Hi, here is a new thread, Excuse the ultra unoriginal title. Weighed in at 9st0.5, this morning, aim (as it has been for every month since March) is to get under 9st. Cannot believe we are in the second half of this year.

Morning!
Hangover You just have to ignore it - it will be water retention after the weekend. Did you drink any alcohol? As that often causes a few days of fluid retention for me now - not at all noticeable in my measurements but can show as me being a few lbs heavier on the scales for a few days after.
I feel that I'm back on track again now, which is a relief. I even managed to keep to my no snacking rule over the weekend too! I'm finding that knowing I can theoretically eat anything I want at the next meal is keeping any cravings at bay and I've not been feeling like I need or want anything sweet after meals

TheHoneyBadger · 07/07/2020 09:22

If the maths don’t add up then just carry on and it’ll resolve itself. Maybe rewatch the JS video on fluctuations.

I’m down another 0.6lbs so have actually 4.4lbs of that rapid loss of 5lb from fasting last week has been consolidated. Sorry for tmi but I haven’t had a bowel movement in a couple of days so hoping that accounts for at least a lb Grin

Just keeping on with at least 16 hours non eating windows and real food and low alcohol at the moment and awaiting imminent arrival of af.

Made tortilla and tons of veg last night and had a couple of red vermouth with slimline tonics.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 07/07/2020 09:56

According to my scales I've gained 5lbs this week. Hmm Doubt it, I'll weigh again in a few days.

B smoked salmon omelette
L soup and salad probably
D stuffed peppers and chicken breast

Heygirlheyboy · 07/07/2020 10:36

Wow lots of fluctuation going on, definitely ignore and weigh again in a few days I'm sure.

I'm down a pound since Fri but like that it seems a bit of a big jump in a short time but hope to hold onto it for this Fri. Currently 9st9.25lb
B Greek yoghurt, Strawberries, blueberries
L mushroom soup and chicken on sofa bread
D out for a meal

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/07/2020 11:53

I'm still up a couple of lbs too. It is frustrating but will see what it's like over time. It's DH's milestone birthday today so having a steak dinner, it's not actually bad calories wise. I just calculated it including oven potatoes/basically chips and it's around 500 cals.

B: Two yoghurts
L: Lamb hotpot soup
D: Steak and veg
S: There'll be cake.

Octopus37 · 07/07/2020 19:29

Well done Heygirl. Monstera, hope your DH has a good Birthday, enjoy. I'm eating quite a lot at the moment, quite low energy lots going on, same same. Will get on an even keel one of these days

Well done Hounds, Badger and Heygirl! You guys sound like you're on a roll!

Sorry to hear of all the fluctuations. And thank you all for snapping me out of my moaning about mine 🤣 feeling better about it now. Eaten 1200 for today and yesterday, and went for a 5k this evening after work.

B coffee & banana
L jacket, beans and salad
D small steak, tomato curry on the side, protein yogurt
S cuppa, marshmallow, 4 squares of choc

@Monstera Hope you've enjoyed a few birthday treats with you DH today
@Octopus37 sounds like your body needs what it needs. What about eating as much as you like but of really wholesome and nourishing foods?

Heygirlheyboy · 08/07/2020 09:26

Hangoverstruggles your food yesterday sounds great. Something I am managing these last few weeks which is amazing for me is having the sugar and staying/getting back on track and keeping within daily limit. I have the extra targets of 10k average steps per day which is doing me great good. And a weekly cal target of 14k burned. I've also downed by loss target to one pound rather than 1.5 which has massively upped my daily allowance so allows for some extra food days. Slow and steady now for me. Jordan S great for changing mindset.

TheHoneyBadger · 08/07/2020 09:28

Was all set for an early night and no more calories by about 6 yesterday but then got my arm twisted by ds to go to our bubble household as the kids wanted to see each other. Drank beers and then came home and ate a can of beans and sausages for some reason.

Up 1.8 pounds today but hopefully it’s not real weight just alcohol and late night eating.

Will have a long no eating window and eat sensibly this evening and see what tomorrow brings. Still awaiting period. Will probably come this afternoon when I’m in work Hmm

HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/07/2020 10:50

Morning. I hate it when that happens Badger. You think you're all done for the day then boom, 500 extra cals in an instant.

B smoked salmon omelette
L dunno. Soup I guess. Shop coming today and totally out of salad bits. Though beans and sausages does appeal....
D veggie pasta bake

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/07/2020 17:44

Hey everyone, how are we doing? I'm feeling a bit of a collective funk? Keep going. Developing healthy habits through the rough and the smooth...

