Following on from the LOSE IT! May thread

May came and went in a flash😮. The arrival of June provides the opportunity to embrace a fresh new start & start new habits. If you’re a returner or a new starter feel free to jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost nearly 4 stones. After having been on the wrong side of 12st I am now maintaining around 8st 12lb. I find this weight is sustainable and easy to maintain. If I can do it anyone can 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes.

Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife

I struggled a bit in April and May; here’s to a more successful June!

My starting weight for the new month is 116.8lbs.

TheRealHousewife · 31/05/2024 16:28

@NothingTraLaLa Ive found in my experience weight loss/healthy eating is a way of life and not so much a destination. If your overall trajectory is downwards it’s all good. The main thing to remember is life is for living and that sometimes means get togethers and delicious foods; these are just as nourishing for the soul as a healthy diet is for the body. Balance is the key ❤️

I'm absolutely off plan it being half term and just not done nearly enough movement either. Have a birthday celebration in June, and Fathers Day meal, then 2 birthdays and wedding anniversary in July!

But here and continuing to track my plant food variety and still on a mostly downward weight, albeit very slowly.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 31/05/2024 20:21

Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife !

4 or 5lbs to lose in June by the last week in June is my ambitious goal, that will get me to where I’d like to be by my summer holiday.

I just need to get past this weekend and I’ll be super focused on calorie counting and exercise. Hopefully…

LemonDrizzle23 · 01/06/2024 10:37

Thank you for the new thread @TheRealHousewife Very sorry you're still suffering!

Seeing out the end of half term here and back to sensible meals today. To start June off, I have pre-tracked all next weeks breakfasts and lunches (and a couple of dinners) in nutracheck. My walks and gym sessions for next week are scheduled in my diary. I'm really hoping for a break in the rain so I can do more walking outside.

Aiming for a very methodical, planned June and looking forward to seeing it pay off 🤞🏻

talkingdeadscot · 01/06/2024 13:49

Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife Marking my place with a June starting weight of 64.9kg and still determined to get to 63kg. That would see my weight into the 9's, a weight I haven't seen for around 10 years.

TheRealHousewife · 01/06/2024 15:51

Jumping back in after 6 weeks off the WL meds, my appetite has come back with a vengeance, no losses made on my own but didn't pile it back on, gained a couple of pounds. Sorted out my hormonal issues, started HRT which stopped the major symptoms and ready to get on adding to my 2stone weight loss. I'm aiming for a 7lb loss this month.

Good luck everyone 👍 💓

tweetypi · 02/06/2024 19:57

Looking forward to joining in for June. I've got 3 stone to lose and want to get focussed once DD is back at school and we're back in routine. I'm planning on joining the gym tomorrow and getting to some classes during my wfh lunch breaks. I've not got my fitness back since having DS but he is over a year old now and I really ought to get cracking. Good luck everyone!

rainbow616 · 02/06/2024 21:17

I'm really looking forward to getting back into it this month. May was full of nightmares diet wise! Me and my husband went to Bristol for the weekend, it was my birthday, both the kids had a sickness bug and were off school/nursery and it's been half term... BUT, I've got a exercise plan and hoping to do at least 8000 steps a day, do some boxing training with my husband to try and get rid of the bingo wings 😝 and there's lots of healthy food in the fridge!

SW 13st 5.4lbs
CW 12st 10lbs
GW (for 28th June) 12st 3lbs

Good luck everyone!

MrsPepperpotty · 03/06/2024 11:00

Checking in on the new thread - thanks @TheRealHousewife!

ImALittlePea · 03/06/2024 11:04

Morning! Happy June!

I've got a long weekend/mini break away with family coming up, so my focus is for good choices only until then, and crack back on with that next week.

Started today with my dance class, first one in a couple of weeks due to a dodgy ankle. In the best mood now after!!

Food:
L - two scrambled eggs, some cherry toms and cheddar, on one slice of 50/50 with a bit of ketchup and followed by a greek yoghurt (580 cals)
D - grilled chicken breast, homemade sweet potato chips, veg (also 580 cals)

Rushing to get ready for work now, on a split shift so lots of steps today alongside my class this morning. Hoping to hear back from new job with full JD and contract today so I can get my notice handed in! 🤞

Have a positive Monday everyone!

PatienceOfEngels · 03/06/2024 18:50

Late to the party! My intended clean break for June hasn't turned out how I hoped. Both DC2 and I are ill with a horrible virus - headaches, congested - so feeling bleurgh!

Looking forward to feeling a bit more normal tomorrow.

PatienceOfEngels · 03/06/2024 18:51

Congrats @ImALittlePea ! Missed your new job announcement on the last thread.

