Hello @LlamaofDrama! Good luck to you - sounds like you're doing great so far.

I just tried the hot milk trick to make my lunch into a hot chocolate and it was lovely! Just what I need after a chilly morning.

LlamaofDrama · 11/06/2020 13:20

@BryonyG, @Dairym23 thank you for having me!

Sometimes full on 321, right now it's a shake for breakfast and calorie counted meals for lunch and dinner and snacks. So far today a shake, an options hot chocolate and a digestive and a bagel thin with very low fat Philadelphia and a salad.

I know this works, it has done for me before, so do stick to it folks, and keep the faith!

Are you all exercising too? I'm looking forward to seeing your losses posted when you weigh in.

BryonyG · 11/06/2020 14:20

I'm not exercising at the moment other than walking my dog twice a day for an hour a time. My weight gain has partly come from the fact that in "normal life" I go to the gym four times a week but the gym has been closed since March and I cannot replicate anything like my usual workouts at home, and I've tried running but just hate it and find it so dull! The rest of the weight gain is from comfort and boredom eating for the last 3 months!

SallyLovesCheese · 11/06/2020 15:31

My weight has always been my weight! Overweight since a teen, I actually joined WW with my mum aged 16. But I'm fed up now. My DS turns two later this year and I don't want more photos of me looking like I look in the photos from his 1st birthday! I'm the same weight as the heaviest I've ever been, which was 13 years ago. Gutted I've put it all back on, after getting down to 9st 10lbs (I'm only 5'1 so my BMI is 32).

I'm walking, which is my exercise, but keen to get back into the C25K again. I've never got past week 5/6 when I've done it before so want to try and crack it! I'm just imaging what it'll be like in September if schools are back full-time (teacher) and the colleagues I haven't seen in ages see me a stone lighter, perhaps more!

SallyLovesCheese · 11/06/2020 15:33

Meant to say welcome, Llama! Happy to kick butt if it's needed... Wink

Dairym23 · 11/06/2020 17:20

It’s bloody hard dieting isn’t it. It’s harder being at home.

Dairym23 · 11/06/2020 17:23

Ladies I’ll catch up with you all Monday. Hope weighing in goes amazingly well and you all have lost weight. I’m waiting for my slim fast snacks which are due to arrive tomorrow!

BryonyG · 11/06/2020 21:12

Day 4 nearly finished. I'm a wee bit over in my eating today, I had a whole punnet of cherries this morning and three cream crackers with pickle at about 5pm because I was starving. However I walked with friends for 2 hours and I'll skip my snack tonight so hopefully it will balance out!

Thanks @Dairym23 - hope you have a good weekend!

SallyLovesCheese · 11/06/2020 21:50

Ah, Bryony, same! I came on to say that I had a latte at breakfast (homemade, so usually just the skimmed milk to count) then a Costa this afternoon (sooooo pleased they've opened again!), didn't really count dinner (although I'm telling myself it was okay) and had a chocolate bar for dessert. Then I had to force myself to leave the kitchen because I thought I would open the fridge and just eat and eat.

So I haven't eaten since dinner and will just have a satsuma for my snack. Bit annoyed at myself. I usually let the morning latte go, as it's only the skimmed milk at around 90kcal and I do a fair amount of walking. But to then have a totally delicious, large, skinny, salted caramel latte from Costa just felt like too much.

But I suppose it's progress. Before, I'd have shrugged and said, well I'll start again tomorrow. I hate that I find it so hard though!!

/rant

I totally agree, Dairy, it is harder at home. Hope the rest of your week goes well too!

LlamaofDrama · 12/06/2020 09:33

@SallyLovesCheese, well done! For me, the ability to make decisions like that is what makes the difference between a short term panic diet and a long term change in lifestyle that keeps the weight off.

I did quite well yesterday, dinner was a bit over so I went for a walk afterwards to try to cancel it out. Weekend is going to be so hard, we've given it to DD10 to plan and so far she's decided on waffles for breakfast on Saturday, pancakes on Sunday and she wants to bake: Swiss roll Confused. I need to join in, it's not fair on her if I don't. I'll just have to have very small portions of everything!

I've just restarted running for the millionth time. I don't really like it but it does burn calories and it's kind of free. I seem to be fitter then I thought, I've done 6 runs over two weeks at around 3 - 3.5k and will up it to 4.5ish tomorrow. Before waffles!

