Lose 7lbs in July

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 07:41

Anyone else want to? I’d love some company.

I’ve been yoyoing the same 7lb for a while. I’d like it gone for good and then some.

I base my food intake around low carb, moderate fat & moderate protein. Think Mediterranean diet. I do watch my calorie intake too. I have the occasional tipple of alcohol. I generally don’t have processed foods and make meals from scratch. Although sometimes life gets in the way and needs must.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

I will join you, I go on holiday 1st August so 7lb off would be nice. I would love a stone off if possible

I started This week and will weigh in on Monday, I've joined SW to be held to account but don't really follow the diet.

Things I'm trying to do are, drinking more water, reducing alcohol, no snacking. Along with more activity.

Good luck

MillieMoodle · 29/06/2019 08:30

I'll join you. We go away on 2nd August and I'd like to lose at least 7lbs before then. I started last Monday but haven't weighed myself yet, just knew my jeans were getting a bit tight. Will weigh in this morning.

I've been trying to be mindful of portion size, cut out chocolate/crisps/biscuits most days (I'm allowing myself a small treat on a Friday and a Saturday, and trying to be more active. I don't drink often anyway so not cutting out alcohol.

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 09:16

damnitdamnit & MillieMoodle Great! Having an end goal is a great motivator.

Good luck!

I'm in! I'm recovering from a serious accident that restricts my physical activity, and am starting to get very round around the face.

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 09:49

Bless ya WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa hope you recover quickly.

Side note ... Anyone know how to tag posters quickly rather than typing out their username Grin

Please can I join? Baby is 5 weeks tomorrow and it’s time to start tackling the baby weight. I’ve approx 3 stone to lose before I go back to work at the end of Oct. Feels daunting but I hope I can at least get back into my work clothes by then!

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 10:17

Furble Welcome & Congratulations!! How lovely for you. A brand new little human. Are you breast feeding? Not saying you should or shouldn’t ... Is it said that breast feeding gobbles calories?

Oh my god me!!!! I’ve been fannying around 5:2ing, blood sugaring, eating All The Food, back to 5:2... I’m driving myself nuts. I only need to lose half a stone and all my clothes would fit better so I’m starting today. 1000-1200 calories a day, sensible food, no crap. Boom. Thank you for having me Grin

Alienspaceship · 29/06/2019 11:20

Hello All! Me to. I’ve been low-carving for the odd couple of days here and there and I’m going on holiday 19 July!!

Mammyloveswine · 29/06/2019 11:29

I'll join but intend on losing a stone!

Loosely following the principles of slimming world, swapping my relaxing bottle glass of wine for gin and slim.

No crisps, no chocolate, lots of water, fruit and veg.

And doing couch to 5k. Feeling frumpy after DS2! Also booked my hair in as desperate for a cut and highlights!

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 11:39

The more the merrier!

MikeHannigansStripyShirt are you my twin? On reflection I’ve been totally scatter gun in my previous approach ... 5/2, IF, Fast800, LCHF, calorie counting, boy oh boy 😆. All that just makes me a total dumpling 😂.

I bet you can lose a far amount by your goal of the 19th Alienspaceship !

Mammyloveswine Im trying to be more active generally but coach to 5 seems a bit ambitious for an oldie like me Grin

Ps I’ve just found a way to tag people ... press @ and all the names come up who have already posted. Who knew .... Thanks MN!

I’m in @BustedDreams and everyone else

Doing csiro TotalWellbeingDiet fell off the wagon last month just too much on and forgot to eat look after myself and then binged

Foreverlexicon · 29/06/2019 11:59

I’m in.
I’ve been pussyfooting around very very slowly losing 7lb but finally got a grip last week and accepted/was ready to put a bit more effort in.

I’m eating 1500 calories weekdays, 2000 weekends. I ride the horse 5 x a week and aim to run twice a week. I want to lose 28lb more in total (I spent the winter sitting down and comfort eating and gained a tonne) so 7lb a month seems a good rate!

DocMarteens · 29/06/2019 12:09

Yes please I'm in!