My aims for June are tonnes of fruit/veg/water/fish/chicken, yoga and relaxation, getting my steps in and spending more time outside.

LemonDrizzle23 · 03/06/2024 22:35

Well done @ImALittlePea ! I hope the transition to new job goes smoothly!

The weekend reset and start of term has been good. The scales are coming back down again - I think half term damage is only temporary. Lots of walking is my goal in June, and carrying on with IF.

School breaks up on the 19th July, so that's the next target in my head. Just under 7 weeks, so enough time to carry on onwards and downwards!

katcha87 · 03/06/2024 22:53

Hi all,

I would love to join in please, for motivation and accountability. We (DH, DS 7 and I) are just back from holiday and I'm currently at a round (not sure if the pun is intended!) 180lbs. I'd love to loose 7lbs this month, through Calorie counting and upping my steps.
I have lost weight over the past 18m (down from 257lbs) but it's creeping back up and I never got to my "goal weight"
Looking forward to seeing how you all get on, and hopefully stealing some tips and motivation along the way!

GameOfJones · 04/06/2024 07:37

Hi all, joining back in for June and I will weigh in tomorrow.

Half term threw me off track but I'm determined to get back to it. Yesterday I did yoga and weights and ate well and I felt so much better for it. I need to hold on to that feeling and remind myself that when I eat crap I feel crap..... I don't know why I self sabotage.

Anyway, onwards and downwards. Today's plan is:

B - I've just finished it..... yoghurt, nuts and a banana
L - not sure yet as I have the dentist
D - mushrooms and poached egg on wholegrain toast

ChickenChipsandBeans · 04/06/2024 08:00

Started June at 72.1kg. Aiming to be 70kg in 2 weeks time for our U.K visit. Not sure if it will happen, but my head is in the game atm and exercise still good so you never know...

ImALittlePea · 04/06/2024 09:29

Thanks for the congrats @LemonDrizzle23 @PatienceOfEngels

Feeling really rubbish today, I didn't get home until nearly 11pm from work last night, was woken multiple times overnight by the DC and up at 6am with the youngest. I was planning on having my cup-a-soup special for lunch today, but I'm so tired I feel like I need something more substantial to get me through my shift; we also have a meeting with DS's senco and teacher after school/work which I need to be on form for. I'm hankering after a bacon sandwich, got an hour before I have to eat and get ready though so hoping to find my energy and good choice motiviation in that time!

Getting a portion of bolognese out of the freezer for dinner though. Will have with some spaghetti and a big salad.

PatienceOfEngels · 04/06/2024 10:01

Still feeling bleurgh.

Not sure what to do for dinner. Had lasagne yesterday. Maybe salmon with carrots/sweetcorn and potatoes.

And lunch. CBA to make soup so maybe jacket potato with mushrooms and cheese.

Already had:
-boiled egg and rye toast, butter, coffee
-greek yoghurt, banana, honey
-handful unsalted nuts
-rice cake with cheese and marmite.

Feeling ill but hungry!

tweetypi · 04/06/2024 10:47

I had a good day yesterday, I went to my first Body Pump class in about 7 years and I'm definitely feeling it today!

B - porridge with banana and pecans
L - protein smoothie
D - bean chilli with rice

I'm still feeling quite exhausted from my workout yesterday so trying to drink lots of water and hoping that as I get fitter it will be easier.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 04/06/2024 13:15

Hi everyone. I got back on it yesterday, counting calories and exercising. Three week countdown to our holiday. Not expecting a loss tomorrow, but if I have stayed around 10 st 4/5 I”” be pleased with that. We’ll see…

PatienceOfEngels · 05/06/2024 07:11

WOW

CW 71.1kg
SW 77kg (beginning October 2023)
GW 68kg

Forgot to weigh in last week until Friday when I was 71kg. Finally got rid of the lurgy and back to work today. Ready to get my motivation back on.

LemonDrizzle23 · 05/06/2024 07:31

Good luck with WOW everyone!

I have managed to maintain over the last two WOWs, including DHs birthday and half term, which was my aim. (Or rather I think I went a bit up and then down again! But have come out in the same place.)

SW: 97.5
CW: 91.8
10%: 88

7 weeks til summer holidays, so I'm throwing myself into it!

talkingdeadscot · 05/06/2024 07:54

WOW

SW - 93kg
GW - 55kg
CW - 64.3kg

A small loss this week but nonetheless a loss and it's stuck. I've accepted that I'm a very slow loser so there's no alternative but to keep plodding on. July will be 12 months since I started so it would be good to be 63kg by then making it a round 30kg loss and into the 9's. Good luck everyone.
