Hi, here is a new thread, Excuse the ultra unoriginal title. Weighed in at 9st0.5, this morning, aim (as it has been for every month since March) is to get under 9st. Cannot believe we are in the second half of this year.

Morning everyone,

I stopped recording my food for yesterday but imagine it was around 2000 cals.

DS birthday and we had another family join us for the afternoon so - fizz, hotdogs, lots of nice salads, huge slice of birthday cake, crisps, chocolates....

I didn't eat much in the first part of the day but definitely put my back into the afternoon / evening. We had such a great day, and I was mega busy & on my feet hosting so hoping that used up some of the extra.

Will have another day off today as lots of nice leftovers and cake left. Start again tomorrow Smile

HoneysuckIejasmine · 05/07/2020 10:08

Last few days have been a shit show. I am anticipating a gain this week. Eep.

B bacon sandwich
L soup maybe if I'm hungry
D burger and salad (burger left over that I forgot to out in freezer so guess we're eating it tonight!)

We're going to a Pick Your Own today so might walk there and/or back (it's about 3km away) just so I feel I've done something positive.

TheHoneyBadger · 05/07/2020 17:08

Enjoy your weekend off hangover.

Have had some water biscuits with three slices of halloumi, 4 crab sticks and a gherkin. Then later some pineapple with fat free natural yoghurt and a yummy spoon of honey.

Have soaked oats in the fridge in case I need to eat again but hopefully not. I also had a glass of red in my parents garden when dropping their meds round for them because it would be rude not to.

Happy to report my tdee appears to have bounced right back up again-obviously it was lower when I was fasting and being less active.

Hoping to not have a big bounce up tomorrow. And stealthily hoping that given I’m pre menstrual now I may see some more loss after period.

Hope everyone is enjoying Sunday. I’m physically going into work for the first time in months for a few hours tomorrow.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 05/07/2020 18:57

B: Toast and honey x 2
L: Chicken noodle soup and a Alpen bar thing
D: Beef fajitas and a brownie
S: Muller light chocolate pudding pot - good!
Around 1400

Heygirlheyboy · 05/07/2020 22:48

B: Weetabix
L: Wholewheat wrap with sweet chilli chicken
D: shepherd's pie small portion
Snacks: (the bloody leftovers from yesterday) one Ferrero rocher, one chocolate biscuit, one coconut cream and.... 4 mini rolls!
Somehow managed to be 1450 and with 18500 steps I'm happy with that.

It is interesting now I know my calories needed etc to look back to Jan/Feb when I was doing great to see I was burning an average of 14k+ cals per week, just from the day to day stuff and a twice weekly 4k walk, compared to often just 12500k on the lock down weeks plus the extra food. All makes sense and makes me feel a bit more on top of it. Would never have thought there was almost half of pound in terms of cals burned when comparing activity so I'm going to keep moving!! Hope everyone has a good week ahead. Will weigh in Tues maybe.

Hangoverstruggles · 06/07/2020 07:13

So according to my scales I've gained 3.5lb since Friday?! WTF? I did eat freely all weekend but no way that much - I'd have had to have eaten 12,000+ cals over my tdee to gain that much, surely? I ate healthily, but with crisps & cake on top.

Hoping it's just bloat / water retention. It's had to track but I'd say I ate 2000 on both Sat & Sun, bit when I work out my weekly cals I'm still under my tdee for the week so should not have gained!

I did have to replace the battery in my scales - hope the extra power hasn't made it more accurate or something 😳

BurtsBeesKnees · 06/07/2020 07:15

I stayed off the booze this week and upped my waking. Been completely on plan ALL week and I've not lost a measly lb. not even 1/4 lb, nothing, nadda, I'm so fucked off.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 06/07/2020 07:32

Mate same. Somehow i'm 3lbs up since Friday. I didn't even free eat. I guesstimated some store bought food. Unimpressed.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 06/07/2020 07:41

2lbs, not 3

Hangoverstruggles · 06/07/2020 09:04

It's just so unfair! I totally get the science, so pissed off that I'm so much heavier today.

Getting back on the wagon this week, and will exercise. Fingers crossed it's all just a bit of water weight.

