Hello my lovely losers and welcome to the April edition of lose 7lbs/3kg per month!

Previous thread here :) Lose 7lbs/3kg a month - The March Thread http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3835693-lose-7lbs-3kg-a-month-the-march-thread

All are welcome regardless of how much you want to lose or what method you are following.

All I ask for is the amazing support and positivity I see every month from this absolutely amazing little corner of mumsnet.

Obviously things are going to be a bit weird this month. If your goal is just to maintain then that's absolutely fine. Stick with us, share your plans, recipes, hopes and achievements. Share your good days and your down days. Chat is not limited to just dieting and food. You regulars have kept me going this last few weeks!!

Anyway, enough mushy stuff! See you all tomorrow for start of the month weigh in!!!

Much love and stay safe! ❤️❤️

@Tanaqui good luck with your work out and ginger tea sounds nice! Enjoy your brunch too. Must be good to have reached the Easter holiday.

Morning. My clothes are starting to not fit (as of yesterday) and I am too scared to weigh myself yet. I’m also not allowed to exercise till I’m fully better, which does not help.
Plan:
B: chocolate (I know - already eaten)
L: roasted veg, blue cheese, potatoes
D: TBC - poss salad.

I’m going to psych myself up to a weigh-in tomorrow.

I made the mistake of baking yesterday, they are keto brownies but I ate 2 last night when I'd had a giant dinner of fakeaway kebab meat with salad, homemade coleslaw and hot sauce.

They are so tasty but I need to ration them!
Today's food:
Brunch - bacon, cheese and eggs
Dinner - Cajun steak with leek and mushrooms probably followed by a keto brownie with cream so long as I haven't eaten any by then.

Hope you're all doing ok Smile

I checked in the other day as I don't want to lose contact with everyone.
But I have totally fallen off the diet wagon. I have put a few pounds on and obviously that is not ideal. I am however pretty sure that the desire to lose weight hasn't gone, just the motivation.
So I will read along and hopefully in the not too distant future I will be back on track. We're about to hit the 1 year mark since I began losing weight and I am still more than 3 stone lighter than I was then so in that respect I am happy.
Big thanks as always to @cricketmum84 for the thread and all your lovely motivation for whoever hops on board the thread.
Flowers @Egghead68, hope you are not feeling too rough. Ultimately coming through this healthy in body and mind is the most important thing. KOKO

@Onceuponatimethen ginger tea is lovely- this was the pukka ginger and lemongrass, but my lovely colleague does one with fresh sliced ginger, a little lemon and sometimes honey which is divine! Definitely worth a try if you like hot drinks.

So sorry you aren't feeling well, @cricketmum84. Get better soon!

Hello @Onesmallstep67, it's still nice to hear from you on here! Don't be a stranger! The thread will still be going when you are ready to return to weight loss. I am also finding it challenging under the circumstances, but finding my way to a new type of eating healthily (while still getting to do stuff like baking with the kids) within the current constraints :-)

@Egghead68 I'm feeling frustrated at not being able to exercise too! When it comes to me, it's always a bad sign when I'm too scared to weigh myself... Grin

@Onceuponatimethen I'm truly amazed by how many steps you are managing while we're on lockdown! I barely make it to 1k! (And I remember my 10k days and that was a LOT of walking!)

Thanks for all the Easter egg suggestions. There are no Tesco slots here. My next one is at the end of the month Shock and I had to sit up until 1am at the start of the week to get it because they release the slots at 11.58pm and put you into a queue. I don't have a Lidl but I do have an Aldi. I'm actually at the stage where I can't work out if we're allowed out of the house or not. My symptoms are much better but DH still has breathlessness.

Weight is STS today so still slightly down from the start of the month. I'm missing my handy healthy snacks. I need to work out some kind of savoury snack to replace my SnackAJacks' obsession.

Hello All, I'm back, if you'll have me?

I've had three weeks off while the world went a bit mad. I've gained 1lb and that's enough thank you very much. I've had a birthday this week but now all that junk is eaten up and I've no more excuses.

Plan to cycle min 10k everyday (own spin bike) and get outside for a walk/jog if I can get out early enough in the day.

I've just had my last supper and am now fasting through until tomorrow morning bar the last glass of rosè in the bottle which I will have later in the evening.

I'm going to read back through the thread now 😊

Welcome back Frogs.

I've eaten two home made chocolate chip cookies today. It's within my WW points, but I have to admit I still feel like I'm cheating!

@Onesmallstep67 good to see you again - under these circumstances a little weight gain is unsurprising and your total weight loss is so amazing. We're to support you when you're ready to try and lose again.

and @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa welcome back.

Here in Singapore our lockdown begins on Tuesday after ever increasing cases in the community. It's the hottest time of year here so outdoor exercise is very challenging in the heat and humidity. For exercise I rely on the pool but they have to shut on Tuesday for the rest of the month. I understand and support the reasoning but it's going to be hard with the little ploughings who are 5 & 7. We live in a very small flat (like most people in Singapore!) without a garden so I am feeling a bit worried (and homesick for a garden in the English spring)

But, we take a day at a time like everyone else and I am so far succeeding in not over eating and sticking to 16:8 and no snacking. Today I weighed in at 63.9kg after being at 64.4 for aaaages so glad to see a move in the end. My target for April is only another half a kilo because of the inevitable lack of exercise, but if I make it by mid-month I might see if I can make another half a kilo. koko everyone I love being part of this thread.

