Hi, here is a new thread, Excuse the ultra unoriginal title. Weighed in at 9st0.5, this morning, aim (as it has been for every month since March) is to get under 9st. Cannot believe we are in the second half of this year.

Morning! 133.6lbs this morning so I managed to salvage a slight 2lb loss in June in the end. Goal for July is 130 or just under, although I am going to need to be ON IT!

PT done this morning, i think she is trying to kill me.

How is it July already?!?!?!

Thank you Octopus.

I am now where I was at the end of January, and I have to remind myself I was very pleased with that and so I hope in 5/6 weeks I can't get back to where I was early March.
B: cool boiled with lemon, ONO, black coffee, stuffed
L: Chicken, avocado salad
D: Sweet chilli chicken veg noodles.

10k steps.

Thanks Octopus! Welcome to July!

I weighed 10st 1 this morning so gives me a 5lb loss for June, 15lb overall since staring mid April. Pleased I'm tracking to what I was aiming - a steady 1lb loss each week.

Aim for July is to get to 10st and maintain it. We have something on every weekend in July, all involving eating, including a weekend away at the end of the month. Hoping to find the balance of having fun versus not undoing all my hard work!

Plan: Eat 1300 cals Monday - Friday, and not worry too much at the weekends. Run 3-4 times a week plus some core strength exercises at home.

Personal goal is to be able to do ONE proper press up Grin I seem to have no upper body strength! Can only on knee ones.

💪🏻

Well done Hangover, fantastic loss!!

Hi everybody and thank for your support when things aren't quite going to plan. I am maintaining or losing a little at the moment, but the problem is belly flab. I can't seem to shift it - I do plank, sit-ups and twists every day and also walk at least 3km when the weather is decent.

Any ideas on how to shift it will be welcome Smile

Congratulations @Hangoverstruggles, I can't do a proper press up either. It's ridiculous how hard it is for me compared to my DH who can go from not having done one in months to doing several. I'd have to train myself for months!

@RaraRachael Sorry, got no tips. I think it's impossible to spot reduce fat aside from surgery, right?!

Hangover I've got a friend who's a personal trainer and she says that the knee version will never train you for a full press-up. Apparently, the best option is to do a full press up but with your hands on a bench or a couple of stairs or something like that. You train the same muscles that way. I must say that since I've been following her advice, I can now do quite a few proper press-ups, when I always found them impossible before.

I'm feeling positive today and determined that I will be back to my pre-lockdown prime by the end of the month!
Hey You looked lovely and slim in the photos you posted on the middle-aged thread! Smile

Ah thanks Hounds, I am a total pear and bmi now 'overweight', a pound a week or even a half pound would be great. I do feel moving daily helping greatly.

Welcome Parisonwheels!

Yes I trained doing counter push ups first to be able to do push-ups. You can hold the right form that way. I’m not even going to try to do a push up now, I know I wouldn’t be able to.

Hangover that’s great, well done.

Goals for July are to keep not having beer in the house and to only have it outside of the house on a very rare occasion.

I’m a bit loathe to make goals for fear of failure.

Keep active, have long fast windows followed by healthy eating most days and followed by very low cal meal some days. Eg 5:2ish but at least 16:8 on most other days.

If at the end of this month I haven’t lost at least 3lbs then I’m going to need to go more drastic (calorie counting destroys me and makes me hungry and obsessed with food so I’m trying to avoid it if possible).

Entering the month at a horrifying 14:8.8

Hello Paris, welcome.

I can't do press ups either - I'm arthritic, especially in my wrists. I do lots of aerobics things, and just jog on the spot when they drop to floor things like pushups, planks, Burpees etc.

Honey I was 14,8 at the start of June, and now I'm 14,0. Don't despair, you can do it!

TheHoneyBadger · 01/07/2020 14:26

Thanks honey. I think you should be honey and I should be badger for clarity’s sake Grin

My loss has been really slow but I was way over 15st at one point and still seeming to be piling it on. I had a major op last year and a fair bit of being housebound but I was still shocked as I’d never been anywhere near that weight even in pregnancy.

I just need to keep going. Well done 8lbs in a month is huge. I don’t know about you but what can be discouraging at this size is losing half a stone or so you don’t really see the difference. I’m relying on measures like my heart rate and how I’m less out of breath when walking and things like that rather than seeing a difference in the mirror. Trying to focus on health.

Welcome @ParisOnWheels. Anyone can join but they have do bring a cake as part of their induction ritual Grin

Amazing work there @HoneysuckIejasmine, that's a fantastic loss for June, well done!

I tried learning to do push ups and got discouraged by my lack of progress. maybe i'll try again. Will look up counter push ups.

Cor I just ate a "Fibre One" Triple choc cake bar which is 88 cals, got it from Lidl and it is pretty epic! Excellent intense gooey chocolateyness. Noice.

Thanks for the welcome on the las thread. I want these lockdown Pounds off as quickly as possible then to tackle the rest Grin

It’s good to see other people’s successes, it helps keep me focused. That’s a good loss Honeysucklejasmine. I’m concentrating on drinking more water and not fixating on what I could be eating. I allow for treats in my diet and would be miserable without them but I’m realising it’s not the end of the world if I don’t eat a chocolate bar today, it will still be there tomorrow.

I'm finding it tough going today. It's my birthday and I really fancy a glass of red wine and a nice Spag Bol. It's weigh in day tomorrow and I'm swinging between staying strong and finding an excuse to cheat.

@Therunecaster it's your birthday today?!! I'd say have the wine. It's one day a year to treat yourself. I'm amazed you've been disciplined this far - my birthday was a write off for days!

Thanks for the welcome.

I realistically have about 9-10 stone to lose so this will be a very long job. My short term goal is 11lb by September(?)
