January 2025! Following on from LOSE IT! December 2024

Fresh Start, New Habits! To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 5lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Hi everyone 👋 I’m joining too. I could really do with the motivation, accountability and company 🤗. Started my diet on the 27th dec and have lost 0.8kg so far. Trying very hard to not become obsessive with scales but otherwise feeling quite positive. Good luck to you all 🤗🤗

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 31/12/2024 17:55

Joining! I did well last year with a Dry Jan boost and did some stints of calorie counting, I also have stuck to a daily yoga habit with very few days missed for the whole of 2024 - so for 2025 I want to lose the final half stone I want to lose and I want to stick to my yoga but start incorporating some kettlebell exercise at least once a week too 😊 intending to do Dry Jan this year too and start off with calorie counting as well, I have definitely been snacking and eating more stodge over December so dreading the first weigh in as well but determined to get to my goal weight in the first half of 2025!

TerroristToddler · 31/12/2024 17:58

Marking my place! Will be starting my health journey on 2nd Jan (an away for NY so 1st will be my last day enjoying pub roasts and pud!).

No idea what my plan for weight loss is. Done them all before. Calorie counting does work, but I find it soul destroying. Might try keto??

Someone asked up thread about HRT. I have found it has helped with weight loss by reducing tiredness and improving my mood.

I think that you're right that I'm less tired, but I definitely think my appetite has increased.

LegoTherapy · 31/12/2024 19:06

I can't say that HRT has affected my weight in any way. I have oestrogen gel, vagifem and take the progesterone vaginally. I've found half the prescribed dose has done the trick. I take it every other day but sometimes forget.

Goodafternoonmillie · 31/12/2024 19:28

I saw this on a fb group, going to print it tomorrow and colour in each square when I complete a workout/some form of movement.

Also I usually weigh daily but think I am going to switch to just WOW-ing to not be so obsessive 🤔

I’d love to join but will start Monday 6th as still very much in Christmas/holiday mode here!
I really want 2025 to be the year I finally feel comfortable in my own skin! I’d like to lose 1stone at least and get back into a regular exercise routine.
I’m not entirely sure what my plan is, most likely intermittent fasting/16:8 which worked well for me after having my first DS. Going to do dry Jan from 6th as well

PatienceOfEngels · 31/12/2024 23:06

Happy New Year everyone! (I'm in Europe so clock just ticked over and all I can hear is fireworks right now!)
🎉

Can I join you all?
Lost 40 lbs in 2024, have another 20-28 to go. I tend to do OMAD, and do a lot of power yoga nowadays which definitely helps! Focus for January is water and walking. Tempted to get a walking pad for next to my bed as the weather here is so wet and windy this winter - does anyone have one?

I have a walking pad though I really don’t use it much as I prefer to get my steps in outside.

LemonDrizzle23 · 01/01/2025 07:12

Happy New Year! I'll join, need to lose a little after the over eating trying to get through the day with 2 littles.

I'll try not to snack on their leftovers and eat more protein.

Andtheworldwentwhite · 01/01/2025 08:11

First weigh in this morning. Only a pound on over Xmas.
so starting my weight this year at 9st 10 pounds. My goal weight is 8stone 11.

for those wondering I started my weight loss journey over a year ago. And I started at 13 stone 1.

WeAreTheThirteen · 01/01/2025 08:56

Weighed this morning. 11st 9 so an increase of 7 lbs during December. Not starting seriously until tomorrow as have a big dinner planned for tonight but I am starting Dry January fron today.

FiveShelties · 01/01/2025 09:14

I would love to join too please. I weighed in this morning at 10st 4.2 pounds. I keep getting to 9st 12lbs and then go back up again.

I want to be under 10 stone permanently and intend to calorie count with a limit of 1400, drink more water, less wine and 11,000 steps per day.

I am in NZ, so have almost finished my first day which has gone well. 364 to go now. Happy New Year everyone 😁

cloudengel · 01/01/2025 10:06

Happy New Year everyone! I hope it's OK to join in.
I had my 3rd child in August, and after weighing myself this morning, I'm at the heaviest I've ever been. 88.5kg.

I'd like to get down to about 60kg, but realise that might take me a while. I'm currently breastfeeding, so am focusing on getting more active - pregnancy and csection recovery means I haven't been able to walk as much as I'd like - and eating more healthily, starting with eating a portion of fruit or veg before every meal.

OneDayIWillLearn · 01/01/2025 10:07

Decided to bite the bullet and WoW this morning, and it came out 12 stone 4 3/4lbs, which is a pound and a half up on pre Christmas.

Happy with that! I’m hoping that means seeing an 11 stone something on the scales might be realistic for January.

You definitely can see an eleven by the end of Jan. 💪🏻

Goodafternoonmillie · 01/01/2025 10:51

My reaction at my weigh in this morning:
Oh my Christ!! 😱🤣

10 st 8.6 lbs
goal weight: 9 st 0

40 min walking workout completed ✔️
aiming for 1400-1500 calories per day and trying to really focus on it all being good healthy food!

@Andtheworldwentwhite you have done amazing!! My start weight was 13 stone but that was ahem 3 years ago !!

TinDogTavern · 01/01/2025 10:55

I'm in! Lost half a stone at end of last year but have regained half of that over Christmas. Need to lose four stone, but will be happy if I lose three.

LegoTherapy · 01/01/2025 10:56

Happy new year to you all! This is the year we achieve!

Was brave and weighed for a WOW of 53.8kg 8st 6.6lb. I missed a lot of meals just before Christmas due to being busy so my pre-Christmas weight wasn't going to last. Also the lack of my usual walking over the last ten days and I'm back into the 53s. I thought it would be more but 2lbs is not something I'm going to worry about. I'll be back to routine on Monday and until then I'll continue to enjoy the holidays.

My goal is to maintain and fit into my jeans without any bulges. Also to eat more healthily.

LegoTherapy · 01/01/2025 11:02

My start weight was about 68.8kg in September 2022 and it's thanks to these threads that I exceeded my initial goal of 9st 3lb and have remained pretty stable within 2kg of 55kg. My way of eating has changed. The amount I can eat has changed. No more eating large amounts late at night. Share packs of chocolate whilst reading in bed or watching tv are no longer a thing. Eating a full pizza to myself is no longer something I can easily achieve. I eat more protein and not much in the way of ultra processed food although Christmas has changed the UPF intake. I've come a long way and if I can do it's can anyone else. You've got this 😊

Showmethefood · 01/01/2025 12:25

Weighed in this morning and have lost 2.4lbs since starting diet on the 27th. Happy with that and hope I can keep up a loss of around 2lbs each week! 😊