Good luck with sticking to your plans over the weekend.

BryonyG · 12/06/2020 10:18

The idea of the weekend is definitely daunting. There's that mindset of wanting to enjoy the weekend, and for me that's very much linked to eating nice food and drinking wine. But I did a sneaky unofficial weigh in this morning and can see that my efforts are working, so that's given me the motivation to keep going and not lapse!

oaktreehill · 12/06/2020 10:56

Hi, I'm a bit late to the party, can I join you please?

SallyLovesCheese · 12/06/2020 10:59

Welcome, Oak! First day today or have you been on the plan already?

I stepped in the scales today, looks like I may have lost but waiting for the official Monday weigh-in!

Bryony, I hope the weekend goes well for you. Seeing the scales really does help, doesn't it?

oaktreehill · 12/06/2020 11:05

Hi @SallyLovesCheese and thanks for having me.

It's my first day today, I am a slim fast virgin. 🤣

I did weigh myself this morning, I've not been brave enough all week but today is the day. I am 11st 9. Far to fat for my height, I feel bloated and vile so somethings got to give.

FatBeGone · 12/06/2020 11:57

so yesterday i had my 2 shakes, a slimfast snack and an apple. Then I had dinner...

Then I had 2 large g & (lo cal) tonics and a vodka!
So not the normal half bottle of wine I would normally have, but still... hmmm!

Hi @oaktreehill and good luck to you! I'm on day five and going well, the products are actually really nice which helps a lot.

@FatBeGone you still made good choices, so don't beat yourself up! Remember you're aiming for really good most of the time which is far better than perfect some of the time...

oaktreehill · 12/06/2020 12:27

Hi @BryonyG, thanks for wishing me luck. I'm starving already, it's going to take me a few days to adjust. I usually stuff my face all day long and feeling hungry is new to me. I'm not liking it much!

BryonyG · 12/06/2020 12:39

I know @oaktreehill, it's a hard one to get your head around. If you're struggling try a cup of tea if you drink it, and then something to distract yourself for an hour. Was it a shake or a bar you had for breakfast? I find the shakes much more filling than the bars for some reason.

oaktreehill · 12/06/2020 12:53

@BryonyG I had a shake for breakfast and will have one for lunch in a bit. I've been keeping busy cleaning the bathroom. I took the dogs for a walk for fifty minutes. Also dug out my Fitbit and have been logging my water intake and food (slim fast) in the the app. Not a fan of water, I usually drink lots of Diet Coke but I'm only allowing myself one can a day now.

BryonyG · 12/06/2020 15:46

I'm terrible at drinking water too! I drink one coffee a day, one can of diet coke (sometimes two or three at the weekend) and gallons of tea! Just can't seem to get into the habit of drinking water - and I'm not convinced it does anything to help weightless other than filling your stomach. Maybe it's the extra exercise of going up to the loo every 15 minutes lol

imnottoofussed · 12/06/2020 16:39

I started the plan today, must admit to being hungry at the moment but am persevering until I can have my tea. I've had a shake for breakfast and lunch, two nectarines mid morning and a Muller light yogurt mid afternoon. 2 glasses of cordial and 3 cups of tea. Can't seem to stop weeing so hopefully that's the initial couple of pounds vacating through water retention. Starting stats height 5ft 9, weight 11st 13lb. Aiming to get to 10 st 7lb or lower. Has anyone tried the cookies and cream ready made shake? just wondering whether to order any.

FatBeGone · 12/06/2020 19:24

@imnottoofussed wish i was where you are now!
10 and a half would be good... may be too far out of reach for me thou

Morning all, just a wee message to say that we can all stay strong and on plan this weekend! Here's to making good choices and enjoying ourselves without over-eating or using food as a treat or reward...

Dairym23 · 13/06/2020 15:44

Thank you @BryonyG. I’m really annoyed with myself. I ate too much again. I’m waiting for slim fast snacks to arrive maybe they will help. It’s so hard when there’s so much temptation in the cupboards! I ha s to but treats for the kids n husband. I’m thinking of getting a safe with pin code to put all the chocolates n crisps, Grin

FatBeGone · 13/06/2020 16:33

Afternoon team - i'm relaxing at the weekend, but i did go to Aldi earlier and stocked up on sugarfree sweets, and some of their popcorn - they're 130 cals a bag, so not massively out
