Here is the new thread. Thanks for the title @theHoneyBadger.

Weighed in at 8st12.5 this morning, 0.25 down from the beginning of August. No specific aim for me other than to eat a bit more healthily cause I've had a wierd lurgy the last few days, not covid have tested several times. Love September cause it always feels like a new beginning.

So impressive Grin

TheHoneyBadger · 03/09/2021 08:28

Grin Resisting the warm pain au chocolat was a challenge. I will do the same today.

Hope your back eases - knees to chest and rock side to side and around in circles? Sometimes just massages out the knots a bit and eases things.

Phoenixrising2020 · 03/09/2021 09:06

Good morning! I must be readjusting somewhere because I have eaten quite a lot of bread and I am now 10 stones 12lbs. Thanks for this thread, it is very motivating.

LadyDanburysHat · 03/09/2021 09:57

@TheHoneyBadger I would really struggle to resist cakes and pastries. Working from home, makes life a bit easier in some ways.

12sst 0.5 this morming. Slowly creeping to that 11. I will be jumping for joy when I finally get there. I think it will also make my goal seem closer.

listentomydeclaration · 03/09/2021 10:43

Away for the weekend so having a break from healthy eating etc but I've bought a Fitbit and signed up to an online exercise class. It looks a bit too fast TBH - even the beginner level Sad

FlatteredFool · 03/09/2021 11:34

We are away today until tomorrow so my calorie allowance will go out of the window. I'm up to 15000 steps already today though so at least I'm active and I look at the average for the week to allow for the odd extra.

NutellaEllaElla · 03/09/2021 12:05

Enjoy your breaks! We're off to a Michelin starred restaurant as a belated birthday gift to DH from his parents. I'm actually not too worried about calories though as they serve tiny portions....

LBB2020 · 03/09/2021 15:22

An ok day for me yesterday. DS2 and I have both come down with a cold so sleep was minimal last night! I caved and had a hot chocolate with cream on top at the farm this morning hopefully all the walking cancels it out Grin

FlatteredFool · 03/09/2021 23:55

Get well soon @LBB2020 Thanks
2200 calories in today but I've walked 33,000 steps/13.5 miles and burnt 3150 calories according to my Fitbit so I'm ok with eating more than my allowance. Daily average is 1400 calories so I'm not beating myself up. I'd normally really berate myself and I'm pleased I'm not. Progress. Sad how much we learn to hate our bodies and hunger.

Phoenixrising2020 · 04/09/2021 02:01

I have failed. I ate loads of bread and some cakes. I am so fed up. 'D'H has to leavhe for work at 8am, he has left the kitchen in a total state and I need to do the weekend's food shopping before I go. I don't want to weigh myself in the morning. I will do, but please be supportive, I was doing well. I just got too hungry and I lost control. I have also stopped smoking and I have been really proud of myself. I am so disappointed.

Gizzy93 · 04/09/2021 02:04

Hi, I hope I can join!
I weight 90kg, the heaviest I've ever weighed.
I asked my DF if we can start trying if I lose 20kg. He said, if I can then we can try even if we haven't bought a house. So, time to get serious!
Just want to note: he doesn't care if I lose weight or not. He knows how badly I want to and is being supportive by giving me motivation.

Gizzy93 · 04/09/2021 02:06

@Phoenixrising2020 you haven't failed! Just keep going with your weight loss like you didn't slip up. Easier said then done, I know.
Quitting smoking is amazing!! You should be so proud of that!

Phoenixrising2020 · 04/09/2021 02:25

Thanks Gizzy. We'll done for joining the thread and making a start. You can do this.

I will weigh myself in a few hours and carry on. I have also found out that close friends have been gossiping about me and my sense of wellbeing is affected and I feel a bit paranoid. But onwards and upwards! I will work extra hard tomorrow.

I will post and pray when temptation strikes.

Gizzy93 · 04/09/2021 04:52

Oh, sorry to hear that @Phoenixrising2020! Not very nice of them at all.
I hope you find new friends who don't gossip about you!

Phoenixrising2020 · 04/09/2021 05:22

Thanks Gizzy, they're lifelong friends unfortunately, but I am going to rise above it. The best revenge is to live well! I suppose I'm going to have to weigh myself soon. Oh well, 10 more minutes might shave half a pound off!

NutellaEllaElla · 04/09/2021 06:39

Wow well done on all your exercise @FlatteredFool you've walked so much I think you'd be feeling rough if you ate any less tbh.

