Lose 7lbs in July

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 07:41

Anyone else want to? I’d love some company.

I’ve been yoyoing the same 7lb for a while. I’d like it gone for good and then some.

I base my food intake around low carb, moderate fat & moderate protein. Think Mediterranean diet. I do watch my calorie intake too. I have the occasional tipple of alcohol. I generally don’t have processed foods and make meals from scratch. Although sometimes life gets in the way and needs must.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

Welcome @Ivy40, it’s never too late Grin August

@busteddreams

Thanks! I started my diet this morning so may manage half a lb by Wednesday too.

I’m hoping I can lose more than the 1kg I lost in July, in August with some online support and tips.

BustedDreams · 29/07/2019 09:30

That’s significant progress @Chickenitalia especially when you don’t have far to go to goal. Great on the no alcohol since June too. I’m with you on that. I never drank a lot anyway, but when I do I feel so I’ll the next day. I don’t miss it to be honest. I’m away too for some of August. Wishing you a great holiday and catch up when you get back.

Get your head in the right place, plan healthy choices and the rest will follow @Ivy40 . I realise that is easier said than done. Being in the right head space is really important for me. If I become sleep deprived the pesky ghrelin hormone dominates and I crave comfort food. So I’d say getting enough shut eye is also important. Getting rid of sugar and simple carbs also aids reducing craving too. Balances insulin/blood sugar levels.

Thanks @busteddreams.

I fell off the diet eagon last week and I think it’s because I was sleep deprived, slept badly in the heat.

Ivy40 · 29/07/2019 10:07

*diet wagon

BustedDreams · 29/07/2019 12:13

Yes I think the heat affected most peoples sleep and diet the past week. Hopefully the worst is over.

HearMeSnore · 29/07/2019 14:36

No loss this week but no gain either - not bad considering that it was my birthday last week and I enjoyed a bit of a blow-out. Back on the wagon now but not sure I'll quite make it to 7lb by Wednesday Sad

FiveShelties · 29/07/2019 23:01

I was doing so well, but last week definitely not good. I managed to gain 3.2 pounds. Every single ounce was deserved so cannot complain, but definitely cross at myself.

During July I have now lost 3.2 pounds and have a couple a days left to hopefully lose a little more. Have a good week everyone.

BustedDreams · 30/07/2019 06:43

@WhatALearningCurve I’ve had that happen to me. Make good choices (or think I have) and find I’ve gained. It is disappointing but hopefully the gain will come off as quick as it went on. Fingers crossed for you.

@HearMeSnore Happy Belated Birthday! To stay the same when it’s been your birthday is progress in my book Grin

@FiveShelties bless ya. You must have had your reasons. Don’t be hard on yourself, we have all been there! Jump right back on it! You can do it.

Everyone seems to have lost something, which is fantastic. All of us have made progress since this time last month. On that note, just think what could be achieved by this time next month! Let’s rock August silly.

cheesenpickles · 30/07/2019 09:02

I know there's a day left but thought I'd log on this thread for my total July loss (though if I lose tomorrow I'll probably slip in as well Grin)

Started the month on 187.6lbs, BMI 30.3, body fat 41.6% Blush

Today I'm 174.7lbs, BMI 28.2, body fat 39%.

So that's 12.9pb lost, 2.1 points down on BMI (and out of the obese category) and body fat down 2.6%.

Really happy with that and def think this thread has kept me on the straight and narrow. Smile

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 30/07/2019 10:13

Hi everyone 👋🏻

@cheesenpickles that’s brilliant! Well done!

I’m checking in, with one day to go, weight 123lbs. So unless there’s a miracle tomorrow that’ll be a grand total of 2.8lbs off. I’d be disappointed but like I’ve said previously, I’ve lost inches all over and I can fit into several things that I couldn’t a month ago. I’ve been doing lots of exercise so maybe that’s helped too. I might check into august thread when we’re back from holidays - but maybe I’ll be calling out for help and support on a Lose The Holiday Weight AND 7lbs in September thread!!

Well done to all of us, progress big or small is worth celebrating Smile

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 30/07/2019 10:19

I lost my way a little (joined you at the start of the month) but have pulled it back around and have lost 6.5lbs in July. Whoop!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 30/07/2019 10:20

And will be re joining you in August, if that ok?

BustedDreams · 30/07/2019 10:59

@cheesenpickles wow 😮 that is fanbloody tastic!! Well done!!!

@MikeHannigansStripyShirt it’s still a good loss. It might have slowed down a bit if you don’t have a lot to go. Still great though.

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa another lady whose done brilliantly. And off course you can join August thread. Link above Smile

I’m on the scrapper today doing 50 years old woodchip with 10 coats of paint paper stripping. Hard work (recommended) but I keep thinking of all the calories I’m burning. Chuck in a load of stress (not recommended) and I should lose a bit more.

Enjoy your last 2 days of July and set yourself up for a fresh August start Smile

@BustedDreams thank you. I am back on the straight and narrow and have had an excellent Tuesday. Hoping to follow that with a wonderful Wednesday and an optimistic weigh in on ThursdayGrin

FiveShelties · 30/07/2019 11:06

@cheesenpickles well done, what a fantastic result, you must be delighted.
@MikeHannigansStripyShirt have a fantastic holiday and congratulations on your weight loss.
@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa excellent result - see you in August

@BustedDreams - everyone is doing really well - thank you so much for the thread and encouragement

butterwithtoast · 31/07/2019 07:52

Final weigh in of the month this morning and the scales finally shifted after staying the same for a week, so I'm down a total of 11lbs in July. It's extra pleasing because it brings my BMI down below 30, so I'm now 'overweight' and no longer obese. Still such a long way to go, but this thread has been a great support, so I'll see you over on the August thread! Well done everyone.

BustedDreams · 31/07/2019 08:40

Last day of July lovelies ... never mind this month , where has this year gone? 😮

@FiveShelties Thank you, although I feel the real encouragement is from the collective. You’ve all contributed, shared experiences and supported each other. You’ve been an awesome group ❤️

I’m away but have I actually ordered some scales that are coming today. Hope they are ok as they were only £13. A bit of an indulgence I know but I will be here on and off this year.

I love yoga and have got out of practice but intend to get on the mat for at least 10 mins a day (hoping more but don’t want to set my self up to fail). I know this helps trim and firm up my core and strengthens my back.

I use You Tube vids for motivation and guidance such as

Last day of July meals for me are going to be home made soup and oatcakes for lunch, then an evening meal of omelette with cheese, red peppers, frozen peas, onions etc and salad sprinkled with chopped nuts. Plenty of water.

So far this week I have been on point with diet and no pesky cheating. So I’m expecting a small loss or at the very least stayed the same (139.6)

@butterwithtoast

Sorry you’re at the bottom of the page but this post is playing shenanigans with my typing and your name kept disappearing. Just wanted to say that’s an awesome loss - 11lbs - well done! It’s a great sense of achievement too when we bring our bmi down, especially when we move category. Im too am overweight rather than obese now.

HearMeSnore · 31/07/2019 10:36

Total loss for July just under 8lb. Delighted with that, and will try to shift a few more pounds in August (not until after our week away next week though).

Thanks for the company and motivation.

BustedDreams · 31/07/2019 19:27

I’d be blummin’ delighted too @HearMeSnore. 8lbs wow 😮 Well done!
