⭐️LOSE IT! JUNE 2023 SUMMER SIZZLER⭐️

Summer is here and holiday time is upon us! A new month provides the opportunity to embrace a re-set and refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose as well as those who wish to maintain; to encourage a healthy & varied diet and exercise.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9.5st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back mainly on track. Would love to wave bye to another half a stone 😬

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes!

Good Morning

Posted July link. MN seem to have altered the formatting and the link is showing twice, which isn’t as neat as before 🤷‍♀️.

I share your frustration @Restartandrefresh Im sorry I don’t know of any magic bullets. It can be tough, especially if getting nearer to goal. Also if you’re exercising a lot you could be building healthy muscle 👍 In regards to your abs perhaps a chat with the gp would be useful. Good luck!

I WOWed yesterday and I’m the exact same weight as at the beginning of the month. Bugger. On pain meds at the moment which always adds some water weight. The important thing to remember is that if I hadn’t continued to eat mindfully and healthily throughout I’d have gained lbs. There is absolutely no sense in ever throwing the towel in as that would surely undo all endeavours and also impact on esteem and sense of wellbeing. Long term sustainable change = long term health benefits 👍

Lovely to have you both back @ImALittlePea & @Was126orbustandmaybebust ❤️ Not bad gains either for a holiday. You’ll soon see that bit gone 😬 @ImALittlePea you've made a flying start … 1lb off already 👏👏👏

@AutisticLegoLover Sending love in regards to your biopsy 🤞Well done on getting to target and staying there! Not easy! 👏👏👏

@DownUdderer I love a beef stew 😋 How did it turn out?

@Bikechic To cook rhubarb without sugar = Wash and slice the rhubarb into inch long pieces. Put into a saucepan on low heat with perhaps a tablespoon of water, lid on and let it cook down. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook to required consistency. I jar some up and put in fridge and surplus in small containers into the freezer. I have it with 0% Fage Greek Yoghurt. I like the tang.

Well done on your loss @NothingTraLaLa @Tessisme 👍Every little helps!

@TooEarly4Breakfast Welcome back and well done on your loss! I always set about cleaning and closing the kitchen after the last meal. I find it works! My OH has reduced his evening snacking!

@Karatema Sorry to read your post. 💔💐

@Ninjachicken Excellent post! Very sensible. 👍

Menu
Meal 1 - Home made spicy vegetable minestrone soup. 2 boiled eggs.
Meal 2 - Salmon, quinoa and a mixed salad. Conference pear. Pecans.

That's exactly it @TheRealHousewife context and perspective with our results is SO important so we don't sabotage our efforts.

I'm starting to get soup envy with all of your lovely it it meals. I'm actually not the biggest soup fan but when you've got a nice flavour combo they can be delicious! I used to have a soup maker but it broke, maybe I need to reinvest....

Bikechic · 30/06/2023 21:30

@TheRealHousewife Challenge accepted with no sugar rhubarb. I will give it a go.

@Karatema sorry for your loss. I put on so much weight when I lost a parent 3 years ago - in hindsight I should have replaced food with long walks to process it all but hindsight is a funny thing!

I've gone lower carb and higher fat (avocados, nuts, greek yoghurt etc) as my weight has plateaued - just 1 week of this so far and my pre-pregnancy jeans fit!!!! Going to continue with this plan and will report back :)

In case you're wondering my baby is now 4 so that pregnancy was a while ago 🤦‍♀️
