Human being diet

Is anyone else doing this? I started on Saturday (a little later than my planned 1st Jan start as I was skiing). So today I completed my first day of the 14 day phase 2.

I took the salts on Saturday but they didn't kick in until the evening so kids bedtime was fun.

I ate vegetables all weekend, drank black tea and coffee.

Today I have had:
B - Blueberries and Greek yogurt
L - Spicy mince with mushrooms, peppers and salad with ACV
D - 2 egg omelette with mushrooms and peppers and some cucumber and dessert was steamed apple sprinkled with cinnamon.

I have been sipping on fruit tea through the day (which I think is allowed).

I weighed in this morning and have lost 4 1/2 pounds so far - 148.8lbs starting weight and now am 144.5. So we will see how the weigh ins go...

Honestly I don't feel hungry, if I was to snack now it would be because of boredom rather than hunger which is why I'm planning to take myself to bed soon.

I'm really hoping to keep this up and complete all the phases but I would love to have a buddy? Is anyone else on the HBD wagon?

Hiya, I’m doing HBD - wanting to lose some weight before snowboarding next month. I think it’s great, lost almost a stone on it last year then drifted away from the rules and stalled. Back on it a week and have lost 2kg already and sleeping better. Are you on Instagram? There’s a really active insta-community, just look at who Petronella follows and follow people who have hbd in their user name. I have a separate profile for it.

btw sad news - you can only have water between meals. Fruit tea is out at any time in phase 2!

xx

yesthisprobablyisaboutyou · 13/01/2023 20:19

I should do this 😩

Longwhiskers · 13/01/2023 20:20

I’m intrigued enough to go away and Google it!

lemontova · 13/01/2023 20:28

The first 16 days are quite tough - no sugar, alcohol or wheat - but if you can get through that it’s really easy to follow. It’s really changed my attitude towards food!

Passpass · 13/01/2023 20:30

I thought this was about cannibalism!

TalkToTheHand123 · 13/01/2023 20:53

Just read up on it and seems to be quite restrictive for nutrition.

lemontova · 13/01/2023 22:39

Not really. The first two weeks are very low calorie but fine after that - it’s all good quality protein and vegetables, fruit.

benten54 · 25/01/2023 19:25

Anyone doing this? Threads on here are get pretty scant replies and I'm used to finding online forums/Facebook pages of others on it and I can't find a thing!! Would love to chat with others on it.

I started 4 days ago and am already half a stone down (started at 15stone ish so plenty to lose). Realise that that's almost all water weight and a backed up colon) but i feel so so much better. I have signs of inflammation (painful joints) and peri menopausal and it's designed to deal with that and it's had an immediate impact on those symptoms (cutting out dairy, alcohol and nightshades with a plan for phased reintroduction to identify the trigger)

I like the fact it's a 4 phase plan with some achievable date milestones:
1: first two days vegetables ONLY
2: two weeks protein and green veggies ONLY no oil or dairy
3: as 2 but introduce oil and more carby veg plus a weekly treat meal for 12 weeks
4:maintenance

Anyone else want to share their journey?

lemontova · 30/01/2023 17:00

You're doing brilliantly! There's a really active HBD community, but it's all on instagram, and a lot of people have a separate account for it with HBD as part of their username. I am one of them but don't want to out myself here as it's a private account with a lot of personal info on it. You can find everyone by following @ petronellaravenshear and then following anyone she follows with HBD in their name to get started with. x

Micemice · 05/02/2023 20:20

Hello just finding your thread and jumping on as I start HBD in the morning -I started a thread yesterday but no replies! I must get onto Instagram too for a bit of inspiration- how are you all getting on this week?

crazysausagespart2 · 06/02/2023 09:45

I managed 15 days of phase 1 and 2 and then fell off the bandwagon. I'm so upset with myself for not having the willpower. So today I am back starting phase 2 again. I will be strict except for having tea and coffee between meals. I know that isn't ideal but I also need to find a way to do the diet that is sustainable for me, and I need tea or coffee as a treat to stop me breaking the diet with food. I love this diet and it is effective but I want to stick at it...

Do you think this is an ok way to move forward with itv

Sounds faddy, like all the rest of them.

WeekendInTheBoondocks · 06/02/2023 09:55

This just sounds like any other ‘diet plan’, restrictive and dull, I’m not seeing anything particularly ground breaking about it Confused

Micemice · 06/02/2023 16:13

Sounds good to me, 15 days is great, well done your did the most hard bit !!
i know as others say it is restrictive, it definitely is but it’s claim to help with blood sugars and wards off sugar addiction is what interests me.I have been on a medication that has made me pile on the weight and actively crave sugar like crazy , first thing in morning , middle of night etc so I’m hoping this will help. It’s gona be a tough few weeks but here’s hoping it helps .good luck!

lemontova · 06/02/2023 18:03

Phase 1 & 2 is the hardest bit, but the fasting between meals is really important. If you're still having tea and coffee then I would just crack on and go into phase 3. It's not doing strict HBD so you won't get the same results, but you'll still be feeling loads better and losing weight which has got to be good for you! Have you tried drinking hot water instead of tea/coffee? It's a bit boring but I have got to like it. The tea/coffee between meals is something Petronella says to kick, because it breaks your fast, and psychologically it's a slippery slope from just a cup of tea to just a cup of tea and just one biscuit. But if you can't you can't, and maybe in summer when it's warmer you might try again and find it easier to just drink water.

When I'm sticking to it, after a couple of days I stop wanting the snacks and stuff, but it just takes one deviation from the rules to feel like it's all negotiable then I find it harder to get back into the routine!

Micemice · 07/02/2023 21:01

@lemontova what about sugar free gum are you allowed to chew that? And soya sauce? Both in phase 2 I mean

Swimswam · 07/02/2023 21:08

No food or any kind between meals. Only plain water.

lemontova · 07/02/2023 22:35

Soy sauce has gluten. Try tamari!

dudsville · 07/02/2023 22:46

Off for a google, peace making to see how you all get on!

Catspyjamas17 · 08/02/2023 11:46

Nothing wrong with gluten unless you are actually allergic to it.

Butterflyface2023 · 09/10/2023 23:16

This is so good to read! I really want to try it. Is that right that yoghurt isn’t allowed in phase 2? this is so good to read! I really want to try it. Is that right that yoghurt isn’t allowed?

Marti7 · 22/01/2024 07:52

Hi, I’m starting The Human Being Diet today and like you have been looking for a Facebook group where people share tips, ideas, etc but cannot locate one.
curious if there is one? I’d happily create a group if it’s allowed.

Oneearringlost · 22/01/2024 08:35

Is it sustainable though?

Ginthing · 25/01/2024 01:33

Couple of days behind you. Anticipate getting started at the weekend. How are you doing?

Missingmyusername · 25/01/2024 03:22

Passpass · 13/01/2023 20:30

I thought this was about cannibalism!

Me too, it’s 3am after all 😂
