Here is the new thread. Thanks for the title @theHoneyBadger.

Weighed in at 8st12.5 this morning, 0.25 down from the beginning of August. No specific aim for me other than to eat a bit more healthily cause I've had a wierd lurgy the last few days, not covid have tested several times. Love September cause it always feels like a new beginning.

Good morning and here's to a good September.

I am miraculously 12st 1 this morning. That is a total loss of 4.7 lbs for August. Not bad really.

I hade pizza and gin on Saturday night, and my weight in Pringles and chocolate on Sunday. Yesterday I went out with DH for lunch and had a huge scone with jam and clotted cream. I do expect there to be some upward movement from this at some point. But for now I have a strong focus to keep losing.

NutellaEllaElla · 31/08/2021 11:13

Thank you for the new thread. I was officially back on the wagon yesterday and back into my routine now.

WATER WATER WATER

FlatteredFool · 31/08/2021 11:15

Thanks for the new thread. Here's to a great Autumn. I'm 66kg dead on this morning.

TheHoneyBadger · 31/08/2021 13:00

Smile Octopus. I do need to get serious. Just voluntarily did a seminar on Ofsted's Research Review of my subject area and took a ton of notes that I've offered to share with colleagues or just write up a summary of the key implications. My brain feels slightly back in gear now.

Back to work tomorrow. That should add in a few more steps at least and reduce opportunities for daytime drinking Blush therefore reducing calories too.

NutellaEllaElla · 31/08/2021 14:20

Carrying over from the last thread, i've been on a bit of clothes shopping splurge recently. I dug out the "How to look expensive" threads Grin and i've booked a seamstress to help tailor some dresses which gape at the chest etc. Very impulsive spending from me but i've felt really good when i've actually put some effort into my outfits. I honestly think clothes make a massive difference to confidence. Bras are a perpetual problem but there's nothing I can do about that unless I literally start sewing my own underwear and that ain't about to happen.

LBB2020 · 31/08/2021 14:29

Thank you for the new thread Smile
I’m back on it again today and I’m actually glad about it as I did feel quite bloated and yuck over the weekend!
DS2 turns one in September so I am giving myself a big push this month to drop a few lbs at least! I do think breastfeeding is stopping me from shifting this last bit of baby weight (that and the poor sleep!). I’m really going to try to get in at least 2 exercise videos a week this month too!

NutellaEllaElla · 31/08/2021 16:18

Day 2 back on the wagon going well. I haven't logged for ages so here we go:
B: Yoghurt
L: Chicken noodle soup
D: Spag bol
S: mini stroopwaffel, smal cakey thing

Almost there with the water target too. I'll go for a walk after work, what a grey day though. Eugh.

Octopus37 · 31/08/2021 20:58

@NutellaEllaElla might be a silly question but have you ever tried Boob or Bust or Bravissimo. It could be that you're a bigger cup size and a smaller back size than you think, could make all the difference to getting bras that fit well. I am a size 8/10 on top and wear a 30DD.

OP posts:
NutellaEllaElla · 31/08/2021 21:30

Yeah, I was remeasured at Bravissimo recently and have the ridiculous (to me) bra size of 28GG. And i'm fussy about the front middle bit, I don't like it to be too big so basically i've snookered myself into one make and model of bra that resembles an over the shoulder boulder holder. Not the prettiest of sights. I hate boobs and bras and underwear manufacturers.

Thanks though (sorry for the rant back! 🤣)

Octopus37 · 31/08/2021 21:49

Agree bra shopping can be a real pain. Got measured at Bravissimo a few years back and they put me in a 28F cause I'm bigger on one side (thanks breastfeeding), hard to get the perfect fit cause of that. I find a 28 a bit tight so tend to size up a back size. The whole thing can be tedious. Enjoy the rest of your clothes shopping

I'm going to join, if that's okay, although I have a long weekend away this weekend coming!

I have bought a fit bit and I am going to walk more. I am going to drink more water. I have also signed up to an online exercise class and will try to do an exercise class a day. Will also give the dog more walks. I will try to reduce takeaways and chocolate.

