⭐️LOSE IT! JUNE 2023 SUMMER SIZZLER⭐️

Summer is here and holiday time is upon us! A new month provides the opportunity to embrace a re-set and refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose as well as those who wish to maintain; to encourage a healthy & varied diet and exercise.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9.5st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back mainly on track. Would love to wave bye to another half a stone 😬

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes!

Came in at just under 11 st today. Very pleased after last week's increase. That's 1.5 lb down from 2 weeks ago.

MercurialMargot · 14/06/2023 09:27

Weird WOW here. So technically 1.7kg down from previous Wednesday. However last Wednesday's weight was weirdly high compared to general trend so in reality. More like 0.5kg down from normal trend. Either way, a good result!

Allthegoodnamestakken · 14/06/2023 09:56

Hello all,
Finding it so hard to keep up with these threads currently but just popping in to say well done to all the WOWers. I will be a WOTer this week as I forgot this morning. Despite not keeping up with the thread i've been pretty well behaved recently so hoping for a loss or maintain.

Was126orbustandmaybebust · 14/06/2023 12:30

127.2lbs this morning so a whole 0.2lb since yesterday - tough near target though I had hoped 126lbs would be an interim target as I'm only 5'2".
Onwards and inwards - by the mm at the moment 😂

TheRealHousewife · 14/06/2023 12:31

@ImALittlePea congratulations that's brilliant! Yes I'm happy but surprised considering 2 weeks of half term and being off plan.
@Helloworld99 well done that's a great loss!
@Tessisme a stay the same is better than a gain and feeling better is great.
@Minervia a great start!
@Bikechic @MercurialMargot well done on your losses!
@Allthegoodnamestakken great to see you and glad to hear you're doing better with things.
@Was126orbustandmaybebust keep going and you'll get there.
@TheRealHousewife I can't recall your previous weight but I hope it's a happy wow for you. Your menu always looks so healthy compared to mine. I wish I could eat eggs.

NothingTraLaLa · 14/06/2023 13:58

I love this thread, everyone is so supportive.

SW 128 lbs
CW 125.8 lbs
TW 119 lbs

That’s pretty much the same as last week, and I’m happy to have kept it below 9 stone.

DownUdderer · 15/06/2023 05:15

I had a good food day yesterday. I've had a good start to the day today.

I've been out for a walk today and I got 10,000 steps so that's nice.

I'm willing myself to have a string of good days in a row. I'm willing myself to think positive and not to get too bogged down with feeling fed up of planning.

AutisticLegoLover · 15/06/2023 06:52

@NothingTraLaLa staying the same is better than a gain!

53.85kg this morning!

Have a great day!

Shellwedance · 15/06/2023 07:27

I’m going to jump on, if that’s OK. My weight just keeps going up and up, possibly peri-menopausal but probably because I just can’t stop snacking at night!

I’ve decided enough is enough and I’m going to try Fast 800 but mainly just try to sort out the snacking. I find it so hard to shift any weight at all so this will hopefully be a kick start

Starting weight 13 stone 8 (which is a stone on from last year - horrifying)

Karatema · 15/06/2023 09:31

Finally weighed myself
CW: 76.85

I'm happy with that, a 1kg increase, after a very boozy weekend. Onwards and downwards 🤣

DownUdderer · 15/06/2023 10:19

Welcome @Shellwedance .

I had a homemade chicken soup for dinner. I put in loads of veggies and there's loads left so I'll definitely be having some tomorrow. I felt in control of my food today which was nice.

ThreeRingCircus · 15/06/2023 11:00

Well done everyone weighing in, either for good news from the scales or just for keeping on going when it's tough.

I'm going to weigh tomorrow this week as it's my time of the month and I always seem to put on a few lbs this week so I'm just going to avoid the scales as I don't want to demotivate myself. I've still been on plan.

Yesterday's meals:

B - a latte
L - two poached eggs, three falafel, tomato, avocado and spring onions
D - pasta with a garlic olive oil sauce, spinach and basil
S - iced tea and a lemonade

Today's meals:

B - a latte
L - protein yoghurt and fruit salad
D - boil in the bag fish in parsley sauce with peas and sweetcorn

Allthegoodnamestakken · 15/06/2023 11:05

Hello all, weighed myself this morning as 66.2kg which is 0.9kg down in 2 weeks so feeling really pleased about that!
Meal plan not so healthy today as Lunch is a cafe sandwich and dinner pasta but my food shop is arriving tomorrow so things should be looking healthier.

