Lose 7lbs in July

Anyone else want to? I’d love some company.

I’ve been yoyoing the same 7lb for a while. I’d like it gone for good and then some.

I base my food intake around low carb, moderate fat & moderate protein. Think Mediterranean diet. I do watch my calorie intake too. I have the occasional tipple of alcohol. I generally don’t have processed foods and make meals from scratch. Although sometimes life gets in the way and needs must.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

Beetroot and egg... that reminds me of the filled rolls we sometimes had for lunch when I was at primary school. They were SUCH a treat!

Are you Antipodean, @ShintyFartMuscle?

BustedDreams · 01/07/2019 08:26

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa. what’s glucamannan? If it helps with feeling hungry I might get some.

I was far far heavier a couple of years ago. I am lighter & smaller now so I know what I do works if I’m consistent with the approach. It will happen for you too. Keep the faith and all these lovely ladies on here will keep us all buoyed up and on track.

@ShintyFartMuscle great to know you stayed on track when everything around you wasn’t going well!

Morning all. Weighed this morning and it was a few lbs worse than I was expecting. So starting weigh today is 158.5lb / 72kg Shock My ideal weight to fit in with BMI

Wenchelda · 01/07/2019 08:34

Oops sorry pressed “post” by accident Confused Anyway my ideal goal weight 133lbs/60kg so I’ve got a long way to go.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 01/07/2019 08:34

@BustedDreams - it's basically the stuff those 0kcal pastas and rice are made of in tablet form, expands in the stomach. Unbranded version of the BodPod things you dilute in water.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 01/07/2019 08:35

@DrDiva - I'm not going anywhere. Couldn't run away if I tried. 😉😂

BustedDreams · 01/07/2019 08:38

Good morning @Wenchelda. Last year I moved from the obese to the over weight category. Slowly chipping my way down.

Can I join 11’ 5.5 this morning so 7 pounds to go to stop being obese and be overweight. It would be great to make it before our break on 6 August

runningtogetskinny · 01/07/2019 08:49

I'd love to join in but I'm on holiday until Sunday 7th, can I join if I promise to be extra strict for the final 3 weeks? Planning on preparing fresh veggie meals with some fish, minimal alcohol (though won't be cutting it out totally) and seriously trying to quit sugar! Though currently holiday in the Lake District and living on pub meals, cream scones and cake! Though I am doing lots of hiking

BustedDreams · 01/07/2019 09:12

@Onthebrink67 & @runningtogetskinny welcome and off course you can still join. There’s no pressure, free style eating plans (do what you know works for you) and loads of support. Feel free to post tips and recipes if you have anything to share.

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa my starting weight was much higher than that. You're not going to lose weight if you keep putting it off so you should stay!

butterwithtoast · 01/07/2019 09:45

I'm going to join in too, my baby is 12 weeks today and the weight just isn't coming off. I've got at least 3 stone to shift to get into the healthy range, I'm currently at 13st 3lbs. I'm going to take it slow and steady so this is a good starting point. I'm hoping some gentle exercise and cutting out biscuits and all the other crap that breastfeeding seems to make me crave will mean I start to drop the pounds. I've already done a 30min living room workout while baby snoozes, so a good start! Good luck everyone.

cheesenpickles · 01/07/2019 10:11

I've been doing little work outs in the living room when I'm with the kids or working from home but I feel like such a tit doing it. Grin

I've got a new life insurance policy that has gym discount and so I'm planning on doing that but trying to fit it in with childcare/work/husband's bizarre hours is a tad worrying. I really want to become a bit of a gym bunny if I can (lol. Unlikely!)

Gonegardening · 01/07/2019 10:56

Can I join please? A loss of 7lbs will take me to my target weight. Ive managed to loose 5lbs in the past two weeks by trying to increase my activity and cutting out most of the chocolate and crisps. Alcohol has been my downfall so need to try and have a dry (ish) July. Hoping this thread will help me to maintain my motivation as I’ve really struggled since Christmas to have any focus on my health generally. My weigh day is Saturday so after a poor weekend (too much booze) I’ve 5 days to try and improve.