@Phoenixrising2020 don't beat yourself up, Gizzy is right. Consistency is what matters and it seems that more often than not, you've been doing really well. Plus quitting smoking is a big deal to be doing at the same time. As Jordan Syatt says - you can't fuck this up, you can have blips, you can have massive blips, but if you get back on the wagon tomorrow. Doing well 80% of the time is enough. You might be surprised by the scales but if they do show in increase, it'll ONLY be water weight, honestly, one snafoo does not equal fat gain.

Welcome @Gizzy93! I don't understand what you're saying about buying or not buying a house Blush. Are you planning to follow any kind of regime or plan for weight loss? I'm always curious about how people go about it.

NutellaEllaElla · 04/09/2021 06:48

@Phoenixrising2020 if it helps to reveal that I saw half a stone increase on the scales earlier this week. I could really say I fucked up, or I could say that I had an erm.... unscheduled diet break for the whole of August Grin. Since March last year, i've lost and maintained 2 stone per my target. I'm back on it now, lets have a short memory and keep looking forward Smile

Phoenixrising2020 · 04/09/2021 06:55

Thanks Nutella! I have thyroid disease and my weight fluctuations can be severe. Still, it's a marathon and not a sprint.

I have just weighed myself and I'm 10 stones 13lbs and 8 ounces. It could be worse. I am still under 11 stones and I will do better today. My new mantra when I am feeling piled on is that the best revenge is to live well.

Hope everyone else has a good day 🙂.

Octopus37 · 04/09/2021 07:42

Welcome @Phoenixrising2020 and @Gizzy93, @TheHoneyBadger that is amazing restraint with the pastries, theres no wayI would have managed that. 8st12.25 this morning.

FlatteredFool · 04/09/2021 08:02

Morning all and welcome new people! I can't believe ds was up before 7.30 when he didn't get to bed until gone 11pm. 😩
@Phoenixrising2020 are you restricting too much as that can cause blips I've found? I know a lot of people aim for 1200 calories or less but I've found that this leads to me being really hungry and craving less than healthy foods. My allowance is 1500 calories a day. I find that much more manageable. Slow and steady is more likely to result is sustained weight loss. Congratulations on quitting smoking, that's amazing!

sparklyglitterball · 04/09/2021 08:14

Morning all, hope everyone has some nice plans for the weekend 😊 it's always the time I struggle with the most. Can be so sensible all week then any weight I've lost goes back on over the weekend! Very frustrating but am aiming to try and break that cycle. @FlatteredFool that's an incredible step count!! A few more calories was needed. @Phoenixrising2020 and @Gizzy93 welcome and good luck. I'm trying to get motivated to head out for a run now, then need to make a picnic as we're all off out for the day with mil. Dh abd the dc will all have sandwiches/pittas etc but I'm trying to cut down on bread so will make a salad. Which tbh I prefer, as I find sandwiches very bloating.

Phoenixrising2020 · 04/09/2021 09:48

Thanks Ella, that really helps. I think short memories are important in this situation. It's so easy to frame thoughts negatively.

Hi Flattered, I find that I think of myself as greedy and I feel ashamed, it makes me even worse. At least if I limit I feel as though I am making an effort. I have so many issues with food and I am getting support but it's so hard. I keep trying to remember that it's a marathon rather than a sprint but it's hard. I get so impatient and then the friendship issue made it worse. Never mind, onwards and upwards.

Thank you for the support and the welcome too Sparkly. Have a great day everyone.

Gizzy93 · 04/09/2021 11:37

@NutellaEllaElla we were going to wait until we bought a house to have a baby, but we've decided once I lose the weight we'll start trying, whether we've been able to buy or not.

Thanks everyone. Need some motivation! I'm planning on just calorie counting

NutellaEllaElla · 04/09/2021 18:30

Ah I get it, well there's some rather large motivation for you!

So far so good today. It was my plan to treat the weekend the same as a normal weekday food wise and I have. I've also walked 10 miles and cycled to do a local chore instead of driving.

B: Yoghurt
L: Chicken noodle soup
D: Meatball garlic bread tray bake
S: Halo top gooey chocolate brownie ice cream (so good), couple of french fancies, couple of mini Reese's and a chocolate biscuit.

FlatteredFool · 04/09/2021 21:27

Eeek I'm into the red today with too much food and lack of exercise. Daily average is 1530 calories though so as long as I am sensible tomorrow it should be a successful week and after all that walking yesterday (a fair bit of it carrying a heavy rucksack) then I'm just not beating myself up about enjoying holiday food on our last trip of the summer.
