Just managed to reach 10,000 steps with a lot of walking around my house like a crazy lady! Grin I’m really trying to keep up the exercise and weirdly it’s making me feel much better in myself

recklessgran · 01/04/2020 19:20

Evening all. Typically late to the April party.
Stats;
Start weight 30th Dec 14 st 3.75lbs
Weight 1st April 12st 8lbs
Total loss 1st 9.75lbs
Goal for April is 4.25lbs so that my total loss will be 2 stone.
Will then work out my actual goal weight.
Welcome to all the new people - good to have you here.
I'm doing Keto - not logging or tracking anything but sticking very strictly to the rules. Just having a small lunch and then dinner followed by sugar free jelly. If I need a snack it is 5 walnuts or pecans or 2 squares of over 85% Lindt chocolate.
This works well for me and stops me obsessing about food.
Before this I was addicted to freshly baked bread and toast and marmite in particular and as a result I have been sporting a massive bread baby for years. That has now disappeared and I have a proper waist again.
Hope everybody has had a good day. Especially thinking of all you ladies home schooling your children. My home school would definitely be in special measures if I found myself in that position. It would be chocolate cake for breakfast and every day a duvet day!

JessJonesJumps · 01/04/2020 19:40

It's been hectic here today so I completely forgot to log in this morning.

Start Weight (2nd Jan) : 13.7.8
Loss for March: 5.2lbs
Total Loss: 1 stone 2lbs
April SW: 12.7.6
April Goal: 12 stone

I'm being mindful of carbs, eating two meals per day and trying to only eat healthy snacks. Since DC isn't at school, we're exercising every day eg Joe Wicks, circuits.

ModernMilli · 01/04/2020 20:02

Recklessgran thanks for your reply on last thread. Im 5ft 9 and have a big bum and thighs/hips but have a defined waist but I am short waisted so longer from waist to feet and shorter bodied. I also have a bigger bust 34E. I feel I am a curvy hourglass with some pear tendancies haha.

carlywurly · 01/04/2020 20:06

Hi everyone, I'd love to join in - I've been on this since early jan and find from just over 13 stone to 11st 11 today. At 5ft 7, I look best under 11 stone so around 10 10 is my aim.

I'd originally planned to lose a stone for the holiday I should be on right now - now I'm focused on another stone for the summer hols.

I'm very routine driven in my eating at work so really trying not to fall off the wagon now Sad

ModernMilli · 01/04/2020 20:20

Hi carleywurly Im new too.

SconNotScone · 01/04/2020 22:01

Hi to everyone that is just joining! And well done on all the losses so far, best of luck everyone for April!

My day has been ok, I didn’t have breakfast, except ended up eating the white of my 6 year old’s boiled eggs, as she decided she only likes the yolk and soldiers 🙄 then the world’s smallest banana mid morning! Lunch was chicken soup with plain bread, dinner was spaghetti bolognese. I would be a terrible low-carber!
Unfortunately I ate a piece of brownie after we made them this afternoon. However, I have done 45 mins on the stationery bike this evening, plus Joe Wicks PE this morning, so feel not too bad.
Homeschooling is going remarkably well. I have been furloughed, so I am lucky to be able to put some focus into it. Having only one child is paying off in the sense that I can dedicate time to her, however a sibling would really take the pressure off having to fill the gaps in the school day!!

crivit · 01/04/2020 22:08

Hi all.

I was around for a short while a few months ago but I thought I'd come back this month. Hope everyone is as good as can be expected at the moment!

This morning I weighed in at 68.9kg which is at least 5 too many for me. After losing around 15kg last year I've stalled horribly so I'm trying to kick myself up the arse a bit.

Since stronger restrictions came in a couple of weeks ago (I'm in France) I've been exercising at home a lot more to make up for less walking out and about. (Light) weights 4 times a week, over an hours cardio a day, yoga and some pilates as well. Weight hasn't budged but I've been snacking too much so today that didn't happen!

Today was:
B. Porridge with sultanas, nuts and cinnamon
L. G-F pasta with green pesto, wild garlic tofu stuff and broad beans
D. Homemade green split pea soup with bread and butter.

Plus a cocoa.

Oh, and I had a great NSV the other month. In my not so slim past I'd had appointments about my slightly high cholesterol (only just over 5). Registered with a new doctor who wanted to run some bloods. I was told that my cholesterol (both numbers) was impeccable 😎

Egghead68 · 02/04/2020 06:28

Morning. Anyone else keep waking really early (around 3am)?

Plan:
B: crisps and ice-cream 1000 cals (I know but already done)
L: roasted veg 400
D: kale chips 100
Exercise: 10K steps in kitchen, 40 mins on bike, weights and body-weight exercises

cricketmum84 · 02/04/2020 07:26

Morning all! Up bright and early today!