@MonsteraCheeseplant sorry you have a gain. It's all so bloody confusing!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 06/07/2020 09:18

I'm drinking loads of water to see if that helps, oddly it usually does the trick.

TheHoneyBadger · 06/07/2020 09:37

Don’t get head fucked by the fluctuations and if you’ve been eating snacky stuff you’ve likely had more salt than your body is used to ergo water.

I’m only up a lb of my 5lb fasting loss which is good. I ate my oats late last night and haven’t been to the toilet so hoping that will account for a bit of the lb anyway.

Period is looming too. Plan is to keep active and not open my eating window till at least 2.30 and then eat healthily and mindfully.

Heygirlheyboy · 06/07/2020 10:27

I just don't weigh for a few days after a few days like that as I feel thrown by supposed sudden gain. Not scientific but to me it's almost like it's the weight of the food rather than the calories gained so a day or two sorts it out. It is painful tho and it's what sent me off course in March really, supposed 7lb gain in a few days there mé completely and I put my head in the fridge sand!

Heygirlheyboy · 06/07/2020 10:30

Honeybadger do you just soak oats in water?

everycowandagain · 06/07/2020 10:39

Hangover it's not fat gain, just stick with it, it's normal fluctuations.

Scales are flat for me this week although I did a much better job of logging and saving something for evening booze calories last week. Had a significant anniversary over the weekend so ate a fair amount but I am definitely feeling slimmer. DH and I have agreed to do 10 days of no booze so I am expecting some good progress, especially if I can try and stay a bit further under 1500/day like I did last week.

everycowandagain · 06/07/2020 10:42

@BurtsBeesKnees stick with it, if you're doing the right things it will have an effect. It just takes longer than we want it to!

Hangoverstruggles · 06/07/2020 14:04

@BurtsBeesKnees so annoying for you. I feel your pain! Keep at it, everything crossed you have a big loss to make up for it

HoneysuckIejasmine · 06/07/2020 14:13

Hiya. I'm weighing in tomorrow and expecting a gain. Going on a hike tonight so that may or may not help mitigating it, depending on how tough it is!

B mushroom omelette
L lamb soup, salad with brie and raspberries (really good!)
D Spanish chicken, cauliflower and green beans.

TheHoneyBadger · 06/07/2020 14:46

@Heygirlheyboy

Honeybadger do you just soak oats in water?
I use skimmed milk, just enough to nearly cover them. I also add different seeds, almonds, dried fruit and a scoop of protein powder so I get a good fibre and protein hit.
Octopus37 · 06/07/2020 16:49

Hangover, gains are weird aren't they, I remember my VE Day gain in May, 4 pounds overnight after not that much food. Weighed 9st1.25 today, tbh I'm a bit under the weather at the moment (not covid), just really tired and a bit yuk, suspect it could be low iron so kind of eating bits and pieces and not worrying too much. That said, I'm still meeting a friend at the pub tonight

(Sneaks in and says hello to everyone)

After saying I'd start my diet a couple of weeks ago I then remembered I'd two weeks annual leave booked in so I didn't bother with the diet. So here I am, attempting to get back at it. 16:8 here I go!

Welcome back Twixes and thank you TheHoneyBadger, sounds great.

Hangoverstruggles · 07/07/2020 07:33

Morning all, welcome back @Twixes

So I'm still 10st3 this morning so it seems like a genuine gain. I thought I was really getting the hang of it but this is just so demotivating.

Looking back over last week I ate 10,200 cals according to MFP. If I add in an extra 1000 for rogue crisps etc not accounted for at the weekend it's still less than my sedentary tdee which is 11,600 - and I was sedentary! I exercised 3 times last week plus was super busy on my feet. The maths don't add up.

Just feeling like what's the point if one snacky weekend can have such a big jump. Also back to feeling jealous of DH who ate loads over the weekend plus beers all day on Saturday and hasn't gained a single lb 😡

It's a new day, will crack on with watching everything I eat again .....zzzzzz

Octopus37 · 07/07/2020 08:40

Hi Twixes, good to see you again. Hangover, I'm sure its water and will come off in another day or two. Had my pub trip last night, so a slight gain 9st1.75. Had a burger cause I felt as if I needed the iron (good excuse but kind of genuine), new day today.
