Is anyone else doing this? I started on Saturday (a little later than my planned 1st Jan start as I was skiing). So today I completed my first day of the 14 day phase 2.

I took the salts on Saturday but they didn't kick in until the evening so kids bedtime was fun.

I ate vegetables all weekend, drank black tea and coffee.

Today I have had:
B - Blueberries and Greek yogurt
L - Spicy mince with mushrooms, peppers and salad with ACV
D - 2 egg omelette with mushrooms and peppers and some cucumber and dessert was steamed apple sprinkled with cinnamon.

I have been sipping on fruit tea through the day (which I think is allowed).

I weighed in this morning and have lost 4 1/2 pounds so far - 148.8lbs starting weight and now am 144.5. So we will see how the weigh ins go...

Honestly I don't feel hungry, if I was to snack now it would be because of boredom rather than hunger which is why I'm planning to take myself to bed soon.

I'm really hoping to keep this up and complete all the phases but I would love to have a buddy? Is anyone else on the HBD wagon?

I had a bit of a stall in P2 which seems very unusual. However I pressed on and the weight loss restarted. I am only weighing every couple of weeks, but finding being able to fit into clothes just as motivational. After 2 months on it I've lost just over a stone which is less than many, but I'm happy with a steady weight loss as I'm more likely to keep it off. I'm getting a bit bored of my lunches now so need to change it up a bit. Have overdosed on smoked mackerel as I find it more filling than tuna or eggs. Good luck 🤞

Thanks so much @LBMCR - yes that pretty much describes my food plan. And sorry last question , how much on average do you think you lost per week/month on p3? And are you on p4 now? X

I lost around 7 lb in P2, then nothing for the first few weeks of P3 then around 2 lbs a week for the rest of the time I spent in P3. I lost 23 lbs overall from mid Feb to mid May. I then went on holiday so had a week more relaxed, came back did a week of P3 to counteract and have been in P4 a few weeks. I haven’t made many changes yet other than at weekends having a splash of milk in my morning coffee and have started to do some weight training. I am pretty happy with my weight loss though as this is the first diet/lifestyle change since turning 42 where I have actually lost any weight. I should probably lose another stone to be ‘ideal weight’ but I want this to be sustainable too

Fluffywithteeth · 08/06/2024 13:09

Thanks both @potkettle1 and @LBMCR - that is really good to hear. Yes I was suing to dh that the pain /payoff ratio on this diet plan is much better than any other I’ve done so if I think overall it’s pretty good. Hopefully the scales will start moving again soo! Have a lovely weekend 😊

Fluffywithteeth · 14/06/2024 07:26

Phew! At last the scales are moving again. Down 1kg to 66.2 - feeling relieved! Hope everyone is ok and looking forward to the weekend x

Fluffywithteeth · 21/06/2024 07:28

Down 0.9kg to 65.3 even with moving house and a corporate dinner - happy with that. Another 3-5 to go!

That’s great! I’m glad it’s working for you. I lost another 1kg a few weeks into P4 which I was really pleased with as I had been a little more relaxed (stuck to P3 mon to Friday and weekends treat meals both days)

Z0rr0 · 22/06/2024 10:22

Hi all. Hope the OGs are still sticking to the plan and finding it working and the newer guys are enjoying the results.
So in P3 I was having a very slow gradual weight loss but I have been gradually slipping off the wagon, snacking more often and drinking more than I was and the weight loss stalled although I wasn't gaining.
But then last weekend was my birthday and I fell totally off the wagon.
So I started Monday on P2, no oil, sugar, grain, alcohol and that has pulled me back on track and I have lost 6lbs. (About 3 were regained weight.)
I'm aiming to stick with this until next Friday (when my folks are coming and we're going out for a late birthday dinner) so 11 days of P2 but hoping I can lose a couple more pounds and that should put me at nearly two stone down since the end of January.
Then aiming to return to P3 but being better about not snacking and not getting too into the GnTs again!
Hope you're all doing well and not getting tempted by ice creams and cold boozy drinks!

Fluffywithteeth · 22/06/2024 12:17

Well done @Z0rr0 for getting back on track . Sounds like you’ve done really well on your reset. Keep going!

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 22/06/2024 15:48

I’m still here, down nearly two stone since the end of February. I’ve still got about another to go but have had a few off days recently so have stalled a bit. I need to have a few good weeks before going away!

Sounds like you’re back on track @Z0rr0 and doing well @LBMCR and @Fluffywithteeth

I have realised how much better I feel physically and mentally when I stick to it. No upset stomachs and less depressed (I think the lower carb helps the mental health symptoms.)

Fluffywithteeth · 22/06/2024 17:36

It’s really true isn’t @ItsNotEasyBeingGreens - I had my 4th treat meal last night and it was the first time I did not go over the top - and I feel so much better for it!!!