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/07/2020 17:51

For me today:
B: Two yoghurts
L: Lamb hotpot soup
D: Macaroni and cauliflower cheese
S: 1 Galaxy truffle, Fibre one cake bar
Will come in at around 1400 calories today. I'm still 2lbs up which could be from increasing my calories which sucks a bit as I should still be in a calories deficit but i will keep going and see what happens. I'm trying to look for a trend over time rather than obsessing on the minutiae too much...

HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/07/2020 18:50

Is that the Asda soup Monstera? It's really nice isn't it?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/07/2020 18:54

No I made it myself, inspired by the Asda soup Grin

Hangoverstruggles · 08/07/2020 18:54

Hi everyone!

@Monstera sounds sensible. It's so hard not to obsess on the numbers each day. I've had a word with myself after my general fuckedoffness this week. Like you, i want to be able to increase my cals a bit to maintain. I watched Jordan Syatt vids on fluctuation & also macros. He's so good & straight talking. I'm roughly keeping to 1200 this week as having a bbq on Sunday plus want to lose the 'gain'...

Does anyone here track macros? I've looked back over my MFP logs and I'm def a carb fiend. Going to try to boost my protein % up to see if it helps curb the snacking tendencies! Not easy because DH is veggie so we eat a lot of veggie meals.

B coffee, 6 chocolate fingers 😁
L weetabix, berries, banana, protein yogurt
D small steak, tomato salad, new potatoes
S chunk of cheese, cracker, tea, 2 hard boiled eggs

Apparently that is 1200

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/07/2020 19:02

Breakfast of champions there @Hangoverstruggles Grin

Heygirlheyboy · 08/07/2020 19:17

That's it exactly Monstera. For me it's actually eating more good stuff which helps. My chilli this evening, a really decent portion is less than 300 and so filling. Rice extra.
B:two scrambled eggs with tomatoes and peppers
L: Bread roll with butter, ham (never knew so low cal!) and salad
D: chilli and rice with cheese and sourcream
Less than 1200, will leave it at that tonight as completely full and need early night anyway.
12k steps.

Heygirlheyboy · 08/07/2020 19:22

Hangoverstruggles how you kept to six I don't know!! Grin

I don't bother with macros but using the tyre site I opted for the high carb cutting cals option and allows you plenty of carb. I'm the same need them to feel satisfied. Will attach my guideline to give you an idea. I don't even hit that carb amount.

July Jumping Down the Scales
Hangoverstruggles · 08/07/2020 20:41

@Heygirlheyboy ooh just looked at that and it's really similar to what I calculated from the Jordan Syatt vid. 100g of protein seems a lot to fit in! Might pay attention to it for a couple of days & see if I feel any better for it.

The chocolate fingers were awesome 😁 a portion of 4 is 104 cals, I'm amazed I only had 6 to be honest!

Heygirlheyboy · 08/07/2020 20:51

My sister needed two boxes once to make a cake and went through nine boxes before the birthday arrived GrinBlush

Yes I just look at the end of the day really once have inputted my meals and it gives me an idea going forward so eg jm5not afraid of my sofa bread, potatoes etc. In bed now with a book, rain lashing :)

TheHoneyBadger · 08/07/2020 20:52

Busy day. Have already hit my calorie burn target. Had one big meal in the evening of about 700 cals at most and whiskey and tonic. Probably won’t have any more calories as I’m knackered.

Still no period. I sound obsessed but I’m always relieved when it’s come because the pre menstrual time is my most at risk of falling off the wagon.

Hang in there everyone.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/07/2020 21:06

Can I have some data help?

My TDEE is 1949.
My BMR is 1624.
My weight loss is (1949-500=) 1449.

I aim to eat 1200 a day (usually more like 1300)
I do, according to my fitness tracking app, between 3500-3800 of exercise a week.

So, that's a deficit of... 1949-1300= 649 X 7 = 4543 + 3650 = 8193 cals a week.

So if it's about 3500 cals per 1lb loss. That's 2.3lbs a week, right?

So if I actually stick to 1200 a day, that's an extra 700 cals a week, so loss of 2.5lbs a week.

Argh. Is any of this data actually reliable?! Confused

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/07/2020 21:12

Well the proof will be in the pudding I guess!

Hangoverstruggles · 08/07/2020 21:30

@honey yes it should be a simple as that! Although I find some weeks I stick to it religiously and lose nothing, but then might have a better loss the following week!

I'd also be careful with the exercise tracking as apparently lots of apps over-egg the amount of cals. I have no idea though. If I run 5k it says I've burnt 350 cals which I don't believe is true.

Hangoverstruggles · 08/07/2020 21:32

Good work Badger!
