Not much to lose

Is anyone in the same situation?

I've put on a couple of kg over Christmas and haven't really got my head back in the normal eating game yet 😬

So my starting weight is 66.2kg. I'm aiming to get back under 64kg.

I love working out and walking, so exercise isn't an issue. It's just the snacking that needs to reduce! Hopefully posting here will help me.

I absolutely need to lose 4lb, which will get me down to 9st. Ideally, I want to lose 7 or 8 lb, which will get rid of my belly and make me feel slim and confident.

MoonieDoo · 10/01/2024 21:12

That's a really good motivator @Lowin2024. I have the same at the end of Feb and really hoping to be under 9 stone by then. Today I ate a lot of cauliflower. I'm still mourning the loss of my old eating habits @HowDoYouMakeThem, as realistically I have to change the way I eat for good after this push to keep on track. Busy days are so much easier to manage.

SpongeBlobSquareFace · 11/01/2024 06:16

56.7kg this morning but only cos I was ill yesterday.
Hoping for a healthy day of eating today.

mutleyschuckle · 11/01/2024 11:00

Lost 0.6 kg, which could have just been a big poo but it's made me fast again

IpanemaCaipirinha · 11/01/2024 11:17

Same here. Just 5-7lbs over what I’ve weighed for the last 12 years or so since last baby. I’m 49 and haven’t been as active in the last year for various reasons.

On that note I’m off for a pre-lunch sunny walk. Day off today so easier. Plus I’ve been doing lots of housework!

HowDoYouMakeThem · 12/01/2024 19:18

How's it going for everyone?

I'm going to weigh in tomorrow I think. I've eaten too many biscuits today but hopefully that won't have too much of an impact 🙄

This is me! 5 ft 2 and weigh almost 9 stone, feel so much better when I am between 8st and 8 st 4.
I’ve just been unwell and am annoyed as I’d got off to a really good start in the New Year but that fell by the wayside when I was ill. I’m going on holiday in 11 weeks and if I’m 8st 4lb by then I’ll be happy. Snacking is my downfall too!

HowDoYouMakeThem · 13/01/2024 08:33

Morning all. I'm posting my update here to keep myself accountable.

08.01.24 - SW: 66.8kg
CW: 65.9kg
GW: 63.8kg

Happy with that 🙌

Very similar stats here. 8.4 is achievable for me. Would love 8 stone but always find it tricky/impossible to get to that. Also starting at 9 stone. What's your plan? How many cals are do you go to?

I try and stick to 1200 cals with a focus on more protein and lower carbs and refined sugar. I walk as much as I can and try to do additional exercise such as a bike ride or HIT workout. If I stick to it it works!

IpanemaCaipirinha · 14/01/2024 09:10

I’m aiming for 1lb a week and giving myself until Easter hols. General idea is;

Cut out extra snacks, my diet is really healthy but I nibble from fridge when WFH. Cheese rather than biscuits as I don’t have a sweet tooth.

Increase walking. I walk my dog every day but plan to drop her back home then go back out alone for a speed walk!

Already do 4 cardio workouts at home with light weights, so continue with these.

More yoga and Pilates at home (say this every year but as I’m nearly 50 this will really benefit me so need to just do it).

Lowin2024 · 14/01/2024 10:57

Ohhh I’m so annoyed. I’ve been really good. I went from 8.13 to 8.11. Last night went out (never go out!) and had dinner out, some wine and a cocktail and this morning I’m 9.0
Obviously I can’t have gained 3lbs in a day but it’s so disheartening. Ive not been over 9 stone before except when pregnant.

AuntieMarys · 14/01/2024 11:24

Yes! I'm 12 stone 8....was 13 stone 3 in October. Would like to get to 12 stone 2.
I spin, do PT and walk and have cut alcohol out.
Doing 16/8 as much as possible

MinnieMountain · 14/01/2024 14:16

Thank you for starting this thread @HowDoYouMakeThem .

I’m 64kg and want to loose 2kg. I’ve tried 16/8 fasting but find I eat too much once I hit my eating time.

