Me, I'm starting today too! I have piled on weight as I have been boredom and comfort eating since lockdown started, and I'm now miserable that I look so awful and my clothes are so tight that I'm uncomfortable all day every day, even in pyjamas!!

Starting weight this morning - 68.4kg
Goal weight - 60.0kg

FatBeGone · 08/06/2020 09:17

right - first shake made, i'm using almond milk as its creamier, and still low in calories (i think lower than skimmed milk?) although it has less protein, so i might get some to add?

What did you think of it?

I've had my first shake too, it was the strawberry flavour - wouldn't be my first choice flavour but it was in the 7 day starter pack. I was pleasantly surprised, it was not bad at all! Planning to have another shake for lunch.

FatBeGone · 08/06/2020 10:31

works well with the almond milk, i did it with ice as well, i have a blender thingy

I'm doing shakes for breakfast and lunch and normal dinner - no pudding though and cutting WAAAY back on the wine.

I'm now obsessing about food though - i read that decaf coffee is good to fill you up - so will be drinking more of that

BryonyG · 08/06/2020 13:15

Ice definitely helps make it thicker and creamier for some reason! I'm having a calorie counted ready meal for dinner - and yes to cutting out wine which will be harder than not snacking Sad

Dairym23 · 08/06/2020 15:58

Can I pls join. I’m doing shake for breakfast and lunch and then healthy dinner. I’m finding not picking at kids dinner hard! Any tips? Ive had my 2 shakes plus a fish finger, 7 hula hoops and Small left over of hubby’s lunch! Blush

Dairym23 · 08/06/2020 15:59

Sorry meant kids lunch! Not dinner.

FatBeGone · 08/06/2020 16:51

@FatBeGone Smile

FatBeGone · 08/06/2020 17:30

have you got a target Dairy?

OP posts:
BryonyG · 08/06/2020 18:31

Hi Dairy! Picking is a hard habit to break! Could you make sure you chuck leftover food straight into the bin rather than leaving it in temptations way? Or, accept that you're going to pick and count that as your snacks for the day?

FatBeGone · 08/06/2020 21:10

I just popped my headphones on, danced to music while playing the wii, cleaned the kitchen

Drinking the flavour infusions as well

How are you doing @BryonyG @Dairym23?

It's been a good day - a really busy work day and then I met a friend for a 90 minute walk, so I've barely thought about food. Stuck 100% to plan with shakes for breakfast and lunch, a 400 calorie ready meal for dinner, a Slimfast snack mid-afternoon and a "pudding" of 2 jaffa cakes with a cuppa this evening. Feeling very positive for tomorrow!

Dairym23 · 08/06/2020 22:07

Yeah I definitely need to be stronger with leftovers! It’s been okay but I want tomorrow to be really strict. I just felt really down today so I’m having a glass of red wine now to end the day (175 cals).

Byrony- 90 min walk! Wow well done. Maybe I should try but it’s a nightmare getting kids out. They’re all under 5!

Fatbegone - I’m 11stones, I want to be 8.7 stones. I was 7.5 stones on my wedding day! I cannot believe it. Over years it’s crept and to be honest 95% of my wardrobe does not fit me. I can’t bear to throw away / give away my clothes lol! I’m short - would love to be 8.7 - 9 stones

Dairym23 · 08/06/2020 22:09

Oops cut off, i meant I’m quite short so it does really show! Goodluck tomorrow!

BryonyG · 09/06/2020 08:06

Morning @FatBeGone @Dairym23, how are you feeling today? I've woken up feeling really positive again that I'm going to stick to this. My plan for the day is two shakes and a low cal ready meal. I know ready meals are lazy but it's the best way I have of controlling my portions which is a major issue for me.

I'm also breaking my habit of weighing myself every day where I get really depressed if there hasn't been a movement in the scales overnight or if they creep slightly upwards for some reason. Weigh in will be once a week only on a Monday morning.

FatBeGone · 09/06/2020 08:12

Use what ever you can to make this easier!!

I must have lost about 7 lbs yesterday, I mean I dieted all day?!?!?
Strawberry shake
Chocolate shake
Slimfast snack bar
Slimfast pretzels
Jacket potato with home made bolognese

Was hungry last night, but felt OK, tried to think, "hunger is eating fat cells" (saw on another thread)

OP posts:
BryonyG · 09/06/2020 08:36

Haha same, can't believe I still couldn't fit into my old jeans this morning!

I learned a long time ago when I was doing a different diet to ignore hunger and treat it as just another sensation like being warm or cold. My problem is that I never eat because I'm hungry, I eat because I'm bored or sad or just to get a rush from eating something that tastes good. If only I could crack that habit I'd be laughing!

Dairym23 · 09/06/2020 09:47

I’m the same. I’m an emotional eater. My husband said to me on weekend that I eat more than a man Blush

I think we need to shift the thinking of mood n food. As I associate food with happy times and sad times so I’m always eating.

Goodluck everyone. I will not snack today. I also like ready meals Byrony.

BryonyG · 09/06/2020 11:43

You can do this! If you're tempted to snack have a cuppa, or distract yourself by busying yourself with something for a while. It's nearly lunchtime!

FatBeGone · 09/06/2020 12:16

shake 1 done, shake 2 made, will sit with family while they eat for lunch,

OP posts:
Dairym23 · 09/06/2020 12:45

I couldn’t have a shake at lunchtime as I’ve had to pop out to sort something very important out. I’m really angry with myself as I had a cheese sandwich instead.

FatBeGone · 09/06/2020 13:17

dont be angry with yourself Dairy, can you work out the rough calories of the sandwich and then adjust your evening meal down/ less snacks?

OP posts:
Dairym23 · 09/06/2020 13:30

Yes you’re right I can do that. I would usually just binge at this point thinking what’s the point of carrying diet on. I’ll just have a shake for dinner and try to balance the calories out that way. Thank you for the encouragement x

FatBeGone · 09/06/2020 13:40

theres such a temptation to say "oh fuck it", but we got this - we can do this!!

keep us updated with what you're having for dinner (and remember even if you fall off the wagon for one meal, thats all it is, so long as you continue to stay with your plan, you'll lose weight!)
