⭐️LOSE IT! July. Summer Edition⭐️

Healthy eating in the summer can be tricky to navigate. Summer barbecues, holidays, get togethers with family & friends makes it tougher to stay on track. No one wants to miss out on all the goodies on offer or be seen not joining in. However with forward planning and by setting your intentions you can mitigate any serious undoing of your endeavours. For example having a lighter lunch if you know you’re going for a slap up meal. Eat lighter the following day and keep hydrated to compensate.

Yet another new month will provide the opportunity to embrace a re-set and refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight as well as those who wish to maintain; to encourage a healthy & varied diet and exercise.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9.5st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back mainly on track. Would love to wave bye to another half a stone 😬 The main thing is to never give up! Keep going!

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes!

Morning all! Here's to a great week!
Thanks @TheRealHousewife, she's very troubled but will get there eventually.
I've had halloumi 2 days running and had salty popcorn and lots of it so a slight gain but still staying around target. I just get very bloated if I eat out of my usual diet. My guts work better but I blow up like a balloon. Oats and chia are prepping for porridge as I drink my tea. Must remember 🍾 and lots of it.

Hope everyone is doing ok especially @Weatherwax13 and @Ninjachicken

Welcome@BabyNo03! This bunch of lovelies are responsible for helping me lose over 2 stone to get firmly in the middle of a my healthy bmi band. I Hope you will enjoy the thread and find it as supportive as I do.

Morning All, which catch up fully later but did my final July weigh in this morning at 65.2kg. Slightly higher than I would like but does mean I achieved my goal of loosing 1kg this month!

Bikechic · 31/07/2023 14:04

Final July weigh in says I have stayed the same for last 3 weeks but I'm still 2 lb down from start of month. I'm losing momentum. Doesn't help that I received a few delicious teacher gifts at the end of term. And then helping out at a holiday club where there are very fine cakes available. And DD is back home - sharing bag of kettle chips gets opened every night. Oh well, with all that, I suppose I've done well to stay where I am!

Weatherwax13 · 31/07/2023 17:41

Thanks @ImALittlePea it's been a hellish few days since returning but I've had a useful therapy session and have several more booked in. H sees GP Thurs to get a referral of his own .
Idk what's going to happen.
On the weight front: I'm losing daily again.
Which would be great if done healthily but I'm living on icecream. It's the only thing I can bear to eat.
Can anyone inspire me with food ideas?? What do you eat if you're unwell perhaps? Idk. Just any inspiration as I can't face food at all.

I can’t help you @Weatherwax13 i have just eaten a mars bar for my dinner 🤣

Weatherwax13 · 31/07/2023 22:52

@Ninjachicken i can relate😆
How are you coping?

DownUdderer · 01/08/2023 04:31

@Weatherwax13 can you pick up a cooked chicken from the supermarket? That's what I grab when I can't face cooking.

I have had a salad for lunch, yum. Very filling. I just need to avoid silly snacking today.

TheRealHousewife · 01/08/2023 08:46

Well I'm a 1lb down overall for July. Better than a gain 👍 I did have a bit of a whoosh early July but most of that reattached 😬

Here's to a successful August 👍

up and down @Weatherwax13 i am scared and then I have moments when I feel elated and free. And then I panic again. It is a rollercoaster. But I know in my heart I need to change my situation. I have been lying to myself and pushing my feelings down for years, and now I have admitted it, I have to do this for myself. I have been living for my children, and for other people for years and I need to find myself again. I feel like I have been sleepwalking through my life and now I have woken up. It will be the most scary thing I have ever done but I need to do it.
I never talk about how I feel and even writing this in an anonymous group feels scary.
thank you all for all your support, it means so much ❤️

Weatherwax13 · 01/08/2023 17:50

@Ninjachicken I could've written your post word for word. I'm glad you were able to get it out. I so understand how even doing so anonymously feels confronting. I'm going back into therapy - and this time telling 100% truth of what's been happening in my marriage. I was even covering things up with my psychologist previously.. Says it all doesn't it!
I wonder if you can access a decent psychologist too, even if only a few sessions. It might be really helpful. Sending you a hug.

Weatherwax13 · 01/08/2023 17:52

@TheRealHousewife well done. Here's to a successful August for you.
@DownUdderer thanks for the suggestion.

Ninjachicken · 03/08/2023 12:54

Weighing in at 57.3 kgs today, it is nice to be dropping the weight but I would like to be doing it in a healthier way!
i do not have any professional help @Weatherwax13 but I do have strong support from friends and my mum
I hope you are doing ok too
