Ah, little cricket has beautiful hair and you are obviously currently in the wrong job @Cricketmum84 - great job. I could never master the fringe cutting/long hair trimming for my 5 even with proper hairdressing scissors and don't even get me started on French plaits. I'm sure all this will be on my DD's list of parental transgressions along with no end of other failures.
Well, DD5 has arrived safely and the beef is in the oven. Cauliflower cheese made - just need to sprinkle the crushed cheese and onion crisps on top before it goes in the oven. Runner beans, carrots, potatoes and broccoli prepped. I'm going to enjoy this even if it ends up being a carb fest.

Onceuponatimethen · 05/04/2020 17:38

@cricketmum84 that looks amazing! I have totally massacred dd’s fringe Grin

GetTheStartyParted · 05/04/2020 17:48

@cricketmum84 looks great, after DS has been to @JessJonesJumps for his midnight feast, I'll send him your way for a haircut Grin It's getting long but I'm dreading having to cut it.

cricketmum84 · 05/04/2020 22:44

Haha @GetTheStartyParted that's fine 😂 she ran off crying after the first snip because I cut so much off but then came back down calmer, asked me to finish it and ended up loving it!

Hello and welcome all new joiners, this is a great place to be, and special thanks to @cricketmum84 for the new thread (totally missed the start of the month, work has been mental!)!

Some great losses being posted here, even more amazing given the current challenges in the world, you are such a positive crew Star

Checking in for April:

Start weight (6th Jan) 10st 11lb
Current weight (5th Apr) 9st 7lb
Target loss in Apr not really defined, would like to lose a bit more so think I'll aim for 9st 3lb and see how I look/feel as worried I might start to look gaunt....

Logging everything on MFP, some days 16:8, minimum 10k steps per day, at least 2L water but not been running as have had no time.

Sending everyone positive thoughts and Flowers

Tanaqui · 06/04/2020 07:05

Wow @ValentineFizz you have done well! How tall are you?

@cricketmum84, want to do my hair too? It's awful at the moment!

10.5 this morning, so a nice start- although I know that first loss is just having an empty system! Hope today is good for you all.

longroute11 · 06/04/2020 09:52

Great reading all the posts.

Not too bad a week for me,last week.

Have done a food order for click&collect, coming at end of week. Will have to eek out salads till then(if they come) and have no fruit. Funny what I am craving, keep thinking about fruit.

Last week had too many carbs in bread so lesson learnt I hope for this week.

I’ve started to do a 20 mins cardio exercise session every day that’s on YouTube. It is for 31 days. Oh blimey I have no flexibility. Doing it at my own pace then will repeat the 31 days again, that’s the plan anyway. I’m shocked how bad my body is trying to workout. It’s really not that fast but got to try somewhere. I’ve got sciatica in my left leg so hoping if I go slower my leg might free up a bit. Bonus is the woman’s cat keeps walking across the room as she is exercising.

Menu for today,
B. 1 wheatabix
L. Last of lettuce, toms, houmous, cous cous
D. Stir fry veg of any sort

Am going to weigh on Fridays I’ve decided.

JontyDoggle37 · 06/04/2020 09:52

Joining back in after a break.
@JessJonesJumps I’m back as promised! House sales and moves all completed and I’m feeling much less stressed, so ready to face weight loss again. Starting at 12 stone 7. I’ve also given up alcohol, as I was drinking far too much and it was derailing my diet every time. Been for a run with my 4 year old this morning, we just did a mile and a half. I arrived sweaty and achy, he barely busted a sweat 😳. Onwards and downwards...

recklessgran · 06/04/2020 10:06

Morning all. Today is my weigh day.
Last week 12 st 8lbs
Today 12st 5.75lbs
So that's 2.25lbs this week. Very happy with that considering yesterday's non keto roast beef dinner [no Yorkshires but 3 roast potatoes]. Oh well, I enjoyed it!
Food plan for today.
Bacon and egg for lunch and roast pork salad for dinner tonight.
Good to see you back and cracking on so well @ValentineFizz. @Vebrithien I've been thinking of you and miniveb and hope you're both doing O.K.
Have a good day all - lovely and sunny again here.

MotherOfDragonite · 06/04/2020 10:14

Hello lovely losers! Welcome to the new folk, hello again to the existing gang Grin

@cricketmum84 you have a second career waiting as a hair dresser! Nice work!