Will listen out for hints and tips from this group. I'm afraid that I'm needing dramatic change in my health.

LesLavandes · 29/06/2019 12:21

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 13:44

@EB100 ty! It’s a great addition to the site.

@ShintyFartMuscle not heard of csiro I will google it.

@Foreverlexicon I love horse riding but don’t really do it anymore due to health reasons #envious.

Welcome all 😊

May I join? I'm on a mission! I want to lose as much as possible by 28 July. Low carb doesn't really suit me long term
because I'm veggie but you can do anything for 4 weeks! I tried it fir a wedding and lost 1 stone in 3 weeks. I don't care if it's water as long as losing it will get me into my shorts.

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 13:54

Wow 😮Welcome @Steala that’s fantastic loss ... a stone in 3 weeks. I have a couple of veggie days a week. Today I’m having a veggie tortilla with a big salad.

Nettleskeins · 29/06/2019 15:26

I'm doing a very simple diet - just cutting out bread Blush and cakes and biscuits.
Otherwise I'm eating 3 normal meals a day and no snacks. well, I've been snacking on carrots and nectarines. And last night I had some very sugary dried mango.
91 kg when I started last week, hope to see a difference soon.
I do a lot of walking too, because I've a dog since Feb..and I've also just lost my car key, which helps...Blush

I was sorely tempted by croissants in the kitchen this am (husband and kids) but resisted. I also feel vaguely peckish (except immediately after main meals) most of the time which I assume is a good sign.

I haven't cut out wheat or rice or potatoes - still having noodles and rice and potatoes in main meals, in moderation, and fats.

Nettleskeins · 29/06/2019 15:29

I've never managed calorie counting, but I do know if you are very hungry diets tend not to stick....so I am aiming to eat satisfying but not greedy meals. AND NO BREAD< CAKES OR BISCUITS!!!

Nettleskeins · 29/06/2019 15:32

And I don't drink alcohol or soft drinks, usually water or coffee and tea. So unfortunately I cannot give that up.

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 15:35

@Nettleskeins I’m similar to you in that I mainly drink water, tea or coffee .... with cream Blush

I am up for this, our holiday isn’t until August.

I lost 1.5 stone last year and have kept it off but would like to lose another 1-1.5 by Christmas. At the moment my BMI hovers around 25 so some weeks I am ‘healthy weight’ some weeks overweight. I know the numbers are somewhat arbitrary because I am definitely still carrying too much fat.

I have been doing and maintaining on 5:2. I have let myself slip and eat too much and snack too much in non fast days. I need to nip that in the bud but possible do 3 fast days 😦

Also exercise. I do no formal exercise. I am wavering between 30 day shred and c25k but I need to do something.

Chickenitalia · 29/06/2019 18:21

Hello all, would like to join for some accountability please! I had a bit of a moment yesterday when I finally had to crack out some summer clothes, and it wasn’t good. I’ve been in denial I think. Have gained a stone since last year and it doesn’t look great as I’m short. No real reason, just eating and drinking too much and ignoring the scales in the corner. Holiday is on 4th August and with Monday being the 1st, it seemed like this was the time!
So... I’m 41, 5’ 4” tall, weighing in at 10st 9lbs. Bmi just over 25 with that I think.
Pre-kids I was 9st 2lbs having lost 1.5st, just through calorie counting. My job was much more active tho.
After dd9 I lost the weight very quickly, after ds6 I only ever got back to 9st 9lbs, but that seems like a good place to be.

My plan, because I like a plan and a tracker to live by, is:
100 cal breakfast bar (this is all I ever have, not hungry first thing)
100 cal morning snack.
300 cal lunch
500/600 cal dinner, reducing carbs and bulking up veg.
100 cal toast before bed. I love toast.
No alcohol. No alcohol. No alcohol. This is my downfall.

I struggle with lunch ideas in particular, was wondering about something like an exante bar or replacement something just for that meal. I can’t stand milkshakes but there seemed to be a number of options which might make the decision making a bit easier. Any thoughts?

Good luck everyone, I’m finishing up the last bottle of wine this weekend in the sun before starting properly Monday.