I really need to get on top of that with the treat meals. I think it doesn’t help that it normally aligns with someone else being in charge - an event or something - but it’s not the best! I think I find it hard to let go of the chance to have something sweet too!

Fluffywithteeth · 23/06/2024 07:44

Yeah…. I think I place too much emphasis in the treat meal … when honestly I really like the food I have on plan … just like to have more of it and a glass of wine! X

Z0rr0 · 24/06/2024 09:15

Great work @ItsNotEasyBeingGreens with your two stone weight loss. I also have about another stone to lose.
Am annoyed with myself this morning because after holding out on my willpower all week, I had a 'just one can't hurt' moment yesterday and had a GnT and a couple of handfuls of snacks. 1lb back on this morning.
I know it will go but I hate that feeling of just being disappointed in yourself.
Anyway, I will stay on the P2 wagon until Friday and am hoping to be another 3lbs down by then. That will be 8lbs gone in the reset and put me on a half-stone landmark and a new low, with about 12lbs left to lose.
Also we're going to see Spirited Away on Saturday and there's a dress that I can't quite zip up which it would be amazing if I can wear. I think that might be too much to hope tho as when I've lost the weight it takes a while for the fat to redistribute around my body. But we'll see.
I'll keep you posted.
Congrats everyone on all your hard work and efforts. Keep going!

Z0rr0 · 24/06/2024 09:20

Oh also I made a couple of new salads recently (I'm not great at being arsed to make interesting food for just me like they do on Insta).
So I just did 80g of chickpeas in 40g of hummus as my protein and that was surprisingly tasty (if you like chickpeas!).
I've been doing a can of tuna mixed with avocado in lieu of mayo for a while, and last week I added a few squirts of sriracha and that was also much tastier than just the tuna avo mush!
Anyone else got some good recipes they've enjoyed?

Fluffywithteeth · 24/06/2024 15:34

Oh yes I’d love some recipe inspo!
my favourite salad:

  1. smoked mackerel
  2. chopped red cabbage
  3. beetroot
  4. cucumber
  5. apple
  6. acv and evoo and lots of pepper
I think I’m actually addicted to this. inwant to make the chick pea flat breads but need to do when I can think about something new. I like the aubergine caponata a poster on instagram did… recipe Aubergine Caponata
ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 25/06/2024 21:09

I’m not a good cook but find the chickpea flatbreads nice and easy, 80g of flour mixed with about 125 - 150 ml of water. I throw dried herbs / spice / salt in too - whatever I fancy.

Fry them each side using the olive oil.

Then I make an avocado / slaw / whatever leaves I have salad, maybe with a little ACV, and kind of scoop it up with the flatbreads.

Hello everyone I have read the whole thread as I am starting tomorrow! 😬 Main aims are to stop sugar cravings, improve gut health and hopefully lose some weight alongside it. Ideally 1.5st.
well done to everyone on their achievements I really hope I have the same willpower! Any helpful suggestions welcome. Thank you!

Fluffywithteeth · 27/06/2024 15:19

Oh amazing @Shattereddreamsparkway ! I hope you find it as positive as I am finding it. Doing my weigh in tomorrow!

Shattereddreamsparkway · 27/06/2024 20:47

Thank you! @Fluffywithteeth good luck with the weigh in!

Fluffywithteeth · 28/06/2024 07:43

Ah - no movement in the scale this week. But not totally surprising - have overdone the chocolate and underdone the walking! I’m also really struggling with constipation… never experienced this until this diet. What do others do? X

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 28/06/2024 16:16

I’m not sure @Fluffywithteeth but there was a live that PR did about it not long ago - on her grid. I think some recommendations of supplements etc!

GAAGIRL · 30/06/2024 05:04

I’ve just read through all the posts and planing to start HBD in a couple of hours, I’m going to concentrate on the health benefit to hopefully stop me fixating on the weight loss, can’t sleep tonight, so I’m hoping that improves over time… I just noticed there’s another chat, gonna have to read that one too 😂

I didn’t have that side effect so can’t speak from personal experience but I think the book recommends magnesium citrate supplements if you do. Or you could I guess do an Epsom salt reset 🤮 and see if that helps!

Shattereddreamsparkway · 30/06/2024 13:44

Good luck @GAAGIRL I’m on day 1 of phase 2 and have found it surprisingly very easy so far - I know this will change in a few days in a couple of days though so have just enjoyed not feeling too hungry 😂

GAAGIRL · 30/06/2024 17:32

@Shattereddreamsparkway so far so good 😊, made the spring vegetable soup, it was quite nice , I’d been dreading it, but it wasn’t bad 😂