I spoilt my good work by snacking too much last night and it has resulted in an instant gain of 1.5lb this morning, which seems weirdly quite a lot. But if I keep on track today and tomorrow, I can still lose weight overall this week.

MotherOfDragonite · 06/04/2020 10:14

Wow, @recklessgran, very well done!

Egghead68 · 06/04/2020 10:34

Congratulations @recklessgran and @ValentineFizz. Excellent hair-cutting skills @cricketmum84!

I am trying 16:8 or 18:6. Will report back.

ModernMilli · 06/04/2020 11:01

MotherOfDragon it's usually just water weight.

MrsRonaldUlyssesSwanson · 06/04/2020 14:06

Hello all! Lovely reading all your posts and seeing @cricketmum84 's handiwork! I have been delaying the inevitable fringe cut but it's almost down at my nose so may need to get the scissors out myself.

Bit of a disastrous start after my post on Friday, my sleep pattern is all over the shop as I've been furloughed and not very productive. Been knackered as I've been trying to sort it and headed for the carbs all over the weekend so fresh start this morning after a good night's sleep at relatively normal time. Restarted Team RH and went for my government approved walk earlier so well on my way to my 10,000 steps

B. protein porridge and a banana
L. Homemade spicy lentil soup with a roll
D. Probably tomato confit tart and potatoes and salad courtesy of the gousto box

Hope you're all doing well! X

Tryingtwo · 06/04/2020 14:37

Hello all, I haven't been posting due to a serious case of the mehs. Friday and Saturday I started off positive but derailed myself with tooamy snacks. Yesterday was a write off - I made no attempt to track and had about a a quarter of a French stick for lunch with philadephia, neither of which I weighed, dinner wasn't too bad but the snacking was epic, I hardly drank any water and didn't even go for a walk.
Today is a fresh start but honestly it's a slog. I made myself get on the scales this morning and the numbers haven't punished me (yet) as I was 12st 3.4lbs this morning which is 0.2lbs down on my best weight for March.
Well that turned into a woe is me post, I promise that I'll give myself a swift kick up the bum and be more positive from now on.

Tryingtwo · 06/04/2020 14:39

Tooamy should have been too many!

cricketmum84 · 06/04/2020 14:42

Hello everyone! So sorry for such a late post from me! Been in conference calls since first thing this morning and this is my first break!

So far have had 2 slices of wholemeal toast. Tonight I'm having broccoli curry and rice! Yum! As predicted I put the pound back on after the pizza 😂 I think I've planned meals for this week pretty well though so should be down by the end of the week.

Thank you for all the hair compliments!! Little cricket is still really happy with it which is making me smile. She is just baking a cake and planning on leaving a slice outside our NDN door with a nice note. He is recently widowed and I think he's probably finding all this quite difficult. We have already offered to help out with shopping etc but she wanted to do something to make him smile.

@MrsRonaldUlyssesSwanson that tomato tart sounds lovely!! I'm all out of tomatoes but need to use up broccoli, cauliflower, celeriac and swede. Getting to the point where I need to start prepping and freezing before things get past their best.

You are doing so well @recklessgran that's an amazing loss!

Hello again @JontyDoggle37!! We missed you 😍

@ValentineFizz know the feeling about work!! I'm a payroll manager and have about 3400 salary reductions to sort this month for furlough.... eek! My head is spinning!

Enjoy the rest of your Monday my lovelies. And a huge extra dose of positivity and thankfulness for any of you who are essential workers keeping the country going. You are all stars xx

@GetTheStartyParted my DS can go with your DC to cricketmum for a haircut. He hates getting his hair cut and I'm seriously considering just letting it grow since no-one will see it anyway. Oh dear! Three weeks in and I'm already opting for the path of least resistance!

Weight is STS. I need to get a grip of my snacking habit. Pre self-isolation I had quite a good snacking routing - berries, nuts, rice cakes. Now, I'm raiding the Christmas chocolate and the sweetie box. At this rate, I'll be on to the tinned biscuits before the end of the week.