I know it’s not the best idea but I tired a 1 hour eating window on Thursday and Friday which works better for me. I’ll only do it on weekdays.

StewardsEnquiry · 14/01/2024 14:33

I'll join in too.
CW: 10st 5
GW: 9st 12
I do 16:8 but usually eat too much chocolate after dinner to shift any weight. I've felt really hungry today so already fucked up by eating chocolate and some of DS's chips from his lunch.
I have salad with mackerel for dinner tonight.

Lowin2024 · 14/01/2024 14:47

I also do 16:8. I find it easy to not have breakfast and have a healthy lunch. Then I can easily consume 400 calls in snacks whilst making the kids dinner around 5ish which totally ruins the point of not eating breakfast. And then some nights I’ll eat far too much chocolate after dinner too. I suspect my lunch is probably too light with not enough protein so I am starving by late afternoon.

HowDoYouMakeThem · 14/01/2024 16:04

@MinnieMountain you're very welcome 🥰

Check your TDEE and cut off 500 cals for 1lb a week or 250 a day for half, soon be off

Zanatdy · 14/01/2024 16:13

Hi all

Joining in. I was 9st 8.4 after Christmas which for me at 5ft 1 is a lot and I was over weight in my weight app. I got down to 7st 7 in lockdown and though that was too thin, I’d like to be 8st 7. Started on 1st Jan, weighing daily with Monday my official weigh in day and so far I’ve lost 4.4lbs. Hoping that’s a little more for tomorrow. Lost 2lbs in week 1 and a little more week 2.

I’m calorie counting, on 1200 but will drop down to 1100 when I stop losing. Increased my steps but do a fair amount anyway. I run a ladies walking group which is great for the steps. Though the pub lunches and coffee and cake is tempting and yesterday I managed to have a cup of tea only when others had full English or cream teas! So far so good, hoping to have lost half a stone by Valentines (I’m single so random date!) and should be well on the way to that. But got 2 meals out this week plus usual temptation of walking group. Good luck all

DiegosMomHasGotItGoingOn · 14/01/2024 16:15

I’ve put on over a stone since getting married in November so need to get some focus back.

currently 9st 11 and would love to be 8st 7 before we go away on April.

I won’t be able to get to the gym much in the next 4 weeks because of other commitments so I will have to be super strict diet wise.

I hate that. I wouldn’t weigh for a couple of days as you’re only going to get a fake weight. I’ve got 2 meals out this week after losing 4.4lbs so far since 1st Jan and I’m annoyed. I promised after covid I wouldn’t say no to meeting friends as never know what’s around the corner so I think I’ll just have to chose wisely. I am tempted to push forward one to the following week and make an excuse up!!

BurntOrange · 14/01/2024 16:26

I'd like to join. I got down to 11st 2 before Christmas and currently sitting at 11st 10 - ideally I'd be 10st 10 and would like to get there by Easter 🤞

For those of us who are short - have any of you heard of/seen April Whitney on YouTube? I've somehow just stumbled across her. I'm normally quite wary of random people online as it's hard to know what actual qualifications etc they really have, but some of this seems to make some sense to me? Just wondered what other people think?

It's lovely to see other people here who are short and trying to lose weight. (It can sometimes be hard to explain to other people why I need to lose a bit of weight at 8 stone 6, but I definitely do need to drop a few pounds!).

So glad you posted this. I'm going watch all of them this eve and try and get my head in the gear.

I know exactly what you mean! The trouble is my mind now equates 9 - 10 stone as being normal as that's what I hear most people talk about for healthy weights for women. My brain has literally been tricked and I need to get out of this mindset, as I genuinely look overweight above 8 stone!

chocrolos · 14/01/2024 18:20

What's everyone's go to meals when dieting? Need some inspiration. The following are pretty standard for me:

Cardamom chicken (fast 800)
Overnight oats
Soup
Cajun chicken w/ salad or veg
Salmon fillet
Greek yoghurt & fruit
Omelettes
Greek salad
