Hello

Just where has August gone? People who joined the thread last month are reporting significant losses 👏👍🥇. In 4 short weeks I myself lost 9lbs.

Do you too want to lose weight? Feel fitter? Get healthier? Feel happier?

You’ve come to the right place!

Me personally? In the main it’s been a way of life for nearly 3 years and I’ve lost over 40lbs. I had a bit of blip at the start of C19. After all my hard work I just started eating with impunity. Before I knew it I was10lbs up in a few short weeks! I needed to get back on it and COVID proof myself 😬 I calorie count, log via MFP app, Intermittent fast, eat-low carb Mediterranean style aka Fast800 Plan and try to stay well hydrated.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with lite weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on this thread. We are in this together.

How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

Jump in 😊. You’ll be glad you did this time next month 😀.

Thank you *@TheRealHousewife. I always get very excited whenever anyone name checks me and praise and encouragement always mean and help such a lot.

I just checked my BMI from when I started running back in May and today's weight and while both say overweight still I have gone from a BMI of 29.3 in May to 26.8. Not that I understand the numbers and weight wise I have lost 15.2 lbs.

Today I ran 10.19km then walked 3.38km with my dog. None stop since I've been back and now I'm going to get more hoovering and tidying done.

Dinner will be backed potato with mushrooms and maybe a small bit of cheese. Hadn't planned and found the spuds in the pantry so glad to not waste them.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

TheRealHousewife · 29/09/2020 08:04

You have done great @SunshineCake! That deserves acknowledgement. I hate wasting food too! Today I’m using up fridge gravel (leftovers). I have some guacamole, broccoli & cauli rice, and beef goulash. Small portions so will have for lunch. It’s roast fish & veg for evening meal.

I don’t get alerts when my username is tagged as I don’t often log into the registered email account. I’ve asked MN to help and in principle they said I should be able to assign another email account but it just doesn’t work. I might have another go as I’m sure I miss tags.

Just a couple of days left!

Just did c25K week 2 very out of puff.

Weighed in at 207 this morning so hopeful I'll maintain that for a 2lb loss this week.

Had toast for lunch as really fancied some bread so will need to have a very low carb dinner.

Currently job hunting as just will not be able to stand the situation at work long term, discussing options with different areas of the business to see if there are any internal vacancies or opportunities available as would prefer to not lose my years in service. It's all very stressful and finding the walk/jog cadence of c25K much more relaxing and therapeutic than cardio videos.

SunshineCake · 29/09/2020 16:43

I'm finding that when I'm stressed knowing I can run tomorrow is helpful. Not sure how or why really as I'm always happier when it is over than when I am running Grin.

Trisolaris · 30/09/2020 09:26

End of month stats!

59.9kg
Start of month 60.2kg

Not much progress this month in terms of loss but I feel much fitter and feel that there has been significant progress in terms of change from fat to muscle. I hope next month to see more of a loss.

moonbells · 30/09/2020 10:09
Galvantula · 30/09/2020 10:53

Wow update, 58.4 kg today.

Down from 59.2 at start of September and 60.3 at start of August.

Just need to keep on trucking.

I've never stayed below 58 for long yet, so if I can get there in October I'll be happy!

TheRealHousewife · 30/09/2020 11:12

Last WOW day of the month. Where has September gone? Flown by!

1/9 = 9st 2.
2/9 = 8st 13 (Posted to show how weight can fluctuate overnight)
9/9 = 9st 2
16/9 = 9st 2
23/9 = 9st
30/9 = 8st 13.

It’s isn’t sticking though. I’ve bounced the same 3lbs all month. I did take my eye of the ball due to a stressful time. I need to be consistent and do what I know works.

@FatGirlShrinking awesome progress! 🏅⭐️👏

Well done on everyones progress; be it losses, fitness and being consistent with your routines/plans.

Dunce of the class again. From September 1st to today, with no weighing in between I would be claiming a 2lb loss. Oh well.

Have to say, I'm still happy though. October 2018 I was a pound under 14 stone. Today I am 11 and a half stone.

I can now run 10km, I'm more than comfortably in size 12 jeans, a couple of bras that were too small are now good to wear and generally I feel happy and have some confidence for once. Also, the years of back pain I have suffered with has gone though my knees are sore from the running!

moonbells · 30/09/2020 14:36

You must have amazingly good muscles @SunshineCake given I'm a stone less than you, nearly 2" taller and only just manage to fit in the same dress size!

I must have a lot more fat than you, proportionally!

Great progress @SunshineCake!

Here’s my intermittent fasting figures for September. I love a visual aid 😬

I'm embarrassed. I've lost 2lb and *@FatGirlShrinking has posted a Monday loss of 13lbs!Star. Where am I going wrong??

*@moonbells no clue about muscles but I have lost measurable inches off my tummy and thigh. Have replied to your PM.

SunshineCake · 30/09/2020 16:42

I can't find that screen on mine *@TheRealHousewife Confused.

FatGirlShrinking · 30/09/2020 17:40

@SunshineCake I think a big part of my loss is the fact that I'm twice the size you are. I'm 94kg right now compared to your 58kg so there's just a lot more flab to burn and it's easier for me to eat a deficit of calories because carrying around more fat uses up more calories. My loss will level off and slow right down once I'm closer to a healthy weight and having to work harder for it.

SunshineCake · 30/09/2020 18:53

I'm working in stones and pounds and can't get to grips with kg, *@FatGirlShrinking. I also have started my period at just over 3 1/2 weeks late and I still haven't worked out how it changes my weight. In my head I should weigh less when it finishes but I'm not sure that always happens. I'm still delighting in being 11 stone something so even just 2lb a month off which stays off is a win for me. I was like a bloody yo-yo ans lost count of how many times I lost the same half stone.

Forgot to post my loss on Tuesday. 1lb down this week - felt a little disappointed. It's my sons birthday tomorrow so am going to allow myself a treat or two!!

TheRealHousewife · 02/10/2020 07:06

@SunshineCake try going to the App Store and see if there is an update for the Zero App. I updated mine about August time, so relatively recently.

I am using the fasting hours tracker and the picture is a plate with cutlery in a circle. Is that not the same as yours *@TheRealHousewife?

TheRealHousewife · 02/10/2020 15:46

Hi @SunshineCake it’s called Zero. It’s orange coloured. See pic.

Thanks *@TheRealHousewife. I have found it and installed it. I'm not sure I can transfer my last month of fasting but it doesn't really matter.
