

I had a great cleaning and clearing day yesterday too and feel much better for it. I still need to finish the kitchen but the dining area is completed and the food prep area. I'm sat in the garden eating my breakfast which is a toasted muffin from the batch I made yesterday.. it's so good to feel the sun on my skin.
I was down to 56.4kg this morning from 57.5kg on Thursday so I'm very happy with that.
I hope everyone has a lovely day.

PenniesButton · 09/03/2025 19:23

Made it down 3lbs to 19.5stone today. My lowest, I'm back in the game!

Have eaten like a pig today but a very happy one as usual on a Sunday, and just be really mindful Mon-Sat.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 10/03/2025 08:24

I had a much more active Sunday. Cleaned the car, did some gardening, and got out for a walk. At a more gentle pace than I would have liked as was with a friend who has a few health issues, but it was a walk in the sunshine nonetheless! Possibly shouldn’t have had the pint of lager and shared some chips afterwards, but it was a good day overall.

Lem0nTang0 · 10/03/2025 10:55

Good morning all, what a lovely weekendit was here. Looked back on weigh ins on MyFitnessPal, realised I am now the lightest weight since Summer 2019.
Looking at the ups and small downs put it all into perspective. Now I need to maintain the loss still aiming for 1lb per week overall and am on week 36 of my journey.

Continuing to calorie count, have cut out crisps for lent and am brisk walking minimum of 30 mins per day. Must drink more water this week. Would like to see a 12 at the start of my weight by Easter, birthday and holiday around the same time so mini goal is to be under 13st by end of April.

Start weight 15.11 (22/07/24)
Current weight 13st 3
Loss this week 2lb
Total loss so far 36lb
Target 11st (68lbs to lose in total)

LighterSpring25 · 10/03/2025 12:24

I really enjoyed the weekend. Two big walks with the dog.

I've weighed today and I'm 1lb down so hoping by Wednesday I've dropped another.

I'm not sure what to eat today. I think I might pick up some wholemeal bread on my walk home at lunch and make a tuna salad sandwich.

TealSloth · 10/03/2025 15:33

Recently I've not posted for a long time in March. I am on my fasting. Hopefully when I have finished my fasting. Il able to get back onto counting my calories. Just need to finish my next 21 days but I am being mindful what I am having in the evening.
It's hard to see my weight creep back up again but il be back onto it. Hope you all are doing well.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 10/03/2025 18:44

I’m pleased (well as pleased that I can be) to restart strength training today. Fairly light on the weights, but it will take time to build up again. Still a tough and bit sweaty workout!

Today’s menu is:

B - boiled egg & toast
L - minestrone soup, slice of bread, apple, quavers
D - halloumi, potato, broccoli, cauliflower, pomegranate seed tray bake.

Not as much fibre as I’d like, but can have a pear after dinner which will help.

FairyBloodyMary · 10/03/2025 19:35

Evening all. It's been a beautiful day here and I've mowed my mum's lawns for the first time this year. It felt great to be working outside again. The warmer months are where most days I'm working for her are spent gardening which I love. It's good exercise too plus I don't tend to think about food until I'm ravenous.
Food has been ok today:
Breakfast: toasted homemade muffin and tea
Snack: tea and 4 butter biscuits from M&S
Lunch: hummus and breadsticks
Dinner: weird selection of 5 cheddars, a mini banybel, Greek yogurt and berries with honey and a hot chocolate. I'm on over 26,000 steps which is great.

The scales are moving downwards and going their slow and steady thing so I'm happy that. I'm aiming back to my maintenance of between 54 and 55kg but toned or at least more toned for summer so that I feel confident in summer clothes. I'm moisturising my body regularly now in anticipation of baring skin. Not much skin but still.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 11/03/2025 07:33

Hello all - I'm rejoining after a long absence! I lost motivation in February and stopped calorie counting for almost two weeks - I just felt like I needed to have a break! I don't think I went toooooo wild but carbs and chocolate were involved 😂🙈 and I haven't dared step back on the scales yet, going to just make sure I'm back into calorie counting again and get a couple of weeks of that going first. It just is the only way for me to lose weight but I just find it so tedious! But when I don't do it more snacks and bigger portions definitely creep in. Hoping to stick to it, get to my goal weight then I need to think about how to maintain without counting because I can't do it forever!

LBB2020 · 11/03/2025 07:57

Morning all
@HappyLittleTreeFriend I'm exactly the same! Fallen off the wagon the past couple of weeks and avoided the scales! Pretty annoyed with myself but trying to get my head back in the game this week then brave the scales!
Hope everyone is doing well

Well, ignore my last post. I've now put 2lb on. I think it's because I went out Sunday and had quite a lot of wine.

I'm going to have to start logging my calories on My Fitness Pal as that is how I lost weight last time.

I bought some Greek yogurt, chia seeds and strawberries. I'm going to look for some Greek yogurt bowl ideas today.