@Egghead68 I'm not waking early but I am really struggling to sleep on a night. I've never been a great sleeper anyway but definitely worse with all this worry.

Welcome back @crivit you have got this!! Excellent news about the cholesterol!

@SconNotScone I like your DD :) I only like the yolk and soldiers too 😂

Hi @carlywurly and welcome :) I'm also struggling a little with routine not being in the office. Planned to make a salad for lunch yesterday but ended up with a quick cheese slice sandwich in white bread between Skype meetings! Must be more organised today!

Food plan for today is:
B - coffee and a satsuma
L - tomato and red pepper soup
D - DH and DD are having an all day breakfast so I'm going to dry fry some mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, add half a bag of spinach and some avocado then poach 2 eggs with it. I'll add a little chilli and garlic too. Quite looking forward to this!

Won't be around much today as I'm in a 7 hour (!!!!!) Skype meeting! I'm bringing my brita jug into the living room and intending on drinking lots and lots of water. I've been so rubbish at drinking water the last couple of weeks.

Have a lovely Thursday everyone and stay safe xxx

Morning all! Sympathies on the sleep front - I’m finding it difficult to get to sleep Confused

Plan for today is:

Breakfast: grapefruit
Lunch: veg soup and whatever salad bits are left (fridge looking a bit low again)
Dinner: whichever meat from the emergency organic meat box I just got has the shortest use by date plus veg!

Exercise plan!

I’m going to do dance again with dvds amd dds to best of my feeble abilities Grin also Joe Wickes in two separate sessions (one at 10 ish and one mid afternoon). That should be about 6.5k steps

Then 1k incidental steps jobs, cleaning etc

2.5k steps from chatting on phone while running and walking

Weirdly from a very unfit base I can feel my stamina going up a bit even after just hitting this 10k target for only 5 days. Going to try really hard to keep going!!!

Ecci · 02/04/2020 09:41

@ModernMilli Your face exercises sound good, do you have a link for them? I still have an enormous waist, anyone know any exercises that might help it shrink?

Tanaqui · 02/04/2020 10:45

Good morning! I've had a terrible bread and cheese start to the day as work keep bringing in snacks to keep our spirits up! But at least it is helping me stay calm. I will try and stick to salad for lunch.

Ecco, I think hula hooping, salsa or belly dancing and body combat are all good for waist muscles if any of those appeal to you!

HundredYearOldMan · 02/04/2020 12:11

I’d like to join if that’s ok!

Started calorie counting on the first day of self-isolation 2 weeks ago!

Start weight - 16st 2
Current weight - 15st 7
Goal for April - 15st

I’d love to get into the 14s but 7lbs would take me to 15st exactly.

Food for today

B- banana bread
L - homemade carrot and sweet potato soup
D - tuna pasta with salad

Kellraiser · 02/04/2020 17:17

Hi all, nervous new member here.
I've put off losing weight for so long, but I looked at my medical records when signing up to the NHS app and discovered it's been nearly ten years since I was a healthy weight. I was once actually 10 stone 🤦
Current weight 88 kilo/13 stone 8
Desired weight 66 kilo/10 stone 7

Bring it on 💪

JessJonesJumps · 02/04/2020 18:35

Our routine has fallen apart the last few days. DH and I have both been snowed under with work.

DS and DH have been so grumpy.
It seems odd to say but I can't wait till tomorrow and the Easter holidays. I think we'd all benefit from cuddling up watching movies.

Weight is STS but tomorrow I'm getting a delivery from a wholesaler which includes industrial numbers of crisps and biscuits. I can't wait till Lent finishes and I can eat all the crisps Grin Ill try to resist

GetTheStartyParted · 02/04/2020 19:31

Ahh, same here @JessJonesJumps I have extra shifts (usually only work 3 days), plus a full time open uni degree, add in a tutorial and the wild one was left to his own devices all day. He's very excited for the Easter holidays. I have to work most of it but do get a week off uni work as long as I finish my assignment on time

I'm going with the flow, what else can you do Smile

Hi to all the new members, I only joined last month. Good luck with your weight loss journey.

