Hi, here is a new thread, Excuse the ultra unoriginal title. Weighed in at 9st0.5, this morning, aim (as it has been for every month since March) is to get under 9st. Cannot believe we are in the second half of this year.

Morning all and your holiday sounds lovely iggle.
9st 6.25 this morning, I'm back on it Smile So interesting re effect of cycle time, that has definitely influenced my loss over last month. So that's exactly a month of me making planned effort with steps and cals, have gone from 9st 11.25 in that time. Thanks to this thread really. Helps a lot. Little one's birthday here today so I've had a healthy breakfast and will have my nice salads for lunch and probably a few slices of pizza and cake later. Will aim for 1700. Have a good day all.
B: Greek yoghurt, berries and quinoa crunch
L: Broccoli salad with chickpeas, feta and sundried tomatoes and some bulgur wheat salad
D: party food
Still aiming for my 12k steps

Morning morning, chow mein ingredients are on my shopping list for next week Grin

I surprisingly weighed in a pound lower than ever this morning which is pretty amazing given the overeating weekend. Great news though as I can increase my calorie budget by 100 for next week.

DH didn't recover from the weekend so well and is still 2lbs heavier than before. He's hit a bit of a plateau actually, i've recommended he take a diet break but he's not buying it. Any suggestions for him? He's using MFP as well. 500 cals a day below TDEE, has been since March. He has an apple watch which calculates his TDEE according to his movements every day too which is quite fancy. He does a 6 mile walk with me every evening and often a 10 mile walk on the weekend. He also does some push ups in the day as he's working from home.

Monstera maybe he can start paying attention to macros?

B ham omelette
L not sure - soup or salad probably
D roast squash and spicy chickpeas
S rocky road if it's set in time!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 30/07/2020 10:25

What should he be looking out for with macros? I think he would like that, he's a numbers geek.

Report
MonsteraCheeseplant · 30/07/2020 10:28

He has lost 2 stone and hasn't adjusted his calorie target so I wonder if that's part of the reason, despite looking at calculations of TDEE, the lack of weight change suggest otherwise?

Report
Heygirlheyboy · 30/07/2020 11:20

Is he updating his weight on tdee? That should be changing his cals as he goes? Lose it does that as you input weight so if you like send on his weight in pounds and weekly target loss and you can compare the recommended cals. But if he's on 500 deficit plus exercise it's a strange one. JS definitely has some 'if you're not losing' videos which could be worth a look.

Report
MonsteraCheeseplant · 30/07/2020 11:23

That's true he is updating his weight on the various MFP/TDEE calculators. I think his rate of loss has just slowed down quite a bit but he was losing 2-3lbs a week at first.

Report
MonsteraCheeseplant · 30/07/2020 11:24

I know he had a bigger deficit in the early days than now.

Report
Heygirlheyboy · 30/07/2020 11:30

How long has he plateaued for? As JS says (!) you can't lose 2 pounds or even 1 every single week.. That would be 52 pounds a year! So if it's not going to long maybe he just needs to hang on in there. I happily confess to knowing absolutely nothing wrt macros. Another thing that has come into my head is is he weighing and measuring every morsel and also how is he bm-wise?! It can make a difference if his system is sluggish...

MonsteraCheeseplant · 30/07/2020 11:51

It was a couple of weeks with no loss, then the birthday weekend was a set back. So yeah it's probably just about patience. I have no idea about bms but he hasn't mentioned anything so no news is usually good news Grin

Heygirlheyboy · 30/07/2020 11:54

Ha yeah that doesn't sound bad.. I know lol re bms but just that he's aware of it maybe worthwhile, up the water etc.!

Report
MonsteraCheeseplant · 30/07/2020 12:18

He weighs himself daily and moans gratuitously so it felt like a longer plateau Grin

Report
Heygirlheyboy · 30/07/2020 12:33

Sure that was me a week ago so I know completely! Grin Tell him to hang in there and not add fuel to the fire by going way over like me Blush I have now apparently lost 1.25lbs over night Grin

Well done @MonsteraCheeseplant! A new low is amazing. Ill weigh myself tomorrow, hopefully I won't have gained too much!! I'm still off work so will go for a longish walk today and should manage lots of steps.
I've just discovered dressed lentils as an addition to salad: tinned green lentils in olive oil, lemon juice, s+p, and some garden herbs - lovely!

Report
Heygirlheyboy · 30/07/2020 13:54

Oh lovely. Tinned is a great idea. I would add roast peppers and feta chunks to that.

MFP does not update your calorie target automatically. You have to add your new weight, change your goal (e.g. to "gain 1lb a week") then change it back to what your actual goal is, and it will recalculate based on the most recent weight.

Fucking annoying and a really silly lack of functionality.

@Heygirlheyboy
Yum, yes! Had it with just a random green salad yesterday, but I think roast veg would be awesome!
I didn't know that about mfp @HoneysuckIejasmine I wondered why mine hadn't changed

Afternoon.

Allegedly at a new low of 14st3.4. Don’t know if it will stick but nice to see it.

Had an epic sleep after being unable to sleep till 3am. Gave up and took the dog out at 1.30am.

Not sure what I’ll do food wise today. Long fasting window then see how I feel.

Yeah it was a shock when I realised. I remember one friend who had lost a lot, plateaued. We realised she was eating 500-600 extra cals a day than her new tdee-500
