Ah @Dairym23 don't be annoyed with yourself, it is really hard! Can you get a separate tub or cupboard for their snacks that you don't even go in, and have your own special place for your snacks - keep it filled with slimfast snacks and fruit that you enjoy picking at?

This is the first Saturday in a very long time that I haven't spent eating - no bacon roll for breakfast, no biscuits or donut... I feel really good about it! I'm treating myself to a vodka tonight instead of my usual Saturday night bottle of red wine. It's going to be different but it's all worth it.

SallyLovesCheese · 14/06/2020 14:11

Hi everyone, how are you all doing?

Dairy - don't beat yourself up. Habits take a while to form, I've definitely had moments where I've found myself reaching for something just because it's there. Have things been better for you today?

Bryony - did you enjoy your vodka? I sometimes have a small glass of white wine with my meal and count it in the 600 kcal. I need a little something alcoholic! But I'm definitely drinking less, which has to be good calories-wise.

Fatbegone - what's the popcorn like and how big is the bag? I get the Proper Corn bags that are 63kcal for 14g. But sometimes it doesn't seem like enough.

Last night I finished off a bag of Smarties that I'd opened to make some cookies with for a friend, so probably over by at least 200kcal. Plus I have my period this week, so not looking for a massive loss this week. Hopefully next week it'll make up for it! Excited to weigh-in properly tomorrow, though, as I think I've definitely lost at least 2lbs.

BryonyG · 14/06/2020 14:39

Hi @SallyLovesCheese! My vodka was really nice, and I just had the one which is a big change from most of a bottle of wine! I'm excited for weigh in tomorrow too - I'll be really pleased with 2lbs/1kg too.

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend!

Dairym23 · 14/06/2020 15:42

Thanks byrony and sallylovescheese!

byrony - glad to hear your vodka was nice. It definitely has less calories than wine. I used to have absolut raspberry vodka and diet lemonade, it was lovely!

Sallylovescheese I’ve been okay today but I know I will be better tomorrow! Don’t worry about the smarties as I once read you burn more calories on your period.

BryonyG · 15/06/2020 07:48

Morning! Hope everyone is feeling good about the start of another week!

So official weigh in day for me... I started at 68.4kg last Monday and this morning I'm 66.5kg so that's 1.9kg (4lbs) off. I'm delighted and inspired to keep going strong with this. I know the first week loss is usually the biggest so I'm aiming for 1kg off this week.

Dairym23 · 15/06/2020 08:28

Byrony - well done! 4lb is amazing. Hope you have a good day too x

BryonyG · 15/06/2020 08:33

Thanks @Dairym23! How are you feeling today?

SallyLovesCheese · 15/06/2020 08:35

Nice one, Bryony, great work!

I lost 3lbs, very happy with that. The SF app doesn't let me include decimals for the pounds, so possibly nearer 4lbs as I was about 12st 2.4lbs. Today's weight is 11st 12.6lbs. Plus any water retention. But I'm counting it as 3, which is perfectly respectable!

Hoping never to see 12 stone again!! (I said that last time!)

Dairym23 · 15/06/2020 08:38

BryonyG I’m feeling better today thanks.

Sallylovescheese - well done too! That’s really good. I didn’t know about slim fast app I need to download it.

Goodluck everyone else too!

BryonyG · 15/06/2020 08:49

Brilliant @SallyLovesCheese! Moving into that next number bracket is such a good feeling!

LlamaofDrama · 15/06/2020 09:54

@Bryony, @SallyLovesCheese well done on the losses! Hopefully knowing that you got that on Monday will make next weekend easier!

I've not got a loss today but I'm not expecting one till Wednesday or Thursday at the earliest, it usually takes 9 or 10 days for me to shift anything. But I've stuck to my running (around 5k today and Saturday) and my step count target and (more or less) to the eating plan so I'm hopeful.

Another week of progress to come for us all!

FatBeGone · 15/06/2020 09:59

well done you lot! you are really inspiring

got on the scales - 1 lb!! gutted, but then did have a bad-ish weekend. Will stay on for Saturday this week, i'm also REALLY REALLY REALLY grumpy, so i think it could be hormonal that i havent dropped more.