GetTheStartyParted · 02/04/2020 19:32

Oh and good luck resisting the crisps, they are my absolute weakness, I think these 2 months of dieting are the longest I've ever gone without them.

recklessgran · 02/04/2020 20:23

Evening all. Crazy busy work day here. I'm grateful to be honest. I'm really missing my usual Friday lunch out with g/f who is also banged up. Worse for her as she's completely on her own.
I had small ham salad in dessert bowl for lunch. Pork chop, runner beans, mushrooms and pepper sauce for dinner followed by orange sugar free jelly.
Helped DD1 with her jigsaw for a little while. She's quite good at keeping herself occupied thank goodness. We are expecting DD5 to come here on Sunday. She has been isolating for 14 days too so it's O.K. for her to join us now. To be honest that will be a relief to have another one home safe. I'm being ridiculously protective of my adult children but just can't help it.
Welcome to all the new ones - some jolly impressive losses going on. Amazing. KOKO everyone.

crivit · 02/04/2020 22:24

@cricketmum84 - a 7 hour Skype meeting is all sorts of wrong 🤯

@JessJonesJumps - best of luck resisting crisps. I have an open (big) packet here and trying to figure out how I can sensibly add them into my food plan... But then I must leave the other big packet very much sealed 😭

Ok day here I think.

B: porridge with sultanas, nuts and cinnamon again (a common theme).
L: salad, houmous, smoky sausage thing with bread and butter.
D: Avocado with vinaigrette and a baked potato with chilli.
Plus a cocoa.

Exercise wise, very happy (if aching). Over 90 minutes of cardio plus weights and yoga. Steps finished on around 17k. Also, somewhat amusingly given I live in a flat and didn't go out today, 90 flights of stairs Confused.

Tomorrow will be similar I think but with a different dinner yet to be decided plus a glass of wine. Doing an online wine tasting course and tomorrow is Chardonnay. Haven't had a glass of that in years!

Oh, and lost a smidge this morning - at 68.5kg!

Tanaqui · 03/04/2020 06:15

Well done Crivit! I am eating chocolate with my morning cuppa- awful start to the day! But I have 10 days off coming up so am promising myself to treat it like bootcamp. Posting here daily is my first step!

cricketmum84 · 03/04/2020 06:58

Morning all :)

Well having the brita jug next to me yesterday definitely made a difference. Although I had to keep taking a 2 min break from the very long meeting to go wee 😂

@crivit online wine tasting sounds fun! Amazing work on the exercise front! That's so impressive!!

Good news about DD5 @recklessgran. I know what you mean about feeling over protective. My eldest is only 15 but I find my levels of worry rise the older they get and more independent they become:

Waves hello to @Kellraiser and @HundredYearOldMan and a huge welcome :)

Right plan for today:
B - coffee, small portion granola and soy yoghurt
L - salad of iceberg, spring onion, cherry tomatoes and avocado with plenty of lime juice and chilli!
D - Chinese takeaway (shhhhhhh) although haven't decided what yet. Being veggie it's quite difficult to order anything too indulgent!

Happy Friday everyone! Wishing you a safe day full of sunshine!

Egghead68 · 03/04/2020 07:38

Glad you survived your online meeting marathon @cricketmum84.

I ended up having to spend the day in bed yesterday (this virus is the gift that keeps on giving) so no exercise and too much ice cream. I skipped dinner to try to compensate.

Plan today
No exercise (staying in bed)
B: Fruit, yoghurt, honey
L: veg stir fry with a few noodles and cashew Nuts
D: tbc but may involve kale chips and a bit of Easter egg (no way it’s going to last to Easter!)

Onceuponatimethen · 03/04/2020 07:58

Good morning everyone! Hi to everyone new - I was new on the last thread and can’t believe how helpful it is to be on here.

@crivit that sounds like a great exercise day

  • 17k is brilliant

@Tanaqui we’ve all had the odd day starting like that! Sounds yum and after breakfast is a fresh start!

@cricketmum84 we had a Chinese takeaway a while back and there were so many veggies in it I decided it was totally healthy Grin loving the sound of the salad dressing you have planned - really delicious

The plan today is this:

Breakfast - fruit
Lunch - veg soup and salad
Dinner - basically has to be shepherds pie as that’s what we have!!! Lockdown makes dieting a bit weird! Dp is quite excited about the shepherds

Exercise plan

I’ve done six days of 10k plus steps now and plan to keep it up today - feeling really motivated and dp is doing it so want to support him. This is my plan:

Am kiddie workouts with the dds maybe jump start Johnny this time (they love that) - will probs be 2.5k steps

Incidental walking around in the day - making sure I do a bit more than usual and keep step counter with me. Probs 1.5k

A workout session with kids around 2.30 pm - that might be some dance or some Joe Wickes - probs 2.5 to 3k

Walking around on the phone - 2 to 2.5k

In other news dp is starting to look quite different. He’s so excited because all his weight has always been located on his tummy and even though he still has quite a way to go, now he looks visibly more trim at the front Star

Onceuponatimethen · 03/04/2020 08:00

@Egghead68 I started my post ages ago and so didn’t see yours. Really sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well and hope you feel less poorly soon. Your stirfry sounds very nice - love a cashew nut!