Welcome @Shellwedance

greenspaces4peace · 16/06/2023 04:58

winging it isn't really doing anything :(
weighing and counting calories.
fingers crossed i can stay focused till the end of the month.

AutisticLegoLover · 16/06/2023 06:53

@Shellwedance welcome!
@Karatema braving the scales is the hardest part sometimes.
@Allthegoodnamestakken well done!
@greenspaces4peace you can do it 😊

54.1kg this morning. Must stop eating ice cream lollies because my stomach objects and responds by making me look 7 months pregnant.

Have a great day everyone! I have a rare day off today and am going to do some gardening and maybe some tidying. Keep up the 🍾

ImALittlePea · 16/06/2023 07:52

Morning all. How is everyone today?

I'm 2oz up this week, however still under my 2st target weight so ok with that. Holiday next weekend, so I'm going to try and knuckle down and lose a bit before that 😬

Week has been pretty much on the ball food wise, but I did have wine on Tuesday and then finished the bottle last night, which probably answers that 2oz.

Off to the zoo today so unsure of food. Lots of steps and water though! Have a good one gang!

Allthegoodnamestakken · 16/06/2023 09:59

@AutisticLegoLover have a lovely day off in the garden
@ImALittlePea enjoy the zoo! I love the zoo such a good day out

I am struggling a little mentally this week, finding it really hard to focus and snap out of a constant state of anxiety about nothing. Trying not to let this ruin food choices. Today lunch is unknown but dinner is a chicken and veggie stir fry with rice noodles.

greenspaces4peace · 17/06/2023 00:44

okay so today looks like it will be a success.
i pre entered my "meals" prior to bed last night which helped keep me focused.
i expect by sunday to have flushed lots of salt and hopefully see the beginning of life in the 40's....even if it's 149.9
i dug up a recipe for oatmeal from the time i tried the online fast 800 which was 180 calories or so.
made up a batch of chicken broth for my lunches this week to have with fresh veggies.
planned the "coffee break snack" dh and i have at 3:30pm to be half the calories i usually take in at this time.
supper will be not too unusual bbq chicken, green salad with more lemon juice than olive oil drsg, and two tiny new potatoes.
water, vitamin supplements, and am weigh in (which was high)

DownUdderer · 17/06/2023 01:31

I've weighed this morning and I'm pleased that most of my re-gain had shifted. I've had three days of eating exactly what I intended to eat with no wavering. I'm planning a good day today. Having soup in the fridge ready to be heated up really really helped me this week.

I wanted to throw in the towel at the beginning of the week. I just wanted to say fck this! But the dread I felt about not fitting in my jeans kept me level headed.

I had been doing really well, then had a re-gain and felt defeated. But now most of that has been re-lost I want to carry on losing.

I'm a gnats fart away from being Normal Weight, instead of Over Weight.

Hang in there everyone! Keep on keeping on.

greenspaces4peace · 17/06/2023 02:02

@DownUdderer , soup I agree can be really instrumental.

pinkyponkyplink · 17/06/2023 03:33

@TheRealHousewife what is your height please and how long did it take to go from 12 stone to under 10 stone? That is my ideal. I'm between 11 1/2 and12 stone and aim to be 10 stone but really want to do it in 6 weeks! Any suggestions?

Minervia · 17/06/2023 07:59

I've been having a good week making good choices but have just started a course of steroids for a middle ear problem. Hope they don't make me starving and send me.off course. Also going out tonight...there will be pizza and wine..

Bikechic · 17/06/2023 11:49

@pinkyponkyplink your suggested target of 10 st in 6 weeks would involve losing about 4 lb per week. That's too much.
To encourage you, I'm now 11st on my way to 10st. I'm a lot more body confident than when I began. So if you're aiming for a particular event (wedding or holiday), even losing 1/2 a stone will give you a boost. That's also a more realistic and healthy target for your time frame.

MercurialMargot · 17/06/2023 11:55

I'm still doing alright, dragged my terribly weak self to bodypump today and have done 3 swims and 2 pilates sessions this week. Fingers crossed for a rewarding WoW 😆
