Not much to lose

Is anyone in the same situation?

I've put on a couple of kg over Christmas and haven't really got my head back in the normal eating game yet 😬

So my starting weight is 66.2kg. I'm aiming to get back under 64kg.

I love working out and walking, so exercise isn't an issue. It's just the snacking that needs to reduce! Hopefully posting here will help me.

How's everyone getting on?

I got some chocolates as a present from a patient this afternoon but I've also had one! They're Lindt balls as well! I've left them out on the kitchen table in the hopes my family will deal with them 🤣

I’m still eating virtually nothing at work, buying a whole load of treats (partly for the kids) then stuffing myself when I get home. Going to try taking healthy, protein-based snacks to eat on my way home (I walk 45 mins) so I don’t cave later.

Also work has been stressful and I haven’t had much bandwidth to resist food. I’ve caught up with a few outstanding things at home today so should hopefully feel more on top of it tomorrrow 🤞

well done on the losses those above me!

Iamblossom · 25/01/2024 10:29

I am abroad for work at the moment which makes it difficult to control what I eat. And no scales which is probably a good thing.....

Findingmeagain · 25/01/2024 16:57

I've been pretty good throughout the week. Not fully doing keto but trying to avoid bread and pasta - but I find work days easier to avoid snacking than the weekend. I tend to weigh myself daily so it can be a bit up and down but overall 1lb down on last week (but won't count it properly until sunday). Been drinking lots of cups of coffee though as my energy is low.

IpanemaCaipirinha · 26/01/2024 09:19

I’m still on my 1lb down!

Going at snail pace hereGrin but my jeans feel looser and I think that’s down to the increase in steps and mini workouts.

Almost there! I've really got back to eating well and yoga practice this week and I'm feeling so much better for it. The biggest challenge will be the weekend!

Happy Friday, everyone!

IpanemaCaipirinha · 26/01/2024 15:32

Well done persephone. Top of the league Halo

HowDoYouMakeThem · 26/01/2024 18:14

@PersephonePomegranate23 you are smashing it!

I'm maintaining this week I think but that's understandable as I had quite a big jump down on the scales last week.

I'm going out for dinner with some friends tonight so will choose exactly what I fancy to eat and drink 😋. I don't eat out that regularly and life's too short to deny myself the pleasure of a delicious restaurant meal 🙌

@HowDoYouMakeThem Thanks! I'm fortunate that I lose quite easily if I don't misbehave for too long...the flip side is, I also gain easily too!

I think next week will be slower now that I'm closer to normal again.

Enjoy your night out! I'm out next weekend and intend to eat and drink what I like 😀

PersephonePomegranate23 · 26/01/2024 18:30

Well done persephone. Top of the league

Thank you 😀

Heading in the right direction, quite liking weighing every day to keep me focused. Also it's interesting to see fluctuations and possibly work out patterns. Eating toooo much empty calorie food still. I think I'm going to order some instant healthy stuff - cooked chicken, pre prepped veg etc in my shop this afternoon rather than telling myself I'll cook and grabbing whatever's in the cupboard.

Magnolia82 · 27/01/2024 13:16

@PrincessPotato I'm a similar weight to you. I wondered whether you'd be happy to share what a typical day (or week) of eating looks like for you to help you lose weight? I'm really struggling to lose.

Out for drinks tonight but have eaten well today so hoping it won't offset things too much. I'm currently not eating breakfast, having meat cheese, blueberries/raspberries and some cashews at lunch. Meat and veg for dinner and greek yoghurt for dessert. Walking the dog for 60 mins every morning. Preparing myself to see less movement in the scales next week though. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Another half pound off this morning so I’m happy with that. Had a very poor sleep so will have to be careful not to snack too much today which I tend to do when very tired 😴

HowDoYouMakeThem · 28/01/2024 08:09

Well done everyone, that's brilliant! 🙌

I'm on my period and feeling bloated. The scales whizzed up this morning but I know I just need to carry on and ride out the next few days.

Off to the gym shortly and that should help my mindset.

MoonieDoo · 28/01/2024 08:36

Congratulations everyone! Sadly I’m still hovering at 8st 12 on a good day. I’m counting calories aiming for 1200 a day and I think I’ve lost inches but no weight. Im eating so much veg and squash. My fridge is full of pumpkin soup.

I’m doubling down this week with fruit for breakfast so fewer carbs. This is infuriating!

Findingmeagain · 28/01/2024 08:46

Keep going - your whoosh will come !

coloursquare · 28/01/2024 11:29

I've slightly lost track due to fluctuations so I am going to weigh in on Wednesday (31 Jan) as I started on NYE. That way I can take a view of the month.

HowDoYouMakeThem · 28/01/2024 16:22

I had a great work out this morning and a lovely walk this afternoon. It's such a gorgeous day here.

However......I've eaten way too much 😳

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day 😂

OP posts:
BogRollBOGOF · 28/01/2024 19:28

I'm not showing loses yet, but I am feeling less bloaty than I did at the start of the month. I'm in the late stages of a running training plan so have tired muscles so I'm blaming them for water retention 😉

I've been eating nutritiously anyway so it's all healthy habits.

I've also been managing to push back breakfast over the last few weeks to get a longer period of fasting.