@JontyDoggle37 You're back! Hurrah! Glad everything went well and you're feeling better too. We've missed you Flowers

crivit · 06/04/2020 22:39

@cricketmum84 - at the moment I think it's called not having kids 😁. I do a session in the morning of physio, cardio and yoga, often a walk during the day (last couple of days I've taken walking poles, raises my heart rate much more than standard walking plus resistance for the upper body bones) and then an evening session of weights and cardio 4 nights a week with just cardio on the other nights. The cardio is walking or dance based only, I don't do high impact. Once this lockdown business finishes I'll likely drop the morning cardio because I'll be back to walking more again. It's rare I need to use the bus or tram here, most places in the city I go to I can walk (or cycle) to with ease so even prelockdown I regularly hit 15 to 20k steps.

Also, nice hairdressing skills 😎

@longroute11 - good plan on the exercise. You should be able to see exactly how much you've improved over the time doing that!

@JontyDoggle37 - congratulations on the house sale and move 🏡

@Tryingtwo - French sticks are sometimes impossible to resist.

@recklessgran - nice loss Grin

I was down again this morning at 67.4kg which was a pleasant surprise. Food was ok today too I think. No snacks, breakfast of porridge with sultanas, nuts and speculaas, lunch of salad stuff, houmous, seitan things and bread and butter and a dinner of homemade (well, home topped) gluten free pizza and more green leafy stuff. Now curled up with my cocoa.

crivit · 06/04/2020 22:40

Oh, and a glass of the Chardonnay we opened on Friday night !

ploughingthrough · 07/04/2020 01:48

Well done everyone I'm so impressed with any successes at all under these tricky conditions. I think just mental well-being is an achievement in itself.
I weighed today and weighed in at 63.2kg which I am finding hard to believe. I haven't been able to do much exercise with our pool closed and the hideous heat outdoors, so I've just stuck to my eating plan and recently replaced my cups of tea with herbals ones (apart from the first thing in the morning one - I need normal tea!)
Anyway, so if the scales are being truthful I've already passed my target of a kilo for April and will do my best to shed another kilo. I'm just one pound away from a 2 stone loss overall.
DH and I have a very firm mattress and now I'm less squidgy I am finding it very uncomfortable! Campaigning for a new (bigger) bed and softer mattress.

Tanaqui · 07/04/2020 06:52

Goodluck with that ploughing! When I was thinner I had to put a bit of the duvet between my knees or they were too bony to get to sleep!

Fasted yesterday, so feel a bit weird today, but read that it is super good for you, so we shall see!

Onceuponatimethen · 07/04/2020 07:19

Morning everyone!

I weighed yesterday and was excited to see that I’ve gone down to 77.7! I think this means I’ve lost around 10kg since December!

I’m afraid I celebrated by eating whole a jar of olives with dp (healthy as veg, right?! Grin plus a massive Kit Kat Hmmwhich I ate upstairs secretly from dp and kids like a teenager Grin

I’m still doing the exercise. I’ve learned I need a proper rest day from the vigorous stuff every 6 or 7 days, but apart from the rest days I’m hitting 10k or more every day since the 28th of March. I’m going to try to keep this up as long as I can.

I could see a huge difference when I took the kids on a walk yesterday - I’ve never been doing much regular exercise before, so a walk to the local park half an hour away and up a hill felt like a bit of an effort and dds both used to moan, but now dds and I can do it so much more easily.

Onceuponatimethen · 07/04/2020 07:28

Really nice to see everyone else’s losses too - think we are all doing amazing to keep determined and focus on our goals.

We got a small shop this morning but also have an organic meat and veg box coming tomorrow - hoping to get more or less what we ordered or food will be a bit limited!

Food today:

Breakfast - fruit and half slice toast
Lunch - veg soup (veg and barley one)
Dinner - eggs, carrot sticks and red peppers

longroute11 · 07/04/2020 08:57

Thanks Crivit. Yes I am really hoping this 20 mins of cardio workout will make a difference. I am so shocked I’m finding it tricky as I walk a lot with dog walks usually and always seek walks with hills and fast walking when she is off the lead. Not at present obvs as only walking her round the block on the lead. So slowly! as she liked to sniff every riveting smell on pavements.

I’m going through cupboards looking for things to make interesting dinners for 4. Found a tin of pears, yay.

On a serious side I’m so grateful for my lovely DH and DC’s and really feel for people living in very difficult and dangerous situations at home. Also that we have a small garden to go into. Have just ordered some vegetable seeds to grow some salads. First time for us but will be good and great if we get some success come summer.

Hope you’re day goes well all.