@FatBeGone please don't be gutted - you've lost 1lb, why is your brain telling you that's bad instead of seeing it as the positive thing that it is? You had some treats at the weekend and still lost weight, that's great!

Keep the faith, you can do this!

FatBeGone · 15/06/2020 11:14

@BryonyG you are such a sweetheart! thank you

@FatBeGone you’ve done well. 1lb loss is still a loss. I didn’t want t to post this as was embarrassed, but the truth is I’m 3.5lb heavier today than I was last Monday! I’m not down tho as I know I can definitely do better this week. I’m about to have my 2nd shake now.

FatBeGone · 15/06/2020 13:14

@Dairym23 aw - lets do this x hugs

Good for you @Dairym23! What's done is done, and it doesn't mean you can't do things differently this week. You've got this!

Thank you!

I'm in awe that you've managed 5k runs! I keep starting and re-starting C25K and only getting up to week 5 or 6. I must start again someday...

I've been a bit off-plan today and had two chocolate bars and a cold coffee. Will have to be really focussed for the next 6 1/2 days!

It's still a loss! Quite often it takes more than a week to show a loss completely, my old WW leader was always telling me it's more like 10 days. So don't be too disheartened!

And this is it, Dairy - it's about not letting the feeling of hitting a bump derail you completely. Well done you for getting back into it, you're bound to see a loss next week!

istheresomethingwrongwithme · 16/06/2020 06:33

Hi - please can I join you?!

I lost 13lbs at the beginning of lockdown and got down to my target weight. I have put all of it back on again, I'm gutted!

I weighed in this morning at 12st 11.5lbs. I need to get back down to 12st.

I've never done Slim Fast before. I've done Slimming World successfully but I'm finding it boring at the moment and I haven't got time to make the more exciting meals, so I'm stuck in a rut. I'm hoping if I can take care of breakfast and lunch with shakes, then I can focus on a low calorie evening meal and try to get some variety in there. I've got loads of those Skinny Whip and Fibre One bars, which are all about 90-100 calories, so I can use them as my snacks.

Planning to run about 3.5 miles every other morning. On the days I don't run I'll try to plan in a harder walk with my two boys. They are 3 and 1 and if I pick somewhere hilly the oldest one will hop in the double buggy halfway so I'll have to push them both uphill which will work up a sweat!

LlamaofDrama · 16/06/2020 09:37

FatBeGone I'd take a 1lb loss for sure! Grab it and run Grin. And like Sally says, I always think it's more like 10 days in between losses, not a week. Although I possibly lose weight as fast as I run, so you might be speedier than me...

Hi Istheresomething! I think weight that's gone on quickly comes off quickly so hopefully you'll be heading back down the scales very soon. I can't imagine you get a chance to sit around much with two young boys! I love the Skinny Whip bars, especially the strawberry ones.

A good day for me yesterday with sensible on plan eating and nearly 22k steps, some of which were run. Today has started well, fingers crossed the will power plays ball.

KOKO all of you. We can do it.

BryonyG · 16/06/2020 10:16

Morning all! Welcome @istheresomethingwrongwithme and good luck to you. The shakes are certainly convenient and take any thought out of it, then you only have dinner to worry about. Your exercise sounds very impressive, I might need to up the exercise game if my weight loss plateaus.

Yesterday was good for me, 100% on plan and I'm aiming for the same today. It's just becoming habit now, I feel I'm thinking about food a bit less often!

istheresomethingwrongwithme · 16/06/2020 13:08

Thanks for the warm welcome @BryonyG and @LlamaofDrama Smile

You are definitely right that there's not much sitting around here, they're amazing but they never stop! Sometimes I think that's the problem, I don't get around to eating properly myself, then I'm starving so I make bad choices. I agree about weight that goes on quickly comes off quickly, I've just got to stick at it!

FatBeGone · 16/06/2020 14:31

well my ice machine is broken so it was a mad dash to find an ice tray!

Hi @istheresomethingwrongwithme nice to have another name on the team!!