Ginger tea with honey and lemon is my favourite. Ploughingthrough It sounds hard being in a flat during lockdown. Could you watch exercise videos and join in? Im fortunate to live in the middle of nowhere and have fields so I'm not impacted too much.

Flying visit before my first workout of the day. Down to 67.9. Food was ok yesterday, no snacking. Almost 20k steps but then I did the weekly shopping trip which adds a few.

Struggling with a bit of the meh which I imagine is very common at the moment. Here's to a brighter day for everyone!

Morning all! Looks like it’s another sunny day for most, hopefully. I hope you had an ok day @ploughingthrough - that does sound hard. My two dds are almost the same age so I completely get the difficulty. I hope the lockdown won’t last too long for you

@crivit I think lots of people are feeling like that on and off. I’ve got into some rubbish telly box sets in the evening which seems to be helping. Hope you can find something to take your mind off it

@MotherOfDragonite I didn’t manage it yesterday in the end! We were all tired in the morning and dp said we needed a rest day from intense exercise which i think was right. Will get back on the wagon today. I find doing it in three main lots works well. My littlest dd really likes the Andy’s workouts on the CBeebies. if I do a few of those with her then two (short) ones are 1,000 steps already!

Food plan:

Breakfast- tinned grapefruit (last one)
Lunch - veg soup
Dinner - we are lowish on food, so probably fishfingers and veg

Yesterday was the worst day ever for binging as I was really worried about my lungs.

Anyhow, I’m now biting the bullet and weighing myself... I have gone up from 63.3kg pre-corona to ... wtf my scales are saying 63.1kg. That was not expected. I know I have gained a lot of inches because my clothes don’t fit. I think I’ve lost loads of muscle mass and gained fat. I’m also not sure my scales are accurate.

I hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe and well those who are and get better those who are poorly.

Report
Tanaqui · 05/04/2020 07:34

I hope you feel better today Egghead- you will regain muscle tone quicker than you think. Some of the inches might be water retention from being so poorly too?

I had a good day yesterday, hungry today but feeling motivated! Hope you all have lovely sundays.

Morning all :) anyone else totally losing track of days??

@GetTheStartyParted any chance you could share your Keto brownie recipe please? We will be baking today :)

@Onesmallstep67 I think there's a lot of us feeling like that at the moment. It's so hard to diet right now. I feel quite MEH at the moment although am forcing myself to head out for a short walk soon.

Welcome back @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa lovely to see you again!

@ploughingthrough yup that's going to be tough! Especially with little ploughings! Are you going to be allowed out for exercise at all? Maybe a family walk early morning or late evening when the temps are a bit cooler?

@crivit how are you getting 20k steps in?! I'm lucky if I get 200 at the moment 😂

Plan for today is OMAD. I used to eat fish up until just before Christmas and found a single mackerel fillet in the freezer yesterday. Nobody else will eat mackerel so I've just cooked it and once cooled will add creme fraiche, lemon and horseradish to attempt a pate type thing and have with toasted brown bread later today. I've got plenty of carrots and stuff in to make crudités if I get snacky and a few satsumas too.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning all. Sorry I was MIA yesterday. I spent the day giving upstairs a really thorough clean and bed changes ahead of DD5 arriving today. I have a lovely piece of rolled sirloin which I'm going to use for her favourite - a proper roast beef dinner even though the weather is more suited to a barbeque. I'm even going to allow myself to have roast potatoes. Weight still going down though - 2 lbs off this month so far. Every cloud has a silver lining.
Waving to all the oldies and welcome to all the new posters really hope everyone can get outside today and make the most of the sunshine. Happy Sunday everyone.

I'm up 0.8lbs today but I ate lots of carbs yesterday and didn't get much sleep so I'm hopeful it's just a blip. I decided to let DS stay up and have a midnight feast. We've been so busy with work and school, it was just nice to reconnect a bit with him. And it's funny the little things that are so important to DCs. He was so excited about it! Of course, I'll pay for it today because he'll be over-tired and grumpy Grin

Ploughing that's such a shame about the pool although understandable. Last week, we were having water fights in the bathroom. Nowhere near as good as a pool but maybe a tiny way to have fun and stay cool with the mini Ploughings.

Ooo @recklessgran I'd love a beef dinner especially the roast potatoes!

@cricketmum84 I don't know how to do click links but hopefully this works alldayidreamaboutfood.com/coconut-flour-brownies/

We've walked the dogs in the glorious sunshine this morning, DH is out in the garden but I'm feeling a bit meh - as @crivit said.

Brunch was bacon and cheese
Dinner will be butter chicken curry with cauliflower rice (followed by another brownie!)

@JessJonesJumps a midnight feast sounds fun, my DS would love that so much! Not sure I could stay awake though with 4x 3am starts each week at the moment, I get up at 2am. I'll send him your way Wink

@Egghead68 really hope you're on the mend. It sounds like you did what your body needed you to do, and it's repairing itself. Keep looking after yourself Flowers

Just swapped jobs to give DD a haircut. It was sooooo long and knotting at the bottom because of split ends. We were trying to get an appt before lockdown.

Don't think I've done too bad a job!!!