FiveShelties · 01/07/2019 11:33

Have managed a day, felt really hungry, but I think that is just due to how much I have been eating over the past month. Stuck to my WW points and not a single drop of alcohol - I did look lustfully at the wine rack though Grin

Steala · 01/07/2019 11:38

I weighed in at 12 st 1.4. About a stone to get to a healthy (although still unflattering) weight. I've done a spinning class and I'm in the zone! Aiming to get to my holiday in 4 weeks at "slightly overweight".

littleredlipstick · 01/07/2019 12:03

I weighed in at work 12 stone 4lbs I struggle to get below 12 stones but extremely determined to do it in July.

Breakfast was a chai yoghurt Bircher type thing and lunch is bulgar wheat, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and chopped up basil. Snacks are water melon and mango

Chickenitalia · 01/07/2019 12:06

Hello all, well my start weight is officially 149lbs, will crack out the first exante bar in a bit and report back!

Last night was the first night I haven’t drunk alcohol in about 18 months. What a shocker to realise that! But this morning I was woken up at 6.20am by ds6 handing me a tooth (nice) and I actually felt good and managed to summon some enthusiasm for tooth fairy duties!

I’ve done the food shopping for the week and by sticking to the menu planner and list, and no alcohol, it was less than £100. So that’s another benefit I can think about.

It’s also much cooler here today although still sunny, so I’m happier. Feels like a mental fog is lifting a bit.

Good luck everyone xxx

WhatALearningCurve · 01/07/2019 12:22

I've just printed off the BMI chart from NHS website and a pound by pound tracker to tick it all off. It somehow seems a lot less daunting when you see it in little check boxes rather than thinking of the whole figure.

Going to stick them on the fridge and hope it deters me from over eating!

Joining if possible! I'd love to drop 7lbs during July!!

@Furble I'm in a similar position to you. My baby is 6 weeks old & I have 3st 7lbs to get to my goal of 11st 10lbs.

I've lost 10lbs since 25/05. Current weight 15st 3lbs. Desperate to get under the 15's now!

Lucked · 01/07/2019 12:36

I forgot to weigh myself this morning. I am on a fast day so tomorrow’s weight will be a little light but I need to start recording it sometime.

Just coffee and tea until dinner for me today.

I need to have a think and meal plan my non fast days. My current thinking is to add in a third fast day but allow myself up to 800 cals on that day.

YorkshireGoldFanClub · 01/07/2019 13:20

Mad at myself I just wasted syns/ calories on silly little Maoam sweets :( need a kick up the arse to not let it de rail my whole day!!

YorkshireGoldFanClub · 01/07/2019 13:22

P.s. my start weight will be from my last SW weigh in which is 10st 11lbs

BustedDreams · 01/07/2019 15:32

@butterwithtoast congrats on your brand new little human! I’m I pressed with how organised you are.

@Gonegardening not much further for you to go ... you can do it!

@FiveShelties well done on the abstaining. Not always easy, especially if those around you are drinking.

@Steala you sound like you’re set up for the day after a spin.

@littleredlipstick I think we all have our sticking points. I’m like you and I’m determined to break through the barrier this month! We can do it!

@Chickenitalia that’s fantastic! Good on you!

@WhatALearningCurve that’s such a good idea. I don’t know what it is about visual aids but I love them!

@Thismummyruns that’s fabulous progress! And congratulations on your baby. All you new mummies are so inspirational! You’re all doing fantastic jobs as new mums and still able to find time to support others. Sending gratitude ❤️

@Lucked sounds a tough plan, I’m admiring your resolve. I try to stick to 1000 - 1100 myself or I don’t lose anything. I naturally only eat twice a day at about 13:00 & 18:30 or there about.

@YorkshireGoldFanClub don’t look back. Just keep going (not eating Maoam though) and you’ll be fine. Drink loads of water and flush the sugar out.
