We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Don't kick yourself Hobble or we'll all have to do it. Smile I was obviously going to be a size 16 by my sister's wedding but managed to get to a small 20.

I agree about the cold, got a horrible o e and been on the Strepsils which turn out to be 10 calories per sweet. Must have had hundreds!

KOKO (keep on keeping on)

vickibee · 16/10/2019 11:09

Agree that if you are feeling under the weather you turn to treats

I am going to see Gemini Man tonight with DS and he always buys loads of sweets. Must have will power
Seeing dietician on Friday, she will be disappointed because I have only lost 3 lb since i saw her on 12 October. I really seem to be stuck, think it may be down to less exercise now it is dark and miserable outside

vickibee · 16/10/2019 11:11

sorry should say 12 Sept

3dogs2cats · 16/10/2019 12:55

I thought a pound a day wasn’t bad Vickibee!
I feel like I should advise you to cut up carrots as snacks for Geminiman, but I wouldn’t, can’t you ask him to buy less and you take some- tasteless - skinny popcorn?

3dogs2cats · 16/10/2019 12:55

Hah strike through fail, not doing that again.

HoobleDooble · 16/10/2019 23:12

Stayed the same this week. Disappointed but could be worse I suppose. Back on it for another week now.

K1ngmarbs · 18/10/2019 11:24

Up 2lb this week which isn’t unexpected but still :(

moonlight1705 · 19/10/2019 08:30

I'm also in the staying the same club this week which is not entirely unexpected. Still onwards to another week.

We had the shopping delivered last night and were given two dozen eggs instead of one dozen (for free!) so I need to think of something nice and healthy to do with eggs or make a lovely big cake

3dogs2cats · 19/10/2019 21:38

Hi moonlight. , I do love an egg, poached on marmite crumpet is good but involves shed loads of butter.

HoobleDooble · 23/10/2019 23:46

It's all gone a bit quiet on here. Weighed in today, lost a pound, don't know how as I've not been too good, especially at the weekend when I went to the Indian with friends, drank a whole bottle of wine and explored the new micro pubs which have popped up in town 😣

vickibee · 24/10/2019 05:31

@hoobledooble I find there is a time delay of maybe a week with your weight, so what you ate a week ago counts. I have lost a pound now 15/stone 0 and 1/2 pound. I am desperate to get through that 15 barrier,
Have been a bit naughty last day or two, I had a Kit Kat chunky last night.
Has anyone read that thread how slim people think, well I certainly don’t think like that. Food is constantly on my mind. I walked past our local chippy last night and the smell sent me salivating

K1ngmarbs · 24/10/2019 07:57

Hi ladies @HoobleDooble well done on the loss I am down a lb again this week so almost back to my lowest. It’s a slow old job this isn’t it! @vickibee that books sounds interesting I’ll look it up and yes the smell of chip shops is always so tempting!

moonlight1705 · 24/10/2019 13:42

@vickibee I posted on that thread as it always seems my mind is on food or the lack thereof. Well done for getting close to that 15st barrier!

@HoobleDooble well done for a 1lb, keep chipping away and soon it will be a stone before you know it. I am finding that slower is better for me, I keep getting to a new plateau and re-setting my body at that new lower point but it does not happen rapidly.

I have decided I am not going to call food naughty now, I'm going to call it unplanned. So today I have an unplanned Wispa bar but I have also had a really healthy lunch and a good solid healthy dinner tonight so will not beat myself up for that. But totally agree about the chip shop smell.

vickibee · 05/11/2019 07:35

So this morning I weighed in at 1 stone 13 and 1/2 so finally got thru the 15 barrier. I have been stuck for a while so it has boosted me a bit. The colder weather means comfort food, we had chilli con carne last night made mostly with beans

How is everyone, quiet on this thread of late

vickibee · 12/11/2019 09:04

everyone is quiet, progress anyone?

moonlight1705 · 12/11/2019 10:03

I wasn't going to keep on this thread as no-one can be bothered with a discussion or to actually help each other now unlike previous threads.

I'm staying at my current weight and have done for some time so am going to try a 5:2 diet until Christmas to see if that kickstarts something.

vickibee · 12/11/2019 10:38

@Moonlight, that is a shame

Hope your 5 - 2 diet works, i cant imagine what you could eat on a fast day for 500 Kcal that makes you feel satisfied. I can't go to bed feeling hungry and tend to fill up in the evening.
How do you cope with the fast days?

moonlight1705 · 12/11/2019 10:40

I'm doing the first one today so will let you know Smile but for the menu today then I skipped breakfast and will have a large bowl of soup for lunch. I have got turkey burgers and salad plus sweet potato wedges (not too many of those) for dinner.

I have chosen today as I have a taekwondo class 7-8pm so will eat dinner once I get back to stop the evening snacking.

vickibee · 12/11/2019 12:26

I have eaten 800 cals already today for breakfast and lucnh and I could easily eat more!
I have got cod fillets fir tea so that's low in calories plus lots of veg

moonlight1705 · 12/11/2019 16:30

Cod sounds nice, the only trouble with fish is that I want to smother it in lovely sauces.

I am doing ok on the low calorie day, little bit hungry but planning my nice turkey burgers. I've also planned in a banana for when I get home.

HoobleDooble · 13/11/2019 07:46

Hope everyone is doing well and avoiding temptations that are starting to creep in, we have 3 tubs of christmas chocolates from clients in the office already! Another 3lbs off today. That's the first of many stones shed and back under 20 stone (the weight I swore I'd never get to, but somehow did). Been reading the weight restraint information on my chair at work and the maximum is 19 stone 🥺 so that's my next target ... Save the Wheely Chair!

vickibee · 13/11/2019 09:05

well done hooble, these stone barriers are a huge motivator to keep going, i broke the 15 stone barrier recently. so i began in feb at 18 st 9 and i am now 14 st 11.
there are lots of temptations here too, cakes and biscuits etc. willpower needed, a tricky time of year

moonlight1705 · 13/11/2019 09:08

Hooble - do you know what, I didn't even think of looking at the chair limit at my office Sad I am at 19st 4lb so bet I'm over the limit.

My stone goal will be to get below 19st and possibly even 18st by Christmas.

Well done vickibee, its a fab weight loss. How do you feel?

vickibee · 13/11/2019 09:21

I feel so much better thank you. I had really bad indigestion back in February to the point it was making me sick. that has gone and I a fitting in stuff that hasn't fitted in 8+ years. I don't need to get new as I have a range of sizes in my closet.
My iron levels are low though and the GP has asked to see me for further investigation. My BMI is still 31.8 so still obese unfortunately. I would like to lose another 2 stone but it is getting harder
Good Luck with it and just keep plodding along, slow and steady

HoobleDooble · 13/11/2019 23:51

Amazing stuff Vickibee! I can't remember the last time I was under 15 stone. The only reason I thought about my chair having a weight limit was because the wheel came off my old one and I'm sure it was because of my weight but everyone's too nice to mention it.