I wfh permanently and I find this is making me lazy / making me snack a lot.

I get motivation from other people and having buddies, so hope to get motivation from here.

FlatteredFool · 01/09/2021 00:06

A little over on food today thanks to a trip out but I did walk 2 miles to the station and back and spent 80 minutes in the pool. Not swimming as such as was with ds but active in the water all the same so I'm not fussing about the chip butty, coke and magnum. Forgot that they are chocolate and I'm supposed to be giving that up. Ah well, it was still August and it was our last day out together of the summer. So here we are, 1 minute past midnight and we are into September. I like this time of year with the nights drawing in and the coziness. The sunny crisp autumn days and the beautiful colours. The smell in the air. Then there's the Christmas preparations, Halloween, bonfire night. I've already done a lot of Christmas shopping this year. I love all the seasons but autumn has a certain romance to it I think.

FlatteredFool · 01/09/2021 00:11

@listentomydeclaration welcome! Being at home is a constant temptation when it comes to snacking for me. I find I'm motivated by others on here too so I hope you find us all helpful. I love my Fitbit. I get very competitive with myself and love seeing the steps rack up. I play Fitbit bingo with some others from mumsnet and that's a real motivator. August was a washout for me but I'm back in the swing of things now.

Aim is 62kg by the end of September.

LBB2020 · 01/09/2021 08:36

Sounds like you had a good day @FlatteredFool. Welcome @listentomydeclaration Smile I dug out my Fitbit the other week and it definitely helps motivate me to move more!
An ok day yesterday although I did have a small piece of leftover cake from the weekends celebrations, but we went to a local National Trust so did lots of walking.
I can’t believe we’re in September, this year has gone surprisingly fast!

Octopus37 · 01/09/2021 08:53

Welcome @listentomydeclaration. I'm another September lover here, it always feels like a real new start. My youngest Son is starting High School on Friday so this one feels like a big deal. Love the leaves falling etc and also like the fact that you can still get some hot days.

NutellaEllaElla · 01/09/2021 09:16

Welcome welcome. I like the days I work from home as I can go for walks before/after work but the snacking temptation can be difficult. It helps me to have small low cal treats to satisfy the craving that mostly comes out of boredom. Water does fill me up a surprising amount.

I'm hiding away in a clinic room today with no access to treats. That serves me right.

LadyDanburysHat · 01/09/2021 09:40

Welcome @listentomydeclaration

I'm so annoyed at myself. I ate so well yesterday, then self sabotaged when DS2 was at football practice. I took myself to the supermarket and bought a packet of cookies and ate nearly all of them. Anyway, I'm going to ignore that blip, and I'm joining the gym today.

Still 12st 1 today.

Phoenixrising2020 · 01/09/2021 09:43

Hello! Am 10 stones 13lbs this morning and ridiculously pleased to be under 11 stones at long last. Would love to be 10 stones 7lbs by the end of this month. We'll done everyone for starting.

FlatteredFool · 01/09/2021 09:44

65.95kg this morning. My last lazy morning before the chaos of school tomorrow. Have a good day everyone Smile

NutellaEllaElla · 01/09/2021 10:29

Congratulations @Phoenixrising2020, what a great milestone! I bet that feels good Smile

LBB2020 · 01/09/2021 10:46

Well done @Phoenixrising2020 great start to the month!

Phoenixrising2020 · 01/09/2021 11:30

Thanks Ella and LBB, I have been trying hard to lose weight for ages. I was ill yesterday with a bad back and hey presto, I lost 2lbs! It must have been because it was a struggle to get to the kitchen 😁.

LadyDanburysHat · 01/09/2021 11:41

Great news @Phoenixrising2020. Dropping into the next stone is always such a boost.

Octopus37 · 01/09/2021 16:12

Well done @Phoenixrising2020

Welcome listen - sounds like you have a plan! You've also reminded me to drink water. I filled my jug then left it downstairs.
